      She did. It really was the parents fault tho. It's still their responsibility to talk, connect, and encourage their child. All they did was make it easier for society to whitewash him, but if the parents did their job(like chris rock is attempting to do) Ruckus wouldve eventually found his true self, self love, self worth and wouldve been able to build on his dreams instead of just become another worker bee in society. Not that a there's anything wrong with being a worker bee; it's just, who knows who Ruckus wouldve been if it wasnt for his parents abuse and influence.

    A lot of Black parents unintentionally fail their children. A lot of parents want their kids to have “realistic” expectations about their futures. But this mindset can stifle a child’s imagination, and stop kids from ever seeing themselves as something more than they already are. As a community we have to stop putting ourselves in boxes and allow ourselves to flourish. We should encourage and remind our children that there are many avenues to success, and breaking from the status quo isn’t always a bad thing.

    • @chozahfearless7524
      @chozahfearless7524 4 ปีที่แล้ว +48

      MalikJC I feel we picked up some of white peoples habits as well which has lead to the mental issues within our own community. There was time when our Parents were coming up that parents both black and white uses to say children are better seen than heard. That was a saying people used back in the day to get away with abusing their children now it’s more psychological. I want to learn from these mistakes so I don’t pass them on to my children.

      the reason why parents pull there children towards reality is because children offend dont see the different.
      you can dream becoming bigger then yourself but you stil need to make realistic steps towards that dream.
      there are indeed many avenues to success but stil not enough for everyone to achieve there dreams.
      breaking the status quo means your one among many.
      many are the ones they get forgot or did not achieve there so call fantasy dreams.
      self-worth is a thing everyone need and can get not just plain success.

If Black parents don't teach their children from an early age about their true roots where by default they would be proud and prideful they will fall for the trap of being programmed to think like Uncle Ruckus. The Psychological profile of Uncle Ruckus is so tragic. But the real damage was and is than in his old age,of all the Adventures he had,he's still so Emotionally damaged he never evolved. And after age 50 most people don't really Mentally and Emotionally grow. And I know a lot of kids who had to go into themselves or even had to create a fantasy world to cope with being black and very poor in America. And also,let's just say that for some 1980's Black Kids stuff like white John Guess movies ,were aspirational. Back than as in now, working class black people in media are still seen through this white gaze,even though that's changing a bit. but real talk this was a Amazing Vlog and keep up the good work.

Partially because Uncle Ruckus actually falls in line with the traits people use Uncle Tom for, but mostly because the original protrayal of Uncle Tom from Uncle Tom's Cabin has been so misrepresented and skewed that people don't realize his character was originially intended to call for social change.

    Actually Uncle Ruckus his father was only telling him the truth he himself had high aspirations and dreams despite his mother but when he got out in the world and had to deal with white people he seen that those dreams was dashed no matter what he tried to do because he was black so as messed up as it is he was telling Uncle Ruckus the same thing that the world was going to tell him and the world kept telling him that him as a black man will never amount to anything not in a white man's world is my go another hand through it if he taught she told her son's to love the white man then they wouldn't be perceived as a threat and they could progress in life uncle or his father didn't like the fact that she made them pretend to be what they wasn't Shuck N Jive

      It wasn't just the white man that made him that way it was his own mother telling him he wouldn't be s*** also it was his own choice that screwed him over ain't nobody put a gun to his head and say have sex without a condom he did so he had a family to provide for so he had to put his dreams on hold yes back then there was a lot of struggle for the black man you can let society beat you down or you can keep standing back up also the other fact that his wife was cheating on him for years with a white man and the possibility that some of his children weren't his own he didn't have to beat his son to get his point across

    the boondocks was a genius show and ruckus was a genius social commentary. the show was a powerful image for how some one may view them selves as a black man/woman in america. huey, rile, grandad and ruckus were all creations of a black observer and retain realism yet satire of all of the stereotypes. layered and deep. just like so many of the characters in the show. a comedy show that also makes you think? most excellent.

    Most people still don't realize the theme song of uncle Ruckus Is the exact same theme song as jabba the hut from the original star wars But it was picked specifically because. It works for him. He is fat, he is greedy, he hates everyone. He only works so he can have money So he can then insult other people who do not work but get money Through handouts. The man is a living hippocrate In real time. Quite literally the lens that we Think the world works. Even though he is genuinely the only person in the room Everyone else is looking at. Because He is Not just a jackass He is also ignorant of his own situation. Any other person would be desperate to claw their way out of poverty He wallows in it like it's A hot jacuzzi. A perfect example. Of an individual who knows that they are in a bad situation but does nothing at all to improve it. If anything a lot of what Is done only makes the situation worse. The only things that He has going for him is that he has many stable jobs to rely. And also he is incredibly healthy despite how unhealthy he looks. The man is an expert in multiple martial arts. But he never bothers to use them. Because unless it's against that Freeman boy Huey. Nobody And I do mean nobody in his daily life. Ever merits him actually Bothering to do anything. 😮 He has the mindset essentially of a beaten slave. As long as he keeps his head down and he keeps other people reminding of their place, he feels as though he will always be safe in the world. And not suffer the same kind of punishment that he had as a child whenever he himself tried to reach beyond what his family imposed as the limit Of what a person can do. I think the most telling moment is when his father beat him Just for having fun and hugging a teddy bear. It was at that moment any decency within who would become. Uncle ruckus was beaten And shattered. Save one tiny little piece of self Introspection . As shown when his father finally died

    At the end of the day, you have to love everyone, yes even if they hate you, do not return their hate, but feel bad for them that they are either so ignorant or was raised so wrong to actually be that way somewhere down the line they have been wronged and need to push off their own short comings onto others.
