While both great content creators the videos I've seen from them thus far on this game are a lot more fundamental and basic than what I'm looking for. Highly recommend for beginner players to check out their content though.

Vaseraga knowledge for ya, when hes stomping and has the scythe behind him its a stance with a few different options he can use to end the stance the stomps also have hurtboxes so they will hit you i am also 99% sure he cannot block while in stance so if hes in stance without his aura (aura explained at the bottom) just slapping him with a long reaching move or projectile is fine usually
His reversal is a command grab with frame 1 invincibility (the blue move that was confusing you that he used on wakeup)
And lastly when he has the aura around him from doing his little flex animation most of his special moves will gain armor and then the aura will be used up and he will have to activate it again hope this helps

Not many great sources for seox, the way I learned was just from labbing by myself and experimenting in quick matches. As an S badge Seox main, one big thing I would recommend is utilizing his light rekka into dash more. all his auto combos, his medium long jab, and a bunch of other things all safely combo into his light rekka, and as long as you choose to dash backwards it is incredibly safe outside of a few niche character interactions. I tend to always dash backwards since most people in this game LOVE to mash, and then if they mash with a slow option (anything slower than a jab pretty much), I punish with a heavy rekka immediately following up. Do this enough and you condition your opponent to guard after your rekka, after which you dash INTO them instead of dashing back, giving you a cross up and potentially a full combo off of that alone. Very safe even when guarded, combos off of basically everything, and has great potential mix options after you've conditioned your opponent in a match. Add to that how it deals a bit of chip every time you do it, and it is basically the bread and butter of Seox's neutral game. Allowing him to safely go for pokes and immediately disengage without giving up his turn. Medium jab into rekka in particular is a very nice option for a bit of extra damage whenever you use his best neutral poke.
This last bit is more personal preference but personally I would recommend utilizing his gate of demons (air projectile when using heavy ver) as more of a projectile/ jump punish rather than a combo tool. I noticed you utilizing triple auto combo, raging strike, heavy jab, gate of demons into medium or heavy jab, which by all means is a solid combo, but for me personally I would recommend the much more simple combo of, triple auto combo, raging strike, triple auto combo, heavy rekka. It deals like 100~ more damage (4980 compared to 5150), but more importantly it leaves your projectile available to keep your opponent in the corner. Against seox it is incredibly difficult to get out of the corner, and with how far his rekka can carry you it's very easy for him to corner his opponents. With that in mind leaving your projectile available to prevent them from jumping out of the corner can be some excellent pressure. (just by jumping up and casting heavy version mid air before they get up after getting knocked).
As I mentioned though there is merit to utilizing either combo as having the rekka off CD is very valuable for seox's neutral, but at least for me personally I prioritize having the projectile to keep the opponent in their place until I can hit an auto combo allowing me to heavy rekka them again by utilizing the extra time given through doing a raging strike combo

Wow these are great tips. As a beginner seox player may I ask what are some more tips for seox?

    • @Karzakus
      @Karzakus 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@illusionary_slayer No problem at all! In terms of beginner tips the easiest recommendation is just spamming the ever loving shit out of raging strike for the extra damage. Until about S+ rank you honestly can just use these as freely as you want without thinking, but once you get to S+ it will be *thoroughly* beaten out of you to use raging points more intelligently.
Additionally start spamming the ever loving shit out of light dash attack. This is standard for every single character across the board, and is just an op poking tool. You dash attack fishing for a hit, if it hits do your full auto combo strings, if it doesn't do auto combo into light rekka dash back. it's always plus on block so you should use it commonly to poke.
For starters lets do some basic combos. There are probably more optimal combos out there but these are what I use because they're what I made myself.
      Basic poking:
whenever you land basically any move whatsoever (or even if you don't land it), immediately follow it up with a light version of the rekka. Light jab, medium jab, auto combo, etc. If you think the heavy version of the rekka will be enough to carry the opponent into the corner, feel free to use that for some extra pressure.
Auto combo corner string: this is basically what you flow chart into whenever any of your projectiles hit while the opponent is grounded in the corner.
Full auto combo, heavy rekka into archdemon kick, finishing with snake bite, full medium auto combo, and then finally meter version of rekka, skybound art, or superskybound art if you want extra damage at the cost of meter.
Demon step: Holding demon step will give you a plus on block teleport to your opponent, which can immediately be followed up with a medium heavy combo string as seen above. Keep in mind though that if they attack the projectile you will be punished.
Empty hands: When this connects honestly it doesn't do much, it's main use is as a pressure tool and gap closer. On connect in the corner the only thing that really connects is a light auto combo, which to be fair can combo into either of the skybound arts, but it's bigger use is to close distance, or to continue pressure, as this move is plus on block, and should your opponent try to punish with a jab they will give you a free full combo string as seen above.
Heavy gate of demons: This is typically used to punish a jump, but if for some ungodly reason your opponent lets this thing hit while they're in the corner you can completely melt them (e.g they try anything besides jump or block on getup)
Heavy gate of demons projectile can be combo'd into the hold version of demon step for a teleport hit at range. This can immediately go into your medium combo string, and finish with a skybound art, superskybound art, or the meter version of the rekka as mentioned above. This full combo off of a projectile hitting, caps out at an insane 10679 damage if you use the super skybound version while they have 0 gauge, but even without the optimal scenario it still deals insanely good damage.
Moving on from specific combos now lets talk about a few mix up options.
Have an opponent that loves to mash after your light rekka? You have two viable options. In terms of easy options, that'll be your medium version of rekka. When your opponent blocks your auto combo, instead of going into light dash back, go into medium to fish for a jab. If they jab, the medium rekka will punish them, giving you some free damage and nice conditioning, meanwhile if they continue to block, simply dash back on the 2nd hit of the medium rekka like normal. Your second option is a much more consistent punish, but it's also insanely harder to do. During the archdemon kick point of your light rekka, you have a very small window where you can fit in a heavy version of seox's counter. Do this right, and you will heavy punish jab out of the light combo. This is the ideal punish as it will condition your opponent that jabbing during your light rekka specifically will result in them getting countered, but as mentioned this in practice is quite difficult to do, even I struggle with implementing this in matches, but it's worth practicing due to it fixing the one problem seox has, which is having a good way to punish jab out of his light rekka.
Next up lets talk about guard happy opponents. These, you want to utilize one of two things. Either A, the cross-up grab technique, where after your light rekka on guard, you dash into them and immediately grab. This is only really necessary against opponents who actually USE the block button, so never use this as your first option, only do it if they seem to be able to consistently block your cross-ups, and don't typically try to punish with a jab out of your light rekka dash. Your next choice is to utilize the non combo variant of raging strike. This is typically done via a blocked auto combo, into an immediate raging strike rather than your light rekka. This when done will drain a BP from your opponent, two if they decide to react, but if they don't it'll give you a full combo. If they do though, it will leave them with a single bravery point, meaning that for the rest of the game your raging strikes are unblockable, giving you more than enough resources to kill them. Keep in mind though, this move is HEAVILY punished by a spot dodge, so if your opponent is smart they'll start spot dodging after your auto combo, in response to this though, you can just not do your raging chain and spam your jab, giving you a full auto combo if they spot dodge.
Lastly if you're getting heavily pressured in the corner and can't seem to find an opening, don't hesitate to utilize the brave counter to take your turn back. It'll deal a bit of chip and knock your opponent away. This should be used sparingly as typically you want to use your BP for more damage as seox, but the option is definitely worth it if you can't seem to find an opening.

I played a little of Vasaraga in the last version, and I remember that when he flexes his chest, he gain super armor on his next special. And they have a habit of using their ultimate ver. of command grab as a reversal because I'm pretty sure its invincible. As for the stomping move, you can duck under the baseball swing and dodge if he stomps on his scythe, so downback is generally safe. I'm not a great player yet, so I can't vive much advice on how to counter that stuff yet though. Maybe low crush moves when you have a gap in pressure or safe jump on knockdown if you can. Hope this helps if you don't already know!

Normally I watch replays of top players and see what habits they do and pick up what i think is useful.
Another thing with this game at least is while it seems simple on the surface and combo execution is fairly easy ALL the system mechanics are complex.
Spacing matters, Move versions matter, delays matter, every character has some random knowledge check that you need to know how to counter using the character specific tools etc
For pressure and such i think generally universal pressure in this game is:
    66L > L
    c.L delay c.L
using plus special moves in neutral etc
Seox in particular has really good ex/heavy special moves that honestly you can throw out in neutral and keep the pressure going.

Gran is pretty good beginner pick, teaching you the basics of the game and all of that, Djeeta is a bit more rushdowny, Siegfried is pretty good and is also pretty easy, he's slower than the other 2 but with larger pokes, Katalina is a really solid beginner pick, and for other character recommendations just throwing out random archetypes, Ladiva is a grappler, Lancelot has insane rushdown, Ferry and Metera are both zoners but Ferry is more attack based while Metera is projectile based, and Soriz is a straight up brawler and he rules

    • @Aisoreta
      @Aisoreta 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

also for tips on the game, just know your best pokes for your character, what can combo out of them and the best corner combo for your character, damage in this game seems low till you get to the corner, if you hit them while in the corner MAKE. IT. HURT. if you dont do technical inputs yet, do them they're massively better than the shortcuts even tho shortcuts do have their uses like 1 button DP's/supers, and finally dont be afraid of using too many EX moves, they come back decently quickly and are how you do most if not all your high damage combos, both midscreen and in the corner.

You learn by playing I guess...? I just would look up for combos every now and then, and see potential playstyles checking proplayers sets on TH-cam (there's quite a few already), and that would be enough to reach S back in the first iteration of the game... Right now is working the same for me in Rising. Dunno, imo this version is more begginer friendly and you get better pretty fast by just paying sttention to opponents. Running attacks are strong, overheads are easier to do (and faster I feel, are they still 6 framed?) and bravery points are super important, that's all I feel is different and important.

I've mainly been learning by trial and error. Sometimes there is a good video of "High level" play that features the characters I play. Though most of the time it is players spamming Dash Light and getting a counter hit combo for a W. I'm looking for more nuanced stuff for match ups and all that or how to deal with very specific situations/moves. It has been a big let down so far, but I'm invested into the franchise (playing the mobile game for around a year, bought both fighting games and have been hype for Relink the past 6 or so years.) so I definitely don't mind learning by myself. Would be dope if there was a Quwataro type creator for Rising.
Also Seox is called Six by the community. He is the sixth Eternal. The Eternals (or Jotuuns) are masters of their respective weapons. (there are ten weapon types in the game so there are ten Eternals) We mainly use the Spanish number names but if you say the English numbers people generally know who you mean. Anre(Uno), Tweyen(Dos), Threo/Sarasa(Tres), Feower(Four/Quatro), Fif(Five/Cinco), Seox(Six/Seis), Seofon(Siete), Eahta(Okto/Ocho), Niyon (Nine/Nueve) and Tien(Ten/Diez). I've personally heard the English variants more for the latter six but have included the Spanish for completeness.
Siegfried is my oshi(my star character) in the original game. He is my absolutely favourite character followed by Izmir(Larana) and Stan and Aliza. That guy was tight. Definitely have to super jump his medium fireball or evade it. It has super slow start-up so it can be challenged pretty easily. The main purpose of it is for him to walk behind it so he can get in on match-ups against zoners. Ferry is still stupid hard for me to fight though.
Dustloop has a decent amount of frame data up already, it has helped me learn at least where I can *try* to contest.

In terms of learning resources I've really liked Diaphone's guides, but I'm biased cuz he's covered my character. Might still be helpful to help with some matchup knowledge. You could also check out some guides for the original game as I imagine most of their advice would still apply. My friend has also told me to spam 66L to start pressure and that's really helped.

been playing Siegfried. little quirk I found in my last Seox match, if you don't delay rekkas to frame trap him then Sieg can mash H and screw up most of your enders. Dash back gets caught by far H and close H stuffs overhead and dash through.

Love the commentary! Really fun to watch. Feel a bit sad you can't find many Seox resources. Do characters have discords for this game? If you ever want to switch, the Cag community seem very great at putting out guides for the basics, setups and neutral c:

Hey, speaking of your thoughts on the resources available in game to learn, I feel like as a more casual player, this game is absolutely amazing in terms of what it offers. It explains everything you need to know very well and I didnt feel lost or overwhelmed by it all. Now sure, I guess if youre trying to learn more in-depth stuff, I wouldnt know about it, but I feel like at that point that isnt on the game to teach you but the community\yourself to grow from experience

I’ve always thought the game looked nice, I just suck at fighting games to learn. Granted, I am willing to put in the time to learn characters when I get my hands on the game.

Hey Lotus( and other viewers if you want to chip in your own opinions), I’ve seen a lot for this game and played the free version, it seems fun but I couldn’t play the characters that I wanted to try, is it worth getting?

just had a thought, since you know a lot of these content creators, why not make a collab video where one of them teaches you some of the more advanced aspects of the game. Since that kind of content is kinda sparse at the moment, it would probably get a lot of views.

I think the key to getting better at this game is patience. I notice that some players try to just run at you and press. But you really just want to control your space and let your opponent over extend. Seox has a move that lets your retreat for free, when you retreat just hold your space until your opponent tries walk forward or jump and react accordingly

Training mode has everything you need. You can peep the properties on all the moves by hitting triangle i believe. Then on the third tab they got a combo load out for ya. Outside that you'll have to go get smashed online to pick up stuff.

Seox is a very safe, conditioning based character who can alter jump arcs to bait anti-airs and such. He usually needs to dump a lot of resources to do big damage but in turn you get to fuck with your opponent a lot. Weaving in and out of attack range is super important
