I still play this one nearly every day and just recently realized it had another Charlie in the story. Did I mention I play this because my dog Charlie prefers this one and the Snow Day story and I’m convinced it’s because you so lovingly talk about him like he’s part of your story ❤
I know many have and so I wanted to write the dog version as some people requested (and definitely intend to eventually write a follow-up to the Cat Cafe).
Not five minutes in, and I felt a surge of energy and inspiration! I had to stop you, and get up and do some autumn-y things. Don't worry, I'll be back later. 😘🎃🍁🦆🍎
Thank you for these. This took my mind and my heart back to a life with my labs. The first was a rescue at 5 weeks from a puppy mill we were shutting down and went to 15. The other I picked up as a wandering stray no one claimed went to 17. cafes, parades, festivals and Halloween chaperoning of treats and giggles was our normal life. It took me a long time to even allow another dog into our family, and a special needs chihuahua was placed into my arms with a just take her for a few days and see. Several years later she’s the boss dog to a 100lb rescue who’s just been promoted to teaching the pup we adopted yesterday, how to dog in a home that will always be a home. I wouldn’t have said yes to any of them if I hadn’t learned from the first dog how to just gently love a dog unconditionally. He was worth the heartbreak. And would hope for others to be allowed to know safe, home, ease….and I’m only sad that I had to leave so many of them in the shelter I brought ours home from. I can’t unsee them. But the deep snore of full belly and soft bed this dog offers here after months on concrete floors and bright lights helps my heart a bit.
Thank you so much for sharing this. It's so beautiful and I know what a range of emotions comes with the deep connections we form with our pets. How lucky we are for all the happy times and experiences they can bring. Thanks for being such a wonderful place for these pups to live out their lives. I was so terrified when I first brought my pup home because to me it was such a great responsibility-- as much as having a child-- and I've wanted to give him the best life I could. They deserve it!

It's so hard waiting for Sunday nights and your newest meditation. This one was especially nice, talking about your pet's unconditional love. There's a poor dog next door who literally cries most of the day and night. It's locked up in a side yard with shade, water and food but no love. Very sad!
Oh, poor baby. They are so forgiving and I couldn't imagine treating a dog that way. Then again, I certainly get teased because my guy gets his own camping chair whenever I travel with friends and family and we have a campfire.

It may be... I thought about this when writing it. How hard the loss can feel because of how deep the love goes. I'm currently chihuahua sitting for a friend and for the first time the little rascal has mellowed and made this place a second home. She was a gift from a psychic in Times Square who said she foresaw my friend's senior pup dying soon (and perhaps some upcoming legal problems for herself) and so she gave my friend her chihuahua. Her name is Princess and I cannot go out for a walk without people making Paris Hilton jokes about me for having two.
@@MichellesSanctuary loving too deeply is a character flaw I reluctantly admit to owning. Comparing you to Ms. Hilton in my opinion would be a compliment to her.
