Polar Vortex Froze The LAKE OF GIANTS!!! (Second Biggest Ice Fishing)

- This ice fishing season has been a roller coaster. Thin ice, 15-20" of snow on top, heat waves, polar vortex, and a few others my little brain can muster at the moment. It's taken some sketchy situations, some planning, and some work to get on fish safely. After this string of negative temps we headed south in search of a 20 pound channel cat, at the only place we've ever iced a 20 pounder. The weather had a fish in a funk so the quantity was low, but the quality.. The quality was top notch.

The more and more I ice fish, the more and more I've come to think that it's just an excuse to drink. And I'm perfectly fine with that.

Crazy watching the videos from up here in Maine! So similar at times but also so different. You ever want to come up this way I got places to stay house and a family cabin. Witch is on the water plenty of open and hard water stops to hit

If you want to come ice fish in Wisconsin I am more then happy to show you some lakes for walleye and pike! My biggest pike on the ice is 38 1/2 inches and weighed 15 pounds and I released it back into the lake! Would love to meet you and see a video of you fishing in Wisconsin!

I was prepared to spend a couple hundred dollars on propane this winter but i only spent $16 so far. I live in minnesota which has the largest difference in temperature change and is considered to have the harshest winters of any state and I was fine with fishing either without a pop-up with no heater or a pop-up with no heater. It's insane how warm it is. None of the fish schooled up. When they did it was insanely hard to find the crappies. I used to wish for a warm winter but damn is it hot outside.

I live all the way in north of the state and we’ve only just gotten consistently good safe ice everywhere about a week ago. I’ve seen years where there’s already 20 inches of ice by January 1st. What a crazy mild, snowless winter. At least by our standards.
@@shanelizotte6318 got a cabin in casco by sebego and on our lake had 7inches. My pike spots has ten in southern Maine. Hope you find some cuz it's here

Fishing and more get this man on some big lake trout I can't say I've ever seen stash man laker Fishing probably one of the hardest fighting fish in fresh water especially that I've ever caught it would definitely be fun to watch though cats are one of my favorite fish to catch love the vids keep it up 🤙

I live in Indiana and fish a reservoir in Richmond. February and March and catch a tone of small Channel Cats. It is always open water so I fish off of a dock. They are all .75 to 1.25lbs. Great eating but no big ones. Wondering why?

Ur only using a 8in hole… figured u was using 10-12 i have n use a Russian 9in one

I don't know why you don't just drill out bigger holes to begin with knowing what you are fishing for
95% of channels fit through an 8" hole. The last 2 were just in the top 5%.
