  • I've tried using my 2016 Honda Accord Touring Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system with a Trash can but it failed, multiple times, so dont trust it at all that's why computers and technology will never replace humans.

FCW is forward collision warning. That's the beeps I heard. The car isn't going to stop. That would be Collision Mitigation Braking. You're only showing the warning. And by it beeping it is working. It's not a scam. Learn how to use the car & what the terminology means. Remember it's a "warning" and not actual "braking."

Again, it will only warn you. It will not brake for you. Read more about it here: www.honda.com/safety/hondasensing-and-acurawatch

Apparently, CMBS is integrated with the FCW. So if the FCW kicks in and the car detects a collision after you didn't brake, it should apply the brakes to lessen the force of the collision.

No he had it set on Collision Mitigation Braking, and the Honda technology video says the brake warning will flash in red in your console then slowly apply brakes until a crash would happen then it will stop the car before impact. Its just not 100% but in normal weather it should work but it doesn't.

@@rickwells9929 Honda sensing will only stop the car if the speed is over 10 MPH or 15 KPH. Therefore, FCW works

I have a 2016 Civic touring. I had system problems. My question is it just a “Warning system”. Does it stop the vehicle when you are in cruise control in rush hour traffic. My system did stop my car in that situation for the first year. Then the system went out in year two. I will ask the dealer does it have to be in cruise control to stop the vehicle?

I have a 2013 accord touring and it does work and slows you down if and when you get to close but just recently the FCW light did come on and now it doesn’t even beep or anything

FCW is a feature to warning of possible collision not meant for your car to stop automatically that’s what happens when it beeps

again its not a self driving car, you have to keep ur eyes on the road at all times, my 2018 accord hit the brake once for me because i was about to hit someone. its like someone telling you to watch out. at least it beeps back at you and it give you warnings which is a good thing.

Ive never felt my car actually brake on it's own with the FCW. The only thing it does is beep and flash or occasionally shake the steering wheel when I'm approaching a car or object a little too fast. But after I bought the car and did some research it seems like the system in the 2016-2017 Accord wasn't designed to actually stop the vehicle only to slow it down to lower the force of impact. Im also not sure how fast u have to be going for it do this though bc I believe I read the system will try to bring speed to 21 mph or less? So basically u still crash just not as bad? I find the sensing package mostly overrated and gimmicky.

Go faster. Its Forward Collision Warning. Not Crash Mitigation Breaking System. CMBS Activates after 10 MPH. I have a 2016 honda accord touring and it works perfectly fine.

FCW stands for Forward collision warning.
It’s literally what it means WARNING.
What stops is another system, AEB which is autonomous emergency braking.
I can’t believe people due not read what’s in front of them 😂 do your own due diligence before blaming others for your own negligence.

It’s not designed to stop for a trash can. It’s designed to stop for vehicles.
