I'd say Civil War couldn't match this one, this one is the highpoint. IMO the focus being scattered amongst the ensemble cast really messed with it, also, it would have been such a beautiful end if it followed the original story, much more impactful.
Honestly, the level of quality in the Cap trilogy is far below TDK trilogy and any other all time great trilogy, so it's easy to top its previous movies.
It’s beautiful and haunting at the same time. I have always thought that part illustrated the pain Cap has gone through and everything he lost. Evans nailed this role, he was born to play cap. Just like Cavill as Superman.
Best part about this theme is the overarching sense of sadness throughout it. You can really feel Steve Rogers' pain through this entire theme. The pain from the loss of innocence combined with the rising crescendo leading into a heroic stand against cynicism. I know this is a longshot, but you can almost feel that this song is CA's stand against those people who worship the dark and gritty "more relatable" heroes.
EclipseHedgehog Nothing wrong with it at all. I just feel that many people believe that darker characters like Batman are more relatable. Says nothing about me.
Humphrey Kaye yeah to me batman and bruce wayne aren't as relatable as say; clark kent or peter parker. he's a billionaire who pushes everyone away who wants to help him, able to get into any womans pants within his radius, is a martial arts and escapist master and the worlds "greatist detective" all because he has money. meanwhile cark is the everyday man who's happy with what he has, he doesn't get a lot of attention and lois sometimes patronized him, he stumbles and apologizes a lot, he isn't as noticed because he's the bumbling clumsy guy, he's polite and raised on good ethics by ma and pa kent. etc. peter is the kid who's always down on his luck who just happened to have super powers and the reasons he keeps being spiderman instead of focusing on his regular life; guilt. for failing uncle ben. its done better than bruce's tragedy because when bruce lost his parents, he was just a kid. there was nothing he could do or expect.
except thats NOT who Clark Kent is. thats who Clark Kent PRETENDS to be. Clark Kent is the guy with godly powers whose content to be thought as just a clumsy reporter.
What a great score. This was the movie that changed my perception of marvel cinematic universe which I earlier considered as childish and goofy. This movie proved that marvel can come up with mature, serious stories and characters. Watching Captain America: The first Avenger and Avengers 1, I thought of cap as a useless and badly developed character, but the winter soldier overturned my thinking.
The Russo Brothers got me back into the MCU and personally for me Jon Favreau, Jon Watts, James Gunn, Kenneth Branagh, Joe Johnston and the Russo Brothers were the best directors Marvel ever had. Joss Whedon’s work on The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron was good, but he’s definitely not my favorite.
The price of freedom is high, always has been, and it's a price I'm willing to pay. And if I'm the only one, then so be it. But I'm willing to bet I'm not. remembering endgame scene Cap standing alone against the crew of Thanos.
Whenever you feel alone against anyone, whenever your path is a lonely road, listen to this and remember the Cap who went against all with the strengh of all his belief .... That's translated into this song, best one from MCU ever
The entirety of this song is excellent. But I think the movement starting at 5:00 and carrying us through to the end really captures the majestic, onerous task of assuming the mantle of Captain America.
Personally this score explains my life daily as I struggle with my inner demons. The sadness in the beginning, the haphazard nature of my day to day comings and goings while trying to be the best version of me, to try to be OK. But then it builds on the necessity for me to be confident and have courage to dig in no matter what. To commit to whatever decision and accept the outcome. And finally not to regret my past but to be willing to learn from mistakes and hopefully be better the next day. Which is why CA was so relatable because he was written by the Russo's to be uncompromising, determined, decisive and unapologetic almost to a fault. The trait that most of us aspire to have. Courage to take on life on life's terms and to take it on without fear of the unknown or regret from past mistakes.
Even with all the misgivings I have about many MCU films, this one felt so perfect to me. The best writing for the characters with a sensible plot twist and Steve doing his best to be a hero even through what it might cost him. That's part of what I love about this character and many superhero stories; Steve isn't a hero because he's super (though it certainly helps) but because he unapologetically does what's right, no matter what.
I'm a sucker for properly used uncommon time signatures and this song is one of the best examples. I don't know if it's scored in 10/8 or 3/4, 3/4, 4/4 but it's perfect. The 3/4 is hurried, anxious, the 4/4 is an extra breath to reset and then it's back to 3/4. It's written to leave you unsteady but determined, dismayed but hopeful; a perfect superhero theme. Bravo Henry Jackman.
I completely agree! I saw someone saying that this was the worst soundtrack in the MCU, but its one of the best. The tracks go along perfectly with what is happening!
This song is fucking incredible. I can’t get over how the 10:8 time signature allows the horn melody to lag behind the beat a bit and just have more impact as it sustains over that extra beat in the measure.
I feel like Steve lost his innocence in this film. He was always the straight-and-narrow soldier. Following orders. Doing what was best for the greater good. Learning Hydra had been guiding the world while he was frozen woke Steve up from a certain naivete. The end of song I feel reflects the loss of Steve's otherwise pristine outlook on being that soldier and the implicit trust that comes with being a soldier to becoming disillusioned with SHIELD and why he finally tells Fury it all has to go. The song becomes a lament in that sense. The world Steve knew was gone.
Still the greatest film in the MCU and this is the MCU's best song. It's amazing how Cap's first theme went from the corny rah-rah feel to the new, somber reality of this film. This song beautifully brings out that reality and sadness to Cap's new world. And, who doesn't love a good spy thriller, capped off by the amazing Robert Redford.
This is no doubt one of the greatest themes I've ever heard. Even after years of listening to it, it just never gets old. That's the mark of true greatness -- the test of time.

I feel like Henry Jackman meant this entire piece to speak volumes on who Steven Grant Rogers really is. To clarify my meaning, I listen to the first 1 and a half minutes as an ode to what we've seen from our favorite Captain before The Winter Soldier, from 1:24 to bout 7:00 as a composition on how he evolves in The Winter Soldier, and the rest as the harbinger of the awesome specimen he becomes at the end of TWS. I don't know if anyone agrees with me on this, but if you don't, listen to the soundtrack one more time after reading this, and you've got to admit it's not an insane theory

The first Marvel Movie to have a different bourne inspired score, i'm glad they wanted to try something different and not making it a typical superhero soundtrack you hear all the time.
The most memorable theme of all the MCU movies! For me Cap2 is the best MCU movie so far, even beating IM1. The main-on-end title sequence by Erin Sarofsky is one of the best work of digital design I have ever seen. Its has become one of my favorites. Can't wait for Civil War Avengers 3 by the Russo's and I hope Henry Jackman will do all of their scores. Alan Silvestri's theme for Cap1 was completely nondescript, just like the movie itself. If anything it reminded me too much of Star Wars.
Can't wait to hear more of this for 'Civil War'! Mr Jackman's returning to score Cap 3 in case nobody's aware of that yet. Can't wait to hear his Iron Man theme, should be pretty epic
+Zenzi Sage I definitely think "can you dig it" is a great representation of a triumphant Iron Man so it's inclusion in Age of Ultron was very nice but I think it would be out of place in Civil War since he is the pseudo-antagonist.
They turned Cap into a badass without sacrificing any of his character traits. Even his theme is the coolest out of the rest. Russo brothers are fucking geniuses

@surfitlive yeah, did you read my comment? Peter already is far stronger than cap in the mcu. He is just new and and doesn't know his power limit yet. The comics also reinforce my point. Spider-man in his prime is stronger, faster, smarter than captain america. Doesn't matter if cap goes all out. Spider-man outclasses cap in nearly all ways
@@DatAsianGuy agree. even bucky was surprised with how pete caught the enhanced arm like it was nothing. and steve is having a hard time dealing with that arm too.
In my eyes, this is the second best soundtrack of the MCU, after The Avengers soundtrack. I personally would like to see Alan Silvestri, who wrote the Avengers soundtrack, and Henry Jackman, who wrote this soundtrack, to do the soundtrack for Cap 3
+Dawn of Justice Productions GotG score was something I'd expect from Brian Tyler, defiinitelly not Tyler Bates. Just another bland background music with one heroic theme popping out every 20 minutes. Disappointing to say the least.
Once you hit play, you're in for all 9:41 minutes of it. Can't not listen to the full track. I hope this theme or something similar returns in Avengers 4.
I could take an entire page listing in detailis the best parts, but one that I think is very subtle and just beautifully simple is the intermitent synth beeps that start at 8:12. It for me resonates the sad tragedy that is the shady world of technology and just modern evil that seeps through these new world, intangible threat. At least that makes sense in my head i dont know haha
My heart just lives for 5:29 and forward. It's just great. My heart will also die of disappointment if this Cap theme isn't reprised at any point in the next two Avengers films XD I'm serious though.
The part where they start locking onto targets and they put a hit on Tony Stark and the Stark Tower kinda caught me off guard. Put Hyrdra's absolute domindance in perspective for me personally.
Marvel studios, actors and the compooser can all feel proud for making this movie. What a movie, what a soundtrack!
The game changing movie within the MCU... the day the MCU grew up. What a fantastic movie the Winter Soldier is!
So good I went to see it again with my brother the 2nd time🔥🔥. Cheers to Henry Jackman

Heard this Masterpiece by accidence and literally it changed my semester and life and still
5:00 Best theme in MCU
The whole track is awesome but just after 4:26 is just INSANE and then right after 5:29 i lost sanity
Superb music, absolutely splendid. Elevating. My soul flies alongside angels.
In my eyes, this is the second best soundtrack of the MCU, after The Avengers soundtrack. I personally would like to see Alan Silvestri, who wrote the Avengers soundtrack, and Henry Jackman, who wrote this soundtrack, to do the soundtrack for Cap 3
Uh... Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack?
+Dawn of Justice Productions
Definitely not better than this.
+Dawn of Justice Productions
GotG score was something I'd expect from Brian Tyler, defiinitelly not Tyler Bates. Just another bland background music with one heroic theme popping out every 20 minutes. Disappointing to say the least.
This is Captain America 🇺🇸 true theme song for real
Serious candidate to best action cue of 2014!
When you try to win a war even before it starts, lot of innocent people die
still thinking that this is one of top OST songs ever
This is amazing.
Absolutely spectacular.
Once you hit play, you're in for all 9:41 minutes of it. Can't not listen to the full track. I hope this theme or something similar returns in Avengers 4.
I so wish this was in Civil War! would have made it that much more epic.
i love this song. they did such a great job with this
not a song
*Imagine this Theme playing in Avengers 4 when Captain America heroically sacrifices himself to save the Team*
Yo I will cry so bad.. Smh.. 😭
yoval keshet oh my god you absolutely know it! Hope you see this comment
It wasn't him, but it was just as painful...
This song makes me want to do something more awesome than listening to TH-cam...
I did uphill sprints yesterday while listening to this track. Yeah, this song can make you do s**t like that..
bitt555 i made a friend while sprinting past him shouting on your left
JAMES BARNES I use this song to running for losing weight... it makes me active so much!!!
Mechaelmoura Magneto On your left...
THE FASTEST GAMER ALIVE On my left. Got it.
Oh my god, this rising crescendo.
Love this song, makes me wanna take steroids and fight crime
Makes me wanna do 100 push up 100 sit up 100 squat and 10 km jog a day
2019, still in love with this.
4:58 perfect.
Henry Jackman is Marvel's Hans Zimmer
A LITTLE LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK
Absolutely AGREE! He is a beast
So is Tyler Bates. His GOG soundtracks are amazing as well
His civil war score was forgettable
He's not even close.
One of the best movie in mcu
The Best
My heart just lives for 5:29 and forward. It's just great. My heart will also die of disappointment if this Cap theme isn't reprised at any point in the next two Avengers films XD I'm serious though.
6:00 best feeling starts here.
7:32 amazing......
This track gets me pumped while running
On your left
with this music i can just see cap fighting Thanos with/without Mjolnir.. since HE CAN DO IT ALL DAY
Love the emotion in this track and action this will stay with me forever thank to everyone that made this happen
The part where they start locking onto targets and they put a hit on Tony Stark and the Stark Tower kinda caught me off guard. Put Hyrdra's absolute domindance in perspective for me personally.
