Yeah range extenders were/are not the best but it was what we had. The mesh system is much better & it seems as if they keep improving on it. To be honest for the money this system would be worth it if you have problems with the WiFi signal.
If the decos are as close as 1 meter to each other, would it be a problem?Actually, there is a small distance in between, but it is covered with walls. And I want to buy 2 separate decos for that area and set up as a wired backhaul. I have already some decos in my house. I want to add more.
For those that were looking for data/numbers. I tested the Deco60 through the Deco speedtest app and got 729.2 download and 14.1 upload (my ISP service is 500/20 but they usually give me more). Problem is when I do a speedtest via my PC which is directly ethernet wired to the ISP modem I get comparative results (733.49 and 16.97) which I cant see as being theoretically possible (I did numerous speedtests and always with similar results). So unsure how credible the speedtest on the Deco App is when my phone app reads the same as hard wired throughput? Is it actually testing my ISP capability or the wifi signal from Deco units (what we want to see of course is how capable the Deco units are in terms of wifi speed )?
I have an old range extender from Night Hawk, if I change the SSID and password to the same as my main network would that allow devices to jump between the two seamlessly?
@@geekanoids ok cheers. It’s just I have a couple of devices that only operate on 2.4ghz and I had to split the output from my router to get these devices to work and wondered how they would work with these.
crap, bought these 3 weeks ago and every two days have to reboot as satellites go red all the time for no apparent reason. If it works yes it works well, strong wifi, setup good but do you really want to have to reboot or constant maintenance on this stupid unit? my old orbis have NEVER gone down unless there wasa power failure! never not once! even when working parallels to this tp crap.
@@geekanoids not you fault no need to be sorry but infuriating that tp-link support responds like newbies (why dont you try moving the satellite closer to the main unit) stupidities. When this unit works it is blazing fast but it randomly disconnecting (and reconnecting itself) all day is just not worth even a free deco 60 set.

Many thanks Darren.
Hey Dave Good morning! Just finished an eight hour shift from 3:00 p.m -8:00 p.m! Have great day and week ahead!
You too!
Loving the new thumbnail templates, so clean and colourful!
Thanks Anna 🤓👍🏻

That should be fine.
Thanks for the review.
Does the X60 have scheduler for wifi on/off?
Sorry I no longer have this to check.

Thanks for sharing your experience with this.
Hello sir..is it correct to connect the pieces to each other by wire using Cat 6 cable, which is better, connecting them by cable or by WiFi
I always connect the main unit via Ethernet and all the satellites via WiFi.

In some cases this would work.
I know you say they are dual band but can you split the 2.4 and 5ghz SSID’s?
Sorry, I no longer have this to check. I recall not splitting them and letting devices auto join.

So...did it work?? We need data, numbers, speed tests etc.
Sorry no numbers, but it did work extremely well.
doubt it works with sky broadband with dhcp option 61 required tplink forums say only their vdsl modem/routers will work :(
Not sure on this.
All wifi reviews need data. NUMBERS!!!!!
Thanks for your feedback.
Exactly!

I hope you get it sorted soon.
