28:23 I think he revived Obelisk in defence mode, because in the anime they have an unspoken effect that if the god is in defence it will take the attack instead. That’s why Dark Magician stayed on the field. Just like when revived Slifer saved Obelisk from RA.
Which is interesting because one of the GX Sacred Beasts, Hamon, has a similar effect when it's in defense as well. Giving a little extra credence to the crack theory that the Sacred Beast cards were failed attempts at recreating the God cards, hence sharing some similarities and some "godly" abilities but being incomplete and malformed imitations. Even them fusing into one greater being resulting on a chimeric abomination in Armityle instead of a beautiful angelic deity like Horakhty.
the Noah arc could've been so much better if it happens after battle city. In the manga everyone besides kaiba and mokuba was heading back on the blimp so Noah could've high jack to two air crafts and start his season with that
They had to do it during Battle City, because they caught up to the manga at that point and needed something to buy time. Same reason the Orichalcos and KC arcs exist.
@@darkknight5541 Awakening the dragons and the KCGC I'm fine with because of it's placing in the series. And ik they had to fill time but idk couldn't they do something different to have the god cards more screen time. Like some time of dream season where everyone on the blimp fell asleep as an evil spirit like Freddy duels then in their dreams. It would at least keep up with the magic theme and give Yami marik some duels and wins
@@darkknight5541 I'll also admit it does sound like how the Noah arc started. But if it's a dream arc you can pretty much have some if not any remember or not remember it. Plus the arc could have something like a Bermuda triangle theme to it
OMG, yes!!! Thank you!!! Not only that, but it would've made much more sense in the long run, giving Kaiba the wake up call (and character development) he needed to fully let go of the past and all this hatred he was still harbouring after the Duel Tower. Confronting Gozaburo, Mokuba telling him off, realizing that Mokuba was always there by his side and that he was never really alone, and getting help from both ally and foe alike... That would've done wonders for Kaiba's character going forward if they went in that order.
The second virtual world arc really gets a pretty bad rap but I think it help to introduce Kaiba's back story back from the original manga run and season 0 quite nicely into the anime. I like the anime version of what happened more to be honest, with Kaiba actually winning the chess match fair and square unlike in the manga where he cheated.
Joey did a good try on beating Marik in a duel, but it wasn't enough. He was too exhausted to duel. If Joey wasn't out-cold in the middle of the duel, he would've won.

@@ThomasTenma I will admit, that does sound awesome.

I thought the virtual world arc was very interesting
But how do you cheat in chess? Mystery!
Kaiba was such a sore loser. He was ready to blow up Kaiba Corp Island right after he lost to Yugi and forget the BC Finals.

Fun fact? If Joey summoned Jinzo right away? He'd have won easily. Mai as well if she hadn't just summoned Ra? Would have won against Marrick too.

Tea is useless back in season 1, that was two seasons ago, but now in this season, Tea is getting better as a duelist, unlike Tristan
Funnier?
Tristan has to be the weakest of the group he barely duels cause his dueling skills have gotten rusty
