- I recently acquired a set of new xenon headlights for my w210, one of them being a genuine Mercedes-Benz part and the other from Hella. Hella is the OEM for the w210's xenon headlight. The lights are identical beside 1 marking and the sticker, and the box. I go over why the headlights fade and what happens to the lights internally.

Very informative video, I've found your entire W210 series very very useful so thanks... I've got a facelift E55 (year 2000) and the headlights are completely shot, lens really faded and the wiring inside looks like a complete disaster, bare wires, looks hacked up a little, do you know if the aftermarket projector headlight units (depo and similar) can be swapped in to completely replace the factory xenon units? I'm really not sure how to tackle mine... :( thanks!

The only mufflers offered that bolt on are from supersprint and eisenmann. Otherwise I would recommend finding a good exhaust shop and having a vibrant performance muffler welded on.

If you look at certain cars mainly the ones with black window borders that should be chrome...alot of times if you don't get the chrome trim or highest trim level...they will just paint the chrome black.....
Hey amigo. Love your videos. We met at HB State Beach in 2019. I was riding my bicycle. I want to only replace my Xenon bulbs- I’ve done the others. I have a 2002 W210 E55. You mentioned it’s bulb number D2R. Where do you recommend I buy them? I understand they fade over time- is that true? Thx! Keep up the great job! Also I’ve been using Jet Seal by Chem Guys on my resurfaced headlights. So far they seems to be holding up well but I’ll let you know once the summer sun is back- started using it around sept/oct. Sure holds up fantastic on my black paint through all this rain! What other product do you like to protect them from UV damage?
They are actually D2S and there are LED solutions which connects through the D2S to the ballats. Give considerable increase of light output, hard to tell how long they last though....
They are not D2S. The headlights are even stamped D2R.

The best Xenon replacement bulbs available to purchase for the correct D2R bulb is the Philips Xenon X-TremeVision Gen 2. They offer the highest lumen output out of any bulb that is available for the D2R bulbs. You can find them on Amazon. Xenon bulbs will degrade over time but will usually last quite a while. I have only ever had to replace one of my bulbs in my last 9 years of ownership, although I should have replaced them in pairs. The best product to protect the headlights is paint protection film.
Thanks guys! I want to stick to Xenon vs LED bulbs for my headlights. Figure my 2002 is over 20 years old with 155,000 miles- I’m wondering if and how much the xenon bulbs have degraded in output??? And whether it would be worth replacing them- lumen output would be noticeable.

Unfortunately, the computer reads the H7 bulbs, if you put random kind of H7 leds without enough resistance, the check bulb will be triggered. Just a notice. Otherwhise great video! 🤘
Not true for the high beam. I am running H7 LEDs and no error.
@@SoCal210 Maybe the later year facelift models did something differently, I own the first facelift year (1999) and the high beam H7 leds trigger the bulb error
