Saving files to a USB Drive

Hi! I've been looking forever for an answer, and this video is 9 months ago, but I'm desperate to know!
If I copy an important folder on the USB drive, like the personal files that holds all the data, documents, etc, on it, if I were to delete that, would it delete it from my actual PC too?
