For anybody wondering about the shark costumes in any of the crowd shots: the Pitt defense has been calling themselves the sharks since training camp where one of the linebackers brought it from his high school making a playoff run with that nickname (wasn’t their mascot). Eventually the defense as a whole just kind of adopted it and as the season went on it became more of a thing where you’d see shark celebrations like at 3:48, people would go to the games in shark costumes, bring pool toys with jerseys on them, there were some surf boards too. Good stuff. That’s what makes college football so great. H2P

@@Ethanpjones during training camp Pitt’s linebackers got the nickname “sharks” (I guess one of the players in high school got his team call themselves the sharks even though that wasn’t their mascot) and as the year went on that kinda spread to the whole defense and became a whole thing on campus and at the games. People were going in shark costumes or had big shark pool toys with jerseys and scarfs on them and all that good stuff. That’s why earlier in the vid you saw someone put their hand down the middle of their forehead. Sharks. Hail to Pitt
