Ive recently returned from a 17 day stint in the USA and these Utes are beast. There is loads of them on the road and there is also some pretty specky big fords too. awesome video, thankyou for sharing
Can't wait to see part 2 - part 1 was awesome. We have a 2500HD on order and hopefully will get it later this year. On your caravan do you have disc brakes? Ours is still being built and we are having the Cruisemaster ATX system installed but they have asked us do we want discs or drums? Could you please educate me.
I love the slate gray so much!! I have a 24 high country 1500 and I almost bit the bullet and got this exact truck LTZ dark essentials 2500 dmax ! But I somehow got $12,000 off the sticker of my midnight edition half ton so I just couldn’t justify $20,000+ more for the 3/4 ton mehhh maybe down the road
I am looking at a new or older 2500 HD Chev . I seen too many not happy people with the 300 lc and I have a3.4 ton Kedron van so far this is looking good and I need help with my decision . Thanks in advance
We totally understand Gregory. I say it time and time again, these trucks and designed and built to haul and wow do they do an incredible job. If you need to chat further I’m happy to jump on a call with you.
Awesome units. Yes they are big and have their limitations but what a terrific towing machine. They work out cheaper than a extended Landcruiser or the like. We tow a 3500kg van and our Landcruiser 200 is at its limit (has a 3800 GVM upgrade) from an design and engineering perspective. You also have the tail wagging the dog scenario, where the tow vehicle is lighter than the towed mass. Not good physics! I think we will see a lot more of this type vehicle on our roads moving forward and the will be doing what they are designed to do "Haul a big load". Ram & Chev have the market jump at present but I believe we will see Ford introduce the F250 option in time once the F150 gets settled in. When you drive one it is a "Oh yes" moment, comfort ,power and tech all in one great package.
For the price they charge couldn't they build those orange side reflectors into the body panels to make them look a bit neater, I know they need them for Australian Roadworthy but they look like they are bought from Repco and slapped on.
I thought you guys and other TH-camrs are advocates about having a towing licence , funny how you never mentioned it at a press event, right place to make your point.
@@AussieDestinationsUnknown WOW really A truck that tows over 4.5 ton HR needed. Maybe join the council to get your point across the line . Everyone has a choice to tow 3.5 ton on their license. Everyone is a virgin once. Different positions come with experience.
@@ronlorettaburrrows8651 Ha. That’s right. The more you fcuk around the more you find out rule applies. But it’s all about that truck that can tow on a normal license and free donuts
The BTC of the truck has nothing to do with needing a special license. That is in regard to the GVM of the car. For example up to 4.5t GVM is a standard car license. 4.5-8t GVM is LR. This event was about GMSV showing the latest model oem truck to the media/press. It was a corporate event and definitely wasn’t the place to raise that or talk about modifications or upgrades or licenses.
We are the ambassadors for GMSV and it’s not ideal to be seen in an outdated model when there are some massive updates like there are this year - we explain in next weeks video 😁
When I worked in a panel shop grey was an undercoat it looks terrible as a main colour every time I see a car in that grey undercoat I think it needs to be painted in a colour . Not a fan .too much technology in these new trucks /cars how much of it will still be working in 20 years time ? Or do you have to upgrade every few years and pass all the problems onto someone else . I will stick with my low tech 18 year old cruiser with less technology and no problems still going strong with no issues.
Yeah unfortunately there isn’t enough demand for right hand drive. I definitely wouldn’t go near electric, it wouldn’t have anywhere near the range for what we do.
It always cracks me up when people say American HD trucks are too big for our roads but we have some of the worlds largest registered prime movers on our roads.
Hi Chris & Miriam. Could I ask you a question, nothing to do with what this video is about though. I just wanted to ask you what are your opinions on etc on your new OGO Origin compost toilet. We are considering installing one in our caravan.
We love it!! We did a comparison video on Facebook at the show with the gentleman who imports them both. Here’s the link! fb.watch/rnp8WLqizX/?mibextid=w8EBqM
Correct…they are build to tow. And when you say useless for Fraser and other places, that’s a series exaggeration. We’ve been touring in one for 4 years now and rarely had an issue with accessibility and zero reliability issues. 🤷🏻♂️ As for American trucks on Fraser? Watch this space.
@AussieDestinationsUnknown ok thanx. Would love one and sounds a but petty but at over $100k plus I personally thought that they would be able to replace the navigation so you wouldn't have to utilize a phone. But that's me. I knew you can't have everything but as I said for the price. Thanx for a quick response. Take care.
@@rogerb4436 Gary here from Canada, my chevy trucks have navigation here but it is not that great, so we all just hook up to Google Maps through Android or Apple Car play. Factory Nav is a waste of money, so your actually lucky they never put it in.
Absolutely brilliant! Looking forward to part 2 now already...Thanks for sharing and welcome back.👍
Thanks Roy!! Appreciate it buddy

Hooray!! Looking forward to this one. Hope you guys are ok and well.....Love to you both from us two in the UK.🥰
It's a fun little video! Our lives are very different now to what they use to be - haha 😆
That Slate Gray is badass 💯
💯 💯 💯
What a Beast. Can’t wait to see the mods. Wish I could afford one. Love the colour.
Thanks so much! Mods incoming 😁👊🏼
Just sold my current Silverado which was quite sad but I absolutely can not wait to pick up my slate grey 2024 in a few weeks.
Wahoo!! You’re going to love it 👌🏼😁
@@AussieDestinationsUnknown Will a 2500 ZR2 BISON be imported to the Australian market? Also only 6.6L diesel or also a 6.6L gas ?
No, not as far as we are aware

Glad you liked it guys and congrats on your new up and coming setup. I’d 💯 go disc brakes. I think they work better and are easy to clean.
That was awesome, love the truck and the one million features

1 kg 🍩 now i would give that a massive crack 🤣😂

Yeah not ideal but it’s part of ADR
Are they really a Truck, or a large Twin cab ute?
It’s called an American truck. You can call it a Ute if you like - but American Ute sounds as weird a F-Ute 🤷🏼♀️
@@AussieDestinationsUnknown Yep in the States .

It's a pity they don't come out from the USA RHD.This will be both Chevy and Ford's downfall. The electric options will come RHD and flood the market

Impressive trucks but for Australia they are too expensive, too wide and poor parts availability
Totally disagree with this. Do your homework and see what it will cost to build something that these do standard out of the box. Nothing compares
