It's pretty accessible for a Tekken game, content is better than most fighting games, online works fine enough (especially if you avoid WiFi warriors). Not a bad purchase, not sure when they are going to lower the price.

During ur combo, after Sentai 1+2, it puts u in heavens wrath so u can either 3, 4 or hold df into wind god step 1, 4 for wall splat and 1, 3 to keep them Closer
Turns still exists and nobody sidesteps unless they garyu and beyond. I even see people with S+ sidestepping and they dont even sidestep during the match.

Sidestepping is pretty good when you know what your opponent is doing. Spamming sidestep isnt going to do much, your actions need purpose. Another example, whenever i first fight a kazuya player i open with that move and it usually sidesteps the dorya or something else. I will however, rarely try to sidestep if i dont know the matchup that well.
" I'M BLOCKING!!!" while is was facing away from the opponent. The other "IM BLOCKING" I want to see the replay with buttons on. (8.45) Good stuff regardless.
looking at you transitioning quite smoothly from league to fighting games fills me with hope I could do so as well; frame data is so intimidating though but Tekken 8 looks insanely crisp I am absolutely in love with Reina and her movelist, but since she's a mishima with a lot of stances I guess I'll start with something like Azucena :D

Also, here are the ground rules for Tekken online experience: 1) everything you do is unsafe, even just a jab 2) everything your opponent does is +30, which is why you have evasive stances, parries, and reversals 3) It's easier to play on the right side but it's harder to get used to swapping
little known fact by most players in Tekken starting from 7, Claudio's wr2 is actually a HIGH that's minus on whiff. AKA, press the down button for a free punish
The step stance adds more damage to the wind god step if you do them after each other, also when you click 1,4 idk what stance that is but it also makes wind god step do more damage

Trust me it’s literally the same but 3D. Some characters have Gimmicks to them but if you wanna just learn the game period it’s not gonna be a hard adjust.
You should definitely get into tekken I came from years and years of experience from MK. I bought tekken 7 last week for super cheap and I can whole heartedly say that tekken is a masterpiece of a fighting game and I will not be purchasing MK1 anytime soon. Tekken 8 looks balls to the walls compared to tekken 7 but its still fun as hell, I learned jin and everything seems so complicated at first but if you take the time to memorize moves/practice and overall have that MK mindset you will do just fine since they are both fighting games. I literally had a spiritual awakening in the fighting game genre and tekken is a complete step up x100 compared to MK, it literally feels like MK is the baby and tekken is the adult its insane.
Howarang is such a spam char, but thats his thing, once you know his frames and moves it becomes super easy to counter him, still annoying but can be extremely predictable and im a Howarang player, and it damn sucks when the opponent knows my frames, its like hell at that point, by the time I figure out what follow up moves I can do to negate his counter against me the match is already over, lab time I guess
I wanted to try out tekkan since mk was getting dry, but everyone telling me u have to be a veteran to play the game. This would be my first tekkan so I wonder if I should cop or not
That's the dumbest thing I've heard, you don't need to be a veteran day one. The time you have to play against other new players is fleeting the moment the game launches. After months where the only people still playing are those planning to stick with it a new player will struggle. So now would be a good time since you can play against others of the same skill level. I've never played before and am having a great time, also you have the easy combo mode to help you out if need be. Saying you have to be a veteran for a new game coming out is bull. Everyone is figuring out the new mechanics veterans may figure it out quicker but that should let them go up in ranks so while you're still climbing you can discover and learn at a good pace with others the same rank. Sorry for my rant, not even sure I got my point across, just reading that someone told you that made me wanna type this. At the end of the day it's still your money and your choice so do what you want.
Tekken is so fun but also hard due to having to learn movement, just buy it and take it slow, pick one or two characters you like the most and learn their best stuff and practice kbd, sidestepping and wave dashing if your character has it, it’ll be daunting but trust me it’s worth it. Give yourself a year to fully understand your characters and the game itself, there’s no rush
