Winter Soldier is the most sophisticated film in all of the Marvel Universe: the music, Henry Jackman; the script; the actors especially Sebastian Stan who can convey all the complex emotions of a very complex character in his eyes, no words needed!
This piece will forever and always define Captain America for me. It's filled with a sense of loss, duty, and an unending will to fight for what's right even when the rest of the world says its wrong.
I was speaking more to the character of Steve Rogers rather than picking a line from a particular film. The same could be said for Steve going after Bucky and the other POWs in The First Avenger for that matter. Steven disobeyed a direct order from his CO. That's just what Steve Rogers does.
The most epic, nostalgic and emotional soundtrack ever created. Over four years, thousands of replays and still the same feeling, every single time. Masterpiece.
Captain America: Winter Soldier is by far one of the best movies in the MCU and is my favorite, the scoring, narrative and character development made it compelling for me to watch it over and over again. But hey that's just my two cents.
The tone of the film is spot on too. Darker, but not too dark. More mature, no bad jokes, great action, moving scenes (that Peggy Carter scene...) ....By far my favorite Marvel film, and one of the best comic book movies to date.
+Zee Emm right on. I always find the Peggy scene very touching too, no mater how many times I see it. Let's hope civil war is close to the same level. Cap all the way.
My opinion also... with my brother we did a top marvel's list... and this one was my number one. It has everything... and in my opinion put Cap in my list of fav heroes, if not the best. His personality and spirit made the difference. I tought at the beginning he was bored, now I think he is the more interesting of them all... and the most misterious also . #TeamCap
You're not going to put me in a prison. You're not going to put any of us in a prison. You know why? Because you need us. Yes, the world is a vulnerable place, and yes we help make it that way. But we're also the ones best qualified to defend it. So if you want to arrest me, arrest me. You know where to find me.
Best marvel quote besides Tony Starks "we have a hulk" Walks out gov courtroom like a boss with smirk on her face Generals and etc looking stupid" she's right lol
Oh they certainly would. But this little speech is also much of what places Black Widow away from being just an agent, and into an Avenger (albeit a mortal one).
People said that this score doesn't work for a Captain America movie, that it sounds too "electronic". Well duh. It's supposed to be that way. Cap is out of the 1940's and has entered the modern age, this music is supposed to reflect that. And it does so perfectly in my opinion.
+Nathan Diaz It manages to hold a plethora of old-fashioned snare drums and trumpets, reminiscent of The First Avenger, but leaves plenty of room for an electronic or industrial sound of the modern age.
Seriously, This is like the 15th time I have listened to this, it still gives me tears, goosebumps and courage all at once. This theme song is awesome!!!
man, the fight was really brought to him in this century. Back in WW2, he was owning Hydra agents. This time, his maximum skills and strenght were put to the test. Great sequel, dark but epic score, awesome moving story and build up towards Age of Ultron.
From a composing and arranging point of view, this is a really well written piece of music. The entire piece follows through one motif, but it never outstayed its welcome - it was constantly changing in progression, melody, harmony, and texture. I love how it is so seamlessly and effortlessly done, not to mention the odd time signature it used (4/5) ending on the upbeat, but the bump was perfectly concealed and helps the progression flow even more naturally.
Loved this movie, doesn't feel like a superhero movie at all. But more like a spy thriller Jason Bourne type film, which really sets it apart from the other mcu movies.
Henry Jackman is genius! X men first class and now this! I even cant describe how my feelings are when I listening these two awesome scores. Simply I cant.
One of the best fucking movies I've seen. Hands down best Marvel movie. Fight choreography was insane, acting was on point, storyline was incredibly good, and OF course the soundtracks were badass.
i like captain americas' moves, like when he was chasing the villain on the rooftop and storming through the building or when he was assaulting the ship in the beginning
Well Cap was never a superhero, he was just the personification of a forgotten era and stuff like that, considering his mission in the past was to fight Nazis and Hydra
ShenWooXIII Even so, he's still a superhero in the eyes of many. I get what you're saying, he was basically the most elite soldier in WWII, battling Nazis, Hydra, and Red Skull. Though being injected with the super soldier serum did make him superhuman. Hell, he punched Galactus in the jaw, so that should be enough to give him the title of a superhero.
MindNumbingInc I know. But Marvel's first creation was never a superhero in his origins. He was a weapon, i believe in some of the later comics, they also said something about trying to reproduce Cap which led to experiments that created Wolverine and Deadpool.
This piece of art kept me doing push-ups, sit-ups, death lifting, running etcetera for almost 3 years already. Like captain says: "I can do this al day"
When I listen to this soundtrack I think of cap rising up against not a man. But an entity far greater in size than himself. An engine if war if you will, and the music is the sound of its components cranking away.
This song seems quite sad to me and that’s probably why I like it. Cap is out of his time, his best friend isn’t who he once was and doing the right thing has become a blurred line, this song captures all of that and blends it into one track
isaiah athill it’s a shame that this song isn’t more recognized or that it isn’t his main theme. It makes Cap a sad character and it makes me wish I could save the world like him but obviously we don’t have superheroes, we’re just people
i remember those days when my mother was still alive and i ran everyday to ask the universe that her life be extended with the more distance and sweat i can give (yeah i know it sounds stupid). I used to listen to this track before and when 8:01 comes and my sides begin to hurt i try my best to not give up or stop otherwise i thought my mama's life would stop too if i didn't make it in my distance and time quota every morning. my mother is gone already and when that time stamp of 8:01 comes, i feel like my sorrow or anger outweighs the pain in my sides and i just grunt like an animal the way Wolverine did in the forest in Logan where he was running berserk for the last time. Everytime i hear that part nowadays it's like i am welcoming a heart attack and exhaustion to take over so i can see my mama again at least for a few seconds if i can. powerful music this track is, and its influence to make you go beyond what you think your limits are. miss u ma. see you soon.
This is by far one of the best movies not just in comic books but in general. this film is so amazing that it's a full package. this movie keeps moving in every scene and in every moment. great action, great dialogue,Great everything. this movie is what u call a fuken movie!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I love this movie so much. I will still pick Spiderman 2 as my favorite movie of all time but this is my second favorite with out a doubt I hadn't heard any hater talk about this film!!! prolapse the Russo brothers to give us this fuken amazing movie. I'm so fuken exited for civil war. are y'all too??
I cannot believe Henry Jackman never used this awesome theme in Civil War! When I hear this, I automatically think Cap. The Winter Soldier's theme carried over but for some reason this did not. Anyways, I still loved Civil War.
This is so spooky, wonderful, and very moving. The part in the movie was a bit scary, but otherwise perfectly plotted and brilliantly planned. Good job director & composer!! Two thumbs up
This is the very first Marvel soundtrack I actually like besides "The Avengers - The Avengers". Hate on Zimmer all you like, but that Interstellar soundtrack. DAYUM.
This piece makes me feel like im preparing for a battle in which the odds are completely against me, yet i'm still at peace with the fact that i could die fighting for what i believe is right
Probably the best Marvel film since Iron Man. Has the strongest clash of ideas that are so relevant these days. Whether conflicts happens or you try to stop them before they happen, in the end, people die. So, what's more acceptable - punish criminals after the crime or punish for the possibility that they will commit such an act? Something similar was done in "Minority Report". Considerably better, but this ain't that far behind.
+Ken Catus Since Iron Man? Please Winter Soldier was awsome movie, Iron man was only really good movie. Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers, AoU and Ant Man, Civil War are better than Iron Man too. Even IMHO First Avenger and Thor was better too...
KallenSC Civil War has now become my favorite Marvel film to date, Ant Man I haven't seen and won't see - it's a matter of principle, AoU - really liked Ultron, but the feel of the film was all overt the place, Avengers was just a good popcorn flick, GotG is a piece of shit in my book, I can't stand that garbage.
wow. at 4:58, that part where the music transitioned from electronic to acoustic instruments, that was pretty neat! also it symbolizes how Captain America was catching up on the times after being asleep for decade, and being up to date with technology. but at the same time, he's still holding on to his old fashion beliefs, never wavered or changed his ideals. even Fury told him to get with the program and see the world for what it is, and my man said "don't hold your breath.' this music score perfectly reflects that. excellent work, Henry Jackman.
I really loved this film and the trilogy. It's 2018 and I'm still thinking this is the best movie ever... I love Captain America and I'm not prepared to see A4.
this is the best song ever from the movie, I especially loved the scene were capt fell from the helicarrier in slomo with that music 😍😍😍😍 it was a peice of art, just like this song 🎻🎻🎻🎶🎼
FTW_Montagez Yeah it was pretty blah. Nothing terribly memorable. I think the main queue for the movie was alright, but the execution left a lot to be desired. And you're so right. Generic. It sounded like a standard action/adventure ost. CATWS is a superior film in every way including the score. Not sure what trash that CW score was
This ia the song that plays during the credits Ita like another version of taking a stand. Theres also the one that plays when they show thw animates credits screen before the credits roll
because of how heroically tragic this score is.. fitting tone for the film that a lot of people don't seem to appreciate. The score for the 1st film was fitting for that because of the lighter tone & patriotic story, showing how black & white everything/everyone was portrayed back then.. a simpler time of truth, justice, & patriotism. .. but nowadays, relating to this film (Winter Soldier), things have become different, people have turned against each other, we ride that grey line of everyone becoming corrupted & manipulated by the governmental system, meaning that truth, justice, & patriotism have turned into conspiracy, order, & control..
I feel like the first movie was worse in terms of war and chaos. It was harsh for everyone back then and even Cap who went through the suffering of losing Bucky
I apologize.. I didn't mean that it was problem free for everyone back then, I just meant that in those days, there was a clear definition of a terrorist & who to trust/distrust.. A simpler, yet harsh time. Nowadays, people are corrupted by the system, and thus issues become larger, personalities become grey, & war on terror looms around every corner.. In turn, we have become the problem that we have to fix.. our own humanity.
Captain America The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron are the pre-cursors to Civil War. I have been pleased the entire time, yes they changed a bit from the comics but it works well. Always been a Captain America fan, even in the comics. There's even a mantle of Frank Castle taking up the Captain America role at one point too. Chris Evans will always be Steve Rogers just like Robert Downy Jr will be Tony Stark and Hugh Jackman Wolverine
Even though caps not my favorite from marvel *cough*deadpool*cough, but kinda like ezio from assassins creed did, since in the marvel universe there werent always plenty of happy heroes who team up all the time like in the justice league, cap pretty much resurrected the whole "hero" definition, and set the bar for the rest of the a verges to follow. It's even shows on Starks face in the avengers when cap calls him out on pretending to be an actual hero.
The beginning of this song is gonna play when steve dies in infinity war 2, i can feel it, him taking his dance with peggy after so long, im not ready to let steve go :(
Listening to this after seeing Captain lifting the Mjolnir in Endgame... In 2014 this soundtrack already told us that he was worthy
I’ve said it once on another video, and I’ll say it again here: after all the pomp and circumstance of Endgame, this is still the MCU’s greatest film
Im not even a Marvel fan, a huge Fan of DC myself, i love this movie the most of all Marvel even Endgame and infinity war is not as good as this film
I agree wholeheartedly. Endgame and even Infinity War were quite disappointing to me..
Yep the last ones had a lot of bombast but Cap's heart showed through in this one and that's all you need
This and the 1st ironman are the best mcu movies
Best film but for me ShangChi is right after ShangChi and this movie are my favorite mcu movies
Winter Soldier is the most sophisticated film in all of the Marvel Universe: the music, Henry Jackman; the script; the actors especially Sebastian Stan who can convey all the complex emotions of a very complex character in his eyes, no words needed!
donnakogan
Yeah, Sebastian Stan spoke only few words in the entire movie. But he ended up becoming my favorite MCU character.
This piece will forever and always define Captain America for me. It's filled with a sense of loss, duty, and an unending will to fight for what's right even when the rest of the world says its wrong.

FACTS.
Over 8 years and same everything

Not to to mention it was one of the first game changers in the entire mcu.
I was walking to my car listening to this, and a hawk flew about 20ish feet from me while the Sun was setting... It was the most epic walk of my life
I was walking home and it was raining and I tripped into a pile of mud with a whole bunch of worms in it and pissed myself
I shit you not
I bet it was in slow motion to lol
That would never happen to the Winter Soldier.
That's an American walk, right there.
That hawk "Hey. My theme song!"
"The price of freedom is high. But it's a price I'm willing to pay."
Love this song
This world needs a CAPTAIN AMERICA
Chris Evans NEEDS to be Cap in real life. Please.
You're not going to put me in a prison. You're not going to put any of us in a prison. You know why? Because you need us. Yes, the world is a vulnerable place, and yes we help make it that way. Best marvel quote besides Tony Starks "we have a hulk"

TestAcct46 Of course, in real life, anyone intelligence agent arrogant enough to say that probably WOULD end up being put in prison.
Oh they certainly would. But this little speech is also much of what places Black Widow away from being just an agent, and into an Avenger (albeit a mortal one).
Big Ant TV Media LLC Loki’s “We have a hulk” hehehehehh
"I am Iron Man."

This theme and score as a whole is awesome!!!!!!! I have chills every damn time! That´s what it is!!! And movie? Flawless!!!
hell yeah. this is the best score for the film, I'm so glad it wasn't just generic orchestral noises that is done in 90% of other marvel films
best marvel soundtrack
@@archivedaccount2000 With X-men first class,Amazing S-M 2 and Incredible Hulk. Howgh!:)
Seriously, This is like the 15th time I have listened to this, it still gives me tears, goosebumps and courage all at once. This theme song is awesome!!!
15th? Hah. Weak.
Its already been 5 years since this legendary film came out in theaters
6 years ago. :)
I remember seeing it on the day it came out. IT. WAS. AMAZING!
man, the fight was really brought to him in this century. Back in WW2, he was owning Hydra agents. This time, his maximum skills and strenght were put to the test. Great sequel, dark but epic score, awesome moving story and build up towards Age of Ultron.
Something that I really liked about this movie was that regular people actually posed a threat to cap
The Winter Soldier was the pre-cursor to Civil War
Age of Ultron to me felt like the start of Civil War
From a composing and arranging point of view, this is a really well written piece of music. surfitlive I understood that reference
Loved this movie, doesn't feel like a superhero movie at all. But more like a spy thriller Jason Bourne type film, which really sets it apart from the other mcu movies.
Always side with Cap. Civil War, whoop Iron Mans Robot ass. #TeamCap
cool
Gotta love Cap.

I always love Henry Jackman's music, especially those in X-men: First Class. Fucking awesom!

Still listening to this in 2018. 3 weeks until infinity war!
Casey Clark So, how ya holdin up?
I'm so happy Henry Jackman is returning to do the score for Captain America: Civil War.
surfitlive Haha so true. I also loved his score for X-Men: First Class and Kingsman: The Secret Service.

+William Anderson And he's composing for a very anticipated video game, Uncharted 4. :D
+L i z z L o v e r Seriously? I didn't even know that. That is awesome!
William Anderson Hopefully he will return to score Infinity War.
It's been four years and I still don't understand why people hated TWS soundtrack that much.
Idiots. :D
Cap is not my fav super, but this music makes me like him more. It somehow helps me understand his character. Very well done.
Well Cap was never a superhero, he was just the personification of a forgotten era and stuff like that, considering his mission in the past was to fight Nazis and Hydra
ShenWooXIII
technically he's just a guy pushed to the limits of human genes
walker dean That, and the supersoldier serum that allows to him to survive in ice for 70 years without food, water and air lol

Why can’t i find people like you in my life....
When I listen to this soundtrack I think of cap rising up against not a man. But an entity far greater in size than himself. An engine if war if you will, and the music is the sound of its components cranking away.
Can't stooped to listen this track! It makes me proud that I'm fan MARVEL CINEMATIC!
This song seems quite sad to me and that’s probably why I like it. Cap is out of his time, his best friend isn’t who he once was and doing the right thing has become a blurred line, this song captures all of that and blends it into one track
Forerunner that’s exactly how I feel about it

In my humble opinion this movie is STILL the best MCU movie and this soundtrack is the best!!! I Love this movie!
A true Hero Song, how nostalgic...
winter soldier soundtrack is greater than all other marvel soundtracks
I cannot believe Henry Jackman never used this awesome theme in Civil War! When I hear this, I automatically think Cap. The Winter Soldier's theme carried over but for some reason this did not. Anyways, I still loved Civil War.
To be fair none of previous Iron Man themes were used too. It was an odd soundtrack for sure, probably because the movie it self was very odd.
Riddick ; each Iron Man movie had different composers. This one had the same. Jackman could have carried it over or retooled it.
The best MCU movie, score and hero.. 💪🏻 Keep comin back to this masterpiece

+FTW_Montagez i like this movie soundtrack more than cw!
+Darktron Studio The Winter Soldier score is superior to Civil War. Totally agree
+thedefinitive yeap,badass.
CW soundtrack was so generic and forgettable, i was severely let down by Mr. Jackman's phoned-in soundtrack this time around! WS OST for life!!!

10/4 TimeSignature!!!, sound really cool here
"This sounds like a good song to learn-- Shit."
Snippets 6:25 - 6:45 or 7:35 - 7:45 should be more explored as captain´s soundtrack.. would be a nice chorus.
Still the best MCU movie by a longshot
This seems too good for a MCU film...a nice change for the better!
Wife: haven't you listened to this 11 times today?
ME: I CAN DO THIS ALL DAY.
Metal Gear Winter Soldier
yessss
THANK YOU!! I’m so glad someone else got MGS vibes from this
"The memes Jack. What do they mean?!"
no wonder why
What I imagine the next TRON to sound like.
From 7:07 the combination... I have no words to express how fantasstic it was... thank you!!!!!
Glorious and epic !
This ia the song that plays during the credits

Speed it up to 1.5 at around 3:00. Pure gold/musical dope.👀😎😎
Cap, if you're reading this.
You the man!!!!
god. this score perfectly describes cap, as long as you disregard the last ten minutes of endgame
Civil war by far is the best MCU movie, plus i listen to this soundtrack for motivation
I'd say Winter Soldier is still the best.
+Murali Thaya Agreed
This is officially apart of my workout playlist
This soundtrack is so good!
Masterpiece!!!
I Don't Know Why.... But This Makes me Cry.
because of how heroically tragic this score is.. fitting tone for the film that a lot of people don't seem to appreciate.
Yes, Sadly But True. I Know All That Stuff..... It's Just, It Makes Me Feel A Little Nostalgic....
Same idkw either
Cap VS Iron Man for Captain America 3... shit just got real

I second that.
Same.

Thanks for the heads up, I always check here to know when to brace myself for the feels :D
Such an awesome score.
Best Marvel movie by far
7 years it's still a hit
Even though caps not my favorite from marvel *cough*deadpool*cough, but kinda like ezio from assassins creed did, since in the marvel universe there werent always plenty of happy heroes who team up all the time like in the justice league, cap pretty much resurrected the whole "hero" definition, and set the bar for the rest of the a verges to follow. It's even shows on Starks face in the avengers when cap calls him out on pretending to be an actual hero.
love this
Wish we had a real Captain America, especially today...
loving it superb
The guy who make all this soundtracks just deserves a ferrari
Love this!
Track of the year so far for me
