Another genius move is that there adding some modern weapons on the of map like the new grapple glove so that people who didn't play modern fortnite, can see what the game will offer after of ends.
And they actually put lore reasons for it as well since this season is about time travel and the way you obtain these modern items are through random rift encounters

Been playing since CH1 Season 5, and have never taken a season-long break. I'm continually impressed by Epic's ability to keep blowing people away, and I'm super glad you made this video! Fortnite is a lot of fun, and many OGs that quit don't know what the game has to offer now. Great video, btw!
As somewhat of an OG, this new season is frustrating. It feels like my childhood all over again since when I was younger my parents never let me play gun games, so every few months I would hang out at my friend's house to just play fortnite for about an hour and a half, every 1-3 months for just 1.5 hours... think about it....1 month of OG isn't enough for me and it hell doesn't feel the same. The game is still fun and after my parents became less strict I've been playing since then but now theres a gap of my OG brain with the sweaty 8 year olds who don't understand the significance and don't care for casuals like me
Next season could easily be one of the best seasons. Everyone is giving feedback on this season, mentioning what they miss and how things should be next time, and all epic has to do is listen -- which im sure they're doing, but knowing how they are they're most likely going to be dumb and go with their original plan for next season then put all the good stuff the season after
Well no, epic wont listen because they already had this planned out years ago. The whole point of this “fortnite og” season is for all eyes to be on fortnite because chapter 5 is going to be huge and epic games wants people to be watching. Cant wait to see all the crybaby people saying “just keep the og map” “epic never listens to us” “there they go ruining the game again” “im never playing again” just like they always do.
@@Dondon-wt5mw and we're seeing it... chapter 5 isn't bad, it's pretty good once you get into it. but now you see everyone complaining about how epic ruined their game, yet they still have an incredible amount of people playing because of how much fun they had during og fortnite.
@@taylorrenee2287 Chapter 5 is absolutely terrible wdym 💀. Weapons are ass and on top of that they are scarce... Bots everywhere. It's nearly impossible to get stable 140+ fps without any stutters. Map is too big with the intention of "ADVENTURE" instead of pure looting and fight. Oh yeah. 80 FOV sure does improve the experience even further 🤣🤣🤣🤣
As a new player, it’s just fresh, fun and honestly relaxing. When I’m tired of Valorant, or when my friends’ wills are finally broken by League, we can get on Fortnite and just kick back and boom boom pow and laugh the whole way.
The last time I played Fortnite was Winterfest Chapter 2, but recently my little brother wanted me to play Fortnite with him since the OG map is back, I hesitated at first but decided to try it out since I don't have anything to do and haven't played any games for a year straight due to work and burnout. I honestly don't regret it, Fortnite has sparked my interest in playing games again. Playing the OG map was fun, then I bought my first ever purchase in Fortnite which was the OG battlepass, right then and there was where I was invested in the game, I bought so much V-Bucks and was kinda addicted to it, of all the games I played, I've never really bought any virtual items in games before, but something about Fortnite just struck me. I fell in love with the game the more I play it. Playing the OG map, then experiencing my first ever live event for Chapter 5; it was so magical, it actually baffles me on how this game is even free in the first place. Then I get to see how the devs were always listening to the player base and that basically just sealed the deal. Fortnite is definitely the best game ever made in my eyes. I even convinced my friend who is a big Valorant fan to play "Child's game" (Fortnite) as what he would call it and made him fell in love with the game as well. He used to want me to play either Valorant or CS with him, but he's so addicted to Fortnite lately that we usually just play only 1 game of Valorant, then played Fortnite for hours. He even bought his first every skin which he rarely does since he only buys skins on games he loves. This means he's already invested in Fortnite and will probably make this his main game from now on.
The reason being that fortnite is really fun. Ive only been playing this game for two days and i can confirm that it is very fun especially with friends
It's times like these that I am proud to still ne a Fortnite fan. Out of all my old friends I was the only one who continued to play the game for 5 years, and seeing them come back and play the game again is amazing
Honestly, I love this game lol, back when fortnite was like the only thing people where talking about I didn't really play much (I was too much of a pussy) but I do remember occasionally trying it out and watching videos every once in a while. After that tho I didn't really see much of the game, I didn't care that much about it but I would see their stupid events and collabs be mentioned, BUT last year during summer break me and some friends didn't have anything to do so we just decided to try out fortnite lmao and it ended up being some of the most fun i've had playing a game in a WHILE, the game has so many stupid and fun items and features that it's just so hard to take it seriously but I think thats why the game can be just so fun. Zero build also helps with the enjoyment of the game, it makes it not as serious and not impossible to play if you end up encountering a sweat. Imo this game has been sorta underrated for a while, it's a good game but most people still think of it as a baby game for childeren and like yeah a lot of the player base are 9 year olds but that doesn't make it less fun.
the thing is fortnite isnt refusing to die it cant die pepole think that players droped after chapter 1 but in chapeter 4 season 4 it saw the most amount of players in its history not accounting for the og season
What an incredible journey this has been for me! It all kicked off back in primary school when I heard whispers about a new game called Fortnite circulating among my classmates. Fast forward to my birthday, and I unwrapped a shiny new PlayStation 4 Pro, diving headfirst into Fortnite during Chapter 1-Season 4. And let me tell you, I was hooked. Initially, it was all about the gameplay, but when the storyline entered the scene, my inner nerd surfaced, craving every intricate detail. The story was nothing short of epic. This fascination carried me through Chapter 1-Season 8, but Seasons 9 and X felt off, as if something was amiss with Fortnite. Not the storyline, but the game itself. It wasn't just the surplus of absurd additions; I was also transitioning from primary school to secondary school. I started socializing less with my old pals, forming connections with new friends who, it turned out, shared my passion for the game and were even more my type than my primary school buddies. Entering class with an old friend I hadn't seen since kindergarten and after-school care, we witnessed the conclusion of Chapter 1 together. Phew, a fresh start, Chapter 2-Season 1. It began promisingly but concluded disappointingly. The wait was interminable, and the additions were lackluster until one of my all-time favorite seasons graced us - Chapter 2-Season 2. I was fully immersed in the game again, playing incessantly with my newfound friends. The storyline maintained its epic allure throughout, despite some seasons being more enjoyable than others. Chapter 3-Season 1 was also a blast, but towards the end of Season 2, I had a falling out with the friend I mentioned earlier. As a result, not only did I spiral into my own depression, but Fortnite did too, at least in my eyes. The storyline was neglected, and we were subjected to what I deemed the worst live event ever. Throughout Chapter 4, I barely played three or four games. However, with the release of Creative 2.0 (always been a fan of Creative), I rekindled my interest in Season 4, playing extensively with other friends. Just in time for the OG vibes.
I had started playing in ‘17 so season 0? but was out by season 7-8 barely ever played it and didn’t enjoy the game at all anymore, but with the return to OG fortnite i’m hooked again. Never was a huge building guy so zero build and the plethora of new game modes from epic and the community has really brought my love for the game back, i feel like a kid again and not many games can still do that for me
As a fortnite fan who started playing in Chapter 1 Season 3, but only started truly getting into it around Season 5 and Season 6, I can agree with pretty much everything you said in this video. Epic keeps pushing for new highs and they've consistently managed to hit them, which is kind of incredible when you consider how mainstream fortnite is, you'd think they wouldn't break any of their own records, but no. They break their own records all the time! Excited for the future of fortnite, and happy to welcome any OGs back to the island. Cheers!
As a day 1 player, I had fun consistently up to season X, which kept dropping slowly. The biggest one was when season 5 dropped and they completely removed double pump. I managed to have fun after that by learning how to actually build and get good, but it wasn't the slow and tactical battle royale I was used to and excited me every match, it was instead the thrill of fighting others and getting good at the game rather than the expectations I used to have such as "what will this chest drop me?" "will that player spot me?" "where will the zone be next?". After playing competitively in Arena during season 9, I took a break in season X and I regret it because the battle pass was a banger. Then chapter 2 came and I liked the new UI in the beginning, it really was great. I played for the first 2 seasons and again competitively in season 4, sadly I didnt finish the marvel battle pass which had nice skins. But then I stopped until now. A thing I dislike is the sprinting and mantling, mobility items, mythic weapons, npcs and all those things. They make everything too clunky and fast paced which is not what a battle royale should be in my opinion. Matches need to take 25-30 minutes, they need to be slow-paced, with empty patches on the map where you just walk around carefully; or just drop Tilted, tough it out with others for a few minutes then spend the next 10 minutes walking and planning the end game. Now, I'm actually having fun. I still dislike the movement mechanics and the fact that there's ziplines and rifts everywhere; I get that people on Zero Build need access to high spots but even on Zero Build I would rather just use the grappler or the rift to go. So many movement items and mechanics completely destroy the most important aspect of a battle royale i.e. the Storm. You won't ever die to the storm anymore, you don't have to fear it, you can just outrun it now. Sprinting, vechicles and mobility items are too much in my opinion. Really it should just be 2 of them, not all three. Overall, I'm pretty much having fun right now, but it's not coming close to the old days.
This has gotta be one of the worst takes i’ve seen. If you wanna play like a bot and camp then go ahead, camp. But that whole “empty spots in the map where you can walk around carefully to plan end game” is just so stupid, the game doesn’t need to be slow paced. YOU can play slowly, you dont have to use mobility items. The game is fun when there’s plenty of things happening like mythics from collabs and stuff like that. Like i said, you wanna play like a bot and camp all game? Go ahead, but stop bitching about stuff that makes the game better.
@@Dondon-wt5mw That's really subjective, I don't think those make the game better, specifically because they take away from the essence of the battle royale genre. I'd just be putting myself at a disadvantage by playing slowly. It's fun dropping 15 kills every match in this season, but it doesn't compare to the excitement I used to feel back then. As I said, the tactical element of the battle royale is taken away and it becomes more of a straight up fast paced shooter action game like Call of Duty. If that's what's fun for you then that's cool and all, but not for me, I didn't get into Fortnite because of that and it's the same reason I dropped it. I just don't think fast-paced and battle royale work well in the same sentence.
@@spytonio to each their own i guess. Apex legends is another battle royale thats very fast paced and more convoluted with all its abilities and stuff and its extremely successful. Both fortnite and apex can both be fast AND slow paced, either way they’ll both be successful no matter what. But yeah, its all preference i guess
been playing since season 3, and with that i kinda grew my habilities with the comunity (building and overall mechanics), but around season X and chapter 2, it got really annoying with the skill gap i had with some sweats, and dropped it, tried to play iin the pandemic but didnt felt the hype i needed to grind back in the game, and epic now just did what it needed to show me that the game is still fire. I really hope OG map keep as a permanent gamemode or smt, but after just a week of playing with my friends i realized how this game actually is still good.
As someone who never stopped playing the game, I completely agree. I never got good at building, I refused to, but I still only play builds, and this season has made it fun again. From my experience, the game has dropped twice in popularity, ch2 s1 with its lack of updates, and halfway through ch3, where things got sloppy, only now I think the game is great again, and I can hope that they continue to ride off this hype, I’m happy to see the game succeeding again
one thing i hate about the gaming community is people shitting on others on what game they like to play, if its genshin, fortnite, roblox or even mobile games, i always hated it, when i saw your title i thought it was just another kid who wanted to ramble why fortnite was bad, and you didn't, respect
I started way back in October 2017 but quit by early chapter 2. I then came back at the start of chapter 3, and this og season has been the most fun I've had since chapter 3 season 1, nearly 2 years ago
I've been playing since ch1 season 5. I really didn't PLAY play until ch2 s2 when I bought my first battle pass (that season was amazing) and I haven't quit since. I've taken short breaks but it always manages to pull me back in.
Yeah as a more competitive fortnite player I full heartedly agree they didn’t capture the comp side fully or the casuals with sbmm and no syphon and stupid guns like the sticky gernade launcher and goo guns and explosive repeater riffles the list goes on it’s a tuff situation cause they wanna help both sides but manage to mess it up for both groups
They haven’t messed up for casual matches in years. Its always the competitive side of the player base thats complaining. A fun collab mythic gets added to the game? “Erm there goes epic again ruining the game” “erm its too op!!! Im quitting fortnite till it gets removed”, a fun mobility item gets added? Same shit, more complaining and calling the game trash.
I mean casual player would still prolly get annoyed as well getting exploded by ten god damn rpgs and the issue is is that there’s no way to escape those op items cause they are all in ranked I mean it’s gotten to the point where a casual can kill a pro not by outplaying him but just using bs tactics like sypher pk spamming the gernade launcher and pre firing bucke a well known pro
I love Fortnite a lot, I started in Ch1 S4 and left for a bit starting in Ch2 S3 The reason why I left was because I played so much, I initially didn't plan to leave for long but I was seriously burnt out due to being unable to really play anything else because my switch had issues at the time. Combined with Covid and getting depressed, I started trying to grow up and resented a lot of things I once loved and thought they were "cringe" because everyone else did or probably would as well. Then Ch2 S7 happened, I did update the game in Ch2 S5 but only got to the lobby and left which disappointed my brothers, (I wish I hadn't missed out on Kit and Mando). So much time had passed and I when I heard about the Impostors mode, it looked like lots of fun, so I updated the game and had such a great time with my younger brother, I've continued playing to this day since then. That day I finally played with my brother again was a really great time, while I've unfortunately missed a few things like the Collison Event, I have enjoyed this game so much, and I'm glad I came back, sure there's been ups and downs (and too many cruddy marvel collabs) the game is genuinely fun, and I've had a great time with my brothers and I even got my friends to come back in Ch3 S1! There's so much more I could say about my time spent in Fortnite (especially with my brothers lol) but I'll leave it off here. :D If you made it to the bottom, thank-you for reading my messy little ramble! I hope you may find some enjoyment in Fortnite just as much as I have!
After experiencing the fun of OG fort again and moving into chapter 5 which is a MASSIVE change, to watching this video. I think Epic has made Fortnite an established platform that appeals to a larger demographic than just competitive and casual players. For parents or non gamers to even know about Fortnite’s craze and view it as a relevant game is a phenomenon in gaming history. Minecraft had this title previously in my mind but Fortnite has taken over. I’ve played this game since 2017 and like many, I stopped during the early days of chapter 2 as I believed the games change wasn’t enough to bring back the fun. While still keeping up with the games updates and checking it out now and then, I was never consistent. I came back in OG chapter and the way the games mechanics, flow and fun factor felt, it trumped every other game I was playing. It was the vicious cycle of just playing only Fortnite all over again but this time, done a lot better. With chapter 5 being so different and new. I think this game won’t die for the simple fact that it knows when to switch things up, how to switch it up and what their vision moving forward must be in order to be ‘talk of the town’ all over again. It’s truly a well done gaming title for me
One of the best feelings is seeing one of your favorite games grow, fall off, evolve, and continously survive. With fortnite being the one gane to go through all those stages and come back even better. Atp one day this season will be seen as og csuse this game is finna last a long time.
what fortnite is so good at is possibilities, they could literally add anything to fortnite and it would work. and that means theres something for everyone
I think fortnite matchmaking is now more approximated to the current skill level due to many people playing. I rarely see sweats since og season started
i have never been a gamer but fortnite intruduced me to gaming. i started to fall in love with fortnite while seriously NEVER having played a game for longer than a day.
i started playing back in chapter 1 season 3 and stopped playing back in chapter 3 season 1, and I have returned for chapter 4 season 5 which is probably the most fun ive had on fortnite since chapter 1
Subbed, been playing since season 5, the storyline, and events has kept me comingbqck to the game, it's balanced, skill based for competitive modes, and for anyone who's not into that, battle Royale, and the 1000's of different game modes on creative is there to give everyone something to play, creat and have fun in, Chapter 5 is definitely my favorite yet so far, you made an awesome video! 😃
I been playing as a casual for 5 years, and I only keep playing cause story and cause I have friends playing still. Never quit as I had enough tricks up sleeves to beat those who build giant mansions in a second. Hiding and tricks will always win
i started playing in season 2 and stopped in season 2 chapter 2, the game is so much, i used to be an above average player i wasn't insane at building or anything but i used to hold my own, now that im rusty it's kinda fun relearning how to build with new settings new ways to build and retake high ground, i still do 90s even though ik they're not good lol
It's funny cause i dropped fortnite during Fortnite OG seasons And i restarted at the end of season X and got hooked by the lore and New chapters that were really fun for me. I like so much how the map evolved and all the new mechanics
Plus, Fortnite has Save the World which, while not free, has been reduced in price & released with Battle Royale skin bundles. Fortnite is one of those games that can appeal to most gamers if given a chance
I'll tell you the reason. It's always because epic is always sitting next to a stupid panic button on every time they lose their fan base they press that button. Not only that, the only reason why epic is this persistent is because they want to kill steam so they can control and dictate the market. It explains why UE5 is going to soon have a subscription.
I never got a chance to play it until Christmas 2019 (I was poor and used a ps3) and if you say “use you phone” I didn’t get one until my tenth year in Highschool so I’ll never know what it was truly like to play the game
Fornite is genuinely the only game I have fun playing, the prices for cosmetics are accesible , all different game modes, they actually listen to the community, it’s just the perfect game to release streess
i used to play it on my iphone in season 3, played till season 9 then left, came back again tho i didnt play the og map that was back but still its fun.
You predicted it. Chapter 5 season 1 was a little rocky with the movement, but due to everything else the new game modes new loot pool etc the game is doing better than it has been in a while (minus og Fortnite). People actually came back to the game and stayed
Smart decision. People who stupidly hates this Game without Context will click on this Video cause the Title insults Fortnite. And then you telled the truth. What this Game actually is. Hope this Video goes wild on TH-cam.
For me I've played Fortnite since late season 2 chapter 1, going on for season 3. The game is genuinely fun, Fortnite is a battle royale that just seems so different from the rest and that probably sounds like a stretch but listen, the cartoonish environment, the goofy emotes, the colourful skins and sound effects make the game seem like it can't be taken seriously, but once you really play it, you get an instant dopamine rush and want to play more because of the new content that is being pushed out, all I can say is... Epic Games are geniuses While some may say "Eww fortnite!" I was like that at one point, but now I realize just how big and fun of a game Fortnite is. This game isn't gonna die for a good while, I'd say give it till around the next decade, I'd be amazed to see if Fortnite still thrives by then. Sure we'll all be older by then, but seeing the younger generations play this game is what's gonna keep this game alive in the process because their experiences will turn into what they'll end up calling "OG Fortnite" compared to us.

The game is still fun and after my parents became less strict I've been playing since then but now theres a gap of my OG brain with the sweaty 8 year olds who don't understand the significance and don't care for casuals like me
Just broke another all time peak record today even after OG season
And now the lego, music and racing mode...
Zero build saved the game for me
Zero Build is less dynamic
bro this deserves WAY more attention
slowly but surely! Appreciate this
The reason being that fortnite is really fun. Ive only been playing this game for two days and i can confirm that it is very fun especially with friends
It's times like these that I am proud to still ne a Fortnite fan. Out of all my old friends I was the only one who continued to play the game for 5 years, and seeing them come back and play the game again is amazing
Great video! As an OG, I’m loving OG Fortnite too!
Content creators do so much of the heavy lifting, along with constant fresh updates.
I quit after chapter 1 due to me not enjoying modern fortnite, and og fortnite is a nice nostalgia trip
OG Fortnite is back if you didn’t know
@@munchy242 (lol
Imo this game has been sorta underrated for a while, it's a good game but most people still think of it as a baby game for childeren and like yeah a lot of the player base are 9 year olds but that doesn't make it less fun.
lol
fr
I only played it back then because my friends where playing it but I got bored of it and I haven't touched it in about a year
the thing is fortnite isnt refusing to die it cant die
pepole think that players droped after chapter 1 but in chapeter 4 season 4 it saw the most amount of players in its history not accounting for the og season
It was probably because of Fish Thicc tbh
@@LukeTheSchoolBoyFish thicc my beloved 😍
I'm not having fun with this OG season but I'm glad many people are enjoying it
This was actuallly an amazing video! Keep up more videos like this!
What a great video! You perfectly summarized the situation of the game and its state, while showing some of the best moents of it.
Cheers!
Speaking of chapter 1 season 3 i Started at chapter 1 season 3 as well
These people saying “fortnite is dead 💀” they must be the most blinded people ever
I really hope OG map keep as a permanent gamemode or smt, but after just a week of playing with my friends i realized how this game actually is still good.
this video was very well put together, good editing, good commentary, and good hook, you are going places.
Chapter 5 Season 1 is where I’m quitting for a bit
As someone who never stopped playing the game, I completely agree. I never got good at building, I refused to, but I still only play builds, and this season has made it fun again. From my experience, the game has dropped twice in popularity, ch2 s1 with its lack of updates, and halfway through ch3, where things got sloppy, only now I think the game is great again, and I can hope that they continue to ride off this hype, I’m happy to see the game succeeding again
You only play build mode when you never got good at building?
@@fish_R_stinky69 i never went into creative just to practice, I’m good enough to beat a sweat without building as much as them somehow
@@BrickFort_ I play zero builds so that I can practice my aim.

one thing i hate about the gaming community is people shitting on others on what game they like to play, if its genshin, fortnite, roblox or even mobile games, i always hated it, when i saw your title i thought it was just another kid who wanted to ramble why fortnite was bad, and you didn't, respect
I just realized this is the only game I’ll die and spectate and don’t mind spectating
I started way back in October 2017 but quit by early chapter 2. I then came back at the start of chapter 3, and this og season has been the most fun I've had since chapter 3 season 1, nearly 2 years ago
Mostly how most of us older players felt coming back time to time
Other than late chapter 2 and early chapter 3 (the peak of fortnite imo) it’s the most fun I’ve had playing fortnite.
@@LukeTheSchoolBoyyou’re crazy if you liked chapter 2 season 8, don’t reply to this

You really went into detail other than bullshitting the game thanks bro you deserve a sub! ❤
Its because every season is fun some are exponentially fun like Ch2 S2, 3,4 Ch3 S1,2,3
Exponentially?
I've been playing since ch1 season 5. I really didn't PLAY play until ch2 s2 when I bought my first battle pass (that season was amazing) and I haven't quit since. I've taken short breaks but it always manages to pull me back in.
i just discovered your channel and im glad i did! subscribed!
I mean casual player would still prolly get annoyed as well getting exploded by ten god damn rpgs and the issue is is that there’s no way to escape those op items cause they are all in ranked I mean it’s gotten to the point where a casual can kill a pro not by outplaying him but just using bs tactics like sypher pk spamming the gernade launcher and pre firing bucke a well known pro
as a old and new fortnite player i still find this insane since its been very quiet over the past 2 years but was still doing t his
I love Fortnite a lot, I started in Ch1 S4 and left for a bit starting in Ch2 S3
The reason why I left was because I played so much, I initially didn't plan to leave for long but I was seriously burnt out due to being unable to really play anything else because my switch had issues at the time.
If you made it to the bottom, thank-you for reading my messy little ramble!
I hang on during the worst times of Fortnite regardless I'll still play the game even in it's darkest hour
even.. primal?
This video perfectly describes and captures what happened with Fortnite. Very well said
Just like Doc once said: "Fortnite is Forever"
we will look back on this game in 10-20 years and be blown away with how big it was
what fortnite is so good at is possibilities, they could literally add anything to fortnite and it would work. and that means theres something for everyone
fantastic video, really good work !
They keep things fresh and continue to add content the same way minecraft, terraria and roblox does.

Not going to lie, Lego Fortnite is absolutely epic. I can’t stop!
Chapter 5 ZB is fire too.
The fact that it’s a free game is unreal to me.
It additionally most likely intrigues players that didn't have the chance of playing in the og seasons
Well,it means that its NOT a stupid game
6 years ago i was 9 loving fortnite and now 6 years later im a fighter time has flew ahah

It's funny cause i dropped fortnite during Fortnite OG seasons
And i restarted at the end of season X and got hooked by the lore and New chapters that were really fun for me.
I like so much how the map evolved and all the new mechanics
Plus, Fortnite has Save the World which, while not free, has been reduced in price & released with Battle Royale skin bundles. Fortnite is one of those games that can appeal to most gamers if given a chance
honestly ever since the og map returned ive started enjoying this game alot more
I feel like fortnite has joined the undying train with minecraft and roblox and other games.

Ive been playing since sesson 8 and i do have to say that fortnite OG is the perfect mix of OG and modern fortnite
TF2 in 2023 with no major update since 2017 be like:

Epic Games are geniuses
While some may say "Eww fortnite!" I was like that at one point, but now I realize just how big and fun of a game Fortnite is.
I think sypherpk also said it may be a stunt to get all eyes on the game to make hugeeeee changes for the upcoming chapter after the og goes away
