On the inside of the hull for each bolt you need a medium hardness neoprene washer, a stainless washer, and then the hex nut, the neoprene washer seals the hole and because it is under the stainless washer the sun will not degrade the rubber. That boat is sick but I would have your junior wear a helmet just in case you hit something if he got jolted toward his head might hit that bar I'm not telling you what to do its your kid but the safer the better

so what you're saying is do this step BEFORE you install all the rest of the stuff....Like when you are building the hull and the boat is empty?
