We get an update from Beirut, after at least 20 people were killed and 450 others wounded in Lebanon on Wednesday when walkie-talkie radios across the country exploded without warning, the second day of an apparent Israeli operation targeting Hezbollah members by booby-trapping handheld communication devices. A day earlier, at least 12 people were killed and thousands more left with gruesome injuries when pagers began exploding across the country. Lebanon has banned pagers and walkie-talkies on all flights, while Lebanese citizens say they now live in fear that everyday household electronics could suddenly explode. Among those killed in the attacks are children, medics and other civilians. "This has been widely reported in the Western press as a sophisticated campaign that targeted alleged Hezbollah operatives, but the reality is that, for the most part, these explosions were occuring in civilian areas," says journalist Lara Bitar, editor-in-chief of the Beirut-based independent media organization The Public Source. Bitar warns that Israel's "terrorist attacks" could be a prelude to a larger assault. "The Israeli government has already taken a decision to escalate, to wage full-scale war on all of Lebanon."

It's not very likely the detonation signal would have reached the pager due to the altitude and distance from the signal which had to he localized.

A region is “stabilized” through violence until all enemies are subdued or stalemated, THEN and only then a period of peace through stability of mutual interests develops.
The reason we as humans come back to repeat this cycle is because the people forget and become attracted to authoritarian or “strong man” leadership. These leaders are often driven more by a lust for greater power than the benefit of the people or world.
Religion can also mess up the stability and peace of a region. Bad leaders will use the name of religion for their own personal gain. Or they may be religious fanatics that throw all rational thought to the side in the name of some holy war that they believe to be uniquely anointed by God to carry out.

First off I don't know if Israel is responsible. What I do know is that the USA should have already declared this an act of terrorism. We would have if the suspicion fell on any other group or nation. IMO we haven't for the simple fact that if It has an Israeli connection the US will be involved in state sponsored terrorism and or condemnation of states like N Korea, Iran, and others will be seen as hypocrisy.

Yeah….agree with all you’ve said except calling the group that suffered from the holocaust a “nation” when in fact there was no nation of Israel. It was made up and made into reality for this exact excuse/cause with no historical or ethnic basis in the region. The occupation and push for settlement of Palestine began in the late 19th century but it was really kicked into motion, stripping Palestinians of their homeland in the post WWII years, unfettered and blatantly committing ethnic cleansing as a response to their own holocaust IN EUROPE. The nations that suffered the holocaust were European nations. Let us not make minor historical errors, these nuances matter to the discourse and to the present more than we realize.
I dont think you understand what is happening in the middle east. No matter what people tell you Hezbollah declared war on Israel on October 8th. This is one day after October 7th, Hezbollah launched rockets into Israel and said they did this in solidarity with Hamas. No attacks by Israel before they sent rockets into Israel. Hezbollah leaders can say they are not at war but they are at war since then, because ever since then rockets have been fired and Hezbollah has moved closer to the border.
I don't think you understand what this means, its a different kind of war. It isn't the kind which is being fought in Ukraine. The war there is being fought in uniforms and with military units on the ground with tanks. This isn't the same thing.
To further prove that Hezbollah are in a state of war internally. They had told their people a long while back, probably in Febuary to discard their phones, to lock them in iron box's because they can be tracked and located. This is why they are using pagers. So in a state of war - the military will not be moving in civilian spaces, but these guys are moving in those spaces while in a state of war.
This method of using expoliding pagers isn't a means of killing every Hezbollah member, it is because they wanted Hezbollah to be afraid. When they are afraid they will stop escalating this issue in the north. Let us not get this twisted, Hezbollah could end this by stoping the firing of rockets into another country.
Every since October 8th - which is when Hezbollah started this conflict. Israel had to evacuate everyone near that border. This is because of the rockets and because Hezbollah have moved closer to the border. I wonder what a country like Israel should be worried about by seeing Hezbollah moving closer to the border. I mean taking a page out of Hamas and kidnapping people seems to be popular with terrorists.
Since the evacuation their people haven't returned home. It is coming close to a year since then. They need their people to go home and able to work and be at peace. So that is the goal of using any other type of warfare to diswayed Hezbollah from forcing an actual ground invasion to push Hezbollah back to where they were before October 8th.
So seeing these reasons. It should help to make you understand why using fear instead of an actual ground offensive is better. Again no one in Israel started to shoot rockets into Lebanon. So really think this through.

On 6 April 2023, lots of rockets were fired from Lebanon into Israel, wounding civilians. Twenty five rockets were intercepted by Israel. Why was that not condemned, but when Israel retaliates, it causes an outcry?
