THANK YOU RB, you saved me almost 3 grand. I sent the module to a repair service and now my Honda has no lights and my module is under warranty.
Nice good job!!!! Excellent
Where did you send your module too if you don't mind me asking ?
@@215ftr search on eBay for abs moduel repair it will show up msg them they will guide you
@@RBTheMechanic so if I remove it myself I can bypass removing the brake lines or I will have to disconnect the brake lines if I am going to send it out for repair? Thanks in advance
@@215ftr u don’t need to remove any brake line watch my full abs moduel remove and replace video
Make sure to file a complaint with NHTSA. It’s the only way to get an investigation started and force a recall. It’s obvious this problem is super common and one that should not be happening. The dealership quoted me $2,600 to fix my son’s car. 2013 Honda Accord Sport with just over 80k miles. He’s a college student and travels the highway to come home to visit, so not fixing it isn’t an option. Always one step forward, two steps back.
Yup every one come togatherrr this is an issue just will happen on ur accord and $2800 repair
Yeah my moms got a 2014 accord and it’s got this problem. I’m hoping it’s just the speed sensors at the wheels. Is your problem constant or interment?
Im reporting it now.
And in Canada?
Honda quoted me $3k for VSA module replacement which is backordered.Crazy!
Exactly right. Why not a recall. I had mine randomly go out twice on a 2010 accord on the road. Had the master cylinder changed and a few weeks later, it went out again.
How it doesn’t fail and allow the car to still brake is astonishing.
Yeah they need to refund people or replace it free
Thank you for sharing information.
It's not often that a mechanic gives an opinion of a car maker to take responsibility for a defect. 😀
Yeah this one is defiantly bad
Yu76
Module Repair Pro, Van Nuys CA look them up about $250 to repair (8 of them so far, fixed issue and with warranty)
Yup!! 👍
Some videos on TH-cam show that the problem can be fixed by replacing the sensor at the wheel, not the ABS module.
@@veramann that’s if u got the wheel speed sensor code
👍 good job and highly appreciated
Thanks for liking
Thank you so much i soldered all pieces . And it work all light are gone! thank you so muchhhhhh
Nice good job!!!
Thank u so much yur amazing hermano
You are very welcome!!!
Long time my friend you are the best
Yup thank u
This problem made me go through a nightmare. Changed battery, and alternator and then had this done. The problem being its such a specific issue that caused me thousands in just diagnosis from various mechanics! Still not completely fixed after a refurbished service.
Did u have it rebuilt? What codes u have
@RBTheMechanic I may have to check on the codes but it basically had display light up with LDW failed and ECW fail. (Still does) and I did an eBay AbS vsc brake module repair service, new battery, clean terminals, took apart display unit and new alternator. Still resets like 6 times a drive and gets worse on backing up.
@@axs7689 have you fixed the problem yet ? If so what was the problem
I bought Honda Accord in 2014 . Same problem started in my accord 2.0 after 135000 km and 6 yrs of ownership .
Yeah lot of issue with these
I have the same problem but I don’t wanna put a used one in because the same thing is just going to happen. So imma try to solder these myself. You just gotta watch putting to much heat to the board.
Yea true I seen the rebuilt one new better contacts
Are CR-V and Civic also affecting by this issue? If so, what years should I avoid?
2013 and up all Hondas have same issue
I am having intermittent vsa, eps, fcw, ldw, warning lights all come on together. I am getting codes U0416-68, 85-01, 81-20. Do you think sending the module to have the electronics repaired by module master would fix the problem?
I think this might be same bad moduel
Any update on your car?
@@eyem27 we replace used moduel u should send urs out works great check out my other abs moduel video I show full replacement

I sent mine to module master in Idaho. Thus far the problem has not returned since putting it back in
@@joelnoles4530 oh ok cool it’s resolved
Question have you seen if the circuit board is bad the issue will be intermittent? I have tried a couple different reader but waiting for another to arrive to check the abs codes
The contact wiring I show is the only issue I see
The failure on mine happened weeks apart. Wasn’t until I changed the master cylinder and had it happen again that I found out the real issue.
Thank you finally found a scanner to read the abs got a 121 11. Tried getting a new modulator from a local Honda on back order no date must be making a new version
@@jaybird7140 prolly wasent related to chaning master cylinder
Pretty sure mine is a hairline crack in the wiring he points out. Mine is freakishly intermittent.

LOVE IT! 😂
@RB The Mechanic, is it safe to drive a car with all warning lights on?
No the systym is not working it will not control the car if it skids or making sharp turn
I have all of the warning lights going on a 2017 honda cr-v. Would you think the abs module could be the problem?
Before anything please
Scan the abs moduel for codes
@@RBTheMechanic will do and keep you posted. Thank you
YES! They need a recall!
Yup
One other question sir. All these tractions lights abs etc dont alaways come up. Its like every other time . Is that weird or what? If abs connecti3s were bad wouldnt these lights always be on?
Yes the broken wires inside might make contact and then brake off again with jumps and pot holes scan the car
@@RBTheMechanic no codes come up at all. Tried a few times with my own scanner and Auto zone
Is it the same problem at the accord 2019 X generation?
I have not noticed it on 2019 yet or have any come in with this issue. Yet so far
Good morning, I was wondering if I remove the module and send it out to be repaired, is it safe for me to drive the car until the module is re-installed? Should I wrap the modulator (the metal part) to prevent any damage to it if I drive it? Thanks
It’s not safe
@@RBTheMechanic thank you for your prompt response and thank you for what you do.
Can i get one off eBay from the same year civic and would it's be plug and play? Or does it have to be programmed??
It just plugs right in I have full video but I don’t think used one is good idea u can send ur to rebuild on eBay they have service for rebuilding it th-cam.com/video/ZYoRcWPGbb8/w-d-xo.html&feature=sharea
I can't find one with the same numbers as mine. However can find one from the same year and model. If the numbers aren't the same is it still plug and play? Im being told it has to be programmed and bled by Midas. I'm having Midas fix mine. However I really want to know if they are plug and play even if they don't share the same numbers but are off the same year and model.
The problem I have rn is that I use my car for a living. I can't have my car down for days on end while I'm getting mine rebuilt. So that's why I'm asking. If I put one from the same year and model in would it work until I get mine back from being rebuilt? It would save me a ton of money if I could find the answer to this question. I can't find one with the same numbers as mine but can find one off a car that's the same year and model. I would like to know the answer to this before I spend 2000 to have Midas do it.
@@1inflorida u can send the old moduel back there’s service on ebay they rebuild it $250 he charge but ur car will be down for a while or u can buy cheap one used and send it to them for rebuild and then u have it and swap it and sell ur old on for repairs
RB STRIKES AGAIN!!!
Lol honda is stricked out
My nephew had the same issue with his 2017 honda accord sports. Problem after problem the easiest fix was to buy a toyota highlander, problem fixed. this was three years ago no issues.
Yeah those highlanders r the best
@@RBTheMechanic i wanna like the hondas but their quality just fell down as they implemented technology into their cars.
My kids 2014 civic flashes the lights, power loss to 20mph the. After a few min of driving it it disappears and drives great again. Reappears again w/o warning. Honda dealer couldn’t diagnose because there were no lights or hesitation.
Oh ok possibility could be anything scant the car with high end scan tool for memory and pending codes
Helping my dad with this issue. Stupid issue.
Did u scan the car for codes
Damn I think that’s my issue as well it started with the lights being on intermittent then the lights stayed solid and now my tpms light is one I was able to to reset it but now it’s back.. it flashes for 10secs then it stays solid
Scan the car for codes and AB’s moduel codes
Will do.. last time I scan the car no codes came up at all but I did go to auto zone and used their scanner
@@RBTheMechanic code may be different
It depends on which terminal of the signal wire is the problem.
@@imtoxicking yup
Exactly how mine started. This fix worked for me.
nice. is there an update to the module repair?
Not that I know of
@@RBTheMechanic my bad. I meant, was the tv repair shop able to solder your module or nah? great video btw 👍👍
i hope this was a comedy. I loved it when continuity beeped and he said, "Bad honda "
I thought when checking continuity and you hear a beep that meant there is no break
Should be recalled! I spent so much money already. Ordered the Vasa module which is on back order..its already been 6 months!
Yeah they should refund everyone
File a complaint with better business bureau
File a complaint with NHTSA. There’s already several on file, but it will force an investigation and ultimately a recall.

Looking at their board design and the fact that they need to connect two circuit boards together, that is VERY POOR engineering on Honda's part or whoever manufactured the circuit boards! This should definitely be recalled! People paying over $2500 for a manufacturing defect is ridiculous! I would have used male header pins on one board and the female counterpart on the other board to interconnect the two OR ribbon style cable with with connectors on each board. I'm guessing the broken connections occur due to vibration after time putting stress on the under guaged jumper wires and lack of vibration dampening on the boards and to box.
Yup poor quality and engine
My country too much problem the ABS
I have a 2013 Civic with the same issue. The dealership is asking for crazy money. I am at my wits end.

@RBTheMechanic but doesn't it have to still go back to Honda to program?
@@jeromegriffin8775 nope get it repaired from eBay service they repair the wires and it all u need to do

Your use of continuity checking does not prove bad.
You, sir, have no clue.
A continuity check verifies that the connection is good when it beaps. A bad continuity check would result in no beap and the screen reading OL for open loop.
