Got my Titan XD Pro-4X about 6 weeks ago for $10K off and 0% for 60 months. Love that it is a simple V-8 to 9 speed... no cylinders turning off and on, no turbos trying to make a V-6 a V-8; same engine for 20 years.
I hate to see it go I’ve owned a Frontier. I loved it a lot. I had 258,000 miles on it. Sold it for $3800.00. That’s been 10 years ago and as far as I know it’s still running good. It was a 1996 with a 3.0 V6 I loved that engine
Sad to see the Titan go. V8, really good looking (IMO), simple, reliable. What’s not to like! Brand loyalty is very often posh wording for stupidity. Brands are not your friends, they are businesses.
That’s very true. Most people didn’t even give the Titan a chance when I sold Chevys, most of the people didn’t even shop around with 1500s they were just so used to buying Silverado‘s
Brand loyalty and Nissan "practically" turning their back on the Titan, has led to its demise. As much as I hate to see em go.I'd rather see it die on its feet, instead of kneeling down and jumping on the bandwagon of TT V6's,stop&start,cylinder deactivation. Just a good ol smooth runnin Japanese American DOHC V8(Engine is built in Dechard,TN),with a 9 speed transmission with just about everything you'd need in a 1/2 ton truck usually at a cheaper price. All backed by a 5 year warranty.
Just sold my 05 Titan (original owner) and bought a new 2023 SV Titan. Sweet truck. Obviously liked my 1st one but wanted to upgrade before they're history. Glad I did... lots of goodies they didn’t have on 05. Quiet, comfy and fast... what's not to like? 20 mpg is a number my old one never saw.
Nissan Titan is a excellent truck trying to get my hands on one, in Canada. Forget about brand loyalty I'm more interested in good quality and reliability. I like the Nissan Titan.👍🇨🇦👍
I got my Titan Pro4X 3 weeks ago with $15K off. I had to pay $2495 for ceramic coating, but the truck was what I wanted and in an acceptable color. The main factor was it was the lowest trim package I could find within driving distance. I got it mainly for a great truck w/ V8 without all the bells and whistles. No cylinder deactivation, No Auto start/stop, manual parking brake. I am in Texas and the only the vented seat should be in all trims Without even trying, the wheels broke traction from a standstill going up my driveway. I love the power. It is a sad day. They stopped production last week. I wanted the Titan for 20 years. The end of production motivated me to buy now.
Nissan ended the truck because they cannot stay with the V8 if they kept the truck they would have to go with a smaller turbo charged engine or face hefty fines. Ram stayed with it a long time and just passed the fine cost over to the purchaser, but now the fines are a lot steeper and it is no longer profitable for them to stick with the V8 engine. Ford and GM will be retiring theirs in a couple years as well. By that time Toyota will have figured out its issues and have the V6 bullet proofed. Toyota is smarter than you think so by the time the rest of them have to go with smaller engines Toyota will be the one with the most reliable engine. Hell the V6 now they have had issues with has not been a bad engine and the failures are not from a defective design it is human errors like leaving metal shavings in the engine that killed them. I do not like it one bit, but as long as people keep voting Democrat expect it to get worse. You were wise getting the Nissan though. Only issues they had in the past were bad Cat converters that would destroy the engines, but they fixed them so it is not a problem the V8 has been rock solid. If I were buying a truck right now Nissan would be my choice. It is not that Nissan is not bowing down to the EPA they are passing the fines over to your purchase price. These fines are getting very stiff now they have zero choice, but to design engines to meet the EPA guidelines. Vote Red stop this nonsense!
I do wonder how much people actually do want a V8. Because as far as Toyota is concerned, they don’t offer a V8. Yet they’re up over 32% year to year on Tundra sales. Most Fords I see are the twin turbos. Only Chevy is where I see the most V8s here in Oklahoma.
The majority of truck buyers today will rarely haul anything in the bed, never tow, and never go off-road. Any knowledgeable truck buyer that does “truck stuff” wants a V8 because of the unknown of how well a turbo v6 will hold up to mileage. Gas mileage and tech is more important to most pavement princess owners than it is actual truck users.
@@jaywhite1850 Yeah, I totally on agree on what you just said. A majority of normal people with full size trucks never tow or haul. Towing wise, a V8 is preferable. I work in construction and our companies trucks are mostly Heavy Duty trucks.
Theres a recall of 100k Tundras and Lexus LX. So idk where you’re figuring your info at but their numbers are down this year by double digits. Ford Lightning and the Tesla truck sales figures are better than the Tundra if that’s something you’re into. Tacos are only 4 cylinders and their sale figures aren’t good at all like the Tundra. It’s hard to convince people to spend $10k more on a small truck than their competitors when they’re built with cheaper Mexican labor w smaller engine options. And NA motors are easier to work cause eventually things break.

Maybe the most underrated truck. You hit the nail on the head, saying brand loyalty.
I hate to see it go

Nissan Titan is the best truck out there now!

We are letting the climate cultists dictate our vehicles. I will not succumb. Sticking with my Endurance V8 and will rebuild it when it's tired.

@brolyx100
That is very true The tundra surprisingly is doing really good in sales this year
The Titan was a great truck. Sad to see it go.
