My family has colored bowls. There are pink, yellow, blue, green and orange. The first day of pride month, I put the bowls away so they are the pan flag. So far, nobody has changed it and nobody has noticed. I'm hoping to try to keep them that way until the end of June
When I realized that I was lesbian in a kinda not really accepting household, I wanted to sneakily show my pride. The first step was to find out what pride flags they recognized as just that - pride flags - and I quickly realized that the only ones they actually knew was the rainbow and trans flag. I started the gayification of my room by drawing a drawing HEAVILY inspired by the lesbian flag and putting it on my wall, but my parents didn't realize what the colors stand for. I went even further and changed my desktop background to the lesbian flag - and when my mom asked why I had changed my background, I just told her that I liked the color combination. She just thought it was like a color palette or something. Lastly, I took the final step and actually bought a 150x90 cm lesbian flag to put up on my wall, and my parents still don't realize anything. I told them that I just wanted a pop of color in my very plain room, and that I bought this tapestry to achieve that. Gayification complete.
Oh god! That is genius!! Im Indian, and in the beginning-ish of the year, we had a small Shivratri celebration in our locality. I planned on wearing a sari (for the first time in my life), and when shown the options, there was this blue one with purple accents. Paired it with all pink accessories and bam, I was a bisexual incognito! Only one person in the locality knew!😂

As a mom, I’m heartbroken by watching this video. I wish every person was supported to be their authentic self. I am grateful videos like this exist to show that it’s important to keep safe and still be yourself, despite your family’s views. Family can be the people we choose, not blood.
Just a tip for the pan people: If your parents see anything with the colors and get suspicious, just say they are the primary colors. It’s true tho lol

I'm ace, and my favorite color is purple and most of my clothes are black, grey, and white so I can easily get away with having my outfit matching the flag without suspicion! :D
@@julsiegamermove4115 honestly most normal people don't know pride flags outside the traditional rainbow one so if you feel confident enough wearing your flag as a shirt go for it! Or if you are talking about tie dye specifically then do a swirl pattern with the colors of the non-binary flag, you will know what it means and that is all that matters!
Demi person here. My flag is the same colors and the same thing is with me. I love purple and black. My room is being painted purple and grey, in fact. My parents are oblivious.
I’m bisexual and I’m currently dating my Girlfriend. We’re still closeted which is scary to know that our parents will find out. We’re in a distance relationship and every time my parents ask “any crushes on guys? Or dating any guys?” I always joke around about celebrity crushes which makes me feel uncomfortable cause I want to tell them but it’s scary. I just feel like I need to say this out loud for everyone to know....if not everyone then some of you. I’m gender fluid and bisexual...I’m still me of course...happy pride month everyone!

Ok, so like a year or two ago I was forced to come out. (Not going to tell my story it's complicated) And well I thought things would get better but they don't. My mom acts like I never came out, my dad says one of these days we'll talk about it again. And I have two brothers, (I'm the oldest) They were the first to know I was gay, they never really cared, at least until I had to come out to my parents that I was dated my brothers older sister friend (Who they both knew I was dating). When that happened my brother who is now 12, he always uses the word gay like it's disease and it really annoying. And he'll see gay things call my name show me and say, "It's the most disgusting thing I've ever seen." Or he'll call me gross (He still does it, and I've asked him to stop). He even said to me the person he's been wanting to die to die in the show he was watching died. I asked him who it was, and he said, "It's was this gay guy on the show." I asked him why he wanted the guy to die so much and he said. "Because he gay and that's gross. Gay people shouldn't live." I don't know why he says this, it makes me feel uncomfortable around him because he fight a lot and sometimes pushing and shoving happens I miss my old brother, the one who didn't care before I came out to my parents.The only person in my family who I feel accepts me is my youngest brother who is 10, he'll make gay jokes with me, and ever sometimes talk about with me, about my girlfriend. He even is slowly shipping gay things that I ship. Which makes me happy I have someone to go to. But if you're reading this stay safe, hope you're day is amazing. And happy pride month. If your parents aren’t very knowledgeable about flags (many only recognize the most common ones like the rainbow bi and trans flags) its a lot easier to for stealth pride stuff. For example if your family isn’t familiar with the ace flag and you’re ace, you can incorporate the black white grey and purple into your room decor and outfits without arousing any suspicion. I did a stealth pride painting and my parents literally watched me paint it and complemented the color choices without knowing what they meant 👍🏼

Lucky for me my family doesn't know the bi flag, like I drew an elf inspired by it and went around showing it off to my family and my sis was just asked if it was an elf and had no clue. So yeah I'm still mostly closeted especially to my parents lol

Hey! I know Im late but I have some tips! Bracelets are a FANTASTIC way to show your pride. I make a lot of bracelets and wear my flags colors amongst other colored bracelets and they kinda just look like nothing special. Its exhilarating to go out in these because Im so prideful and showing it while being safe! another thing, doodling pride flags, they dont have to be like actual flags but making a drawing of three flowers with the bi colors and maybe making the sky with the trans flag colors with a rainbow, I personally like doing confetti, very inconspicuous. Also Listening to inclusive youtubers like the amazing person right here or the click or jammiedodger or one topic (OT), also very empowering Ive found! I did the same thing too but whit the bi flag and since i remember i always put blue, purple and pink in my draws or everything and sometimes now i see my old draws and i think "oh wow it was destiny" 😂

i draw pride flags on the bottoms of my feet using markers, i always wear socks so no one knows and it makes me extremely happy knowing i drew them somewhere on my skin. it's such a small thing but it's crazy how good it makes you feel.
I hung out with a friend for the first time a little while ago (we only talked in between classes and got along great). We went to an empty park and one of the first things she asked me was what my pronouns and preferred name was. Then she asked my sexuality. (She’s gay, I’m questioning aro&gay) I’d say one of the best things you can do is just ask someone right when you meet them. Do it privately and make sure they (and you) feel comfortable. Saying “if you don’t feel comfortable or don’t want to talk we can talk about something else” is great because it makes the person feel like they aren’t forced to tell. It makes both people feel great afterwards- especially if both or just one of you is in the closet.
I know this is supposed to be a helpful and lighthearted video, but my heart just broke watching this. There are so many people that don't have to hide who they are and can safely live their lives without much thought at all, but then you remember that there are so many more people who are still stuck in situations where being themselves isn't an option. For someone like me where it's just second nature to be who you are, I couldn't imagine having to live your life wearing some type of mask, especially if that meant staying out of harm's way. It's taking a long time, but to everyone who's in the closet right now I hope you are having a good pride month. Stay safe, and just keep holding onto that little glimmer of hope because sooner or later you'll be able to finally be free.

I came to this video about a year ago (9 months) and it came up in my YT recommended again... I'm proud to say that I no longer need this video as I'm now not and accepted by my family and peers. I'd still like to repeat what I said last time I was here though. If you have no text box selected and type "awesome" your progress bar (the usually red bar that tells you how far you are in the vid) will flash in rainbow colors. It's very subtle and not many people will notice it and those who do you can say it was just a weird feature on yt that you found. I hope this helps those who are closeted and I'd just like to remind you that there are people who will accept and love you even if they don't seem like they would now.

The way I look at it is that every episode year round of our show is a small letter back to my old 11 year old self telling him that it’s okay to be who I am. I hope every episode can help someone know they are loved and normal. The lgbtq has given me immense strength so I hope to pass that along each week to the next in line. I’m terrified for when I eventually have to come out, my parents just wouldn’t understand, but I get sick of them calling me a girl, same with my siblings, I almost start crying because I’m so uncomfortable, but I have been secretly celebrating pride the past few years, and the Internet is a great way to do so.
Today I wore a rainbow tye-dye shirt and some rainbow long socks with my outfit today. It was a very subtle way to dress for Pride, but it was just enough to where my parents didn’t suspect anything, and I felt very happy showing off my colors. :)
Here's a cutesy little idea for those who like to draw: make OCs out of your pride flag colors! Make them represent your sexuality accurately and, in general, make them...you! I'm doing that right now, so you probably can too. It's a simple little thing, but it works! If anyone gets suspicious, just say they like the colors or outfit they're wearing.

I'm out to my step mom, mom, and dad, + soon to be step dad, but only my step dad and mom use the right pronouns and name. Honestly i start to feel terrible whenever my parents I live with (step mom and dad) say my deadname and say she/her pronouns. I said I go by Adrian (I changed my mind and have been going by Kai for months now) and use he him pronouns. They say they support me and my dad is willingly letting me buy a trans flag as long as it's my money, but the closest they get to correct pronouns is my mom saying "your a very special wonderful gir- person" when I was panicking and just mental problems of mine when I was giving up and actually trying to share my problems.
I remember having a discussion with my friends about being gender fluid and they decided to give me the nickname Kai for when I feel in between and I'm glad we had that talk bc I feel safe around them :) Also I'm glad that you had enough courage to fully tell your parents about how you feel!
Just be happy theyre trying. This is most likely a big change for them because for their whole life, theyve believed youre a girl. give them time to adjust, and help them out when needed. theyll come around. 😌

My little celebrations as a closeted bi are: - wearing my muted rainbow shirt (which is just a normal shirt I have that doesn't look pride-related) - wearing my ace ring (I'm grey-ace, and also I love rings) - wearing a rainbow bracelet at uni, then taking it off before going home - sneaking bi colors into things, like phone background - cuffing a l l the jeans - bi bob - listening to my lgbt playlist on Spotify 2021 edit: I now have a bunch of bi/ace-colored laptop stickers, a bi-colored cat tshirt, a subtle rainbow tie-dye sweatshirt, and some scrunchies that include bi and rainbow colors 👌🏻
So I've only come out to one person, my best friend. She is super supportive and wonderful and she understood when I said I didn't really know how to tell anyone else. So, she made me loom bracelets in the colors of my pride flag and I wear them every day. My family doesn't realize because I already liked the color combination before. We also did tie-dye a few weeks ago. So I used the colors yellow, pink and blue to wear my pride flag in secret. It's great for now until I'm ready to tell them ^^ And also thanks a million to my best friend, you are the most wonderful friend ever

Oh yes. Pride in your imagination. This is so wonderful. Going to a pride parade is one thing but going to a pride parade knowing that there are many, many people who support us but only in spirit is a strengthening, heart-warming thought. Even outside of pride month, I feel comfort in the idea that there are millions of people around the world who don't know me but still love me and accept me the way I am. Even if there is no direct interaction between each other, the thought itself can be very encouraging sometimes. You are not alone.

To anyone questioning their sexuality, give it time. When I was in 3rd grade I was lesbian and years later I am settled as a Pansexual. It takes years of denial and maybe even hatred for yourself wether it come from you our others. You will get through it no matter how long it takes. Some people may never come around and will never accept you and you just have to get through that.
Same! When I was in 5th grade, I identified as demi lesbian (a demi lesbian is a demisexual woman who has an attraction to only women who she is close friends with). Then, when I was in 7th grade, I was bicurious. Now, I identify as lesbian and I'm very proud ♥️

I planned on wearing a sari (for the first time in my life), and when shown the options, there was this blue one with purple accents. Or if you are talking about tie dye specifically then do a swirl pattern with the colors of the non-binary flag, you will know what it means and that is all that matters!

Ok, so like a year or two ago I was forced to come out. (Not going to tell my story it's complicated) And well I thought things would get better but they don't. My mom acts like I never came out, my dad says one of these days we'll talk about it again. And I have two brothers, (I'm the oldest) They were the first to know I was gay, they never really cared, at least until I had to come out to my parents that I was dated my brothers older sister friend (Who they both knew I was dating). When that happened my brother who is now 12, he always uses the word gay like it's disease and it really annoying. And he'll see gay things call my name show me and say, "It's the most disgusting thing I've ever seen." Or he'll call me gross (He still does it, and I've asked him to stop). He even said to me the person he's been wanting to die to die in the show he was watching died. I asked him who it was, and he said, "It's was this gay guy on the show." I asked him why he wanted the guy to die so much and he said. "Because he gay and that's gross. Gay people shouldn't live." I don't know why he says this, it makes me feel uncomfortable around him because he fight a lot and sometimes pushing and shoving happens I miss my old brother, the one who didn't care before I came out to my parents.The only person in my family who I feel accepts me is my youngest brother who is 10, he'll make gay jokes with me, and ever sometimes talk about with me, about my girlfriend. He even is slowly shipping gay things that I ship. Which makes me happy I have someone to go to.

If your parents aren’t very knowledgeable about flags (many only recognize the most common ones like the rainbow bi and trans flags) its a lot easier to for stealth pride stuff. For example if your family isn’t familiar with the ace flag and you’re ace, you can incorporate the black white grey and purple into your room decor and outfits without arousing any suspicion.
I did a stealth pride painting and my parents literally watched me paint it and complemented the color choices without knowing what they meant 👍🏼

Hey! I know Im late but I have some tips! Bracelets are a FANTASTIC way to show your pride. I make a lot of bracelets and wear my flags colors amongst other colored bracelets and they kinda just look like nothing special. Its exhilarating to go out in these because Im so prideful and showing it while being safe! another thing, doodling pride flags, they dont have to be like actual flags but making a drawing of three flowers with the bi colors and maybe making the sky with the trans flag colors with a rainbow, I personally like doing confetti, very inconspicuous. Also Listening to inclusive youtubers like the amazing person right here or the click or jammiedodger or one topic (OT), also very empowering Ive found! i draw pride flags on the bottoms of my feet using markers, i always wear socks so no one knows and it makes me extremely happy knowing i drew them somewhere on my skin. it's such a small thing but it's crazy how good it makes you feel.

I hung out with a friend for the first time a little while ago (we only talked in between classes and got along great). We went to an empty park and one of the first things she asked me was what my pronouns and preferred name was. Then she asked my sexuality. (She’s gay, I’m questioning aro&gay) I’d say one of the best things you can do is just ask someone right when you meet them. Do it privately and make sure they (and you) feel comfortable. Saying “if you don’t feel comfortable or don’t want to talk we can talk about something else” is great because it makes the person feel like they aren’t forced to tell. It makes both people feel great afterwards- especially if both or just one of you is in the closet.

For someone like me where it's just second nature to be who you are, I couldn't imagine having to live your life wearing some type of mask, especially if that meant staying out of harm's way. It's taking a long time, but to everyone who's in the closet right now I hope you are having a good pride month. Stay safe, and just keep holding onto that little glimmer of hope because sooner or later you'll be able to finally be free.

I came to this video about a year ago (9 months) and it came up in my YT recommended again... I'm proud to say that I no longer need this video as I'm now not and accepted by my family and peers. I'd still like to repeat what I said last time I was here though. If you have no text box selected and type "awesome" your progress bar (the usually red bar that tells you how far you are in the vid) will flash in rainbow colors. It's very subtle and not many people will notice it and those who do you can say it was just a weird feature on yt that you found. I hope this helps those who are closeted and I'd just like to remind you that there are people who will accept and love you even if they don't seem like they would now.

Awe I geared up reading that. Thank you so much. The way I look at it is that every episode year round of our show is a small letter back to my old 11 year old self telling him that it’s okay to be who I am. I hope every episode can help someone know they are loved and normal. The lgbtq has given me immense strength so I hope to pass that along each week to the next in line. Today I wore a rainbow tye-dye shirt and some rainbow long socks with my outfit today. It was a very subtle way to dress for Pride, but it was just enough to where my parents didn’t suspect anything, and I felt very happy showing off my colors. :)
Here's a cutesy little idea for those who like to draw: make OCs out of your pride flag colors! Make them represent your sexuality accurately and, in general, make them...you! I'm doing that right now, so you probably can too. It's a simple little thing, but it works! If anyone gets suspicious, just say they like the colors or outfit they're wearing.

I'm out to my step mom, mom, and dad, + soon to be step dad, but only my step dad and mom use the right pronouns and name. Honestly i start to feel terrible whenever my parents I live with (step mom and dad) say my deadname and say she/her pronouns. I said I go by Adrian (I changed my mind and have been going by Kai for months now) and use he him pronouns. They say they support me and my dad is willingly letting me buy a trans flag as long as it's my money, but the closest they get to correct pronouns is my mom saying "your a very special wonderful gir- person" when I was panicking and just mental problems of mine when I was giving up and actually trying to share my problems.

I now have a bunch of bi/ace-colored laptop stickers, a bi-colored cat tshirt, a subtle rainbow tie-dye sweatshirt, and some scrunchies that include bi and rainbow colors 👌🏻
So I've only come out to one person, my best friend. She is super supportive and wonderful and she understood when I said I didn't really know how to tell anyone else. So, she made me loom bracelets in the colors of my pride flag and I wear them every day. My family doesn't realize because I already liked the color combination before. We also did tie-dye a few weeks ago. So I used the colors yellow, pink and blue to wear my pride flag in secret. It's great for now until I'm ready to tell them ^^

Going to a pride parade is one thing but going to a pride parade knowing that there are many, many people who support us but only in spirit is a strengthening, heart-warming thought.
Even outside of pride month, I feel comfort in the idea that there are millions of people around the world who don't know me but still love me and accept me the way I am.
Even if there is no direct interaction between each other, the thought itself can be very encouraging sometimes. You are not alone.
Fun fact: I made a necklace for my dad in pans flag colors before I even knew I was part of this community

To anyone questioning their sexuality, give it time. When I was in 3rd grade I was lesbian and years later I am settled as a Pansexual. It takes years of denial and maybe even hatred for yourself wether it come from you our others. You will get through it no matter how long it takes. Some people may never come around and will never accept you and you just have to get through that.
