Ohmygod yes that actually describes me I'm not too cautious so literally ALL OF MY HANDLERS--EVER tells me to settle down and chill out, become more subtle..... It makes me sad. I take showers every single DAT, as well as brushing my teeth 2-3 times a day. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE WARM-HOT-STUFFY ENVIRONMENTS I stayed outside in the sun for a WHOLE DAY in 112° Fahrenheit weather. Didn't get heatstroke but i do also like cooler temperatures, but I prefer warmer temperature..
One of my room mates brought a gentle sound machine for the room so they could sleep better! Also, make sure you lay ground rules for your room mates that they AGREE to before the convention.
I had a few friends that’d get a little too flirty and towing the line a bit to where I’m uncomfortable Id tell them to keep it pg-13. Sometimes people get carried away especially when drunk!
Tip for snorers: NOSE STRIPS. they make sensitive skin ones, at least get used to them so you can use them when sharing a space with people that may not be able to sleep around a bear moonlighting as a lumberjack. I've heard they make some in-nose things that dont have adhesive as well if that's something you're allergic to.

@@AshCoyote Well, I'm actually quite a bit shy when it comes to a group of strangers. And also, I got woken up at 3AM from notifications from a Twitter groupchat and got really mad since I was a bit stressed out from talking to other people in a group.
Tip for any con but furry cons specifically. If you see someone struggling from overheating or thats maybe collapsed and doesn't seem to have anyone looking after them. Check in on them. Ask if they're ok, ask people around them if they're ok. If the people with them don't 100% know what to do and you do, don't be afraid to step in and help.
On the money aspect, always, always alwaaaayyys OVER prepare when it comes to money, nothing worse than running low on cash or not being able to get things that catch your eye while at a con just because all you got left is to get home, kills your vibe, just be prepared and have FUN.
having someone with you that knows what's going on is invaluable, but it's also AMAZING to experience things for the first time with someone! My BF and I went to Anthrocon this year, our first convention EVER! It was just the most fantastic thing getting to experience all of the firsts together. We did meet up with friends that had been before though, which was super cool too!
Suggestion I can give for cons: Be honest with how youre feeling! It's ok if you're not feeling as happy/excited as everyone else seems to be. Sometimes we have off days, and thats ok!
Tips for furry conventions always bring a family member, friend, or someone you really know and trust when going to a furry convention... If something were to happen to you your friend, family member, or someone you really know and trust could help you out... It helps if they're also a furry so that they're not bored during the furry convention... If I go to my first convention I'm bringing my friend who is also a furry because she could help me if needed and I can message her on my phone if needed... It helps to have a bag that has a strap that can go over your shoulder while in a fursuit so you don't have to hold it and can carry things in the bag like your wallet, phone, anything you bought, and etc.if needed... The buddy system is always good to have when going somewhere new, just far away from home, or around a lot of strangers...
One thing I hate is when people bully starter furries like me, they may not be able to afford £20,000 suits: but it doesn’t mean you should bully them! Thank you for your time.

If your super worried about your suit being stolen, I have two things that could potentially help. Have some gotta suitcase or something that you can lock to store it in while your not using it. I also know that they make small tracking things that you can use to find it Incase it gets stolen.
If someone is not around their station at a con like selling stuff, do not go over there and act like there's someone there. It's very annoying and people may get line Thinking there is someone there and wanting to buy stuff don't touch it. I mean, you can look at it. Don't touch it, don't steal, especially, it's just a mess sometimes.
The only thing I did wrong was bring some folks with me who were a bit anti-furry, and so to make them feel comfortable, I told them it was fine if we didn’t do much there. It was really disappointing because they took that as basically “we leave immediately after the parade and some shopping at the dealer’s den,” and I didn’t even get the chance to meet up with any of the folks I met online. This year though I plan on going alone or with my furry brother so that I can have a better time and do more things.
I havent gone to a convention in the 10~ years I've considered myself a furry, tho my hubs and I are definitely planning on renting a room to ourselves when we go. We dont know or trust anyone enough to share. Horror stories dont help with that paranoia lol, best be on the safe side!
When it comes to having roommates that snore super loud, the best thing you can do is pack earplugs or check to see if your roommate can get an anti-snore device for the next con you might possibly room with them. Ultimately, the snoring person should just seek medical attention.
I genuinely hope furries finally get the harmony they have all been wanting between everyone else. I think it is about time that people on this planet stop criticising others of one's own lifestyle and just you know, accept it.
I'm actually twenty-one and my height is pathetic, only 4'9" so i'm actually a bit scared that someone may think. 'Look at this little person' and try to pick me up in a hug. But i'm shy, timid and rather not talk to anyone i'm not used to. So i would have the 'Please ask to hug' button just in case because i'm saving up for my own suit, supplies and may go to a con in the future and i don't want to get hurt by that sort of action.
I went to my first furry con last weekend, and it was a fabulous experience (for me at least). The only thing I can say is beware of normies. One woman grabbed the ears of my friend’s suit (a cabbit) with zero warning, and there was a drunk guy who was milling about outside the hotel trying to antagonise suiters (we just went back inside). Most people were pretty polite and I didn’t have any issues with other attendees (special thanks to the news photographer who did a lil photoshoot with me and some other suiters on the first day).
The weird hours thing is such a mood for me. I used to occasionally get someone wanting to chat at 2PM, knowing full well I was asleep during the day, that is if I had been able to cool my room enough to sleep in the first place. I eventually left that job due to the sheer exhaustion. One incident falling asleep at the wheel on the way home from work on an international highway ( thank god for rumble strips waking me up before disaster struck) and I was officially donion rings

I know you meant this to be a compliment, but it's actually something you shouldn't say to trans people. We don't take it as a compliment. Plus, the idea of "passing" is complex and trans people deserve respect even if they don't "pass"
I go to cons with friends who snore. I don't usually recommend OTC sleep aids, but Unisom or Melatonin for the duration of a con helps take the edge off. I also found cognitive behavior therapy (convincing myself I could sleep) also helped me. It's taken a lot of practice because I cannot deal with snoring very well, but knowing I will be sleeping with snorers in advance helps me prepare mentally in advance. If you need to draw out the noise somewhat, audio books, white noise, or podcasts help. They also helped one of my friends who is a snorer sleep better.
best fur con tip: bring painkillers, my legs and arms were killing me after my first fur con with how much I was on my feet and moving around, I wish I had brought some advil, ibuprofen, novocaine, nitrous, just fucking something to help with my joints my legs were on fucking fire by the time the con was over I could barely drive home. (maybe not those last two but still bring painkillers)
Goodness, you have had a lot of bad luck with con roommates. I've been to about 30 cons, with a lot of them rooming with people I just met, and I've been really lucky. No horror stories like that.
I think the best advice is be careful what you drink. Never drink something after you put it down. Don’t take your eye off your drink. The more you know. Because knowing is half the battle.
I have also seen the "i planned on everything except for leaving" phenomena. On a bigger point I had a roomie who bought three pizzas. All for himself. NO TOUCHIES He proceeded to eat on those pizzas for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the entire duration of the con. No refridgration. They stayed in the same place. He didn't even stay at the con. He was just there in the city for an arcade or someshit. Also ear plugs are the best investment when splitting a room.
Bring earplugs, drink water, take meal breaks, if you have to shower multiple times a day Do it. If you move hotel furniture move it back! Respect the hotel or the con could get banned from that hotel. Also there are guests at the host hotel that are not there for the con so be respectful!
A lot of the comments in this episode is why I try to get a room just to myself at cons. I used to snore really badly (its gotten better) so have kept roommates up at cons before. Or worse, flipping over in my sleep and waking up with my hand on the other person (usually in a bad spot for it to be). Plus I want the alone time in the room at night and sometimes during the day as a break. I am never comfortable with others in the room even if I know then well.

Fursuiters that were having sex underneath a staircase (Don’t ever do it) and was recorded on phone and even one Suiter walked passed them. I've got sleep apnea so I snore super bad. Before I got my CPAP machine I would bring earplugs to cons for my roommates. (They also knew in advance, so it wasn't a surprise!) One of my big tips for cons is to recognize your limits. That goes for taking suiting breaks, and not going crazy with alcohol, but something I don't see much is mental health! Cons are extremely overwhelming, and even with the most social people it takes energy to socialize. If you've pushed past your limit and you're too exhausted to hold up a conversation properly, you're going to feel miserable and no one's going to have fun. Recognize that before it happens, and go take a break in your hotel room. Or, one of my favorites, put some headphones on in the con space and sit with a friend who knows to give you space. It's a nice mini socializing break without having to isolate yourself entirely.
A tip I use is to look at the schedule and make a schedule for yourself so you don't get lost in the chaos and can keep yourself from falling into dangerous situations
I've never been to a furry conventions but I've been to quite a few anime and comic book conventions but one thing I've learned is that if you have any issues with anxiety or crowds or just start to feel overwhelmed or tired try to take regular breaks from everyone, like find an area where there isn't any people and just sit there for a bit, people watch, have a snack, go through what you've recently bought, what ever makes you feel relaxed. And when ever you feel comfortable just jump back in there. I know it's pretty generic advice but all of us who've been to conventions know how easy it is to get wrapped up in the conventions.
Secure a room before you go to a con. I have met sooooo many people who don't have rooms at cons and show up hoping someone will pity them. All of them end up sleeping in the hotel lobby or thier car. One time at TFF my roomie and I were walking back to the room and encountered a suuuuuuuper drunk girl stumbling around outside. She had come to party at the con but had no room and she told us she was on her way to her car to sleep. We sat with her, chatted and helprles her sober up, let her puke in a bush and escorted her back to her car. This is one of the reasons I love furs is that they are so kind and concerned and want to help. Which we were glad to do. I think this girl would have passed out alone in the street of we didn't find her and help her. Sleeping in your car is not a good or safe option even if you think it saves money.
I will always get my own room, at the cons. Snoring, 3am feedings...lol, inconsiderate roommates, Etc...Not for me. So my own private room it is. Also Thanks for the tips, Ash, I've never been to a con in my life, and I'd be mortified if I accidentally committed a social no no when it cons to fur comes. I've been a furry since I was 12, but only fur suiting in the past 3 years. And I'm 43 btw. And as I said, I've never been to a con. Just haven't had the money for it. So I'm technically a "gray muzzle". I've been a virtual fur, for quite some time though. And if Covid ever allows us to go to conventions again, I'll be sure to remember these tips. Again Thanx Ash!
My tip for 1st time con goers. Go the dealers den 1st. As soon as you get their that way can spend more time will friends or in suit it works for me cause I am normally picking up a Fursuit badge that day
From Halloween night to a week ago today, I went to my local furry convention FurReality and not only was it my first ever con but it was life changing and the best experience of my life! Met so many people even Uncle Kage, attended so many events, got so much stuff, and overall had a blast! I have plans of directing sending the convention a heartfelt email and am currently working on a digital scrapbook of my entire experience with every detail I possibly can remember along with a heck ton of photos! It'd be really cool to meet you at a con one day, Ash!
My major tip is to always always no matter who your roommate is bring earplugs they’re cheap. We have had the miss fortune of being next to a few major party rooms and my family does a lot of children oriented panels in the Mornings. So we all need our sleep
My first con I was wearing my friends' partial and someone lifted me up from behind. I've gotten more fragile over the years due to my medical condition. My second con ten years later xD is coming up. I swear I'll have to wear a sign to be gentle with hugs.
I went to anthrocon for the first time last year and had an absolute BLAST, unfotunatly I couldnt wear my suit because I got mild heat stroke while there but once I wasnt wearing it anymore it was so much fun and I got to meet some friends there
From the days of 11 people in one room, to "I do not care how much it costs." try your best to get your own room or share it with a couple (as you said)IRL friends. The Quiet that settles the moment that door closes is sometimes the sound of Paradise. And yes ... as you get O-L-D, things inside you break, and stay that way, if you and your posse have been at "this con" for so many years they have teenagers now. PLEASE don't grab and squeeze your fellow posse member. ( I spent the first night of one in an ER once.)
I actually used the word Fantabulous, Fanterrific and Excellentastic when I was in High school like 15 years ago, I thought I was clever in making these words without anyones help. I figured putting 2 words together would be neat. It wasn't me that invented it but I'm sure its been around longer then my time but no Ash it's not a word but can be used as a word to describe something neat and awesome. See you at the F3 I will be there to watch the stream, I was one of the actors in the F3 and very excited to see what people came up with for a film.
My opinion: #1-I like hugs but I do not think I overdo it. #2-#4-I do not do that but I know there are people who do it. #5-Unless the other person allows, then maybe?
I'm a larger person, and I learned a years ago to be gentle it can hurt people. Also if I remember right you are supposed to swish the drink in your mouth "mixing the cement" and "drink" it. Cement mixers are straight up rot gut either way tho. But not all drinks containing cream/milk are bad. I love white Russians for instance! If made right they are a sweet delicious dangerous drink. They don't really taste so much of alcohol.
Tip: If sharing a room, earplugs, and eyemasks are must for decent sleep, insomniacs are always going to present so expect at least one person to be up at all hours. your 3am might actually be someones normal 2pm due to health or work schedules being 3rd shift, this isn't going to change for anyone's convenience for a weekend and changing it with sleep aids could do more harm for that person than it's worth as they have a normal life to resume after the con period.
See, i have a snore, but it's tiny Also while I've never been to a con i would think the big one is to make sure that if you have a disability like for example, I'm a quadriplegic and a wheelchair user, so i would check ahead of time what i may need for things to be accessible enough for me

Advise for a con: Bring your hair brush and a new one. You might loose yours or someone might loose theirs. Also detangling spray, if you have long hair, your fursuit will mess it up and somebody always forgets their hairbrush. I have super long hair and i have after taken of my head looked like a cat gave birth in my hair (and yes it was tied up). In conclusion Hairbrushes and Detangling Spray!
Bring Ear plugs Always keep you possessions tidy and Respect others space and things. For instance avoid putting wet under armor under wear shoes etc on or near others things. Talk with your room mates about the rooming situation before you room together. For Instance I tell folks I tend to be out till 1 or 2 and I sleep in at cons.. OR I am working this con so I will be gone most of the time but I will be going to bed early because I have a morning shift. Such things can help you avoid uncomfortable situations. Form a telegram group for the convention room. If you are going to need privacy in your room notify the other room members Via telegram ahead of time Or plan for it with them so they can plan around it. Always pay for your share of the room ahead of the Convention.
So say if your bones grow back in three weeks... What kind of system is that? And I have a suggestion for conventions; planning ahead to go to an outing outside the convention, like a dinner party or something at the end, might smooth things over with your friends or roommates. Ease them back to being in touch with their lives before going back to the place they live.
My very first furry convention was Anthrocon in 2017. My husband and I had roomed with a couple of friends at the time. We all had established some rules for the room which my husband and I THOUGHT it was all good. The rules were simple too... Do not allow strangers into the room when no one is there, don't get drunk since we are uncomfortable with people that drink excessively and just all around be respectful... Well... The following day, My husband proposed to me, it was supposed to be an amazing day. We went off to explore things on our own and have some fun, only to come back to the room FULL of complete strangers. Our 'friend' said she 'knew them'( which she didn't. She JUST met them) and tried to call us to ask if it was ok... which we never got any such call or text. It threw my husband into a panic attack. After getting him regulated, our then friend proceeds to TELL us, not ask, that she had a 'friend' that needs a room for the weekend and that she told him he could stay in ours... at no cost... This guy.... comes in COMPLETELY DRUNK and remains this way for the entirety of the weekend... doesn't shower... comes in and out of the room at all hours tripping over himself in suit... it was horrendous. I expressed how upset we were but we got ignored and pretty much said we were being dramatic... Needless to say we aren't friends anymore and that my husband and I will no longer room with anyone when we attend conventions.
I am going to be honest here, and no, I do not hate the TH-camr, I actually admire them! This is NOT considered as hate! Just something I want to share. MANY furry TH-camrs have made videos of Do's-and-Don'ts of furry conventions, fursuiting, acting, etc. Pocari, Majira, Odin wolf, many have already informed these rules. I don't see why these videos should continue growing, other than viewers watching specific TH-camrs, that, I understand, but these rules already exist and have been said by many, many furry TH-camrs, even popular ones. Now, on aside, I really like your videos, your content is quite amazing; I hope to see more from you!

Snore strips never worked for me. I had to fight to get on a CPAP, and it's one of the best things I've ever done for myself.

Tip for any con but furry cons specifically.
If you see someone struggling from overheating or thats maybe collapsed and doesn't seem to have anyone looking after them. Check in on them. Ask if they're ok, ask people around them if they're ok. If the people with them don't 100% know what to do and you do, don't be afraid to step in and help.
On the money aspect, always, always alwaaaayyys OVER prepare when it comes to money, nothing worse than running low on cash or not being able to get things that catch your eye while at a con just because all you got left is to get home, kills your vibe, just be prepared and have FUN.
When I go to my first con. I would want a roommate who kinda knows what they are doing. im a bit paranoid thank you tf2 for that
having someone with you that knows what's going on is invaluable, but it's also AMAZING to experience things for the first time with someone! My BF and I went to Anthrocon this year, our first convention EVER! It was just the most fantastic thing getting to experience all of the firsts together. We did meet up with friends that had been before though, which was super cool too!

Suggestion I can give for cons:
Be honest with how youre feeling! It's ok if you're not feeling as happy/excited as everyone else seems to be. Sometimes we have off days, and thats ok!
Tips for furry conventions always bring a family member, friend, or someone you really know and trust when going to a furry convention... If something were to happen to you your friend, family member, or someone you really know and trust could help you out... It helps if they're also a furry so that they're not bored during the furry convention... If I go to my first convention I'm bringing my friend who is also a furry because she could help me if needed and I can message her on my phone if needed... It helps to have a bag that has a strap that can go over your shoulder while in a fursuit so you don't have to hold it and can carry things in the bag like your wallet, phone, anything you bought, and etc.if needed... The buddy system is always good to have when going somewhere new, just far away from home, or around a lot of strangers...

If your super worried about your suit being stolen, I have two things that could potentially help. Have some gotta suitcase or something that you can lock to store it in while your not using it. I also know that they make small tracking things that you can use to find it Incase it gets stolen.
If someone is not around their station at a con like selling stuff, do not go over there and act like there's someone there. It's very annoying and people may get line Thinking there is someone there and wanting to buy stuff don't touch it. I mean, you can look at it. Don't touch it, don't steal, especially, it's just a mess sometimes.
Follow the 621 rule, always (minimum of: 6 hrs sleep, 2 meals, and 1 shower per day)
Going to your panel this year at MFF! I’m so excited!!!! It’s my first con!
The only thing I did wrong was bring some folks with me who were a bit anti-furry, and so to make them feel comfortable, I told them it was fine if we didn’t do much there. It was really disappointing because they took that as basically “we leave immediately after the parade and some shopping at the dealer’s den,” and I didn’t even get the chance to meet up with any of the folks I met online. This year though I plan on going alone or with my furry brother so that I can have a better time and do more things.
I havent gone to a convention in the 10~ years I've considered myself a furry, tho my hubs and I are definitely planning on renting a room to ourselves when we go. We dont know or trust anyone enough to share. Horror stories dont help with that paranoia lol, best be on the safe side!
I would be kinda upset if someone got into my suit, I wouldn't want my precious suit to get dirty.
When it comes to having roommates that snore super loud, the best thing you can do is pack earplugs or check to see if your roommate can get an anti-snore device for the next con you might possibly room with them. Ultimately, the snoring person should just seek medical attention.
I genuinely hope furries finally get the harmony they have all been wanting between everyone else. I think it is about time that people on this planet stop criticising others of one's own lifestyle and just you know, accept it.
I'm actually twenty-one and my height is pathetic, only 4'9" so i'm actually a bit scared that someone may think. 'Look at this little person' and try to pick me up in a hug. But i'm shy, timid and rather not talk to anyone i'm not used to. So i would have the 'Please ask to hug' button just in case because i'm saving up for my own suit, supplies and may go to a con in the future and i don't want to get hurt by that sort of action.
Signs also might work. Like a sign that says, "ask to hug."
I went to my first furry con last weekend, and it was a fabulous experience (for me at least). The only thing I can say is beware of normies. One woman grabbed the ears of my friend’s suit (a cabbit) with zero warning, and there was a drunk guy who was milling about outside the hotel trying to antagonise suiters (we just went back inside). Most people were pretty polite and I didn’t have any issues with other attendees (special thanks to the news photographer who did a lil photoshoot with me and some other suiters on the first day).

The weird hours thing is such a mood for me. I used to occasionally get someone wanting to chat at 2PM, knowing full well I was asleep during the day, that is if I had been able to cool my room enough to sleep in the first place. I eventually left that job due to the sheer exhaustion. One incident falling asleep at the wheel on the way home from work on an international highway ( thank god for rumble strips waking me up before disaster struck) and I was officially donion rings

I know you meant this to be a compliment, but it's actually something you shouldn't say to trans people. We don't take it as a compliment. Plus, the idea of "passing" is complex and trans people deserve respect even if they don't "pass"
I go to cons with friends who snore. I don't usually recommend OTC sleep aids, but Unisom or Melatonin for the duration of a con helps take the edge off. I also found cognitive behavior therapy (convincing myself I could sleep) also helped me. It's taken a lot of practice because I cannot deal with snoring very well, but knowing I will be sleeping with snorers in advance helps me prepare mentally in advance. If you need to draw out the noise somewhat, audio books, white noise, or podcasts help. They also helped one of my friends who is a snorer sleep better.
best fur con tip: bring painkillers, my legs and arms were killing me after my first fur con with how much I was on my feet and moving around, I wish I had brought some advil, ibuprofen, novocaine, nitrous, just fucking something to help with my joints my legs were on fucking fire by the time the con was over I could barely drive home. (maybe not those last two but still bring painkillers)
Goodness, you have had a lot of bad luck with con roommates. I've been to about 30 cons, with a lot of them rooming with people I just met, and I've been really lucky. No horror stories like that.
Its been weird wild ride with furry cons and us but I love every minute of them!
I think the best advice is be careful what you drink. Never drink something after you put it down. Don’t take your eye off your drink.
The more you know. Because knowing is half the battle.
I have also seen the "i planned on everything except for leaving" phenomena. On a bigger point I had a roomie who bought three pizzas. All for himself. NO TOUCHIES
He proceeded to eat on those pizzas for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the entire duration of the con. No refridgration. They stayed in the same place. He didn't even stay at the con. He was just there in the city for an arcade or someshit.
Also ear plugs are the best investment when splitting a room.

Bring earplugs, drink water, take meal breaks, if you have to shower multiple times a day Do it. If you move hotel furniture move it back! Respect the hotel or the con could get banned from that hotel. Also there are guests at the host hotel that are not there for the con so be respectful!
A lot of the comments in this episode is why I try to get a room just to myself at cons. I used to snore really badly (its gotten better) so have kept roommates up at cons before. Or worse, flipping over in my sleep and waking up with my hand on the other person (usually in a bad spot for it to be). Plus I want the alone time in the room at night and sometimes during the day as a break. I am never comfortable with others in the room even if I know then well.

I've got sleep apnea so I snore super bad. Before I got my CPAP machine I would bring earplugs to cons for my roommates. (They also knew in advance, so it wasn't a surprise!)
One of my big tips for cons is to recognize your limits. That goes for taking suiting breaks, and not going crazy with alcohol, but something I don't see much is mental health! Cons are extremely overwhelming, and even with the most social people it takes energy to socialize. If you've pushed past your limit and you're too exhausted to hold up a conversation properly, you're going to feel miserable and no one's going to have fun.
Recognize that before it happens, and go take a break in your hotel room. Or, one of my favorites, put some headphones on in the con space and sit with a friend who knows to give you space. It's a nice mini socializing break without having to isolate yourself entirely.
A tip I use is to look at the schedule and make a schedule for yourself so you don't get lost in the chaos and can keep yourself from falling into dangerous situations
OMG always plan how to get home. That's like near the top on the list.

I've never been to a furry conventions but I've been to quite a few anime and comic book conventions but one thing I've learned is that if you have any issues with anxiety or crowds or just start to feel overwhelmed or tired try to take regular breaks from everyone, like find an area where there isn't any people and just sit there for a bit, people watch, have a snack, go through what you've recently bought, what ever makes you feel relaxed. And when ever you feel comfortable just jump back in there. I know it's pretty generic advice but all of us who've been to conventions know how easy it is to get wrapped up in the conventions.

Secure a room before you go to a con. I have met sooooo many people who don't have rooms at cons and show up hoping someone will pity them. All of them end up sleeping in the hotel lobby or thier car.
One time at TFF my roomie and I were walking back to the room and encountered a suuuuuuuper drunk girl stumbling around outside. She had come to party at the con but had no room and she told us she was on her way to her car to sleep. We sat with her, chatted and helprles her sober up, let her puke in a bush and escorted her back to her car. This is one of the reasons I love furs is that they are so kind and concerned and want to help. Which we were glad to do. I think this girl would have passed out alone in the street of we didn't find her and help her. Sleeping in your car is not a good or safe option even if you think it saves money.
I will always get my own room, at the cons. Snoring, 3am feedings...lol, inconsiderate roommates, Etc...Not for me. So my own private room it is.
Also Thanks for the tips, Ash, I've never been to a con in my life, and I'd be mortified if I accidentally committed a social no no when it cons to fur comes. I've been a furry since I was 12, but only fur suiting in the past 3 years. And I'm 43 btw. And as I said, I've never been to a con. Just haven't had the money for it. From Halloween night to a week ago today, I went to my local furry convention FurReality and not only was it my first ever con but it was life changing and the best experience of my life! Met so many people even Uncle Kage, attended so many events, got so much stuff, and overall had a blast! I have plans of directing sending the convention a heartfelt email and am currently working on a digital scrapbook of my entire experience with every detail I possibly can remember along with a heck ton of photos! My major tip is to always always no matter who your roommate is bring earplugs they’re cheap. We have had the miss fortune of being next to a few major party rooms and my family does a lot of children oriented panels in the Mornings. So we all need our sleep
My first con I was wearing my friends' partial and someone lifted me up from behind. I've gotten more fragile over the years due to my medical condition. My second con ten years later xD is coming up. I swear I'll have to wear a sign to be gentle with hugs.
Your first con can be overwhelming. Try to plan your days as You can. The fursuit 101 or fursuits for beginners is very good panels to check out.
I went to anthrocon for the first time last year and had an absolute BLAST, unfotunatly I couldnt wear my suit because I got mild heat stroke while there but once I wasnt wearing it anymore it was so much fun and I got to meet some friends there
From the days of 11 people in one room, to "I do not care how much it costs." try your best to get your own room or share it with a couple (as you said)IRL friends. The Quiet that settles the moment that door closes is sometimes the sound of Paradise. And yes ... as you get O-L-D, things inside you break, and stay that way, if you and your posse have been at "this con" for so many years they have teenagers now. PLEASE don't grab and squeeze your fellow posse member. ( I spent the first night of one in an ER once.)

I actually used the word Fantabulous, Fanterrific and Excellentastic when I was in High school like 15 years ago, I thought I was clever in making these words without anyones help. I figured putting 2 words together would be neat. It wasn't me that invented it but I'm sure its been around longer then my time but no Ash it's not a word but can be used as a word to describe something neat and awesome. See you at the F3 I will be there to watch the stream, I was one of the actors in the F3 and very excited to see what people came up with for a film.

I'm a larger person, and I learned a years ago to be gentle it can hurt people. Also if I remember right you are supposed to swish the drink in your mouth "mixing the cement" and "drink" it. Cement mixers are straight up rot gut either way tho. But not all drinks containing cream/milk are bad. I love white Russians for instance! If made right they are a sweet delicious dangerous drink. They don't really taste so much of alcohol.

Tip: If sharing a room, earplugs, and eyemasks are must for decent sleep, insomniacs are always going to present so expect at least one person to be up at all hours. your 3am might actually be someones normal 2pm due to health or work schedules being 3rd shift, this isn't going to change for anyone's convenience for a weekend and changing it with sleep aids could do more harm for that person than it's worth as they have a normal life to resume after the con period.

Also while I've never been to a con i would think the big one is to make sure that if you have a disability like for example, I'm a quadriplegic and a wheelchair user, so i would check ahead of time what i may need for things to be accessible enough for me

Advise for a con: Bring your hair brush and a new one. You might loose yours or someone might loose theirs. Also detangling spray, if you have long hair, your fursuit will mess it up and somebody always forgets their hairbrush. I have super long hair and i have after taken of my head looked like a cat gave birth in my hair (and yes it was tied up). In conclusion Hairbrushes and Detangling Spray!
Bring Ear plugs Always keep you possessions tidy and Respect others space and things. For instance avoid putting wet under armor under wear shoes etc on or near others things. Talk with your room mates about the rooming situation before you room together. For Instance I tell folks I tend to be out till 1 or 2 and I sleep in at cons.. OR I am working this con so I will be gone most of the time but I will be going to bed early because I have a morning shift. Such things can help you avoid uncomfortable situations. Form a telegram group for the convention room. If you are going to need privacy in your room notify the other room members Via telegram ahead of time Or plan for it with them so they can plan around it. Always pay for your share of the room ahead of the Convention.
So say if your bones grow back in three weeks... What kind of system is that?
And I have a suggestion for conventions; planning ahead to go to an outing outside the convention, like a dinner party or something at the end, might smooth things over with your friends or roommates. Ease them back to being in touch with their lives before going back to the place they live.
My very first furry convention was Anthrocon in 2017. My husband and I had roomed with a couple of friends at the time. We all had established some rules for the room which my husband and I THOUGHT it was all good. The rules were simple too... Do not allow strangers into the room when no one is there, don't get drunk since we are uncomfortable with people that drink excessively and just all around be respectful... Well... The following day, My husband proposed to me, it was supposed to be an amazing day. We went off to explore things on our own and have some fun, only to come back to the room FULL of complete strangers. Our 'friend' said she 'knew them'( which she didn't. She JUST met them) and tried to call us to ask if it was ok... which we never got any such call or text. It threw my husband into a panic attack. After getting him regulated, our then friend proceeds to TELL us, not ask, that she had a 'friend' that needs a room for the weekend and that she told him he could stay in ours... at no cost... This guy.... comes in COMPLETELY DRUNK and remains this way for the entirety of the weekend... doesn't shower... comes in and out of the room at all hours tripping over himself in suit... it was horrendous. I expressed how upset we were but we got ignored and pretty much said we were being dramatic... Needless to say we aren't friends anymore and that my husband and I will no longer room with anyone when we attend conventions.

I am going to be honest here, and no, I do not hate the TH-camr, I actually admire them! This is NOT considered as hate! Just something I want to share.
MANY furry TH-camrs have made videos of Do's-and-Don'ts of furry conventions, fursuiting, acting, etc. Pocari, Majira, Odin wolf, many have already informed these rules. I don't see why these videos should continue growing, other than viewers watching specific TH-camrs, that, I understand, but these rules already exist and have been said by many, many furry TH-camrs, even popular ones.
