i love how the two black holes merging sound like a quaint drop of water... but then imagine that sound with enough energy to basically shred this solar system in seconds...
If you made a copy of the solar system with antimatter and let both the solar system with the anti solar system annihilate to pure energy, the explosion would still be less powerful than the energy released from some of the black hole mergers we detected.
Why do it think that you live near me? Like on Thursday-Friday (11-19-2020 or 11-20-2020) there were like motorcycles and race cars zooming around some apartment buildings.
Daily chores should always be shared when a couple lives together. It's not a womans' job to clean everything in the home. And if you don't mind living in a home where unwashed dishes are rotting away in the sink, then simply break up with her. No one is forcing you to stay with her.
I used to work at company that was owned by Gary Scelzi and he invited my dad and I to be close to the drag cars. When they took off it was extreme! The sound really doesn’t register as “normal” sounds you’re used to when that close. It’s more of a very strong pressure mixed with some distinguishable noise. You most definitely feel the sound pressure pushing against you.
Born in USA in 1960 I was in awe of the Saturn's rockets sound, even on tv you could almost feel the crackle and rumble of that rocket. Great channel. Thank you.
@@Dyltheboy It is somewhat simplified, but considering the scale of some of these things, it's hardly an issue. Not 4 times as loud, only around 2.5. Not a big deal in my opinion.
@@Dyltheboy Considering that it rapidly escalates into steps of several dozen decibels, no, it's really not that big of a deal. The first few entries are off by a little, so little actually, that you wouldn't really be able to tell the difference. That 62.5% difference in power may sound like a lot, but it's hardly noticeable in reality. It's a logarithmic scale for a reason.
@@Dyltheboy It's not the same, obviously, but the difference is negligible. Since our sense of hearing doesn't scale linearly, 4 times as much power, when converted to audible sound, doesn't make that large of a difference compared to the reference power, let alone 2.5 times as much power. As I said, 62.5% increase between 4x and 2.5x. That is almost nothing on an exponential scale, which our hearing is based on.

Interesting fact: the specific type of thunder you’re referencing, of which the video clip you showed is indeed an example, is the echo of a positive lightning strike. Positive lightning accounts for approximately 5-10% of all lightning strikes; the vast majority of the thunder you hear during a storm is from negative strikes, which are significantly quieter, even up close (115-120 dB on average, while a typical positive strike easily surpasses 140 dB at the same range). The next time you experience a thunderstorm, listen carefully to each crack of thunder.
