@TechOdyssey question, I live in a 2br apartment 1 floor, about 900-1000sq ft of size of the apartment. I stream for my TV and I have been doing some speed test for my internet. My house is full brick, no plasterboard or hollow walls anywhere so the signal to my bedroom doesn’t connect well as it’s on the other side of the house. So would the Deco6E be the best choice for me? I usually have to use 4G in my room and my pc Wi-Fi connection is horrible
Dude, are we the same person? I have the same 3 piece canvas in your background. I got the S23U. I have the same exact router. And I just bought the same mesh network lol

Just bought the XE75 Pro 2 pack, one major issue is Deco does NOT support separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSIDs, I thought I saw in one of these videos that you can do that, but I guess that was a diff router, so now that you know this flaw, if you need this feature, the whole line of DECO is not for you.
one option is to enable guest network and set it to only 2.4Ghz, and then the main network set it as 5Ghz and effectively does the same thing, except the guest network will be isolated from the the main one
I do not recommend DECO system. my experience has been terrible. the system has major flaw, they haven't fixed. ( Port Sensenig) fails and renders the unit useless.

Great video, I have 1G fiber internet, Right now I have a Asus GT-AX 11000 pro for gaming and Wifi, I am looking to another Router, I was think of getting another Asus Ax11000 pro, Or 2 Asus zenwifi pro ET12, Which setup do you think will give me faster speeds with more courage?
How did you get the Deco's to connect to the router? I am thinking about doing this exact same setup, but nervous about compatibility. Would love some more information on this because the internet says they do not work in conjunction with each other.
One question what are your walls made from, none of mine are plaster board (dry wall) , i'm in the UK, all my internal walls are brick 5ghz no chance, 2.4ghz stuggles, great video though

Hi, got a 4 bedroom house, 3 story house and one detached garage/home office. I'm thinking in 4 deco xe75 not sure if that's right. One in each story and another one in the office where I work. My main concern are the walls in the detached garage. The garage is 4m away from the house. Thanks
One thing that constantly pushes me away from mesh systems is how limited their admin pages are. Right now I have the eero devices since that's what my ISP provides and whenever I want to tinker around on my home network I constantly find myself annoyed at how limited the functionality is for the eero devices. I was looking into these deco devices but apparently it's the same story with them as well :( I've considered just having one main router for the top floor of my house and one main router as a subnet for the bottom floor of my house but I'm a little hesitant on doing this as well because then my phone won't auto switch between the two routers
Why do people still use gaming as an excuse for recommending wifi setups? Seriously if you need low latency just buy a long ethernet cable and some cable clips / raceway. WiFi is for watching tv, phone stuff or browsing stuff you don't care if it takes a fifth of a second shorter, not gaming at the level that latency that you need the peformance low latency gives you. Great video though. Perfectly explained
I already have this router , but my patio area is 450 feet by 80 feet and an extender will be helpful. Which one is the best to plug using cat 5e cable as a mesh
Help me out. I’ve got a brick home and my router is in our “office” in a separate building on the back of our garage. All WiFi therefore has to go through two brick walls to get in our one-story 3300SF house. I get a spotty or no WiFi signal at times even though I pay for 1G speed. Could I get a two-mesh system with one placed nearer the office and another further away? Would the one further away relay to the closer one which in turn relay to the router? Also I need a very basic lesson here. Is the router a modem and router combo?
I use a WiFi Router and some Wifi APs, but connected by Ethernet. Sadly the "Mesh" functionality doesn't work perfectly on the ones I have, but it's good enough I guess.

I have a small apartment 1100 sq ft one floor. My ring camera is having connectivity issues after 3 years of having no issues. Will a router and mesh be best? My ring camera is at my front door, but I’ve noticed there’s way more ring cameras now within my apartment complex. High end router or just go with mesh router?
Did I understand you to say you had both the axe and the Deco operating at the same time? how does that work? Can I leave my existing Router and add the mesh?
Doesn't work that way. The one with the router is called OneMesh that only works with other routers and Wifi Extenders, so in that case you probably wouldn't need as "powerful" router as Archer AXE75, because it would be adviced to turn that Wifi off entirely if you want a Mesh that is supposed to work like a Mesh does. You can however plug in Deco devices to this router and play with the OneMesh and then get multiple Deco Mesh devices to each dead spot of your house, e.g. floor 1, 2, 3 and garage and they work. This is a shame in my opinion, since I really thought that Archer AXE75 would be in the same Mesh with Deco devices, but nope. This was a poor choice from TP-Link in my opinion.
I have wireless 5G Internet from ATT and want to add a router to create a static IP address for my Roku streaming. Hulu live tv gets confused with dynamic IP addresses causing the system to think I'm not at my home location. Don't need Mesh, so is it easy to do this with the router?

I have been wondering about " connectivity " for sometime now. ( Back before 5G was implemented and as the other specs began to bump up n up.) I did some haphazard searching. I've also prodded some you tube influencers. To date , this is the best video breaking down some of my concerns ( or deficiencies in understanding). So cross off wifi 6e off the list...( oneplus 11 = wifi 7 !!) I bet a short could cover the Bluetooth 5.0 to 5.3 differences with regard to future proofing . And lastly, the need for proper cables to charge at peak speed . Also , do the magnetic plugs accumulate miniscule metals or do they block the port and enhance blocking the buildup of " crap" in the port. Or do they alter charging/ data transfer speeds. Hopefully, you see the value in the above points, you infuse knowledge to your viewers , and add to your channel's brand by covering all the angles or considerations to tech hardware. There are So many salespersons and biased opinions just making videos without truly caring about the viewers experience on their tech journey. Thanks

My house is full brick, no plasterboard or hollow walls anywhere so the signal to my bedroom doesn’t connect well as it’s on the other side of the house. So would the Deco6E be the best choice for me? I usually have to use 4G in my room and my pc Wi-Fi connection is horrible
What did you go with? I guess he doesn’t answer questions 🙃
I ordered the Wifi 6E. Thanks for the video
You said you use the Archer and the Deco in conjunction. I though the two mesh technologies are incompatible? AI-Driven Mesh vs OneMesh
Dude, are we the same person? I have the same 3 piece canvas in your background. I got the S23U. I have the same exact router. And I just bought the same mesh network lol
We’re twins!
Thanks very much for this info. Husband and I are retired and def not tech savvy but can understand some. So here’s our question: if we get the mesh router, does it replace our current Century Link router? We’re looking into this bec our connection is very poor. Our Prime Videos buffer almost constantly.
super helpful bro. as a fellow spectrum customer this was extremely helpful
i live in a 4 Story home my router is at the ground floor and my pc is at 4th floor i barely have wifi
I have a shop in my backyard. I want to know if I can use the extender in the shop with the Wi-Fi in the house the house is 1800 ft.² and we use Comcast.
Just bought the XE75 Pro 2 pack, one major issue is Deco does NOT support separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSIDs, I thought I saw in one of these videos that you can do that, but I guess that was a diff router, so now that you know this flaw, if you need this feature, the whole line of DECO is not for you.
they have auto detect for that the devices that support 5gh will automatically connect to that
one option is to enable guest network and set it to only 2.4Ghz, and then the main network set it as 5Ghz and effectively does the same thing, except the guest network will be isolated from the the main one
I just bought this axe5400. Can I just buy one of the mesh devices to save money or do I need the base unit as well ?
I do not recommend DECO system. my experience has been terrible. the system has major flaw, they haven't fixed. ( Port Sensenig) fails and renders the unit useless.
Great video. However I’m looking for a video how to install either of the products to a Comcast Gateway. Thanks
Hello! Great video! I have a 4-story townhouse. 4,500 Sq ft. I plan on getting the router/modem and mesh network. How many of the wifi mesh do you think I should get? I'm thinking 3 minimum.
Thanks for the video. Can you tell me the difference between the XE75 and W7200 ? Appreciate the help.. Thanks!
How do you connect the mesh system to the internet? Dont you need a traditional router as well?
Do you have a video of how to connect the Deco as a wireless extender to the router? I purchased the exact same deco and router you used on this video but cannot figure out how to connect the deco as a wireless extender.
I was looking into these deco devices but apparently it's the same story with them as well :(
I've considered just having one main router for the top floor of my house and one main router as a subnet for the bottom floor of my house but I'm a little hesitant on doing this as well because then my phone won't auto switch between the two routers
Sadly the "Mesh" functionality doesn't work perfectly on the ones I have, but it's good enough I guess.
great video, cleared all my doubts and helped me make a right informed decisoin,
Glad I could help!
I have an archer ax4400 that works fine for my house and attached garage but recently built a metal shop 100 feet away that has no signal. I ran a cat6 underground cable out to it. If i buy the deco will it mesh being plugged to the lan cable. I really don't want to add another router with a different name to have to switch back an forth between. Not very tech savvy. Thanks
I like Google Nest WiFi Mesh Router system
I have a small apartment 1100 sq ft one floor. My ring camera is having connectivity issues after 3 years of having no issues. Will a router and mesh be best? My ring camera is at my front door, but I’ve noticed there’s way more ring cameras now within my apartment complex. High end router or just go with mesh router?
Does the mesh hub give you the same speed as you can get when you are right next to your router
Which would you recommend for a mobile home
Thank you for the great information! New router needed.
question as you seem pretty knowledgable. I bought one x10 deco tp link mesh. My house is two floors. Starlink internet on the first floor. as a result second floor no internet at all. Now I noticed the deco x10 needs ethernet to connect to internet. isn't another way to connect it via wifi and put in the place where the internet kinda ends in order to extend the signal to the upper floor?
So, can you hard wire in the deco extender and then feed off of that to a switch to plug more things hard wired?
Thank you TechOdyssey!
Thanks, you convinced me to get the Google Nest WiFi Pro G6ZUC. I was on the fence of either getting the router or the mesh setup.
Hello sir sorry to bother ya, I have a question I have starlink it's great but I'm unable to reach my office in my barn that's about 75ft from the router in the house, I'm unable to get a signal out there to connect my computer and security camera, could you please advise me on what to do with the starlink stuff?
Hi, I wanted to build a setup like this with my existing AX73 and 2x deco M4. For now my AX73 is at G floor and my RE705 is at middle of 2nd floor. The AX73 and RE705 is using a Onemesh setup. The 3rd floor seems not getting optimum connection as sometimes my iPad M1 experience in Wi-Fi drop. For your setup, do you have a different SID for AXE75 and Deco XE75?
I will probably go with the router as I live in a one bedroom apartment and don't need much range
I have Xfinity in my house. Dosen't work in my garage or outside . Do I need an Extender to reach those areas ? What kind ? How do ii hook it up ?. Wayne, Thanks
Hi TechOdyssey, I have existing 3 AC2200 ( 1 connected to router 2 as extended nods for coverage purpose) connected to a high speed 2 bands router 4 years ago. Now I want to upgrade this wifi 6 Tplink AXE5400 router for wifi 6 and at least 1 or 2 pack XE75 as access nods and link all others deco M9+ into it, is this the right way to upgrade the speed to the network or is there another cost saving ways to improve coverage in my 5800sq ft home? Thanks😄
Mesh system works great like a walkie Talkie , straight Line, like 5G WiFi
Really enjoyed your explanation. You are the first person that I could actually understand what you were saying. I have att all in one router/modem and I have a Decx20 wifi 6 plugged into it, but I am still having problems getting signals to the back of my house. My house is 2200 and it is a perfect square. My base deco is only 20 feet from the first pod and is going through one wall, I am getting good speed there, but the other pod, which is about 20 feet or less is sending the signal through 3 walls and I cannot faster than 70 mbps. I checked the att apps for signal strength and it telling that the signal is week. DO you have any suggestions? Should I get rid of the att router? Thank you
Bypass the att router use mesh to assign ips etc …att 320-505 modem/router wifi sucks…at least in my opinion and house, and I only have a 1300sq ft single story
Is it a good idea to have my traditional router connected to my mesh? If yes how to I set that up? Thank you
my house has a long corridor each room has thick concrete walls and the signal cant go through all those walls. would putting a mesh in each room help penatrate each wall or should i try more routers?
Could I add the Deco to the axe5400 and have them mesh?
Great video but I’m not sure if I want to stay with TP link I purchase in 2019 archer multi band gaming router, which worked really good but just stopped working and TP link will not replace it spent $600 on it from Best Buy. Crazy company does not stand behind their product.
Thanks
Hello! I have Verizon Fios and I using Verizon Router CR1000A and Extender E3200 include. My question is can I stay with Verizon Fios or get my own router and extended, which one you recommend. Thank you very much.
I'm in a 2 bedroom apartment my router is in the living room and 20 ft away are the rooms which my PlayStation is in and the connection drops crazy bad like every few minutes, would you suggest the archer or the mesh?
Archer is fine. Plus more LAN plugs if you need them.
@TechOdyssey so router for small house is enough?
Sigh. Here we are in Australia on 100-250mbps. Even third world countries have better and cheaper offerings
Plus you have 9 of the deadliest snakes in the world. 😮
Can you add the mesh to your existing network with a modem/router combo? Or do you need to get a modem and remove the existing combo unit? I want to add mesh, but I can't figure out if I can just add it to my existing network...
Yes, just put the modem/router combo in bridge mode and connect your mesh system
@@MrPontiac005 thanks
wire Mesh vs wireless Mesh for 3 Storey house
currently i am using Nanostation m2 and powerline m5 as soho router with wire
they suport 100 mbps and 150 mbps
and our ISp are providing over than their capacity like 200+mbps
Noob question but need help🙏🏻 I am moving to a new house and currently own one "TP-Link Talon AD7200 Multi-Band Wi-Fi Router" as well as 3 "Linksys
WHW0101 Velop Whole Home Mesh WiFi System".
The house is quite big and was wondering if i connect the 3
Velops via ethernet cables to the TP link, will it be one connection across the whole house and nodes being used as extenders??? Is setting it up easy??
Sorry if question sounds dumb and thanks in advance
Do they work together with each other?
Is it possible to connect mobile hotspot to wifi mesh and then share internet?
What to do when my mesh in my bedroom upstairs only reaches 4mbps while the router and mesh downstairs have 90+mbps? Doesnt that defeats the purpose of a mesh to begin with?
Is it better to get the deco mesh, or buy two of the same router and mesh them together? or they both the same?
Basically the same. Get whichever is cheaper
@@TechOdyssey Thanks for clarifying. Also, if my main router is AC1200 with one gigabit port, do i have to change the router or just plug the mesh to the gigabit port and have all the devices connect to the mesh?
I'm in an apartment where the Internet comes into a bedroom closet that backs onto the kitchen wall where the microwave is installed. I'm not sure how much signal degradation there is. I own an Archer AXE5400 as well as a DECO M9 Plus 2 unit Mesh units.
I don't have any WIFI 6E devices yet. Do you know of a detailed installation video with the detailed router settings to create a MESH
network. I have ethernet capability in the office area which is the farthest area from the router closet. Apologies for the long description.
What devices are you using for it and if you aren't going to use 6E or upgrade your devices to use it, what's the motivation?
Hi, I have tplink archer ax73 but not sufficient for whole house. What can I do? Does onemech and decomesh work together? Can i connect Onemesh with deco mesh?
Buy one piece onemesh extender or onemesh router
@@Blackbind01 so onemesh is better than deco?
@@cristian.rengifo i think deco is easier to manage overall.. onemesh is good if u alrdy bought the non deco stuff like me.. cos u can mesh without purposely buying mesh.. but since i have both, id say deco is easier.. and heres a few positives: easier and faster to load and see things, has dark mode, has built in speed tester, has native protection..
Have a nighthawk wireless router and home built with concrete floor and ceilings. Having bad wifi within room to room and nevertheless on the ground level. Any suggestions to have better wifi for laptop, phones and TV and the ground floor electronics-any tips are appreciated.
Avoid net gear routers. They all suck for concrete houses
My centurylink DSL router receives signal via phone line, we do not have cable, fiber where I live I live in the country. My router needs replaced “0ld” and not working properly and provides poor home coverage. So to go to a mesh system do I need to replace my old router/modem first ? Or do mesh systems have router built in?
Can i use 3 of the routers and make them a mesh of their own? Also can i add decos to a tp link router?
Why would you do that?
@@TechOdyssey cause I have a mesh system and I'm not impressed with it. Two BE95's On the 6ghz band I barely get 90 mbps sitting 6 ft away the 5ghz band used to give me 800+ and now it's dropping after only using them 2 weeks constantly to less that 500mbps yet my hard wire is always 970mbps. I think the WiFi is failing.
Hi, can you use the router (e.g. AXE75) as the centre of a mesh setup? (e.g. 3xXE75)
My experience with AXE 5400 has been 20kbps download speeds when 25feet from the meshed unit that’s literally 10feet above the one connect to the ONT box via cat8. These TP-Link mesh units don’t produce enough wifi to even download a 1GB update in under a day. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Every single router, literally every single one, is apparently garbage! I've looked at all of the TP LINK, NETGEAR, ASUS, UBIQ and so on and each time there is someone or more than one stating how garbage it is. Something feels odd about that.
@@SL1PSTAR quality control across all goods has nose dived since 2020. The amazon reviews look great but one review explains the issue of the mesh not properly switching as you move away from a unit which may be something to do with the ai or too much interference from other nearby networks running similar equipment.
@@BuddMonster420 I will definitely avoid mesh systems going forward as they appear to pull in the most negative experiences.
Access points is where I'm starting but I'm so tired of researching and getting nowhere.
I totally agree with the Amazon point you make though. 2 out 3 products from Scamazon are either problematic, unwanted, misleading or just unreliable drop ship garbage.
i kinda wish for routers they'd be a bit more upfront on the signal strength or antenna strength i guess it would be called.
i had a netear XM500 which had amazing antenna's good wifi through the house but the software was a hot pile of garbage for about 3 years and after some angry call's to my ISP which in the end turned out wasn't the ISP's fault was the damn router throwing a hissyfit i swapped to a asus AX82 which also claims to have great antenna's on the box but the XM500's were definetly stronger. it has compensated by not causing a single issue for the past 6 years (appart from that time asus pushed a faulty background update file and cripled the internet for a quarter of the planet :P)
Are you sure you're not the voice behind the "You got mail!" phrase?
Can you assist with this set up with Starlink. I'm assuming I connect the starlink adapter and hook to the tp link router and bypass the starlink router. Set up the TP link router and the mesh nodes to "speak" with the router. Is this correct? I'm not tech savvy and anxious. I have purchased the TPlink AXE7800 & the AXE 5400 Triband Mesh wifi 6E system Deco XE75 Pro (3pack) - help
I use tplink mesh with gocoax backbone. Working well everywhere.
I have a Verizon router modem combination. But there is coax cable hooked up to the router. I bought the Deco mesh system and my house is only 2000 ft.² I have plugged it into every outlet. I have upstairs and downstairs and my ring cameras which are 2.5 and five are not working properly. Do you have any idea what is going on?
Does the mesh system slow down download speeds if you have 3 of them all synced to the same network?
Discount code worked THANKS! I got the router.
Awesome very cool. I hope you enjoy it.
@@TechOdyssey Thank you. thanks for the review.
How well does it work, Att fiber optic modem

Hi
I have tplink ax55 wifi 6 router connected to the ISP modem. But i want to use the deco x55 mesh router. How can i utilize both?
good info thanks for the information very well presented
You're welcome. Glad I could help. Thanks for watching.
Please be careful with Megabits vs. Megabytes. Some people actually believe you.
Mesh : signal is great. But the max speed is same as that 2nd mesh max output....
Link the mesh to the Router.
Great video! I got the tp-link archer axe16000, and it says it can be a mesh network I need more coverage. What do you recommend?
I have a Netgear Nighthawk AXE120 and had issues setting it up as a repeater or extender. Not sure if it's worth trying again or selling for something that would extend my coverage further.
Would a mesh system/router be able to power ethernet ports throughout my home?
It has ethernet ports on it so yes. If you need more you can connected a switch.
wait you said you got 300-400mbps/sec download on your 1giga bit which is the extent of my wireless plan??
what do you mean aren't you supposed to then get 1000mbps download speed? 4:15
Stupid question, but can one of the mesh units act as the primary router or are they just for the mesh?
The main one can.
