@@BrandonTBlackwell drinking and eating are 2 different things. Altrough they can overlap like with soup. Nobody wil say they eat smooties when you're supposed to drink it
I just noticed, Albedo calls himself the ‘builder’ of the omnitrix in this episode, while Azmuth is often called the ‘creator’ of the omnitrix. Maybe they’re both true, and Albedo is just the guy who assembled the omnitrix but Azmuth invented/designed it
This statement is not really about this breakdown, but I like the fact that in Omniverse, they made Albedo look like young 11yo Ben, just so they could keep Tara Strong, because the idea of this show was to keep the Yuri Lowenthal and Tara Strong Bens together, they found really creative way to made it happen regularly, young Albedo is one of them :) I don't know the franchise enough to remember everything about it, but from what I remember I like Albedo, starting with this episode ^^
When Albedo says “it synchronizes across space and time” He could be referring to the fact it synchronizes to real time or something. Like if he synched it at the time he made it, whatever signal he’d need would take super long to get to Galvan prime.
Yeah, even things like send a message via text has some sort of delay to them even if the delay is incredibly small. And the delay would increase the more distance there is. But if you could minutely manipulate space-time it wouldn't be a problem.
I always figured he meant the lifespan of the Omnitrix. Surely Galvan's have known about Tachyons and moderate temporal manipulation for millenia now. In fact this discovery is probably why Azmuth and Paradox even know each other. As there seems to be some sort of organic balance of which species can and can't manipulate time. Or it could have been futureproofing for times like when they swapped present and past bens minds. Or it's Albedo trying to look even more smart to a species he no doubt considers inferior. Scifi seems to love throwing the idea both towards human hatred and making it "Spacetime" instead of Space to generate the idea of extreme intellect in a species.
The space and time synchronization actually comes back up in Omniverse when Teen Ben and Young Ben switch minds. Paradox tells to transform into Chrono-Sapians (Clockwork) which Young Ben doesn’t unlock until later. But because both Bens press the watches at the same time, it allows them to both become Clockwork. Another time to note would be when Ben Prime and Ben 23 both turn into Grey Matter at the same time to undo the randomizer controling the other’s Omnitrix
My favorite part about Albedo's character is how unhinged he gets overtime. Dude went from "I just want to my old body back" to revenge murder plots. I love this sociopathic frog.
@Paulo SM They really did him dirty in omniverse. Bro got an updated ultimatrix, went Ultimate Grey Matter, stole Azmuths brain, only to be defeated by idiot Azmuth accidentally unlocking an OP transformation for Ben. Then to make it worse, he was turned into a child version of Ben
19:59 I feel like this is clearly Azmuth talking about Grandpa Max. Azmuth reveals in the Alien Force finale that he wanted to take back the omnitrix from Ben immediately, but Max was the one who convinced him that Ben was capable. As for why this is a "surprise", it's probably because Azmuth knows that Max is alive in the Null Void, but Max doesn't want Ben chasing him or getting distracted by Animo, and wants him focused on taking down the Highbreed instead since they pose a larger threat.
That's a good point. I was thinking that Azmuth was talking about Paradox, not knowing the "Time Walker" and Ben have already met. Y' know Paradox always knows everything* so its hard to tell.
@@ABF_x I was on the same page as you. Especially because he and Paradox act as if they're already acquainted with one another in "War of the Worlds Part 1," which is the first time we as the audience see them interact. There's also the exchange in "Forge of Creation" that heavily implies that Paradox informing Azmuth about Ben's eventual "grand destiny" as a legendary hero played a big part in his decision to allow him to keep the Omnitrix. Hell, even the statement as he's disappearing about how there will be many difficult trials ahead could be interpreted as a hint that he's already received firsthand knowledge from Paradox.
Albedo was such a nice twist on the "Evil Clone/Twin" trope. Like Kuro said, he's not a clone of Ben nor is he's Ben's twin. Just a guy who just so happen to look like Ben due to circumstances outside of his control and Yuri Lowenthal did an amazing job voicing Albedo in UAF and a few episodes of Omniverse. He uses his Ben voice but give him this intellectual tone and speech pattern that only a Galvin could provide, something I don't feel Tara did well since it just fail into the Evil Ben trope. And a point towards Omniverse more than UAF but I do like how Albedo's color scheme for his aliens are different from Ben's which play into the fit that Albedo's DNA got corrupted by Ben's omnitrix, it even carry over to his normal Galvin form which we saw in Ultimate Alien. In like Kuro said, if Albedo just been up front with them about his situation than maybe he wouldn't have to go through all that hell just to get his normal form but I think Albedo just being so irrational and egoistical is what makes him a great character and make all the episodes he appeared in going forward since a treat.
Albedo is my favorite kind of “evil clone”. He’s his own character, he has his own motives, and the only connection he has with Ben is a deep resentment. I love a clone who hates being a clone.
With Azmuth saying "there can only be one Omnitrix", and Kuro bringing up when we learn about Primus... We do find out in UA that other omnimatrix cores can interfere with each other's connections to Primus. In the episode where Ben goes to Spider Monkey's home planet, the Unitrix unintentionally messes with the Ultimatrix's connection to Primus meaning Ben can't transform And even here with Albedo we see that since both his Omnitrix and Bens Omnitrix are connected to the same database, Albedo's Omnitrix uses the original as all it's defaults.
@@BrandonTBlackwell well, at the very least the new Omnitrix can I believe the prototype and ultimatrix, if either still existed, would operate the same original way? Unless we follow the theory that Alien X rebooted the universe and changed some things and made it that Primus never existed and no Omnitrix has ever needed it But as far as i know there's nothing concrete to confirm or deny that But yeah with the new Omnitrix, unless there was ANOTHER rule we didn't know about, Albedo would've been fine
When I was younger I always thought that the reason that Albedo’s Aliens and Ultimate Aliens looked a lot more different in Omniverse was because the fact that when his human form got corrupted it would slowly get worst as time went on to the point where it not only started to affect his transformations but his aliens would no longer be just red eyed versions of Ben’s aliens and his Ultimate Aliens would get slightly different traits. Do you guys think this makes sense?
I actually think that is a really good statement I do like the idea how albedo keeps getting more corrupt and it affects his aliens I think that’s how pretty cool
@@davelevinbook2013 I think this especially makes sense with some of the major differences with Albedo’s ultimate aliens in Omniverse like the ultimatrix symbol having a more parasitic look to it and some of the aliens having slightly different traits like Ultimate Spider Monkey having six regular arms instead of those weird legs from Ultimate Alien
You can tell Kuro is off. He seems very emotionally drained as he speaks, but when he enjoys himself. It hurts to see Kuro upset. Hope that everything gets better
I noticed it too. Not just in this video but the last breakdown video. Managing multiple projects at a time can be difficult. Or maybe there is something else to it. Either way, I hope he feels better too.
The whole "it synchronizes across space and time" thing makes sense to me. Since time travel becomes such a prominent feature in the series, it could mean that no matter what timeline Albedo finds himself in, his Omnitrix will always sync up in real time with Ben Prime's. Maybe that's how Azmuth locks Albedo into 11 year old Ben's body, by changing the synchronization's "time-stamp" to a much earlier time.
Also unless the primus linked exceeds lightspeed, it would take a long time for the signal to reach the watch, so minimal time travel would bypass the distance delay
@@mickys8065 Yeah that's actually a really good point! I never gave any thought about Primus and how it sends the DNA signal to the watch.. It's a strong possibility, and I wouldn't put it past Azmuth to have the knowhow to make it so.
Honestly, I always felt bad for Albedo after ‘Double or Nothing’ in ultimate alien. Its seems like he’s truly cut his losses and just wants to get off Earth (not necessarily back to Galvin Prime, but probably just ANYWHERE) and out of Ben’s form. He’s tried to kill him twice now, even teaming up Vilgax and that plan ended horribly. So he learnt. Trying to take Ben’s omnitrix is not going to work so he ended up building a machine to fix his form. But to even build that, he needed money. He had no ID or legal identification, hell, probably not even a bank account. But he single handedly came up with a show (which making a whole successful stage show is impressive enough. He’s a scientist not a theatre kid) to use his predicament to help him earn money to eat. He wasnt trying to get Ben’s attention with the show to spite him, quite the opposite. He doesnt even explicitly claim to be the real Ben Tennyson, he could be claiming he’s just a look alike. But JUST as he’s earnt enough money to finish his machine, Ben walks back into his life and literally blows up all his hard work, accusing him that he was building a bomb and leaving him permanently stuck in a human form with only able to transform back to his original form for a few seconds. Honestly to me? That sounds like hell on earth, being never be able to go home and stuck in a body that isnt my own. I dunno, I guess that tugs at my heart strings a little. If the show had been a bit more adult, I wouldve loved to explore his body dysmorphia and his fish out of water life living on Earth. He’s an interesting character to think about and I dont think my what-if fascination with Albedo will die anytime soon.
Something interesting that I've realized when I watched this, post realizing that I'm trans, is, Albedo is in a way, a trans allegory. Namely, instead of being transgender, Albedo is trans-species. Changing from human to galvin. So, I understand Albedo's frustration with constantly being denied his correct species. He could've gone through with getting Ben's help in a much better way, by just asking. I will say, present day me, had I been Ben with my irl knowledge and experience, I'd worked to convince Azmuth to help Albedo and make him pay restitution for his crimes another way.
15:43 - I think the point with Brainstorm is that he is very much the meme of trying too hard to prove that he is smart. Like he is clearly capable of holding a conversation with Azmuth, and the Nemetrix being made by a Cerebrocrustecean as well is proof enough that the species is clearly meant to actually be smart, but his mannerisms are that of someone insecure in their intellect.
I also think that Albedo’s not just asking for help is kind of in character. Pride is a powerful thing that can make you do very dumb things. But still that's an interesting thought experiment, what if he had just approached the group and admitted he screwed up and because of past disagreements with Azmuth he's asking Ben and friends for help because Azmuth won't.
Yep, he's a Galvan with an overinflated ego. He would not even consider asking for help and just assumes that he could take Ben's Omnitrix and can turn back to his original form himself.
With the non-stop transformations overloading the Omnitrix part, I had always assumed the reason the Omnitrix didn't overload when he had the master control in the OG show was because the Master Control stabilized the problem with non-stop transforming, which was why it didn't power down in the OG show when he unlocked it
Now I am having this head canon now that master control not only remove the time limit and give the quick changes of alien just by thinking It also stablizes the omnitrix To stop getting overloaded.
Not a fan of the random "eye twitches when you lie" thing. Clearly meant to confirm that Albedo's lying and that's it. Why would Ben be bad at lying? We know he was a bit of a troublemaker as a kid. Great introduction to everybody's favorite evil twin otherwise.
It's not that he's bad at lying but that's just subtle muscle movement that he isn't aware of. Kinda like you know when someone is actually having a genuine smile by looking at their eyes
@@joti_astraI think it’s funnier to think that his eye twitches when Kevin is annoying him because Kevin is the one who brought it up in the first place.
which means he was possibly lying (we knew he admired vilgax and maltruant like ben prime with grandpa max, so maybe he was happy to be a sacrifice???)
I just fucking love how Albedo talks. He's just that perfect evil clone of a hero. Something that many other shows have tried and not quite got it like Albedo. And I also like that he doesn't want to do anything evil or destroy anything. Unlike Goku black, who pretty much is like the Albedo version of Goku, he just wants to return back to his original form, so his reasons are understandable.
Oh jeez, could you imagine a version of albedo trying to make a world with "Divine intellect" instead of divine intervention...which could almost sound like the highbreed. Then have that version of albedo somehow combine with a galvan version of himself
@@shoyru266 Holy shit! That would be epic. But Albedo doesn't really give a fuck about divine intellect. If anything, he likes that he's smarter than humans which to him, implies that he's higher than us.(which technically galvans are) Ironic how he's stuck in the body of one though......😂
@@kingtennyson5453 yeah, that is true. There's so much he could do with that intelligence too, maybe he'd feel something is missing if he did go the route of eliminate all life forms with lower intelligence. But now i'm wondering how would he pull off fusing with another version of himself?
@@shoyru266 He probably would have to time travel to another timeline to pull that kinda shit off but then, that would just become Ben 10,000's business. But really tho... Why does that dude fuck with time so much?
@@kingtennyson5453 yeah true, which also completes that comparison to goku black. But as albedo is, he does great...until Ben comes along to fuck it up but he does technically beat Ben in one part of a 2 part episode if I remember correctly
Kuro, everyone can see that something's up. Weather there's something going on in your personal life, or you're just not having a good time doing Breakdowns and need a break, just known that if you feel like taking a few weeks or months off, we'll understand. Everyone is watching these not only because WE love Ben 10, but also because YOU love Ben 10, maybe more than anyone else on TH-cam. The worst thing that could happen is that you stopped enjoying doing what you do because you're feeling drained, so please. Just take a break when you want to.
Very well put. Kuro’s love for the franchise is honestly so infectious and really reignited my own love for it. It’d be such a shame if doing these videos diminishes that just because he thinks we want these videos as often as possible
So was there ever a given reason why albedo didn’t use brainstorm for the intelligence? Like I know he’s trying to become a Galvin again, but surely brainstorm would be incredibly useful in trying to regain his original form.
@@maximoomega3691 He was Brainstorm when Azmuth was getting his brain extracted. It’s very possible Brainstorm has the power to interact and mess with other people’s minds considering Psychobos mind-controlled several mutant T’kustars. Maybe he was Brainstrom because it was necessary for that procedure? Idk lol
“I’m not the only one” could mean a myriad of People. Honestly, one that doesn’t necessarily spoil Max being alive is that Azmuth could tell Ben that Max believed it too, keeping with the past tense to make it vague. It could also be Gwen and Kevin, his teammates and friends, because even through the trials that come during Season 3 for Kevin, he still believed in Ben. And Gwen’s already proven it throughout the original series, and continues to do so. One more option here. One that not many actually think about. The Omnitrix itself. It’s a level 20 tech, so it has some form of sentience on some level, always giving the alien Ben needs, rather than a select few he wants. I remember reading a fanfiction delving into the idea of a sentient Omnitrix, and it would make sense. Ben has proven his worth, and the Omnitrix knows it.
@@halfaxle double checked, and it’s a series of fanfics, I remember that being the case, and the Author is “The Emerald Shapeshifter”. So check his page. The stories are: Alive, Here Me Out, Beginnings, They Speak, His Traitor, and They Live.
A good way the writing doesn’t keep the viewer too confused about the Ben vs Albedo fight is Ben does the standard shout out the alien name thing he normally does, Albedo doesn’t. When you have visually identical or shapeshifters with access to the same form pool in a battle, you need these touches.
With regards to Albedo, I’ve had ideas running around in my head, that I want to get off my mind, about how he might be slightly rewritten, after thinking about Albedo’s origin and how his motivations have changed across Alien Force to Omniverse (and the weirdly surprising amount of fanart and fanfic of people wanting a redeemed or at least more heroic Albedo). I imagine Albedo serving as more of a foil to Ben, highlighting some of his flaws while also reaffirming as the correct choice as wielder of the Omnitrix. To begin, the reason Albedo became a villain in the first place was because he felt he was a better fit for the Omnitrix, not trusting some mere human with its power. So, this should be reflected with how Albedo uses his copy in the time he spends not trying to restore his original form. Maybe Albedo does act as a hero in his own way, going around and saving alien worlds and fighting criminals or trying to use the Omnitrix in a more utilitarian manner in general, but compared to Ben, he’s more cold and logical, and also less openly empathetic; He’s the kind of guy that is willing to kill the few to save the many, contrasted with Ben who does whatever he feels is rights and sticks by it (for example, when he went back to save the Sentinel in the Perplexahedron). To elaborate further, Albedo puts more focus on using logic and his intelligence to solve crises, trying to find the perfect alien for every situation and calculate the best use. This is contrasted to Ben, who often uses the wrong alien, but is more creative in his utility and often finds a way to come out on top. I had an idea how this could be openly shown, maybe even as a bit of a meta joke with the fandom, in one fight, Ben and Albedo fight by transforming into Fasttrack and XLR8 respectively, with Albedo disparaging Ben’s choice since Fasttrack is slower, but Ben still winning by using Fasttrack in a more creative manner, playing to his advantages. Overall, Ben’s better morality, creativity, adaptability are what makes him one of the best choices to wield the Omnitrix, even if others believe they could use it better. To continue, Ben’s better qualities as a hero can play into Albedo’s flaws, namely his arrogance and maybe a superiority-inferiority complex, where maybe he tries to one-up Ben as a hero with his perceived superior qualities, and is mainly reflected in the Ultimatrix, which is literally about one-upping the alien transformations. Overall, Ben still wins by his better qualities mentioned before, namely his creativity and team work skills. In conclusion, this is part of an inner contrast that’s already present in the show, where Albedo tries to tout himself as a superior being, but is ultimately bogged down by his own irrationalities and ego. These are just my thoughts, and I just wanted to put them out there, and this felt like a good time and place to do it. Edit: On another note, I’ve thought it would be cool that, in a Ben 10 video game with extremely refined mechanics and accurate Master Control (the player can quickly switch between accurate aliens in real time combat for some crazy combos), Albedo would work as a boss by utilizing and switching between extremely powerful ultimate versions of the aliens, albeit with a more limited playlist if he doesn’t have an Omnitrix, but rather a genetic stabilizer. With the ultimates much too powerful to take on with a single alien, the player has to throw pretty much every alien and combo they got to take down Albedo, taking full advantage of the Master Control quick switch and the player’s greater alien diversity than Albedo if he is just using a genetic stabilizer, not an Omnitrix. This fight showcases how, when it comes down to it, Ben’s creativity is what allows him to come out on top, not just the strict abilities of his aliens.
With the prequel episode in omniverse showing what albedo was like before he tried making his own omnitrix, I can get behind the idea of him thinking he was more fit for the watch then “a mere human.” His constant questing to be rid of his ben form is compelling, but it also gets in the way of what he might do once its gone. So i’m conflicted. *but maybe he is as well?* Like I can see albedo doing things the way azmuth might’ve expected the omnitrix to be used; only to twist them around. “Walking in the shoes of other species.” Learning to best exploit their strengths and weaknesses. Promoting peace? More like Albedo setting up cabal alliances between some species and setting up others for infighting. Kind of like how kevin pretended to be ben while doing crimes. Thaat moght be a bit too much on the evil side but maybe if it took place during later arcs when albedo was pushed to hit mental limits? Hmmm I do think it would be better for ben to learn how to beat albedo’s ultimates by taking advantage of the abilities the evolved forms lose. Showing ben ingenuity and how the original forms aren’t made obsolete. I think i’d still like him on the villain side overall yet I think I wanna see him do some legit good guy stuff at least once! Also…can he have khybers cat? Saw some fanart of that and it was cute. Seems fair if kevin gets Zed
@@GreaterGrievobeast55 I really liked your idea of how Albedo would twist Azmuth’s ideals for the Omnitrix. And also, thanks for your point in the first paragraph, bringing up how interesting Albedo’s goal to regain his original form is interesting, but leaves him lacking when he gets it back. I alluded to this in my comment, with how Albedo’s motives changed, from wanting to regain his form to simple, petty revenge and a superiority complex by Omniverse. Ben even points out to Albedo that he’s now “a Galvan again! So go away and live out your little Galvan life somewhere, away from me!” This is part of why I find the potential rewrite interesting, as it gives Albedo a more lasting, specific motivation.
Because they turned Kevin into a good guy, and also changed how his powers presented, they lost the character who could fill the role of dark mirror to Ben (as in the alien shapeshifting/ powers aspect). Albedo, while I wasn't a fan initially, became a great way to fill that in. And I personally like what OV did in that it's only his thing to become Ultimate.
The “only being worthy to wear the Omnitrix” conversation is interesting, because I always thought Azmuth was talking about Grandpa Max (considering that it was originally sent to Earth for him, and Azmuth says as much to Ben in the Alien Force finale). I distinctly remember a line in the Alien Force final episode that Max convinced Azmuth that Ben was a better choice to wield the Omnitrix. However, Max is considered dead right now, so I think Azmuth is being purposely vague in this episode as to not reveal the fact that he knows Max is still alive. That’s just my interpretation, but it makes sense when you think about how Azmuth treats Max with a lot of respect. He probably heard about what’s going on in the Null Void or potentially tried to contact Max at some point after his “death” maybe.
honestly at this point having a firework show dedicated to Ben 10 on every one of his birthdays is really the only way he'd ever get recognition anymore, isn't it? This show is overlooked FAR too much.
When azmuth states that he isn’t the only one that thinks he’s worthy of the omnitrix, I think he is replying to paradox since he ends up in season 2 of alien force as well.
When you think about it it must be really frustrating being a Galvin forced to like in a human body because he would be able to feel his brain being slower and less smart
A few things from this episode: 1: the question of who Azmuth was referring to in the end, I immediately go to paradox as the answer since we know they both have interacted before and paradox even telling Azmuth about Ben’s future 2: This is like a head canon thing but I always liked the idea of the core that Azmuth took from Albedo’s omnitrix is the exact same one he was using to create the Ultimatrix though I don’t think this is the case 3: When Albedo mentioned that the omnitrix synchronized through time and space I think of the omniverse scene of when 11 year old and 16 year old Ben synchronized their omnitrices to both dial in Clockwork
Ya know, I really would've like Ben's disagreement with Azmuth's punishment to come up more. Though, since he only returns in the series finale I can see why you wouldn't want Ben doing that then. Still, it would have been nice if Ben offered to help him when he took the Ultimatrix. Maybe Ben still used the self destruct countdown but it was his offer that got Albedo to give it up. Have Albedo torn because he's going to lose access to the one thing that could possibly turn him back and Ben offers his help because he picks up on that. We could even have a story arc with him becoming more of a supporting character in UA. Occasion appearances with him in like a tech support and general advisor role and showing him slowly working his way to having like... a Unitrix of sorts using what limited tech the gang has access to. And hey, if you really wanted it, you could bring him back for like serious threats if he manages to gain access to like 5 or so transformations and give him the 10 minute timer since that was a fun little thing back in Classic.
Albedo is probably one of my favourite characters. I love a character that’s essentially a rival to the protagonist that can go head to head with them with the same abilities too.
It's interesting to me that Albedo somehow got Ben's clothes when he transformed. Like, I get why the ultimatrix does it, but why does Albedo's omnitrix give him the 10 jacket? I think it'd be cool if he was wearing like, Galvan-based clothing or something.
I think it just cause how he makes his omnitrix as when Ben detransform with the ultamatrix he always transform into his normal clothes, even when he is wearing space suits
Albedo is definitely one of the best villains in Ben 10, they could've very easily made an evil clone of Ben but it's just a lil dude who's just had enough of being trolled
I absolutely loved the play version of albedo. literally just doing his own thing, making a somewhat honest living, trying to return to his original form. it's just such a unique villain concept you hardly see done
Before i watch the video, i will admit ive never been super into albedo recolors in the community. However i did commision elmike to draw all the ultimate aliens and without asking him he actually did all the albedo colors for each one as a seperate piece. So ive grown to appreciate them because of that kind gesture
Honestly, I feel like it would’ve been more interesting if Albedo stayed a villain, but kind of wavered on either side of the moral spectrum; like he starts off entirely self-motivated, he comes around, but then he gets pushed to villainy. I feel like that could’ve led to some interesting discussion on redeeming villains and whether its a good idea to let them atone by doing hero stuff or not. As for who the surprise person was, my first thought was Max, but that makes it sound like Azmuth is hiding Max’s status from the trio which is kind of messed up.
Maybe azimuth was specifically instructed by max not to tell them. Max wanted the team on earth fighting off the alien invasion not aimlessly wondering the null void. I personally don't think it's messed up. I'd personally make the same decision.
I can't remember if it's ever alluded to or confirmed, but I always had this idea that being trapped in Ben's form had a mental impact on Albedo. I don't think it made him "dumber," nothing like that, but kinda like....if we imagine his Galvan mind as some hi-def 4K screen, being human takes it down to 360p; everything that was there still is there, nothing's been "lost," but it takes more effort to parse because his Galvan intelligence now has to be partially filtered through a human brain
Honestly albedo strikes me as a form of...I don't know what to put him as as I don't know the proper term for it. He hates what he can't have which is the respect of azmuth and he views each species other than a galvan as intellectually inferior, which while true in many cases makes the galvan race stupidly arrogant, and the fact azmuth knows how to undo albedos transformation means he would have done it sooner if albedo saw what the first thinker saw in ben.
For Azumth's respect, resentment is the best word that comes to mind. For his personaly as a whole, narcissim or an inferiority complex might explain it. Pettiness is also a good description
I feel like azmith was talking about Max, giving a little foreshadowing about how Max is still alive especially since Max was supposed to get it originally.
I think Albedo was created to fill the hole in Ben’s rogue gallery Kevin created when he joined Brn and Gwen. Both fill the slot for the similar power to the hero villain. Kevin being someone who has all of Ben's powers at once and Albedo being an alien who is stuck as a human.
11:38 in the episode "ben again" 16-year-old ben's Omnitrix does sync up to 11-year-old ben"s Omnitrix to unlock or activate the clockwork transformation so while not relevant I would say, it is still brought back up.
Hi Kuro, I started binging your breakdown playlist a while ago and just now I've hit the last episode you uploaded. I love this series and I'm learning so much about how hard animation is and it's giving me a greater appreciation for it. Thanks for this series.
I like how the cat at the start was like, "Human. What are you doing? I don't care. Love me. Now. Stop talking, human. Give me the pets and cuddles. I demand it"
Albedo’s actions in his first episode do seem counterintuitive. However, I think it’s because of a combination of a few things: one he’s a raging narcissist on par with cell saga Vegeta, two he’s stuck in a form that he absolutely despises making him perpetually angry, and three he’s trying his best to use his galvan intelligence but he’s limited to the brain chemistry of a fifteen year old human boy and all raging hormones that come with it also humans are inherently less intelligent than galvan so that’s also probably limiting him too. All that cooks up to a guy whose control over himself is probably extremely limited at the best of times.
I always found it strange that throughout his appearances albedo has some sort of addiction to chili fries and explains it as bens dna’s fault when in reality while ben likes them he is never shown to have the same extreme cravings My personal headcanon is that albedo himself becomes addicted to them after trying them but will never admit it even to himself so he justifies it as being bens fault which is very in character for him
Aaaah, Albedo! Love that guy too^^ by far one of my favourite AF era villains. I'll admit I am glad Omniverse gave him more - though I personally feel he was done dirty later on. He's a fun character, an unique take on the evil twin trope, and manages to be competent yet funny. And that Omnitrix vs Omnitrix fight is one of the most awesome fights in the series.
Im kinda sad that not only did albedo not get his Galvin body back in the end but he became a 10 year old Ben, wich kinda makes me sad when his story ends in omniverse in Malgax attack, he stays in that form and is forced to clean up the destruction he caused. It is deserved for all that he has done but it still makes me sad that all he wanted was to get his body back and he is still stuck in a human body.
@@marhan1332 but in Omniverse he did manage to get his own body back but still wanted revenge and became even more arrogant when he became an ultimate Galvan.
I think asmuth was referring to paradox, we know they're familiar with each other and paradox knows that in almost every universe Ben wields the omnitrix heroically
Or 6 to be more precise (Ben prime, goodbye and good riddance Ben, race against time Ben, Ben from the universe where albedo was stuck as alien x, Ben from the universe where the omnitrix prototype wasn’t destroyed and Ben 23)
@Axel Nilsson those are almost all the ones we see yeah plus the alternate ben 10k , but there's also no watch ben and all the others we don't see in the almost infinite number of universes out there
@@glenlewis1086 I don’t count Ben 10,000s because they’re Ben prime in the future even if it doesn’t become his actual future and with the Ben’s I mentioned only 2 comes back, 1 is canon to the multiverse yet never comes back, 1 isn’t canon to the multiverse and 2 was never shown at all in the show and no watch Ben never knew of the omnitrix because it was never invented in his universe and we never find out what he’d actually do with it because he only used it for a multiversal mission
I think azmuth was referring to Max when he said that Ben was worthy because we do find out in the season 3 finale that Max talked to azmuth saying that Ben was the better choice and isn’t it a surprise finding out that someone you thought were dead is still alive? Which makes me think that azmuth actually visited the null void at some point
Hey Kuro, everything ok? You seemed kinda down in the last 2 episode breakdowns. You’re normally really energetic and enthusiastic with these videos, but lately you seem like your a bit sad. I can definitely tell your still putting a lot effort in to these videos and having fun with them, it just seems like your not at your best. I hope everything’s is ok, and if not, I hope things get better soon. Thanks for keeping the series going, we all appreciate the work you do to keep the community excited.
I always loved Albedo , I got an evil Ben, got to hear more Yuri Lowenthal and Tara Strong , the chili fries addiction , along with the sass all wrapped into one
11:28 When Albedo says "space and time" it kinda makes sense, hear me out. The "space" part signifies distance, meaning it is an omnitrix user within the space that Albedo and Ben occupy, for example their galaxy. And not other galaxies or even multiverses. The time part is much easier to explain, it just means that it's rigged to the current time and timeline, that's why he doesn't look like Ben 10000, because it's set to the current timeline both Ben and Albedo Occupy. Love your breakdowns man, watched them all and look forward to many more. And if anyone's read this far fuckin red 5YL it's awesome, the art is amazing and the story is genuinely interesting, ok bye💀👋
He could be referring to someone high up in the plumbers chain of command, ordering that Ben be given free reign over earth’s alien activity seems like something a higher ranked plumber would have to give, and would probably make it easier for the galvans to request that order
Kuro back at it again with the fresh cut. Can I just say tho, he really rocks any kind of hairstyle he puts on his head. Like, its changed so much but he still manages to look as cool as ever. Like, damn, I wish I could rock any kind of hairstyle as well as he does.
If you've only watched the series or played the games, there's acutally a Scholactic Books Ben 10: Alien Force novella that Albedo appears in called "Double Negative" which was written by Charlotte Fullerton. It takes place in between this episode and the Alien Force finalle. It's actually a really amazing addition to the franchise with an actual math fact and the scientific definition of Albedo's name (delivered by Gwen, of course). Though there is some annoying lore dumps for new comers. But it makes up for the lore dumps by including Julie heavily in the main plot. This might not be very evident to most people, but there is a lot of parallels between Azmuth and Albedo & Mary Shelley's Victor Frankenstien and Victor's creation/son. Azmuth can be compared to Victor, seeing as they both crerate something that's "God"-teir science. Albedo is in a unique position to be comparable to Victor's son and Victor. Albedo is treated like crap by his mentor (possible dad figure?) just like Victor's son. At the same time he makes the same exact or closely paralleling mistakes as Azmuth, but doesn't go down the path Azmuth does. Edit: I could see this animatic for the song "Birth to My Creation" (th-cam.com/video/JNCpZv_rGeU/w-d-xo.html) from Frankenstein: A New Musical randomly popping up in Albedo's TH-cam feed, him listening to it, and liking it enough to learn and privately sing it in his down time. And if Ben found out about Albedo liking the song, he'd totally be a little stinker and lightheartedly mess with the lyrics at a certain point in the song to make Albedo trip up later on.
I think Azmuth was referring to Grandpa Max, a subtle nod to the fact that he's still alive. Could also be towards Paradox since they recently met, but he never gives an opinion in that episode. It was later on that Paradox comments on supporting Ben being a good person with it
Actually technically the statement "I should not have erased Kevins mark" is a true statement since Albedo would be stating it as a fact that Ben is a fool for doing so as apposed to referring to himself directly likely mitigating the eye twitch now that he has been called out for and is now made aware of it rather clever but he is still a Galvin afterall
@@axelnilsson5124 no Ben said to his face in amusement that it does twitch when he lies which means next time he speaks he's going to try to state a half truth to avoid twitching in an obvious way to his best friends
No he says "i" when he doesnt consider himself to be one and the same to ben 10 so its a lie, its like if a twin said "i" did it when the other twin did, its a lie
I would love to see a deep dive into anodyne. If Ben does contain anodite DNA in his omnitrix then we could see a fan design of what he'd look like. As well as other denizens of the planet.
Loving these Breakdown I love this episode only because of Albedo because of the negative version on a main character. 11:51 One of the reason Why I love him He has a better control over the omnitrix He just pop the dial and slam it very fast.
I also agree with you Ink tank, many people loved the villian version in Alien Force and Ultimate when Albedo first appeared. I watch this scene a while back and slowly realized how amazing his appearance was. But it's a shame that Albedo won't be coming back soon, but if he did come back in the New ben 10 series, then many of the fan would have appreciated it. My only question is... does Azmuth have the ultimatrix?
i really hope you’re doing ok kuro, u seem a little down lately. please know you can take as long as you need with these videos. i love the content but you guys always come first!
I always thought Azmuth's statement was referring to Max still being alive. Azmuth trusts Max and if Max has faith that Ben is the right decision for the Omnitrix then I think Azmuth would agree with him.
Albedo’s definitely one of my favorite Ben 10 villains. I never really cared for the “evil clone” concept, but it works well here. Have a great night/day everyone, and feel better soon, Kuro!
I wish albedo turned good or at least became an on again off again ally to Ben. Especially with the fact that it’s kind of cruel if everyone to not help him since all he wants is to be in his Galvan form again. There’s just so much potential with this character and I hope if the prime continuity ever returns we explore albedo more, so he can kind of get a scourge (from the sonic Archie comics) where he becomes stronger and evolves based being what he was originally.
I think that Albedo in concept is one of the best villains, on that he is as intelligent as Ben's smartest aliens, had a device that does just about every other alien Ben has, along with stronger forms to some of them, up until he lost the Ultimatrix in the next episode, which Omniverse thankfully fixed for the most part, although turning him younger wasn't something that helped him.
him turning younger could actually be used to good effect. He could probably pull on some heart strings on unsuspecting folks and and have others underestimate him.
One thing I noticed between AF and OS, in the third episodes of their second seasons, Ben fights against his own aliens. Kevin in Framed and Albedo in GCBC
The fact that Albedo looks exactly like Ben furthers my personal theory that in Alien Force and Ultimate all of Ben’s aliens are supposed to be clones of the original DNA source and not the best physical specimen of that race based on the collected DNA.
Indeed, plus the “best physical specimen” is an arbitrary concept. Humans can’t max out all their physical stats at once so I doubt most aliens could either.
Ben doesn't even eat chilli fries that often. I think albedo just like it.
I think word of god confirmed that
@@BrandonTBlackwell drinking and eating are 2 different things. Altrough they can overlap like with soup.
Nobody wil say they eat smooties when you're supposed to drink it
I just noticed, Albedo calls himself the ‘builder’ of the omnitrix in this episode, while Azmuth is often called the ‘creator’ of the omnitrix. Maybe they’re both true, and Albedo is just the guy who assembled the omnitrix but Azmuth invented/designed it
agreed Albedo worked on the software part of the omnitrix while azmuth worked on the hardware part of the omnitrix.
@@Waqas_Khan02 hardware is the devise, software is the code.

@@Sezenian I love that idea like he built the og shell and everything
This statement is not really about this breakdown, but I like the fact that in Omniverse, they made Albedo look like young 11yo Ben, just so they could keep Tara Strong, because the idea of this show was to keep the Yuri Lowenthal and Tara Strong Bens together, they found really creative way to made it happen regularly, young Albedo is one of them :) I don't know the franchise enough to remember everything about it, but from what I remember I like Albedo, starting with this episode ^^
Didn’t she also voice pakmar too?
@@thewanderingcreative7173 Yeah, I think, but it's a minor role, it's different from voicing the main character :)
Also it's a fitting Punishment Azmuth gives him, to not only be human, but a child at that.

When Albedo says “it synchronizes across space and time”
He could be referring to the fact it synchronizes to real time or something.
I think it's that the link between Albedo's Omnitrix and Ben's would persist no matter where he goes, even if he were to time travel.
So it IS a watch.
@@LiterallyEveryone217 it was funny tho
Still, he also made it clear that he wanted the omnitrix for himself!

@@LiterallyEveryone217 i mean he had what he wanted

19:59 I feel like this is clearly Azmuth talking about Grandpa Max. Azmuth reveals in the Alien Force finale that he wanted to take back the omnitrix from Ben immediately, but Max was the one who convinced him that Ben was capable. As for why this is a "surprise", it's probably because Azmuth knows that Max is alive in the Null Void, but Max doesn't want Ben chasing him or getting distracted by Animo, and wants him focused on taking down the Highbreed instead since they pose a larger threat.
I was thinking the same thing
@@SoRandom31 We have the same wavelength, maybe they're like Ben's and Albedo' Omnitrix, synced

Now let's just hope that one of us doesn't become a vengeful palette swap of the other 🤭
Albedo was such a nice twist on the "Evil Clone/Twin" trope.
My fav evil clone is spectacular's eddie brock.
He’s my second favorite
With Azmuth saying "there can only be one Omnitrix", and Kuro bringing up when we learn about Primus...
We do find out in UA that other omnimatrix cores can interfere with each other's connections to Primus. In the episode where Ben goes to Spider Monkey's home planet, the Unitrix unintentionally messes with the Ultimatrix's connection to Primus meaning Ben can't transform
And even here with Albedo we see that since both his Omnitrix and Bens Omnitrix are connected to the same database, Albedo's Omnitrix uses the original as all it's defaults.
@@BrandonTBlackwell well, at the very least the new Omnitrix can
I believe the prototype and ultimatrix, if either still existed, would operate the same original way? Unless we follow the theory that Alien X rebooted the universe and changed some things and made it that Primus never existed and no Omnitrix has ever needed it
But as far as i know there's nothing concrete to confirm or deny that
But yeah with the new Omnitrix, unless there was ANOTHER rule we didn't know about, Albedo would've been fine
It would make sense given the fact that uaf albedo has the same skin tone as ben yet ov albedo has gotten noticeably pailer since his last appearance.
That is now my official headcanon.
the appearance wont really change much since his omnitrix is still somewhat connected to bens omnitrix
i think that one of Albedo's most consistent character trait is that he never admits his mistakes. He never said he was wrong about anything.
You can tell Kuro is off. He seems very emotionally drained as he speaks, but when he enjoys himself. It hurts to see Kuro upset. Hope that everything gets better
Same here
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed, I hope he's OK
Did something happen to him?
I thought I saw something in the last one but thought it was just me.

So true. I felt so bad for him. But Ben was lied to about that bomb thing. If he knew the truth he wouldn't do that to albedo.
@@joti_astra And is the reason Hugh the Vaxasaurian is to blame for.
Yeah. I feel bad for Albedo and I've never liked the idea of forcing him to be in the wrong body as a form of punishment.
@Paulo SM This
Something interesting that I've realized when I watched this, post realizing that I'm trans, is, Albedo is in a way, a trans allegory.
Just want you to know we all really appreciate the work and effort you put into these breakdowns.
Amen
True and we love this channel
15:43 - I think the point with Brainstorm is that he is very much the meme of trying too hard to prove that he is smart. Like he is clearly capable of holding a conversation with Azmuth, and the Nemetrix being made by a Cerebrocrustecean as well is proof enough that the species is clearly meant to actually be smart, but his mannerisms are that of someone insecure in their intellect.
Well yeah, because Cerebrocrustations are always second rate compared to the Galvans. Thus the constant need to show that they too are smart.
The whole "Where is Ben Tennyson?!" at the beginning brought chills down my spine the first time ever. I missed this.
With the non-stop transformations overloading the Omnitrix part, I had always assumed the reason the Omnitrix didn't overload when he had the master control in the OG show was because the Master Control stabilized the problem with non-stop transforming, which was why it didn't power down in the OG show when he unlocked it
Now I am having this head canon now that master control not only remove the time limit and give the quick changes of alien just by thinking
It also stablizes the omnitrix
To stop getting overloaded.
That never happened afterwards tho. He lied many times but he eyes never twitched at all.

Given later context, when thinking about it, I assumed he meant Paradox and via paradox a myriad of other civilizations.

A good way the writing doesn’t keep the viewer too confused about the Ben vs Albedo fight is Ben does the standard shout out the alien name thing he normally does, Albedo doesn’t. When you have visually identical or shapeshifters with access to the same form pool in a battle, you need these touches.
I love Albedo, he has so much personality even if it is influenced by Ben himself.
*but maybe he is as well?*
Like I can see albedo doing things the way azmuth might’ve expected the omnitrix to be used; only to twist them around. Hmmm
I do think it would be better for ben to learn how to beat albedo’s ultimates by taking advantage of the abilities the evolved forms lose.
Man, people really forget that Albedo is just a Galvin stuck in Ben's shape, don't they?
Well yeah
what? That’s his main thing pfft
I legit didn’t know that until the omniverse episode ‘a fistful of brains’
Because they turned Kevin into a good guy, and also changed how his powers presented, they lost the character who could fill the role of dark mirror to Ben (as in the alien shapeshifting/ powers aspect). Albedo, while I wasn't a fan initially, became a great way to fill that in. And I personally like what OV did in that it's only his thing to become Ultimate.
I can tell kuro isn’t enjoying the breakdowns like he used to
It's not that, he just seems to be down I hope he's okay.
Kuro is such a cool guy, I also hope he's doing well.
Kuro take a break yo. Upvote obey comment so kuro can see
sounds like he has a cold.
He almost seems a little more nasal? I wonder if he’s physically unwell. Then again, idk if it’s polite to speculate
Are you talking about Ben?
When azmuth states that he isn’t the only one that thinks he’s worthy of the omnitrix, I think he is replying to paradox since he ends up in season 2 of alien force as well.
Hey Kuro, I know there is likely alot of pressure for these videos, but honestly, if you need a longer break, whatever the reason may be, take it man.
When you think about it it must be really frustrating being a Galvin forced to like in a human body because he would be able to feel his brain being slower and less smart
I didn't think there was gonna be an upload today, I literally just finished watching the Ghostfreak arc breakdown
A few things from this episode:
1: the question of who Azmuth was referring to in the end, I immediately go to paradox as the answer since we know they both have interacted before and paradox even telling Azmuth about Ben’s future
2: This is like a head canon thing but I always liked the idea of the core that Azmuth took from Albedo’s omnitrix is the exact same one he was using to create the Ultimatrix though I don’t think this is the case
3: When Albedo mentioned that the omnitrix synchronized through time and space I think of the omniverse scene of when 11 year old and 16 year old Ben synchronized their omnitrices to both dial in Clockwork
kuro is the only person who can legally get away with that haircut in 2022
Ya know, I really would've like Ben's disagreement with Azmuth's punishment to come up more.
Same reason I love him any kind of fiction that has the clone of the main character but is a villain is my favourite
Yeah
I absolutely loved the play version of albedo. literally just doing his own thing, making a somewhat honest living, trying to return to his original form. it's just such a unique villain concept you hardly see done
Before i watch the video, i will admit ive never been super into albedo recolors in the community. However i did commision elmike to draw all the ultimate aliens and without asking him he actually did all the albedo colors for each one as a seperate piece. So ive grown to appreciate them because of that kind gesture
I think Azmuth was probably talking about Max, like he maybe could guess that he was still alive, given how smart he is.
Damn, I'm never this early to a breakdown video before
Honestly, I feel like it would’ve been more interesting if Albedo stayed a villain, but kind of wavered on either side of the moral spectrum; like he starts off entirely self-motivated, he comes around, but then he gets pushed to villainy.
Albedo is probably my favourite villian from Ben 10
He's like classic series Kevin, a guy with Ben's powers but more cold and calculated
I love how Albedo slowly goes more and more insane with each appearance; It's a nice little arc of sorts.
“BRING ME CHILLI FRIEEES!!!!!”
He really is an awesome character 😂
A narcissist maybe
For Azumth's respect, resentment is the best word that comes to mind. For his personaly as a whole, narcissim or an inferiority complex might explain it. Pettiness is also a good description
Gotta agree with the ones above.
I always found it strange that throughout his appearances albedo has some sort of addiction to chili fries and explains it as bens dna’s fault when in reality while ben likes them he is never shown to have the same extreme cravings
My personal headcanon is that albedo himself becomes addicted to them after trying them but will never admit it even to himself so he justifies it as being bens fault which is very in character for him
Pretty underrated villain if you ask me also I hope you're doing all right kuro you don't seem like yourself lately hope everything is going okay.
I'm really happy to see another breakdown come out! I hope you're doing well Kuro! :)
Ben celebrating a C+ on a subject he struggled with is the most relatable thing
There's a lot of character development in these episodes, and by that I mean Kuro's ever evolving hair style
Same here
@@marhan1332 but in Omniverse he did manage to get his own body back but still wanted revenge and became even more arrogant when he became an ultimate Galvan.
Appreciate the work you put into this kuro. Hope your doing good dude.
Albedo is one of the reasons I wanted white hair as a kid
Lol
I was just checking the channel to see if u uploaded then I get this notification

When Albedo says "space and time" it kinda makes sense, hear me out.
I loved UAF albedo so much. He's such an interesting character and I had so many fanfics about him just trying to get his body back
He could be referring to someone high up in the plumbers chain of command, ordering that Ben be given free reign over earth’s alien activity seems like something a higher ranked plumber would have to give, and would probably make it easier for the galvans to request that order
Can't wait for the omniverse breakdown some people hate it. I loved it growing up
Was not expecting this breakdown but hey this is one of my favorite episodes so I'm glad you released a breakdown with this one
Tbh I always like to headcanon azmuth and albedo to be a kinda messed up father-son figure relationship
I think Azmuth was referring to Grandpa Max, a subtle nod to the fact that he's still alive. Could also be towards Paradox since they recently met, but he never gives an opinion in that episode. It was later on that Paradox comments on supporting Ben being a good person with it
Yeah, either one of those two
I love seeing anything Ben 10 it makes me enjoy how much the fandom is still alive
That would imply that Ben and albedo shares some kind of psychic link as well as appearance and impulses
@@axelnilsson5124 no Ben said to his face in amusement that it does twitch when he lies which means next time he speaks he's going to try to state a half truth to avoid twitching in an obvious way to his best friends
I guess since he technically is "Ben" at that moment, it does not register as a lie to the subcontious behavior when he says "I"? Idk.
Kuro the stylist with the new hairdo everytime we see him
I always loved albedo as a kid. Evil doppelgängers are my favorite and he’s always entertaining
Loving these Breakdown I love this episode only because of Albedo because of the negative version on a main character.
11:51 One of the reason Why I love him
He has a better control over the omnitrix
He just pop the dial and slam it very fast.
According to Derrick J. Wyatt
Azmuth take some few parts of the ultimatrix and destroyed the rest after the omniverse.
@@Waqas_Khan02 what parts exactly?
@@praetorianrex5571 Ultimatrix
But which part he took will be a mystery forever.
Oh? Is it Friday already?
Also, is everything alright Kuro? It could be me but it seems like you're not enjoying the breakdowns as much as before.
It's Monday where I'm at.
@@maximoomega3691 that was a joke

@@maximoomega3691 it's also Monday where am at
i really hope you’re doing ok kuro, u seem a little down lately. please know you can take as long as you need with these videos. i love the content but you guys always come first!
I always thought Azmuth's statement was referring to Max still being alive. Azmuth trusts Max and if Max has faith that Ben is the right decision for the Omnitrix then I think Azmuth would agree with him.
Same thoughts, my mind too straight went to Grandpa Max after he mentioned 'it's a surprise!'
@@GreaterGrievobeast55 I suppose it could, but he usually just went straight to Ultimate Humungousaur anyway, so it didn't end up having much effect.
Kuro's hair morphs to match his emotions
One thing I noticed between AF and OS, in the third episodes of their second seasons, Ben fights against his own aliens. Kevin in Framed and Albedo in GCBC
Good job, Kuro. I really appreciate your passion for this great franchise. I send you my regards from Egypt. Always keep it fizzy!
