    I'm rear wheel drive to the core, but Honda proved that front wheel drive can be fast. One of their many contributions to the automotive world.

    I love Honda. Owned a BB6, currently have an ES2 as a commuter, looking for a DC5 as a fun, nostalgic, weekend project. It's an awesome, capable drive, but man, I'll never get over that engine sound and those looks. I generally agree that turbo>VTEC (I have an RS3 on order), but IMO the soul of a Honda is high revving, screaming VTEC. Times are changing, that's for sure! Great video as always, Fenton! 😁👍

    I've own a type R and couple weeks ago rented a 2022 GR86 on Turo and loved it. I really want to get one...so I started watching your channel. Love to see that you enjoy the FK8 platform as well.

      Haha I did the opposite! I own a BRZ and Turo’d a Type R and loved it! Both are great cars.

      @@retrograde11 It's kind of weird. But sometimes the Type R feels a little too good? Shifting is smooth. Driving in traffic is practically painless in traffic. Power is great. Comfortable ride(after replacing the stock 20s to 18s). It's basically the perfect daily driver for me. But when I drove a GR86 it made me miss the things that I love about driving. Much more raw feedback when shifting gears(if you shift wrong the car will jerk). And the handling of a RWD car is just simply different. Overall the Type R is absolutely the "better car" but I think the GR86/BRZ is more fun.

      The only time rwd is more entertaining is when you drift. Try doing that on public roads and you're looking at an impound and lots of tickets in most states. Which wheels move the car rarely matter anymore even on the track. Suspension tuning and chassis makes way more of a difference.

    Best FWD? This shifter is reportedly one of the current best and Honda did some clever engineering to reduce FWD torque steer. Although, one could argue the Integra Type R with it's high revving N/A engine, light weight chassis and superior double wishbone suspension, seems like a compelling contender to me. My RSX would be in the mix too if it weren't for it's garbage steering and suspension. Some swear by the GTI, Veloster N, Focus, and Fiesta. Sounds like a Zygrene FWD comparo vid is needed 👍

    Fenton, how does the Type-r compare to your BRZ? Which on would you say is more fun and engaging to drive?

    • @Zygrene
      @Zygrene  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Type R feels more serious and focused on speed whereas the BRZ provides more driver engagement and fun. The difference is - you can make the BRZ feel more serious with mods, whereas modding the Type R will probably just increase its performance without necessarily changing its no-nonsense personality.
