How to Format USB Drive for your TV

Various TV models support different file systems for USB drives. If your USB drive or flash disk isn't formatted in the correct file system for your TV, it won't be recognized. So here's how to properly format it for your TV brand.

I have a IView PCR box that is connected to my HDTV. I don't know if it is faulty or the USB drive I am using to record TV shows is, but there are many drop outs during the playback of the shows. Would it be good to format the flash drive in NTFS to record TV shows? would it cut down on drop outs?

Every flash drive formatting utility pretty much can format your USB drive to FAT32 which is universally supported by almost all TVs that accept USB Drive.

Check the file extension of the video you're playing. MP4 are almost universally supported across popular TV brands. If the video file is a different file format, try to convert it first.
