  • My name is Xanthe Wyse.
This is part 2 of responding & reacting to my video showing elevation into mania. I still get comments on it, years later.
My primary diagnoses are bipolar affective disorder (type 1 which has mania) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I also have other diagnoses which I am affected more mildly by. I have impairments (called a mental injury) despite treatments (medications, therapy).
Ending up doing 2 parts for responding and reacting to comments on my most viewed video on this channel, recorded years before I even started this channel.
    • Manic episode on camer...
It is a compilation of footage recorded over a month when I was off medications and in denial of the bipolar disorder (type 1) diagnosis. Into an approximately 7-minute video, which shows a dramatic change.
I am usually extremely introverted, so it was way out of character.
Most of the comments expressed gratitude and commended me for my courage.
Some asked what I saw as genuine questions, about the 'destruction therapy', driving etc.
There were also some trolling comments, accusing me of 'attention-seeking' being 'ridiculous' and an 'actress'. Stigma persists.
I've addressed some of the other questions and comments in part 1.
As for the 'actress' claims, I have nothing to gain by putting myself out there, with vulnerability (with risk of bullying). I haven't made 1 cent from advocacy and have never asked for donations for myself. I don't make a profit on my self-published books, which I spent years on (very challenging to complete with my disabilities).
I don't actually enjoy advocacy. However, ignorance and stigma persists, so I still feel it's important to speak up.
I mentioned my blogs in this video. Older blogs have been deleted but two blogs which are still up are:

My self-published books, inspired by my experiences, with theme of relationships with disabilities (focus on bipolar disorder, PTSD):
