    Today, we're diving into one of the most significant Marriage and Family Therapy models-- Strategic Family Therapy which was pioneered by Jay Haley. We'll be covering main concepts such as second order change, view of the problem, and main techniques such as directives and paradoxical interventions. Everything that you want to know should be in this video, and if you have other questions feel free to write them in the comments below!
    I have to credit AATBS for providing the anchor for these videos, I have a link to their study materials below. They helped me pass the national exam!

    This is an amazing video, I really needed to watch this. I’ve been stuck in the pain of losing my husband. I used to think breakups were easy, but now that my husband has left me, I feel completely broken. I can’t even eat or take care of our kids! I need him back so much. I’ve tried everything to get him back, but he doesn’t want our marriage anymore.

      I feel your pain, dear. I don’t think anyone can truly understand the pain I went through when my partner left me. I couldn’t have children, and I thought I would never get through it. But then, a friend of mine introduced me to a spiritual counselor, and he helped me reconnect with my partner. Now, I’m happy with my husband, and we have two beautiful kids.

      Wow, that’s incredible! Please, who is this counselor, and how can I reach him? I don’t think I can bear this pain any longer.

      @MarciaGerhard-e3t 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      His name is Father Akabu. You can look him up I’m certain he can help you. No one should have to go through this kind of pain.

    What most people don't know is that almost of them were students of Milton Erickson. Shall mention some of them: Hayley, Weakland, Minuchin, Watzlawick, Including Bateson and Steve deShazer and Insoo Kim Berg, Rossi and so on . How did the name Double Bind came from? It came from Erickson as he had been using bind and double binds for couple of decades. Strategic and Solution focused brief therapy are both extentions of Milton Erickson work. For those that don't know. Erickson is the most studied and written about psychotherapist of all time. He is also the most effective and efficient therapist of all time. Also has more documented case studies than anyone else. To this day no other therapist has contributed in so many areas of psychiatry and psychotherapy in the past century. I recommend Erickson and want you that no matter how skilled and educated you are studying Erickson would be the challenge of your career. Objectively speaking.
    P.s also Cloe Madanes.
    It's overwhelming, isn't it. Erickson also had deep and profound relationship with Aldus Huxley

    I absolutely love your videos. They are extremely helpful when it comes to assimilating these theories. As tech evolves so does the way people learn. Sometimes reading information does not get processed the same way as a lecture does especially for newer generations. I am so happy that you are providing this information. An excellent use of TH-cam!

    Thank you, Steph Anya. I am in a human services class right now and I am writing a paper with a scenario being a 17-year-old female having problems after her parent's divorce and they remarry. I have to give my initial thoughts and do an assessment of the case providing therapy that I think would work for the given situation. Thank you for explaining this in detail. I FINALLY understand it. The lecture they gave this week was pretty vague as far as what it all means. I will continue to watch your videos and learn more. I want to become an affective chemical dependency counselor. This will help me so much. Have a great weekend.

    I appreciate your examples of the interventions but I have a questions in regards to the paradoxical and positioning intervention. How can we know if the family may be appropriate for this intervention? Is it more intuitive or is there a criteria? You mentioned that this can quickly go amiss with families because it can spark up a lot of tension that can potentially lead to violence so I just want to know what families we can implement this intervention to. I also have a concern when implementing positioning. You also mentioned that with this intervention you are exaggerating the symptoms. With the example that you gave couldn’t it potentially go amiss as well? Lets use your example, you said “ yeah, when you guys are arguing because you hate each other” the goal is to stop and make them realize that their problem is not as big as it seems. My problem with this is well what happens if they get into a huge argument and the statement you mentioned “because you hate each other” come back into mind and they trick themselves into thinking, “wait I think I may actually hate my partner”. We then now have another problem of resolving these new feelings. I only thought of this because I thought of a person who may potentially have BPD who’s feelings are a bit more unregulated if it is not being treated let alone not diagnosed therefore not receiving treatment.
