Midir is a baby and still bigger than Alduin will ever be! 😆
@@benireges midir is a baby? That can't be right. He was tasked by the ancient gods to watch over the ringed city during the age of fire. And Everlasting dragons don't age, as Midir is the last of the Everlasting dragons.
@@tlmacmillan1 Midir has been around for thousands of years, but that doesn't mean he can't be a baby, child, or adolescent, because in Archdragon Peak there is an Archdragon corpse the same race as Midir that is the size of a mountain. Midir is described as a "descendant of the Archdragons," indicating that he is their minor and indeed young.

Either rule 34 or a nightmare bossfight.
It should be noted midir is perhaps the only true dragon we fight in the series at full strength. All the other dragons were either weakened, false dragons, crippled or subjugated in some way that held them back.
Kalameet was shotdown, seathe relied upon the primordial crystal and had no tough exterior scales, the ancient dragon in DkS2 was a fraud, singh the slumbering dragon was already impaled when we fought him or they were not direct descendants of ancient dragons.
Midir was a direct descendant of ancient dragons, found in the egg filianore holds, was knocked down a chasm but not terribly wounded, he is a true dragon infused with dark increasing his power and abilities
He's probably more wounded than Kalameet. Kalameet just had a busted wing, but Midir got slashed and stabbed and then fell a loooooonnnnng way into a chasm where you fight him.
but what about the gapping dragon he didn't had any injuries. he was just weak.
read his soul description, his golden age is over
It should be noted that Kalameet can be slain without having Gough shoot him down, if you are a complete masochist and want the most ruthless bitch of a boss fight ever.
Wrong my friend.
Midir has lost the stone scales and that's why we can kill him.
He's literally consumed after so much fights against the darkness.

Yea I agree
It probably took tons of people.
why?
The people who are confused about how smoothly the fight went. He had a properly upgraded exile curved great sword. That and a well upgraded great sword are good pve weapons. They can do the damage required and be flexible for consistency, especially in an endurance based boss fight.
I usually stick to fully upgraded greatswords for PvE, and I've never had any problems (outside of me sucking at the game, anyway). I usually keep lighter, quicker bleed weapons (like Blood Gotthard twins or Blood Uchigatana) for PvP, though
What armor?
@@tiagodecastro2929 Go sharp instead. Bleed builds aren't funny anymore.

Obsidian Dragon looks like it's mega evolution
He's the one someone missed in DS1. Now he's all grown up and pissed you killed his family.
technically it could be, because the ravenous crystal lizard is said to have grown because of consuming so many souls, which basically means corruption in the world of DS, which could evolve to something the size of Midir. But it's not cus Midir has a story to why he's like that

I think the only reason people think this boss is unfair is because the way they fought it.
From clearly wants us to do one thing to kill this boss easily, only attack the head.
Reasons:
-If you in front of his face, he will do his bullshit flame attack less and use melee more.
-Attacking at the head deals more damage.
-If he does his fire attack, you can easily run away from it rather than run to his tail, because he's fire range is actually aiming to the back rather than the front
I killed him easily by only attacking his head with sunlight straight sword, and that's after dying 20 times for attacking him on the leg and tail.
1rst time i face that guy i was 110 lvl and when i learn his attacks i easaly beat him after dying 8-10 times... i was using quality build strengh/dext.... then i decided to make anther character and face him again as a sorcerer... i dont want to tell you how much hard was even in NG with sorceries.... but i finnaly beat him after dying 20 times :P

Fought him last night on my sorceress/hexer character, and hoo boy...it made me realize just how easy Midir is on a melee build in comparison. When you're doing melee, it's relatively simple to force him into manageable attack patterns just be staying close to his head, but when you're doing ranged, he gets extremely erratic and dangerous. Seriously, I've only ever fought him melee before, and like half the attacks he did on the ranged fight I've never even seen before. He did a ton of big slam attacks, bull charges, and just in general, he was moving around way more and was much more unpredictable than normal. He only had like 2 more casts' worth of HP left when he did the dreaded two jumps backwards and started charging his laser breath...I was 100% certain I was fucked, but by some godsdamned miracle I managed to dodge the first laser and get under him in time, then finish him off while he was recovering. Definitely my most frustrating and adrenaline-pumping Midir fight yet.
Pestilent Mist.
I killed midir with pestilant mist, it was fun, just bait his dash attack and cast a spell.
I really love how your movements synced up to the music from approximately 0:49 to 0:55 . You played well too, and the fact that you got the laser combo involved in the last moments of the fight is spectacular!
Dude, you pulled this boss fight off AMAZINGLY! This guy easily gave me the hardest time out of all the Dark Souls 3/Bloodborne boss fights. Still one of the best in DS3, though.

Fire infused +10 black knight shield helps quite a bit with the fire attacks.
Gotta say, watching the Humanity spring out of the ground was the more terrifying thing for me in this fight. That's a *true* sign of the Abyss, that Midir isn't just slinging any old Dark attacks at you, but the same stuff that destroyed Artorias way back.
Why does everybody go under him? It's so much easier if you stay in front of him in a certain distance, wait for and dodge his attacks and attack afterwards.
Attack afterwards is the hardest part of this plan. He almost always launches flame under him.
@@Fightlapa yeah but you can wait that out by running back when you see him rear up for the flame.
@@Fightlapa why stay under him im the first place? You cant see his attacks, most of them are desinged to hit you behind him, you deal way less damage and his attacks in front of him are quite easy to read and dodge after fighting him about 2 to 3 times. Stay at the head folks and it will be easier
I personally agree. It’s risky, but boy, does it feel good slashing your weapon across Midir’s head. My +5 Chaos Blade slashing Midir’s face does less damage than swinging a greatsword, but it felt so satisfying.
I died with this strategy, but when I went under it the boss was easier.
To everyone saying this boss is unfair it's because it is from a lore standpoint.
Midir is the only dragon we face that is 100% like the ones the gods fought during the first war.
And then here we are, an ashen one who wasn't even meant to rekindle the fire taking on a boss that the gods probably would've had some trouble with.

OMG BEST FIGHT EVER AND FOREVER, UP UP AND BEYOND
@@vitoradosic9272He’s literally the only real dragon out of the three ofc he’s the best. Sometimes new/different doesn’t equal good. Placi is the furthest from a dragon and it’s more like fighting a hydra, Bayle is a wyvern so out of the question, his sword wing is cool tho. But as for Dragons the only thing Elden Ring DRAGONS have over Midir is the lightning weapons and that’s it. That shits badass asf I will give them that but that’s literally it
As for making you feel like you’re fighting an epic dragon Midir is the best. He has claws and uses them, he has jaws and uses them, he has fire and a laser and humanity attacks. Placidusax is closer to fighting a parapalegic mass of rocks with lightning abilities. Bayle is a badass crippled wyvern, but nothing has surpassed Midir. Like why is Placidusax even in this conversation, outside of having a laser and cool lore his fight is lame asf. He’s literally so fat it’s up to you to move around the arena for him. His attacks are slow and telegraphed and his laser besides the spectacle is inaccurate asf. Only time you get hit with Placid’s laser is in PVP.
Bayle was cool yeah, but he’s crippled and his attacks are wonky asf. He just defies gravity with the two attacks and don’t even get me started on the camera. Bayle was Fromsoft’s attempt at recreating Midir and they got close but failed. They missed the perfection that was Midir’s fight. And as for lore he’s literally the loser of dragons, making mud huts in a desperate attempt at recreating Farum Azula in his image out of jealousy. You can’t expect me to like a failed Drakelord and crippled Dragonlord crying over his God that abandoned him over an Abyssal Archdragon who’s fight actually made me feel like I was fighting a dragon. And don’t even get me started on the bullshit that is Elden Ring balancing, you can kill Bayle in his first phase if you do enough damage and stunlock him before he transforms.
And the camera angles, the Ancient dragons have a head lock on that’s useless and so do Wyverns unless ur a jump attack build. Orherwise for wyversn ur locked onto their feet and ancient dragons ur free camera attacking their feet. They literally regressed, the reason people love Midir is because it was a face off. Tried to attack his feet and you ate fire, but nooo they want us to attack feet again like bruh. It’s not a nostalgia thing, Midir was LITERALLY the best dragon fight in the series and it’s not nostalgia, it’s not bias, it’s not lore, it’s literally game design and facts. He’s just better full stop.
I prefer bayle

It was just like what Shin Godzilla did after it evolved to counter the bombs.
Both are amazing to behold.
I played almost each Souls Game and this was the hardest BOSS! He is a nightmare!!!
Tip for Midir that helped me a lot: the entire game likes to push you into rolling toward/into bosses to get closer and hit them easier. This may seem obvious but rolling AWAY from Midir helps so much more since you won’t get trapped beneath him, the camera issues are significantly decreased, and you will be right next to his head if done correctly also it’s better for dodging fire. But for that first attack combo he does roll into that one
I get why people say this boss is ball-slappingly hard. But unfair? Cheap? Nope, not at all.
You want unfair and cheap?
Remember Elana?
The Capra Demon?
Ancient Dragon? (more cheap than unfair)
Lud and Zallen?
And if you played Bloodborne, Defiled Amygdala?
There were more horrid experiences in the series than Midir. He's one of my favorites as a matter of fact.
Fuck you how dare you remind me that defiled amygdala is a thing that exists
PantherOfDusk lazy? Midir has more attacks than most bosses they clearly tried to made midir epic
A Candy Hunt Well defiled Amygdala has a very easy exploit
But it's still a bitch to fight
Elana? That boss was nothing more than a speedbump, just go as aggressive as you can and she won't have a chance to summon Velstadt
Capra Demon is easy if you stay light on your feet. That's how I deal with him anyways
People are arguing about Midir or Bayle. But y’all are forgetting the true GOAT: SINH 🔛🔝
Still better than dragons in Elden Ring
nostalgia:
average ds3 fanboy blinded by nostalgia
bayle's honest reaction:
@@ll-ll5gt you are under every post, YOU are fanboy
@@brattler8376 the fact that you see me every post means that you are a fanboy too
I love how you can notice the resemblance in Midir's and Oceiros' movements
Im here after fighting Putrescent Knight after i see people saying it's literally just Midir's boss room
I was gonna point this out also literally his boss room
Now, Midir is the one who checks under the bed for Bayle.
With this and slave knight Gael we have the two best and hardest boss fights ever Imo. The music, arena, difficulty and lore behind these two fights really prove that from wanted the souls series to end with their best work possible.
Midir definitely Gael I beat him on my second try
Guess whos back
Back again
This proves that the ultimate weapon in souls games is the health bar.
Bullshit, your Midir is just letting you thwack on his head. MINE fucking flies all over the goddamn place and won't let me hit his damn head.
So I’m here in the middle of 2021 thinking about how fun and insane this game was this boss was extremely amazing good ol days 😔
just play the game again bro
2:07 Midir has eyes
Cursed
Sorry Midir, you did great in those 7 years, Now I am obsessed with Bayle the dread!
Like if u are watching this after defeating Bayle!
bayle dethroned midir i guess
@@ll-ll5gt true
@@ThisAbdullah he can rest now, bayle shall take on the legacy from now on,until the next dragon
Nothing fealt greater in a game than solo flawlessing darkeater midir. My favorite boss fight
welcome back midir and pontiff
People who said Midir is unfair probably never try beat Ancient Dragon in ds2, that shit is beyond unfair..
Ancient Dragon would curbstomp every other Souls dragon. And I'm not saying that because I like him, but because his damage output is complete bullshit.
Paint Monarch Gameplay Wise or lore wise? Midir is probably the strongest lore wise
@@yeah-xd5qi pretty sure he means gameplay wise as ancient Dragon has an ungodly amount of health, insane damage and as a carry on top BULLSHIT hitbox making the fight feel overall cheap as compared to one's like kalameet and midir
@@yeah-xd5qi lore wise I like Sinh more but Midirs is also interesting
Beat Elden ring. Midir, the blind dragon is still my favorite boss in the series
Midir is blind?
@@Nrzpokrter yeah
@@Nrzpokrter malenia type of blind ( basically bullshit lie )
Music at 0:35 is just perfect, especially if you get hit with his first attack and use ember. You are both just standing and looking at eachother and the music always does this.
Midir is what we'd get if we gave a traditional Dark Souls dragon godzilla textures. The design is just amazing.
imagine how hard a optional boss of an optional dlc story mission
boss is hard but this is one of my favorite boss themes in the souls games
Matthew same
That SHIN GODZILLA!!!
Just a tip : when midir does fire attacks, would recommend running away and then comming back as the fire lingers on the ground (it doesn't hurt you) to get a direct counter attack on head instead of going under him to hit his tail as you often get hit in the process and the tail takes minimal damage.
God that roar at the beginning and then the intense start of the theme just makes this dragon so much more badass.
Bethesda: hey gamers! We made this awesome game called skyrim where you get to fight mutha fuckin dragons.
From software: Hold my beer.
Amazing boss and amazing battle. Thank you
Heather Mason well it's most certainly about time they added a dragon fight right!
Manuel Vega Kalameet.. Sinh...
Alexandru Calciu Ancient dragon... Ancient Wyvern... Guardian dragon... Gaping dragon... Dragon god
LaserShark19 I was talking about those who are enjoyable. Gaping Dragon is enjoyable aswell, but the others... ehh.
Alexandru Calciu lol I was joking
