I think the introduction of duos and no siphon is a big reason to why there arent many up and coming controller players. Many great controller players of today started out as fraggers and in a trio its easier to have a designated role.
I never hit anything on Fortnite competitive but i love when siphon was in the game i would push people and get rewarded now pushing people isn't really worth until you have to
nah the main reason is the fact that to be the best you possibly can be is u need to play claw or paddles (cost a decent amount of money) not to mention the fact that aim assist is not even that good rn. they need to buff aim assist at least a little because kbm will always have better aim than us no matter what
I would never play with a keyboard and mouse. A 3D environment game was designed with analogue in mind. Pressing the button forward to move breaks this space. I'm all about immersion rather than winning a game. Have fun.
Also let's not forget during fortnite release controller players was also stuck with holding down on their edit button which also gave them a huge disadvantage against keyboard and mouse players. That was until they added custom controls in chapter 1 season 6 where controller players were able to customize their edit bind to whatever they wanted it to be

I played 15 years on console from 2003 to 2018 and have been on pc since and I will say controller players definitely need aim assist doesn’t matter what game it is. Aiming with your thumb vs your whole arm are two completely different feelings. I never complain when getting killed by a controller player

I have two friends who I play with, both are playing on controller, however, one of them is playing on PC but yet still playing on controller the odd thing about this is he turns OFF his aim assist while still being on controller (apparently) for whatever reason. Whenever we hit a 1v1v1 in box fights/zone wars, our friend who is on PC sometimes gets mad or I should say, more so embarrassed when my other friend dominates us both sometimes and says things like "turn off your aim assist" lol. My other friend will be like dude there's a reason why PC players are the best and basically talking about how much easier it is for PC players to aim, given this 'thumb vs your whole arm' argument.
Maybe a good way to help controller players a bit without buffing aim assit is to let us choose different imput curves for building, ads and non-ads sens. Since expo is better for ads, tracking and long range taps, linear is way better for building/editing, and both can be used for non-ads (linear might be better tho), being able to have expo ads and linear for non-ads and building/editing could be really helpful for lots of controller players.

I've tried it already a lot of times and its not the same, as the boost only adds speed when you move your right stick near its limit, which means it only adds speed to your sens when its reaching its max (it doesnt affect the 0-90% of the stick path, it increases your sens past that 90%) so it doesnt allow you to make those microajustements while aiming that expo do and have that very slow movements at first that start ramping up like an e^-x math function the more you move your stick.There is a reason why a lot of pros think expo is way better for ads tracking but still use linear and don't use boosts. It's just very inconsistent, and not near as smooth and predecible as expo(Sorry if i didn't explain it well, I'm Spanish)
Yea I was surprised when I went to other games as Fortnite is my main shooter and other games I just use kbm and I heard alot about aim assist in apex and I was blown away by the sheer amount of tug and legitimately rotating your camera for you. In apex you can let go of the stick and just walk back and fourth and it will track a still enimie for you.

I honestly prefer it off so you don’t get random pulls to the middle of mountains and shit sometimes when scoping in. Shit literally bugs and acts like aim bot when no one is around and doesn’t help enough when somebody is there to make it worth it
I started on controller playing on pc because that's how I like to play fps but with this game, it's too hard to switch weapons back and forth so now I use a hybrid, half controller and aim with the mouse. I find that movement using the joystick is way easier on keyboard and I can select weapons on my mouse using the extra buttons.
I mean, in my experience when I played in control the people of KBM cried a lot for the help in the aim of control, but suddenly with control I gave shots of 38 when I hit directly, over the years I switched to Pc and kbm and no matter how bad my shot is I always hit 100+ and it is much easier to track with AR without aiming, so I don't know what they really complained about, maybe it was just frustration because someone with control and limited keys beat someone with all the advantage of his side and still lost.

I use my controller on the PS5 and have no aim assist. I have no issues playing at all, except for trying to build faster. What I have seen is there are far more cheaters using PC.

Play on PC long enough and you'll understand how Controller is the easiest cheat code ever. If you understand how a controller works and learn to master it then you can go pro with just a controller.
Just need more customisations in the controller settings. More curve... also maybe 1 button reset (like scroolwhell reset). Also 1 thing is edit on release need an option to "pause" the edit for do perfect peak with edit on release.
They should turn of cross-play to fix this issue. Although when you are playing in a tournament such as the FNCS cross-play would turn on. It would also turn on if you’re playing with a different console than you.
I was playing on controller from all of chapter 1 season 4 to chapter 4 season 1 and then I started playing KBM when I got a PC and it feels so much better
Only if epic would stop trying to nerf controller when it’s not needed, it was nerfed enough back in chapter 2. You can’t even navigate the inventory quickly anymore.
I hope aim assist don’t become op again in main modes, but it would be fun if they made it like a game mode, or it could be added a device in creative to have the old aim assist .

Now would be a good time for someone to make gyro-aiming popular. Gyro-Aiming is the closest thing to a mouse and you can do quite a few things with that method. Giving a similar advantage to those who play with Mouse and keyboard.
@@ovalfps Yep, you can play that way with the comfort of the sofa. Apart from that, console players have no way to install a mouse and keyboard, because the most ideal way to play it is on a desktop. The gyroscope removes that limitation.
Yes yes, everyone knows that. The problem with this is where you are going to put your keyboard mouse on a surface. Give yourself an example: your console is in your living room, and you have your console meters in front of your sofa. That's where the limitation of several people comes in. There you can use it for the option that I had mentioned without needing as many resources as a table and a monitor. Obviously in the case of those who play on console.

@@VecPancake the fps is an entire disadvantage as a whole, I literally got noticeably better almost instantly just from moving to ps5 from ps4 and arm it can only run 60fps due to my tv not running 120, so I actually got better just from being able to a stable 60 fps instead of 30-40 and the occasional 60. Also fps plays a major role in Fortnite fights, that and ping
I always find controllers "inefficent" in fortnite, why spending 300-400 dollars for a scuf, with hall effect sticks, mouse click triggers, 8 backbuttons and a back scroll wheel, just to get smoked by an average kbm player, just spend a couple hundred dollars on a good kbm setup and play on that, ofc if you're from console it's a whole dufferent story.
Gyro helps with ADS a great deal and nobody seems to be talking about it. I mainly play KBM with the occasional DualSense. I hove o lover end graphics card so I have to turn settings down but KBM on console is nice because then you get fidelity, stability, and precision all at the same time.

I started playing fortnite on mobile than I got a ps4. I could never get good until I got a PC. I played way better now. I'm back on mobile because my PC died the aim assistant is crazy

They should just make better settings on controller ( like the ability to have linear builds and expo aim , adding a scoped sensitivity, adding an actual build and edit sense instead of it just multiplying and being based on your normal sense , ect. Controllers will never be as good as KBM for one major reason. Pure mechanics, the thumb is not as fast, nor accurate, nor in control, with the extensor flexor muscles of the forearms. The other reasons are consumer grade joystick is not as accurate as lasers, which mice rely on. Optical switches, the best keyboard buttons, are also far superior to clunky spring loaded controller buttons. Pixel control, which is what skill is measured in, is far smaller in a joystick than a mouse. Aim assist is literally a cheat. Epic loves you controller players. Because people like me with over 10,000 hours in CS despise you hackers with soft aim and aim assist and it requires 1% of the effort time and stress we had to put in. Epic loves you so much that they don't allow us PC players to queue alone and not bother with your hacks. I mean I plug a controller in and just beam people effortlessly. It's disgusting. I will never respect any champion with a controller and just view it as lowering the skill ceiling to appease some low skill low intellect whiners. If Epic didn't love controller players they would allow PC players to play with themselves. Watch how many pros wouldn't want to play with them. Imagine a game like CS:GO back then have controller players "dominating" while crying they can't perform because of aim assist not working due to a scope or jetpack or whatever. It's a cheat, if you want to play competitive, turn off aim assist. And play with other controller players. As a professional in any realm, I don't want to deal with people that never achieved their mechanical skill.
Even in zero build, pc controlles have such an advantage in sniping and close range combat because of the sensitivity mechanics on mouse vs kbm, only thing ps players have an edge in is mid range ar fighting

I play controller on PC, I tested out the advanced settings with Aim Assist strength on both 100% and 0%. There's LITERALLY NO DIFFERENCE, aim assist is pretty much inexistent from what I've experienced
Kbm isn't good 1. They have flick. (Controller cannot flick aim or flick build) Disadvantage 2. Kbm has the advantage now Just like controller did now kbm does. 3. Ppl only play kbm because of the advantages not because of skill.

you are delusionnal , AA in 2020 was too strong because pc players even with a god tier aim couldn't win due mainly to the blum factor.

Play on PC long enough and you'll understand how Controller is the easiest cheat code ever. If you understand how a controller works and learn to master it then you can go pro with just a controller.

They should turn of cross-play to fix this issue. Although when you are playing in a tournament such as the FNCS cross-play would turn on. It would also turn on if you’re playing with a different console than you.
I was playing on controller from all of chapter 1 season 4 to chapter 4 season 1 and then I started playing KBM when I got a PC and it feels so much better

Gyro-Aiming is the closest thing to a mouse and you can do quite a few things with that method. Giving a similar advantage to those who play with Mouse and keyboard.

@@ovalfps Yep, you can play that way with the comfort of the sofa. Apart from that, console players have no way to install a mouse and keyboard, because the most ideal way to play it is on a desktop. The gyroscope removes that limitation.

Yes yes, everyone knows that. The problem with this is where you are going to put your keyboard mouse on a surface. Give yourself an example: your console is in your living room, and you have your console meters in front of your sofa. That's where the limitation of several people comes in. There you can use it for the option that I had mentioned without needing as many resources as a table and a monitor. Obviously in the case of those who play on console.

@@VecPancake the fps is an entire disadvantage as a whole, I literally got noticeably better almost instantly just from moving to ps5 from ps4 and arm it can only run 60fps due to my tv not running 120, so I actually got better just from being able to a stable 60 fps instead of 30-40 and the occasional 60.
Also fps plays a major role in Fortnite fights, that and ping
I always find controllers "inefficent" in fortnite, why spending 300-400 dollars for a scuf, with hall effect sticks, mouse click triggers, 8 backbuttons and a back scroll wheel, just to get smoked by an average kbm player, just spend a couple hundred dollars on a good kbm setup and play on that, ofc if you're from console it's a whole dufferent story.

Gyro helps with ADS a great deal and nobody seems to be talking about it. I mainly play KBM with the occasional DualSense. I hove o lover end graphics card so I have to turn settings down but KBM on console is nice because then you get fidelity, stability, and precision all at the same time.
I tried playing Fort two days ago since years and controller doesn't have enough buttons unless you use 3-4 paddles.. Sad

They should just make better settings on controller ( like the ability to have linear builds and expo aim , adding a scoped sensitivity, adding an actual build and edit sense instead of it just multiplying and being based on your normal sense , ect. Those things would help out controller at least a decent amount.

Controllers will never be as good as KBM for one major reason. Pure mechanics, the thumb is not as fast, nor accurate, nor in control, with the extensor flexor muscles of the forearms. The other reasons are consumer grade joystick is not as accurate as lasers, which mice rely on. Optical switches, the best keyboard buttons, are also far superior to clunky spring loaded controller buttons. Pixel control, which is what skill is measured in, is far smaller in a joystick than a mouse. Aim assist is literally a cheat. Epic loves you controller players. Because people like me with over 10,000 hours in CS despise you hackers with soft aim and aim assist and it requires 1% of the effort time and stress we had to put in. Epic loves you so much that they don't allow us PC players to queue alone and not bother with your hacks. I mean I plug a controller in and just beam people effortlessly. It's disgusting. I will never respect any champion with a controller and just view it as lowering the skill ceiling to appease some low skill low intellect whiners. If Epic didn't love controller players they would allow PC players to play with themselves. Watch how many pros wouldn't want to play with them. Imagine a game like CS:GO back then have controller players "dominating" while crying they can't perform because of aim assist not working due to a scope or jetpack or whatever. It's a cheat, if you want to play competitive, turn off aim assist. And play with other controller players. As a professional in any realm, I don't want to deal with people that never achieved their mechanical skill.

Even in zero build, pc controlles have such an advantage in sniping and close range combat because of the sensitivity mechanics on mouse vs kbm, only thing ps players have an edge in is mid range ar fighting

All Fortnite needs to do for controller is add different edit styles and edit it from a single button for controllers like controller players should be able to do pe it butter edits with just the press of a button then it’ll maybe keep up with pc that way they can line their shots
For controller it’s impossible to play because aim assist is so bad so you are just slower and now worse at aiming
I play controller on PC, I tested out the advanced settings with Aim Assist strength on both 100% and 0%. There's LITERALLY NO DIFFERENCE, aim assist is pretty much inexistent from what I've experienced
