You have done a great service to so many people who will attempt to tackle this job. I have never before seen a more detailed procedural video. Great job, Kit!
This is THE BEST video on this subject. And, thank you for allowing us to hear the engine running at the beginning and end of job. I have discovered that slight tick on these engines is completely normal. Thank you!
No words to describe how amazing you are, I keep telling everyone how great technician you are… you are worthy of you 18k following and much more 👍🏽👨🏾🔧
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair just did it yesterday and you step by step was very helpful. At first started and ran smooth and quiet, out everything back together and let it run but have an extra sound that wasn't there before. Might have to take it apart and recheck timing although I triple checked and all marks lined up. Weird
Well documented professional repair! I own a 2013 Honda accord. which I was told has a timing chain instead of belt . so i hopefully dont have to do this repair
Do you replace the idler pulley bolt? Honda's service manual says to replace it for my 2010 Odyssey EX-L. But then, the manual says to replace a alot if bolts that I know for sure even Honda dealer techs don't replace.
And what if the belt does not get on the tooth of the pulley of the second shaft? I put it on the tooth, there is a slack in the belt around the w.pump. The phase marks are matches, the crankshaft pulley cannot be moved. What I gonna do?
I was curious about that too. I see videos of Honda dealer techs who just give it a few ugga duggas with their impact wrench wrench and call it good. Always leaves me wondering.

Doug Pfaltzgraff Thanks! and yeah the Honda Accord has a timing chain, just keep doing your preventive maintenance on time and you'll be fine!

What torque did you use in lieu of 60 degrees on the crank bolt?
@jptrainor did set uyp 60 degrees on the torque wrench!
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair ok. I guess I didn't see it. Thanks!

Arent u suposed to transfer the old marks from the old belt onto new belt to make sure it didnt skip after installing the new belt?
@balkee42 No, Not at all, there is no need to mark the belt!
The timing was off. The old belt had jumped, hence no point in this case. It's the crank and cam marks that matter.
MUCH BETTER
Ivan Peterzell Thank you!
On min 7:46 I tried to turn the rear cam shaft and it turned all the way to the 3 o’clock position on its own. What should I do? Please help.
@cmoe559 Use a wrench and bring it back!
And what if the belt does not get on the tooth of the pulley of the second shaft?
I put it on the tooth, there is a slack in the belt around the w.pump. The phase marks are matches, the crankshaft pulley cannot be moved. What I gonna do?
@mm-ni4lu realign the marks and put the slack on the belt on the tensioner side!
Nic video sir
Good job
Lovepreet singh Hanjra Thank you!
Crank bolt torque is 47lbs and additional 60 degree bolt angle(a bitch to do) not 60 lbs as shown
@roger3616 where did you get that number from? Honda calls for 60 lbs, what service info did you get that number from?
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair
After torquing crank bolt to 47 lbs you turn bolt another 60 DEGREES not lbs or 181 pounds on some models

I had a bad cam sensor bought it of amazon with belt and had a code for sensor still coming up. Always buy dealer parts is the way to go.
Bladimir Bartolini when it comes to sensors and internal engine components I always recommend dealer parts to my customers!
