    There is only one drivers manual and it covers ALL information from ALL trims. So one manual with all the same info doesn't matter which trim you got. So the manual will show GT features and how to use them, even if you don't have the GT trim. It'll show SEL features even if u don't have the SEL trim, etc. So it'll say like "How to use paddle shifters. 'GT trim only' ."

    Obviously this knob have all vehicles in other markets but in usa. When in 0 it is normal position, 1-5 positions are lower in case if you have three ppl in the back or carrying something heavy in trunk and car seats down, so you don't blind oncoming vehicles. I always cheated when had technical inspections, I set this button on 1 so I had better lightening at 0. Now in this car I have, lights are corrected automaticly.

    to be honest i was doing some research in this suv and the Ford Escape, and i ended up going with the Escape because i got a better deal and mostly everything i want with it. i did try to get this Outlander but the dealerships where im at were kinda sketchy and just wanted to quickly know my credit score and how much im going to put down. well anyways, im glad i went with the escape because even though the Outlander is big, it just feels like there is something missing from it. no rear a/c vents, no lumbar support in the front seats, the visor situation, not giving the right miles on the gauge, and other stuff i cant point out...but it just feels like something is missing here. the Escape i got is 2017 with 4WD, leather seats with lumbar support, 1.5 ecoboost engine where im actually averaging 27mpg and where i did a real test and i filled it up once every 8 days from the daily use of driving to work and once a week driving an hour more.
    even though i feel for Mitsubishi for trying to push back at their decline in recent years, they need to do more than just a 3rd row seat to get more of the market.

      What was your thoughts in comparison with the Ford? Have a link to the review? I think the 4 cyl is Fine in this Mitsubishi. I would opt for it over paying extra to get the 3.0. Likely last longer and get 4 or more better MPG. The power seems fine for it's purpose.

    I had a 2015 GT and now a 2017 GT. Likes: Good towing ability, great awd, lots of room, nice ride, great warranty, 6 speed auto transmission, paddle shifter (safety when slick) decent mileage, good bluetooth and steering wheel controls. Dislikes, value drops quickly, Adaptive cruise works but unusable due to constant beeping on acquired vehicles, loses avg MPG after 4 hours of engine off, sits lower than other SUVs and third row seating a novelty other than for small children. I'm keeping - not a moment of trouble.

    • @dj3114
      @dj3114 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Kevin A I did finally trade it off for a Hybrid Rav 4. While I like the Rav and no regret about the car itself, I should have kept the Mitz to retain money in the bank and wouldn't have gone out of warranty any slower than my current vehicle. The Mitz rode smoother and towed 3500. It did everything I asked and should have kept it to 100k and then just given it to a grandchild. They get bad reviews for people who have not owned or driven them for a long time. Best vehicle in the snow ever, that SWAC is the best I've seen.

  • @taywin9012
    @taywin9012 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think that mileage reader on the top is reading the current fuel economy in that given moment. So if you're driving 16 miles, but on the freeway at 70 mph I think it'll read a larger number meaning if you were to continue driving this way you'll get 400 miles on the range. But if you're driving 16 miles bumper to bumper the whole time the reading will drop down much lower and tell you that if you continue driving bumper to bumper you'll get like 280 miles in the range.....

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      NO.

      Just read the manual. I'm correct. You're wrong.

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I suggest you learn to read....instant MPG is what you are getting at the moment. AVERAGE mpg shown in the video is what the vehicle got AFTER RESET TO ZERO and driven 100 miles.....NOT instant mpg as you claim.....I am correct--YOU are wrong.

    • @taywin9012
      @taywin9012 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never once mentioned anything about average mpg. I was clarifying the confusion you had about the "numbers not adding up" referring to the difference between the instant mpg vs your total distance traveled. It's obvious you're a monolingual speaker who can't even get that right.

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can see you will need more schooling here..I should be charging my student for all this time but I will do it for free. So lets start at the beginning where we went from 400 miles to 330 miles in 16 miles of driving. That means out of a full tank of gas a range of only 91 miles or about 5 miles per gallon if that figure is accurate which any can see it is not....even the worst driving would never be less than 15 mpg....and the AVERAGE reading which is accurate showed 25 mpg.
      Bottom line----the AVERAGE computer is accurate and the RANGE miles computer was totally malfunctioning.....frankly worthless...which I demonstrated many times in the video.....which I think you need to watch again. Or stop watching this old video and watch my 2018 Outlander video.

    Still don't understand why the test of flying over speed bumps. The sign said 15 mph!
    Plus, CVTs are not designed for massive acceleration. Where does one ever need to do 0-60 anyway? If you say the interstate then you are doing it ALL WRONG!

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      A. Speed bumps are to test suspension comfort--as I clearly stated in the video. The procedure works just fine.
      B. I dont give a crap about the 15 mph sign--this is private property and it doesn't have any legal standing.
      C. Don't know what country (or dimension) you live in but here freeways are 75 mph, and if you want to live, you better have the ability to get away from the on-ramp and on the freeway ASAP. THUS 0-60 is very important. If you don't understand that YOU are doing it wrong--or living at the North Pole.
      D. Of course the CVT is not designed for massive acceleration--or anything else. They are GARBAGE.

    • @ronaldderooij1774
      @ronaldderooij1774 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      But.... I like CVT a lot. Seemless shifting, very economcal and comfy. Just don't race and CVT is just fine. I keep my revs under 2500 at all times. Even then it is fast enough to go to maximum allowed speed on the on-ramp.

    One big bummer about the 3.0L V6 is for some odd reason Mitsubishi requires premium 91 octane to get its mileage & power figures. Given it only produces 224hp (arguably the weakest V6 on sale in America) and gets low 20s MPG average it isn't really all that worthwhile.
    The Outlander is a bargain in the SE AWD trim with the 2.4L, but spec it any higher you're better off with something else.

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A new engine would be nice but with low sales that will never happen..

    • @foxtrot685
      @foxtrot685 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Until you realize that it produces 0-60 times that are competitive with vehicles offering 40 or so more horsepower with turbo 4-cylinders; the vehicle is lighter than much of its competition; and that premium fuel is not REQUIRED but RECOMMENDED by Mitsubishi. Required and Recommended are two different words with two different meanings.

    • @Trades46
      @Trades46 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      So I guess you'll continually feed it cheap jungle juice knowing full well the engine is constrained & constantly have the spark retarded? Not to mention with regular fuel your fuel consumption will also get worse (~17MPG if you're lucky). Knowing this I would much rather use a 2.0 turbo with premium gas and use less than have the engine be bottleneck by a shitty owner & penny pinching decision.
      There's a reason why this 3.0 V6 is not sold in Britain, Germany (rest of EU), China, India or even in its home country Japan; anywhere with gas as expensive as it is this engine makes no sense. Only Americans are dumb enough to still buy V6 & V8 engines while the rest of the world moves on.

    • @foxtrot685
      @foxtrot685 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Trades46 I own one and yup I do. In the winter I switch to regular because my trips are short and sweet and ambient temps are low. In the summer I fill up with premium because I do many road trips and go through many mountains and ambient temps are high. After a year and a half no problems, still has more than enough power to get out of its own way. Premium gas is NOT required but recommended. Two different words with two different meanings.

    What kind of idiot does 25+mph over a speed bump. They're there for you to slow down not speed up. And the sign clearly says 15mph. Smh. And expecting extreme acceleration on a 4cyl family suv is a bit dumb. It isn't a sport suv but the v6 does make a big difference. And mpg depends on your shitty driving, it will always change and update as your driving habits change

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      isreal: I see we have our selves a live one here so:
      A. I wasn't driving 25 mph over the 15 mph speed bump--I was driving 30 mph over--its called a "RIDE QUALITY TEST" or did you miss that part?
      b. Ohhhh my--the sign said 15 mpg limit on the speed bump? So what? It is private property so I can drive as fast as I want--and 25/30 mph is what I want--it is called a "ride quality test" or did you miss that again?
      C. I didn't expect extreme acceleration from that four cylinder engine, and didn't get it.....so what is your point?
      d. My MPG figures are REAL WORLD accurate.....if you want fake EPA figures quoted go to the fake other TH-cam videos...
      E. any more comments???? feel free to get educated.....

    • @The92jdmcb7
      @The92jdmcb7 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      chad haire lmfao. I'm not talking about epa anything I'm talking about normal driving. Your abusive driving is what decreased the crap out of the avg mpg. And I don't care about speeding I do that all the time. My point is the fact that you're complaining about noise when flying over speed bumps that are meant to slow you down. Any and every car will give a lot of noise response the way you were driving so quality test my ass lol. And educating me? I highly doubt it but nice try. Sorry I'm not an inexperienced 16 year old. I've been in the auto business for about 10 years now. Mostly with Honda /acura but also with Hyundai /genesis. So believe me nothing you say will '' educate'' me. I'm not here to insult you just don't like certain parts of your review so I commented on them, that's what the comments section is for after all. It's like those vehicles that have the bumper stickers that say '' for comments or complaints please call 1 800 xxx xxxx ''. But overall your review was alright. Pretty honest but also a lil exaggerated and not legit lol

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      SPEED BUMPS::::if a car has a soft comfortable suspension on the street it will be soft and comfortable over the speed bumps....if it is noisy over the speed bumps it is not soft and comfortable on the street. With 90% accuracy anyway. I have driven every brand of factory car -- about 2,500 in 30 years so I know what I speak on the issue.....and if the factories had an issue or complaint with my speed bump tests I would certainly hear about it--but they do not.
      Bottom line if I am complaining about noise a car makes when going over a speed bump there is something wrong with the car...because--if you watched my videos--most cars do NOT make excess noise on those speed bumps which is the entire point of doing the test to begin with...

      That's nonsense.
      Probably most SUV's are driven by females these days.
      Just look when on the road and you'll see as many females behind the wheel of SUVs these days and males.
      Tell me they aren't concerned with looks.....
      The Outlander may be a great vehicle.
      I don't know, but I am in the market for an SUV and we may take a test drive in one.
      Guess who will drive it 90% of the time? My wife.
      I simply commented that IMO the front end is ugly.
      Personally, I drive a full size Ford F150 4x4 truck.
