Worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers parks department, used that Red Hot lava a lot due to repairing a line that is miles long it would never dry but that stuff would work in muddy water.
I spent years laying on my back installing air conditioning pipe work under transportable buildings and most of them weren’t as high off the ground as that one is so I feel you’re pain.
What did you use to hang the pipe? How did you attach it to the mobile home. Here in Michigan, I need to have a support every 4 ft. My underside looks like yours with the insulation. No boards to nail hangers to.
@@southernhomesteadtransformatio I only ask because my mobile home has the same thing and I don’t know what it does 🤣 I just have it hanging underneath my mobile home.
@@888huckleberry you are correct, we recently installed brand new skirting on our mobile home as we are ready for our final inspection, we thought maybe that was the wire for the heat tape on the outside pipes but turns out it lead to nothing, it was the wire for the taillights from when they transported the mobile home.
Should the drain PVC pipe be wrapped with insulation if you live in Minnesota? I just recently bought a 2021 double wide that doesn’t have insulated PVC pipe
Hey Scott, it’s very frustrating to have to go back and fix what someone else was payed to do the first time around, I get those jobs a lot, it’s either fixing what they screwed up or finishing what they started, but that’s the world we live in now, I’m glad I was taught better than that, I grew up around old timers that were picky and want just so or it was wrong in their eyes and you did it again, nice job on the drain, enjoyed the video as always looking forward to the next one

Scotty unfortunately you may have to redo your tie down straps when you relevel your trailer. Hopefully you will be able to still use it or won't have to unstrap it. Definitely should of poured cement pad or peers before blocking the unit PERMANENTLY there. That's ALWAYS code where I live . I just hope you don't keep having issues. If that was a double wide, that would of been a major mess.
Owner of mobile home thinks the septic tank and a clean out are one side house but near bedroom! Main bathroom opposite. Any thoughts where clean out may be. Underpinned. Not able to see main pipe. Scary under there..lol Thanks
Definitely better to wait until winter to venture underneath after it's been closed up for a while 😁......hard to know where it is ....location should have been dictated by DEHEC after they did perk test.....what state are you in?
Without seeing exactly what you have, I would say they plumbed it with 3 separate feeds to multiple sections of your unit....how many drain line outlets does it have?
I totally feel ya on this job, I just got done a few weeks ago replacing half of the sewer lines under my double wide, got tired of the clogs from the kitchen due to poor pitch and under sized piping as well as lack of cleanouts. Just curious of a few things. What were you fastening the straps to, the steel frame or the wood floor joists? Also, I've never seen anyone connect the A/C condensate to a sewer line, is that legal in your area? If so definetly make sure you have a decent trap on it, otherwise you'll be pumping sewer gas through your vents. Just a tip, that kitchen line has way too much pitch, on horizontal lines that causes liquids to zip by leaving solids behind. it would have been better to extend the vertical stub down and put a long 90 or a combo wye with a cleanout on into the horizontal run to get a smoother pitch.
It's looking good Sir!! If you move the blocking out to the side frame will you still get the skirt on? It's been 11 yrs since I've crawled around under a mobile mansion. Back in my plumbing days I spent many days under them as no other plumbing company in town wanted to crawl around under them. I got $91for the first hour and $61per hour after that to work under mobile homes and even more during the winter to do repairs when water and sewer lines froze and or broke. I miss that job. God Bless!!
Debra, skirting will be installed but no extra insulation is needed other than heat tape on the water line coming up from the ground. It does not get that cold here other than an occasional night or two in January.
I just purchased my mobile home and the contractors were supposed to install water lines and sewage. Well they installed the water line that ended up leaking and never connected the sewage pipes. I’m stuck right now. Thinking about just doing it myself. (No experience)
Depending on your ground service underneath it is everything I never seen a service as nice as Scotty had it all flat, up high enough to sit up plastic down, nice weather, plenty of light . That was dream scenario I NEVER had such nice conditions .. He made it look easy . You got to get that pitch correct, make sure you have clean outs on all your horizontals and strapping every 4ft is code where I'm at >> not sure how he got away with that and if that's the case it could present a problem under a trailer . But good luck if you didn't already do it. Oh most important Scotty didn't instruct either about heat wire. Depending on your area heat wire may need insulation and heat wire to keep from freezing .. also bees and wasps love nesting under trailers hopefully you don't have any of them as well.
Jonathan, that pipe is the drain for the washer, which is vented above so yes, that pipe ties into your main drain line (usually 3") which ties into your sewer/septic system.
Thanks Nancy, there should not be any exposed water pipes underneath, they should be in the floor protected. But the supply should be wrapped in heat tape so that can not freeze.
Hard to know without seeing it but usually it would come up out of the ground under the water heater. Send me some pictures to sthrnhomesteadtransformation@gmail.com

Jeff, I used metal strapping (with holes, comes in a roll) and fastened to the metal frame with self-tapping screws.
