    What an amazing vehicle. Those camera capabilities are straight from NASA 😅 Down hill braking control is a dream technology. If you could kindly give me the winning lotto numbers for next week, I'll buy one 😅 Thanks for such an interesting perspective on the car.

    Great interview with Shawn guys, but with all your tech questions, would we be correct in saying your new vehicle will run stock suspension? As you stated, it rides awesome and comfortable for 6 hour trips, etc. As your last vehicle was massively modified?
    Just interested... because you Implied it's ready for touring as is... No GVM or GCM required, etc.
    Thanks for the update.

      Definitely not! Ours will be built into a tourer with a canopy, boat and all the extras. We’d be illegal and overweight if we kept it standard. But without adding all that, you could leave them standard easily if you weren’t doing stacks of corrugated roads like we do. Same as any vehicle - if you’re doing brutal corrugation a lot - you’ll destroy the shock absorbers. But if you do it occasionally it would be fine. It most definitely ready for touring as is. There are plenty of standard Chevys towing vans around the country. Not everyone wants or needs a full super-tourer like we build.

      @AussieDestinationsUnknown Thanks, guys, agree and safe travels.
      On a side note, have you discussed with GMSV why they don't offer an upgraded suspension for touring to suit Australian conditions and travelling like you and a lot of others do?

    Hi guys, recently subscribed and have been watching your video's, thanks for sharing. I live in Qld and am about to pull the trigger on the 2024 Silverado 2500HD. One question if I may? Any downside that you're aware of if I have it initially registered as NB 1 and then later on down track if I need the extra payload have a post rego mod plate to NB2? I already have licence to allow me to drive NB2 but If I don't need extra payload I'd rather not have the restrictions for NB 2 like 100kmh speed limit, yearly TMR inspections, 0 alcohol limit etc.

    • @AussieDestinationsUnknown
      @AussieDestinationsUnknown  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Hey Kevin...Congrats buddy, you're going to love it. It's not a problem to GVM upgrade to NB2 later down the track but this will only be a SSM plate which means it's only mod plated for the state you are in. This won't affect you driving it in other states but if the rego was transferred into another state this would have to be done again. That's the only downside that i see.

    Did you have to install a camera on the back of your caravan from GMSV? Or is that a reverse camera from titanium that’s compatible with the Silverado?

    • @AussieDestinationsUnknown

    Looks great but the Silverado FB forums tell a story of poor support from most dealers and long waits for parts. It would appear that most dealers have gone the same way as Toyota and won't honour warranty if you have ANY mods to your truck.

    Only thing going from a dual cab ute that needs a car license to a dual cab truck I need to get a truck license your calling them trucks so it's a truck licence I need to have ?

    • @AussieDestinationsUnknown
      @AussieDestinationsUnknown  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It’s short for PICKUP TRUCK - which is what they are. Ours is NB2 and we need a truck license to drive it - so ours is a real truck that’s costs a lot more to insure, register and our tolls are massive as well. Standard you can drive them on a car license as they are de-rated when they come into Australia #trucklife

    King of towing but there are way to many negatives having a Ute that big for using as a daily or touring vehicle in Australia . there better vehicles out there To tow a caravan 🤠 this is coming from a non biased opinion

    • @AussieDestinationsUnknown
      @AussieDestinationsUnknown  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      We’ve had one towing full time around the country and I don’t see any issues. And there isn’t many vehicle that can tow 4500kg turn key. American trucks or NPS trucks are it.

    • @StephenFogarty2023

      David,
      It depends on the size / weight of the caravan, u need to tow.
      If your caravan is below 3 tonne, then plenty of vehicles will handle that, but, some will manage 3 t better then others.
      Important to consider, how often u r towing, and the distance u r driving, whilst towing.
      If your vehicle is going to be at its GVM / GCM limits, then an occasional short drive, over a short distance, might be ok.
      But, if u r towing often, over long distances, this situation is far from ideal, or safe..
      If u r towing over 3 tonne, then many vehicles, are immediately at their GVM and GCM limit.
      Many vehicles are rated to tow 3.5 t, but at this level, you have nothing left for payload, such as passengers / luggage etc…
      A lot of factors will determine the most appropriate vehicle, to suit your requirements.
      For many people, a vehicle like this, is most definitely, the best option.
      Yes, it’s a big vehicle, but, u know that, so it’s clearly not necessarily the best vehicle to use, for daily driving in metro areas…

    Why is called a truck not a dual cab ute it's nothing like the truck

    • @AussieDestinationsUnknown
      @AussieDestinationsUnknown  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You can call it an American Ute if you like - but you’d be the only one in the world. What about FTrucks? Going to call that an F Ute? Or Ram Trucks Australia - going to call them Ram Utes Australia? It’s short for PICKUP TRUCK - which is what they are. You’d better get used to it 😂
