My daughter and I LOVE making quesadillas both at home and at camp. I think my favorite is chorizo, cilantro/coriander, jalapenos, mozzarella, and crushed pineapple with a sprinkle of oregano. Sounds weird, but lord does it go together great! Haven't tried making them on my mini setup yet, but now I'll have to try it!
Pineapple... that's both a frightening and compelling idea. It's hit and miss with pineapple for cooking, most of the time it's way off the mark but when it works, boy does it work. I guess I have to try it at some point now. Cheers Chad!
As a fellow pineapple lover, your variant really speaks to me. The cheese I got happens to be mozzarella and oregano I buy almost by the pound. Will try your variant this time. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Excellent video sir! Thank you. I have owned a Trangia mini for several years but never used it. I am a huge fan of the 27 model. Since i have been enjoying your videos it has inspired me to pack along the mini. It has performed flawlessly. Thank you.
👍👍👍 Good Morning Red .. Always a pleasure watching your posts .. and the dish looked delicious 😊. Ingredients and my favourite fillings .. yes, almost anything will do .. limited only by the imagination (or desperation) of the end user. Me, Sweet Chilli Sauce always seems to be skulking around in the vicinity and it pays the price 😁. Wind and windscreens .. I have opted for more robust windscreens as my ultra-light aluminium attempts have usually attempted to pull a 'Bob Dylan' on me .. 'Blowing in the Wind' 😏. Bad weather .. my third floor flat balcony has and still serves me well. Inter alia, testing before taking them out into the world, new (homemade) burners, cookware and such and new recipes .. naturally. Supervised of course, by the little Malti-Poo 😏. An added bonus is a partial view of the Rhine to the front approximately 200m away. Thanks for sharing and until next time, take care .. Tommy
Can your gear get too ultra-light? Obviously that seems to be the case. A view of the Rhine is a thing of beauty, I can second that anytime. Take care Tommy, Cheers!
Nice cooking Red! I´m gonna try this one with grill sausage one day. You picked a nice day. In Holland the weather is also wet, wet, wet... Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Henk.
Oh happy, happy! Another Redswede cooking video. ❤ Since I’m in the south central/southwest USA, quesadillas are very common. It was interesting to see your take on them. My favorite filling is cheddar/leftover beef fajita meat. I eat them with sour cream and avocados.
Great inspiration for a nice meal! Got tortillas, grated cheese and tasty sausages in the freezer which are overdue for usage. Actually I woke up to -20C this morning so I will do them in an ordinary pan at home this time, but will Trangize them at the first opportunity! 😂 Take care and have a great time until we get to share some time with you again. ☺️
Great video. I discovered your channel whilst looking for reviews of the Trangia Mini. I'm in my fifties and have decided to take up wild camping to keep me active, but as a keen cook these rehydrated meals do nothing for me. I think Trangia should send you a little something as I'm about to order one! As for quesadillas, when I make a big pot of chilli I put some aside for making quesadillas another day. Tried them recently with smoked cheese - wonderful!
Great video as usual. One question, where do you hike in Gothenburg? Are you usually in Vättlefjäll? Please advise about good hiking trails and places around Gothenburg.
Most overnigthers are in Vättlefjäll and there are several good trails to hike in the area. There is a number of campsites at the lakes, some with Danohuts, others you need to bring a tarp or tent for shelter. For dayhikes I mostly stick to Änggårdsbergen since it's close to both work and home, but Stora Delsjön and Härlanda tjärn has some good trails too and some campsites for overnighters. All of them are easy to access with public transportation but the flip side of course is that you won't find much solitude, but that's always in short supply next to larger towns. Cheers!
In other words you get British weather in Sweden in Gothenburg? No Coffee? We loved the weather in February. If you don't want to waste the tortilla get a T27 with a bigger pan.
O yes, there was coffee. I just drank it in another video. There is a chance that my stoves will get a middle sibling, just have to make my mind up on the setup. Most likely it will be a custom build if I get my way. Cheers!
Grill a fresh piece of fish 🐟 like cod or another flaky fish and just do fresh veggies minus cheese with sour cream perhaps, the cheese may clash with the fish if it is a strong cheese
Hmm, maybe a mozzarella or one of those smoked cheeses could work.. I guess it depends on the seasoning you use for the fish, but it could be done over the embers on the grill for sure. Cheers!
Love turning my quesadillas into breakfast ones with bacon, eggs, chorizo and cheese on my Trangia when Bikepacking
Mindblown, got to try that. Cheers Tony!
Those quesadillas look absolutely delicious😋😋
Yes, they turned out good if I may say so. Cheers!
Chicken and mushrooms with spinach and swiss cheese is one of my favorites.
Yes, spinach, cheese and Sriracha is a favourite of mine. For some odd reason I haven't tried chicken yet, got to rectify that soon. Cheers Zach!
Quesadilla with diced spam and cheese are the nieces and nephews camp favorite
I would imagine that if they make them theirselves it adds to the experience. Cheers Brandon!

Glad to hear that it got some use Zachary. For the simpler and smaller bites it does a pretty good job. Cheers!
Nicely done brother. Looked delicious. Great campfire food.
Thank you James, they came out alright. Cheers!
Yum, I will have a go at this on our next woodland trip.
I hope you'll enjoy it. Cheers!
@@RedswedeOutdoors Only found your channel a few days ago but have binged your videos, love the format and the cooking. Cheers 🍻

Nice one - will try these - Cheers from Aus!
I guess you're enjoying spring "down under" now, makes me wanna switch hemisphere this year too. Have a good one Matt. Cheers!
This video inspires me to make some quesadillas - I have never tried one but yours looked great! Thank you!
I hope you enjoy it. Cheers!
That looks so easy that even me should handle it 😂
Easy as pie... in fact pie is more difficult, LOL. Cheers Jonas!

Having the Atlantic as once neighbour will give opportunities for rain. Have a good one Henk, Cheers!
I'd go for quesadilla with refried beans, grated cheddar, a sprinkle of chilli powder , with salsa and sour cream.
Your food looked delicious!
Refried beans are soo good, never had them in a quesadilla yet though, that combo sounds delish Sarah. Cheers!
Nice one👍Trangia Mini absolutely perfect size for those quesadillas ! ATVB from a sunny and wet Malaysia🇲🇾
Yes, they worked very well. Cheers Razif!

That sounds like the perfect way to take care of ones leftovers and turn them in to a feast. Cheers Marci!

And here I was bitching about -2C the other morning, LOL. Stay warm and eat good until the next time. Cheers!
Good video Redswede, I'm going to try this recipe with andouille sausage and a bit of cayenne pepper. Thanks for the great ideas
Sounds great, hope you enjoy it Rick. Cheers!
Looks good! Got our first snow today here at the South part of Vänern. Might take a short trip and try someting like this.
We've seen some stray flakes but nothing that stays for now at least even if it's certainly frigid enough. Hope you get a good outing Erik. Cheers!
Hi fork, I really really really really enjoy your food video on Tranjia, make more videos please please, please!
Thank you! There should be more to come in the future. Cheers!

Add some sour cream mixed with a little honey lemon juice and paprika
Mmmmmm... I'm drooling.... Must try that idea Jim. Cheers!
Nu är jag hungrig ,
Oooopss.... ;-) Ha de'!
