I have a pair of the full size 1723 Monitor speakers and I'm also in love with them. With all the hype they've had, I was 100% prepared to return them if they weren't great, and I've had to return a few speakers in the past. I got them from the outlet for $2249 shipped to the door, and 3 months later I'm just blown away by the value. I've owned speakers that cost twice the amount, but for my personal needs these are close to perfect. I use them in a 2.2 stereo setup. I listen to a lot of dynamic and bass heavy music and even without the subs they do an admiral job. I'd call these a must try for anyone shopping in the sub 5k speaker market!
You made the best choice I'm rocking a 7.2.4... 1723s set up denon 3700..with monolithic 7*200 and basx4.. 2 1961s Subs 1s.....running all Blue Jean Cables
I love that they have such comprehensive settings on the sub itself. Disregarding the risk of electronics wearing out, you're not afraid of app-deprecation locking you out of adjusting your subwoofer and you're basically set for life with these subs.
I like how you went with a white satin center channel and black satin for the rest. I just always wondered if I should risk going with white as maybe it may draw too much attention and the black would disappear a little more. Great Review!
Started with the older 1723 sub 1.5, bought a 1961 1s for my desk setup. Next step is replacing my older speakers with arendals. I love this brand man, great customer service too
I've been using a 7.2.4 1723 kits for a year now and I will say they are endgame speakers. Haven't heard the S model but I figure they are the same with a tad less mid and bass but I think anyone getting the 1723S will be 100% satisfied. I also ordered monitors across the board. Besides the towers are beyond huge. These speakers are small so if you have a small room their 1961 speakers will be just fine. As far as height speakers I wish they made the full 1723 but the 1723S heights do a great job also. I had SVS elevations before they were ok but the Arendal heights completely changed atmos or dts x. I was lucky and saved 15% as I got them before covid and since last summer (2021) they raised the price across the board.

@@raymondayala5355 yeah I had the svs elevations before also and they were barely noticeable with the Arendal but now I hear a big difference they are really worth it. Those small 4" compared to 6.5 are worlds appart. They have since went up in price twice since they released so depends how much heights you want but I would be all in if I were you.
That subwoofer is Ginormous. I wish i could use a sub but I've found I just can't, the bass sound just travels too easily and it annoys my neighbours. I don't want to do that, I'm a good neighbour. AN APP OMG, I remember years (I think) ago, when reviewing the Arendal 1961 Sub, the only criticism I remember you making, is that it had no app to be able to make adjustments to, and better tune the system from your seated position. Clearly they listened.
According to Erin's Audio Corner, at least some of these THX certified Arendal speakers can actually dip into the 3 ohm territory. You need some quality power amps that can go below 4 ohms in stability.
My main reason is because the center speaker is the same speaker as the monitors. So the experience is the same as things pan across the front speakers
Sir, Kindly tell us your recommendation on what amplifier or receiver we can use because speakers are in 4 ohms which is just fine but the wattage requirements to drive is too high..

I too replaced my Dali's to the Arendals. Using the Arendal 1723 Tower S for the Left/Right speakers since the non S version is just too big for my room but using the 1723 Monitor ( 8" woofers ) as my center speaker since the center handles most of the heavy lifting. Also I noticed that you have one of the ports on the center speaker plugged?

@@HomeTheaterHobbyist Oh I thought it was the center speaker since it was sideways. I had the Dali Oberon 7's. It's hard to compare using just memory since I didn't AB test them but I felt like the Arendals have more dynamics. Sounds a bit bright which I confirmed using REW but I EQ'd the high freq down a bit on my Anthem AVR.

@@TechinaSec101 In my current setup I am using the 1723 Tower S but chose the 1723 Center monitor with the bigger woofers since the Center speaker is the most important speaker in an HT setup. In my room I could use the 1723 Monitors too but decided on the Tower S so at least I don't have to spend on speaker stands. Actually if one is using subs going with the monitors is just fine. I just like the look of tower speakers.
Would you be wrong to wall mount the 1723 monitor S and 1723 monitor S Center around a 85 inch tv? Will this be bad for the ports? I saw an ambassador wall mount 1961 series this way. They are sealed so that may be better for wall mounting. What do you think Cody?

I live in a detached house, my neighbor came over to help move the tv. It’s too large (77”) for one person. At reference level they are loud but at normal levels it’s fine. At night I would turn the sub down a few decibels but as long as you are reasonably considerate it should be fine.
@@HomeTheaterHobbyist In my push to be 1st to comment, I neglected to ask where you'd suggest installing those surrounds. Since they have speakers on the sides as well, would you install them like any other surround speaker, or do you point them a little in front or behind you?

I think the 1723s monitor is the best of both worlds. The 1723s tower is supposed to be quite large and heavy so the monitor is probably a nice comprise. 😁 Let me know what you get and how you like it.

I had the SVS ultra center and it was great until I heard the Arendal 1723s center and was blown away with better theater deep sounding voices. I kept the Arendal setup vs the SVS ultra set up. I did keep dual PB 3000s

If you're looking for punch, then the 280F is better. The 1723s is smoother and natural sounding. It delivers punch when necessary but you need to turn the volume up. The Klipsch horn design is very efficient and deliver a nice punch even at relatively low volume.
How do these Arendal's compare to Kef R11, R2C & R3 speakers in 5.1 I would guess that the Kef will be superior for music and the arendal will be more dynamic for movies in a big room. Keep up the good work. Enjoying your channel.
I'm using the Monoprice stands located here: amzn.to/3PQ6HmQ They are sturdy and the speaker platform is large so I don't worry about them. My two drawbacks: no built in cable management and I don't think they're the best looking stands.
Seconding those. I thought it’d be an odd fit since the Surrounds S are pretty think Deep wise. Then I realized you can just turn the stand around so the Surround S takes up as much room on the stand instead of having the stand stick out the Deep side like regular Bookshelves do.
I haven’t heard the Ultras in my room so I can’t say. Based on my prime tower experience I would say the arendals are smoother and more dynamic. While the primes were a bit more analytical in their approach.
I’ve only heard the Prime Towers so I can’t say for sure. Would I take the Monitor S over the Prime Tower? Yes because the Monitor is more neutral and a bit smoother IMO. Hopefully this helps. 🙂
Obviously I don't have the bookshelf but I assume the sound (tonality, clarity, detail) is the same based on my experience. The only difference is the surround does a much better job of surrounding the seating position.
HDF vs MDF is a non issue. It really doesnt matter that much. Even one bracing is 100 times more important then the diffrence between MDF or HDF. But i guess its an easy advertising point.

The Crown Drivecore amps can handle 2 Ohms. Good price but class D, and hide them as they are ugly.

Arendal center will be the most neutral, HECO aurora center will be slightly brighter, and the klipsch will probably be even brighter than the HECO.

The T2+ has a warmer sound. So if that’s what you want go for it the T2+ are a great set of speakers. 😀
How would these pair with an EarthquakeCinenova Grand amplifier??? And would you recommend that amp?
I haven't tried any Earthquake amps so I can't recommend them but looking at the specs, I think it would work well.

I haven’t heard the Ultras in my room so I can’t say. Based on my prime tower experience I would say the arendals are smoother and more dynamic. While the primes were a bit more analytical in their approach.
Would you take the Arendals over SVS Ultra towers?
I’ve only heard the Prime Towers so I can’t say for sure. Would I take the Monitor S over the Prime Tower? Yes because the Monitor is more neutral and a bit smoother IMO. Hopefully this helps. 🙂

Is there a big difference between 1723 bookshelf vs 1723 surround speaker?
I want to know the 1723 surround.
Obviously I don't have the bookshelf but I assume the sound (tonality, clarity, detail) is the same based on my experience. The only difference is the surround does a much better job of surrounding the seating position.
For $2500 which makes them unobtainable they should sound like the royal philharmonic is in you living room. Sadly I will never know that joy
HDF vs MDF is a non issue. It really doesnt matter that much. Even one bracing is 100 times more important then the diffrence between MDF or HDF. But i guess its an easy advertising point.
