Great review! I have this series myself and i totaly agree with you. They really pack a punch. Ive had alot of speaker in my life and speakers that cost way more and didnt stand a change agains this speakers. What did chock me the most with the Arendal is that i started rewatching old movies with a hole new experience. And im that type of guy that buy blurays and Watch them ones and the stack them :) Another thing ive notice is that they hava a 50hour breakin but what ive notice is that they sound better and better way after that period.
Although they have increased their prices, Arendal still offer a lot bang for buck, I slightly prefer the Monitor Audio Silver 7G series over the Arendal 1961, but if I were to upgrade from the Monitor audio Silver I would totally consider the Arendal 1723 Tower which seem to be phenomenal from everything I have gathered.
Thank you very much for this! Did the small center channel blend in well with the two tower speakers? I’ve heard of others purchasing a bigger center from their 1723 S lineup to pair with them instead.
Great review! I noticed at 00:05 your Arendal badge is on the side of your center speaker. Im pretty sure the grill for the monitor and center is the same so you should be able to just move the magnetic badge to the bottom where there should be another indentation for it. look on the back to confirm
There’s really no discernible difference at all. I wish i had gotten the smaller version since that would take up a bit less space in this room (don’t know what my future room layout will look like tho)
That’s good to hear! Having a full-time integrated sub seems to make a lot of their offerings overkill. I’ve also been told that having a sub makes towers themselves unnecessary and that I’d be better off with their 1723 S Monitors. Fingers crossed Arendal can lend you an LCR set to compare against.
I have a 5.1.2 atmos setup with 1961 speakers for 2 weeks now they are amazing, only the sub is an svs sb2000 but it blends very wel. Monitors center hights and the surrounds, the fronts and center are the same speakers for better results in movies.
I have in mind to purchase this great speakers my room is small, 13.12X12.46x9.5 ft, muy listening position is at 6.56 ft and from the floor my ears are more or less 3.6 ft, since the tweeter is not at the top of the tower speaker, and it has a 5 degree tilt to rear, At what height will the dispersion lobe of the tweeter be to me? congratulations for your excellent review and measurements.
Good day Mr. VM! On another note, I need your advice please... Up to 30 feet, it's not too difficult to choose a necessary wire gauge for speaker cables... but it's more the long runs that are questionable. Therefore in my case, I need to install a 75 foot run to my rear Atmos speakers... is 12 gauge OFC sufficient? Some info out there mentions that 10 gauge might remove quality of sound on the highs (mid-range and tweeter)... is this true to your knowledge? My Atmos installation as rear heights will be Canton AR-500's (4 - 8ohms) powered by my AVR Onkyo RZ-50, and set the AMP impedance switched to 6 to 8 Ohms (not 4 to 6 Ohms). Please help me choose the right gauge (AWG) before I purchase the speaker wire, since I will need a CL2 rated wire for in-wall installation. Thank you in advance! Perry
Hello, Tha_Villaman. How do the 1961 towers compare to the SVS prime pinnacles? Those two particular towers are both slender for my needs. My mind is leaning towards SVS because of the 6.5-inch woofer drivers, It does measure lower, plus I would pair it with an SVS ultra center for my main LCR. Just wondering if I would be missing anything with 1961's mid to upper-range dynamics? thanks!
Hi man, are you compromised with the center channel being too low, I think the radiation pattern of that center channel is good, but not sure vertically how the vertical pattern is.
The 1961 center channel is actually not too low when placed on the top shelf of the stand (where it was during the time I used it). My bigger 1723 center is pretty low, but that’s a compromise I’ve lived with
I can’t wait until you get some JTR 212 HTR’s and Captivator 2400 subs to review and compare to some of these smaller speakers… That is the set up I have but I almost went with the arendals and I’m just curious how they compare. Also how much you really gain with the larger more expensive JTR’s.
They would be too big for his needs and neighbours, the same applies to me. I have a neighbour above me, and one to the side, so I only play movies in the afternoon, when they are at work. In the evening and at night, I used headphones. I get on well with them, I'd like to keep it that way. lol
Hey dude, you're awesome! 👋🙂 I don't know, but maybe you will be interested in the Brazilian amplifier of the company TARAMPS HV 160 kW *Hig Voltage - I would like to see it in your video review and your opinion about this powerful amplifier, or the line of amplifiers from this company... 🙂
Big up Villaman! Glad to see you're back reviewing!
Good to be back, boss. My little one had me a way for a while

awesome video! I haven't thought about those speakers since I first hooked them up in my 1st car for my bass back in the 90's!!

Wow I cannot believe I didn’t realize that… 🤯
Thanks!
How do the 8 inch surround speakers sound compared to the 6 inch surround speakers you had?..any noticeable differences?
There’s really no discernible difference at all. I wish i had gotten the smaller version since that would take up a bit less space in this room (don’t know what my future room layout will look like tho)
Thanks 4 the reply

Did you mount the 1961 Heights to the ceiling for Atmos?
@@chrislukowski1825 yes with the 1961 mounts
You state that the 1961 1v works with the app. What functions does it have? I thought only the 1723 subs work with the app?

It would be interesting to see your review of QAcoustics 3000 series
Can you review the klipsch rf7-iii’s?
How do this compare to the T6 if you know by any chance. Thanks for a super detailed review btw.

I think going with the SVS is the right decision in your case. They are both great sounding speakers
Thanks 👍

Great review and a pleasure to watch. The 1961v sub is that equal to a svs PB1000. Have you got yourself a new processor? What happened to the denon?
1961 1V is something in-between a pb-2000 and pb-3000. Closer to the 2000. I have owned them all, and are now running a 1961 1V setup.
@BuffSquadBigBenni according to official figs the pb2000 is near and better lower down than the 1723v
@@clarkson427 1723 1V is in-between pb-3000 and 4000 I believe.
@@BuffSquadBigBenni I have to disagree with that.
I’d say it’s around PB3000 level.
The Denon got replaced and then the replacement did as well th-cam.com/video/7DsWVk4nzhY/w-d-xo.html

Insane deals on these right now. 30% off
which do you like better the SVS ultra towers or the 1961's?
The ultra towers are more capable and for a larger room. It would be more comparable to the 1723 which I like better
Can someone help me choose a subwoofer I am stuck between 1961 1v subwoofer vs PB 3000 monolith 12 inch sub .
Good review. Correction: The 1961 line does not work with the app.
Thanks!
