Since my favorite character in the franchise is in I’ll play him until I get bored or if they add some of my other favourites.(Izmir, Apollonia, Stan and Aliza, Ilsa and Azusa to name a few) Io will be Relink so I don’t mind her being absent here.
idk if you know this Lotus (fellow seox player trying to climb ranks) but if you hit with cL, you can delay into cH as a true combo string. It also frame traps so you cant get mashed out of it, only DP/countered. But it allows you to do higher combos like cL>cH(2hit)>214H>cL>cHx3>236H/6H,8H>cL,cH ect ect.
Lowain's install super has 4 attacks. - Rock pillars: Super fast, I've just been blocking it. Can be used close range or far range. - Wind ball: Block or dodge. - Lava floor: Unblockable, but you can jump it, or use a well timed spot dodge. - Lightning: Does major chip damage. Use a well timed dodge (difficult,) or if you're far from the corner, dash towards her. She wants you to be far away since being up close means she can't combo many things into each other. Far ranged wind ball into lava floor is a guaranteed unblockable set up if you block the wind ball. At close range, you have enough time to block the wind ball and jump or spot dodge the lava floor. Hope this helps! Sincerely, someone who had to learn to deal with this super in the original game.
Oh, I forgot to add, the best way to deal with it, is to not let his health reach the point where he can summon her in the first place. Once his health is starting to reach the point where he can summon her, try and do a combo that'll finish the fight. Easier said than done of course, but if possible, go for it!

six is his name in japanese version on the OG game, and localized into seox for some reason. That is the case for all of the eternal not just six/seox, even anre/uno too. Depending on the game language that player use their name will change. I don't think people complain much about seox because seox still a typical "rushdown" character that people can still work around it. Seox is bag of plus frame while Nier on the other hand while being obnoxious to fight will also punish slight mistakes hard even on mid-screen, her knowledge checks are just too annoying to deal with, especially for average lower and middle bracket player.
I've been seeing nothing but nier complaints on twitter for the past 2 days and i do hear a lot of seox complaints too just less. I do think that that Seox is extremely easy to win with, and i also think people are calling out seox specifically because Nier is getting a lot of attention and they don't like thinking that seox is flying under the radar. That at least answers two questions: the question of her popularity and the question of why so many succeed with her. There's a lot of information on seox but nier is a new character which draws a lot of attention already and scrubbing people out with gimmicks that, as you said yourself, you don't know how to deal with. Exploiting people's lack of knowledge is an easy ticket to success at the early stages of the game. The most that can be said is that seox was top tier in the first game and only got stronger in rising. That being said however, it's not easy to say how good nier or seox is at the moment considering how early this is. Give it a month or two for the dust to settle a bit and hopefully we'll have a better understanding of where the pieces lie.
Agreed. So far this game is looking like a skullgirls situation to me, most of the characters are strong or at least have something good in their kit. Admittedly, most people have the same top 3 characters in the game being zeta, seox, and nier so they probably are over-tuned. It still is pretty early to judge though but they might just be right off the bat considering these characters play rate and rankings

Oh yeah, if you ever see someone spamming projectiles, don't forget to either 2U or charge 28U. you're plus and in their face if blocked, and you get a full combo even midscreen if it hits

I agree people will eventually learn how to deal with her more but it's also been proven before a character is just way to good on release and is actually OP once people learn more teach with the character as well. She just needs a nerf.

The other thing even if it’s minute, to take into consideration is that simple specials and auto combos probably make the learning curve for a harder character much less so.
even taking into account simple inputs and the simplity of the game, nier damage is too much for how much advantages she has. Most characters don't get too much from mid-screen but for nier, mid-screen is practically corner damage and even when its over she continues the pressure. This goes beyond "adapting", nier has to win less neutral interaction to win, and that wouldn't be a problem if it wasnt for the fact that she dominates neutral as well.
I said something similar on Kizzie's video. No one in Granblue is hard to play, because GBVSR just isn't that technically demanding when compared to other games. RELATIVELY speaking though, Nier has more to manage than anyone other character in the game as a consequence of her unique mechanics. I've seen more Nier hate, but I'm also maining her so I run in circles where her name pops up more. She's also the newer character, and is strong in a very different way than traditional GBVS top tiers(aka read as -- if you don't lab, you won't know what to do), so it's a given that more players and thus hate for her will be prevalent. Before I did though,(and before I played this game for that matter) it was all Seox and before that it was Belial. Seigfried's name is also in that discussion so he's next on the chopping block. The best character is actually probably Zeta right now, but she's an old character so I wouldn't expect a lot of new players to flock to her.
It's like "new char syndrome". Remember how a vast amount of players thought Cammy was weak on release? All it took was one major for people to realize how wrong they were. Also, did we find out what the F stands for?
I don't think Nier is incredibly difficult (But some tech are), Seox is easily the safest character in the game imo It feel like he has a large number of tools at his disposal, which he can take advantage of without it being too complicated at any point. I like Nier less so far, but mainly because she forcing you to rushdown her probably because I still lack the knowledge to counter her Well done against the lowain player
imo i think narmaya and zeta are the safest in the game, narmaya has a dash jab loop that forces you to Hdp and because of its disjointed hitbox, it snuffs so many options except dp's/counters. and zeta is just zeta lol.

sadly i cant buy the game now so im playing the free version and its fun as hell, i totally fell for Vira, i was lucky that she was one of the rotating characters this week, i hope i will be able to buy it in a couple of months and enjoy it completly. puppet characters are hard as hell to play and to give you an example of hard characters used by top players, think of enchantress in dnf duel, shes also a puppet character and is one of the hardest to play in the game but it is one of the most played characters by good players

I think you missed the point. It isn't that a character can't top tier and be difficult. I'm saying that if a character is truly that difficult then he/she isn't going to be the most popular. As strong as Happy Chaos was, there were only 2 real players putting in work with him. Leffen & Umisho. Partially because people didn't like the character (because of how good he was) and partially because he WAS hard.
Nier and Seox are both brainrot characters but, I’ll say mastering Nier is more beneficial than mastering Seox. Seox is definitely cooler to see tho cause his customization is sick af.

I dislike tier lists but from the few that have already come out, Seox is still a top character along with Nier. Granblue is a super grounded game mostly relying on footsies and the neutral unlike a game like FighterZ for example with the huge combos and getting two-touched is pretty common. Of course there's a strong emphasis on supers now with Rising but anyway. Seox is top much in the same way everyone is putting Zeta as best girl. The tools that allow these characters to be quite literally all over the screen are incredibly powerful in a game where the right opponent can blow you up off a single anti air. I'll take the Nier over Seox almost anytime. I find the rush down, aggressive playstyle just super braindead and annoying to deal with much like Lancelot. Also it's only been a week for the new characters. Nier could easily fall off given like a month and that shouldn't really surprise anyone. She could absolutely be labeled a top tier much like people seem to be needlessly trashing Grimnir. Once people learn how to play around Death, which undoubtedly is the current advantage to playing her, she'll probably start falling off tbh. Have to wait and see
