You look like you are holding up well. Great pic with Cap’n Jack and BobRoss. I hope you rode the bike on that little jump from riverside to grocery HA. Day 40 and Damascus sound like a milestone to me. Happy hiking.
Tennessee ✔️ Welcome to Virginia! 👏👏👏👏👏 your doing great! 😊 Love your mindset about one stretch at a time!! That’s the plan! 👍 enjoy your stay at Lady Di ‘s. Stay well keep warm & Hike On! Thanks Christine for the M &Ms. 🥾⛺️🇺🇸🧗♀️🙂
Always a good feeling after watching one of your videos. Your geology lessons are much appreciated and informative. Good that got to meet up with Jack and Bob. They one of the group of hikers along with yourself that I enjoy. Have a restful night.
Welcome to VA, my home state. I go up on the Blueridge Parkway and do portable ham radio operation (POTA) at the Montvale overlook. Still working the daily grind so it's not everyday but maybe we'll cross paths.
Moose have good reason to be confident. Remember that when you get to Maine, in case you meet one! 😊 (Then again, I’ve searched for moose in Maine many times, had to go to Grand Teton to finally see one.) Love the way you “honored” the state line!
Great trek. Lol that bike gets around.. Captain Jack has been on it two days. I knew you was going to pass them, as I'm following them as well .. blessings and safe trails 😄
Congrats on making VA. You're doing very well. Hopefully, the weather will improve even more. As you head north, watch the stonewalls. The progression of their development is interesting to me. In CT, the farmers would throw rocks into piles while plowing. In the winter they would use sledges to move them next to boundaries and where they wanted interior walls. As time permitted they built the walls. It used to be Kings law to make your boundary lines obvious. In my area, some wealthy farmers used indentured servants from England who were skilled masons. Their walls are obvious. After the summer that never was(1816) many from my area moved to Ohio and land values dropped. Few walls have been built since. Good Luck, Rick
I know there is that "special 8 miles that are saved for the end", but I'm going to call it anyway.....Georgia✔, North Carolina✔, Tennessee✔!!! Welcome to Virginia, you are doing great!
Congrats on reaching Damascus! You're doing great. With your positive attitude you shouldn't get the VA blues. The area coming into town is where all the vendors and entertainment is. Tent City is out past the ball field on the edge of town.
Congrats on making it to Damascus. You’re doing awesome! You’re getting into my neck of the woods now. I hope to meet you on up the trail. I’m closest to MM 576. I’m a trail angel and shuttle driver for the hikers of the AT. Journey on! 🌻✌️❤️🦆donnie duck
When I hiked from White Top to Grocrose Va. you could get a pizza delivered to the Partnership shelter. there was a phone out side of the rangers station to use. i know you like food.
Nice that you ran into Capt Jack and Bob Ross. Seems Jack's having lots of knee problems. It's amazing that you preserved and got through the Smokies while others skipped by. One can't be a thru hiker and skip sections. Good for you and your honesty of doing all the trail. I really like the Valley and Ridge. The four orogenies marked by red beds, the quartzite backboned ridges and the Paleozoic fossils are amazing.
Nice job hitting Damascus on your ideal date. Didn't you meet up with Jack and Bob before, or am I thinking of someone else? I know they've been mentioned in a few blogs I read, so I could be mixing up hikers.
Funny to see you on Captain and Bob Ross' channel and then cone here to see them on yours. 😂
Great hike! 😊 true about the unknowns.
Cool that you and Captain Jack and Bob Ross crossed paths along the way. 40 days to Damascus is quite an achievement. Congrats!
Damascus is nearly one quarter of the trail, so it's a milestone for sure.
You are the only one I am watching that Hiked threw the Smokies. Nice

The thrill of hiking into Damascus, Virginia! There's good trout fishing in all those creeks around there!

I first saw Bob R at Fontana Marina. Tonight, I'm at the Alpaca Farm hostel. Mr. & Mrs. Smith are here.
A Hiking Moose w/ his pole.
Moving on up the trail.
5 stack, what water filtration system do you use?
Katadyn Be Free... no complaints at all. Still haven't needed to get a new filter.
