- So you got Ferdinand vs Hubert, Dorothea vs Ferdinand, Caspar vs Linhardt. I was thinking Bernadetta and Petra but I guess not. So I tried Shamir and it worked.

The English VAs really killed it in all the dialogue in this game. Damn fine work from all of them.
Ingrid and mercedes have some of the worst voice work i have ever heard. Some are good but some are absolute garbage
@@ahvin4764 I'd blame Mercedes on the voice direction, not the actress. She was great as Rinea in Echoes. But yeah, Ingrid and Ladislava sound forced (the latter especially), and so does Sylvain sometimes. Have yet to notice anyone else. Emotional lines and scenes are the difference between a good VA and a great one.
@@sandrac.8604 The lines I dislike the most are the ones where they are speaking to large crowds. Like when Edelgard addresses her army after a battle. It just sounds like normal talking, like they're rehearsing the lines in a mirror and don't want to talk too loudly in fear of disturbing someone. It just makes me uncomfortable.
@@derekstapleton3396 I can totally see how the crowd talks ended up a bit too one-on-one sounding with how most the VA's have mentioned the lines are recorded pretty much alone in a room with at best a director/sound management or something.
Minor mishap on the these parts but otherwise pretty solid voice direction through other parts of the game which I really took a liking to.

@Jake Ling Lol. I one shot her in Golden Deer, there was no other way (She has a door key, shes's blocking the door and I can't risk anything in a map with many monsters around) and since it was the first turn, she couldn't trigger her alert stand ability.

It's quite suprising to see Shamir hesitate to kill anyone. She doesn't even do that Vs Catherine or Alois.
Well Petra's a child.
It might originate from the fact that they're both outsiders in Fodland. And, of course, the fact that Petra originally was a political hostage when she first arrived there.

Umm... Brigid is an fe4 character who is also in fe5 under a new name.
Brigid and Dagda are both fitting for the name of these countries because they are both ex pirates/brigands.
Brigid once she before she learned that she was the eldest daughter and had major holy blood was a pirate who took over her crew when her "father" (kidnapper) took her in and raised her as his own daughter.
Dagda is similar, he was the leader of a group of mountain bandits, before decideding to instead protect villages and do honest work with his gang of mountain bandits.... which fucked him over somewhat considering said group of mountain bandits turned on him due to the much lower income of not stealing and pillaging..

Her evasion was so high, she dodged all of your recruitment attempts.

@jack smith petra is just that character of extremes. 0% hit against her, while she herself gets 100% crit regularly...
This video shows a great solution: Atrocity. The answer is always "Use Dimitri". Although I personally spared her in this map. While I took long enough that she started moving (and almost reached my army), I killed Hubert before I had to kill her.
Swordbreaker helps alot same with Ignatz's personal hit +20 skill if you decide to use him
Her high natural speed, Alert Stance & Sword Avoid +20 is insane. I'm using that setup in my Golden Deer playthrough alongside Axebreaker & my Petra is almost untouchable

the funny thing is it's quite opposite if you see her supports she becomes quite good friends with most of the black eagles and she only turns against them if get her before part two in the end she wants help her friends and homeland it's also why I call Crimson flower the screw the crests and church we have the power of friendship
When Death its literally right around the corner
Amidst all the generals hesitant and regretful to fight and doubtful on their allegiances, seeing Petra so unflinchingly defend her allies and cause makes killing her particularly heartbreaking. Her passionate defence of Edelgard in the Throne Room during the GD path even more so than here.
I never kill Petra I always recruit her

Ah Dimitri, don't matter what Petra does. He's simply unstoppable, his gambit bodied her for me during the Gronder field battle and he tanked he attacks in this map for me too.

I always recruit Petra so I've never had to face her. I'll save her from Edelgard's grasp every time!
One has to wonder what Edelgard did to convince her to fight for her nation's greatest enemy.
Aside from all the friends she's made in The Empire, it's an opportunity to secure a great deal of political power for Brigid. She loves both of her homes, and wants them to be on equal footing. It's a goal worthy of respect.
Such great VA for dialogue most will never hear.
Shamir: you're a hostage of the empire!
Petra: that was true in the past, but not anymore.

Bit disappointed Ferdinand didn't have dialogue with her, or any of the Eagles save for Hubert. I kind of saw him as the Felix of the Black Eagles, since it makes a fair bit of sense for Ferdinand to turn on Edelgard considering she basically destroyed the guy's future.

Ferdinand becomes the next head of Aegir during the time skip and Prime Minister at the end, doesn't he?
I think Ferdinand's case is a bit complicated honestly. Edelgard put Aegir under arrest and took away his land but Ferdinand always agreed that his father needed to face punishment. While he still felt bad for him he also saw him as corrupt and greedy. He even wanted to do it himself.
Plus, he always saw himself as the person to guide the new Emperor whether he agrees with her or not and going against her would still mean betraying the country he used to be so dedicated, to. I can see him leave, but I always figured that making him so hard ro recruit on your playthrough was on purpose
@@extrahachse3118 Ferdinand's B support with Marianne mentions that he lost his wealth, status, and lands, so it didn't seem like he was doing well, even as the head of House Aegir. I just felt the fact that he was the only Black Eagle to get screwed over post-timeskip and his one-sided rivalry with Edelgard made him a good candidate to defect to Faerghus or the Alliance
@@youraverageinternetperson4323 Well, I did mention that he lost his land and stuff, but I honestly put that on his father. While it sucks for Ferdinand, too, I don't think most of his wealth was even acquired fairly to begin with.
But yeah, you can make a case for Ferdinand leaving considering what happens. Though I'd argue he leaves because he disagrees with Edelgard if anything. Leaving because he lost his wealth makes him sound kinda selfish if you ask me

I don't really think any of Aegir's actions were okay in-universe tbh. Corruption is part of Ardestian politics, but that doesn't make it alright. The Dude getting killed by people of lands he previously owned kinda tells me that they would agree.
In the end that wouldn't really change that losing his land was an appropriate consequence with him being a threat to the Empire. If he aquired his lands because of overthrowing the previous Emperor, having the current one take it back seems fair to me.
Poor Petra.
First she was kidnapped, then brainwashed into being loyal to her nation's greatest enemy.
It's like what happened to Corrin all over again,

She's no more brainwashed than someone like Camus or Ishtar. It's just a clash of ideals and circumstance, with her being on the opposite side.

@@kellyjohana516 By all appearances, Petra is effectively indoctrinated into becoming a puppet for Edelgard's regime. She was kidnapped as a child, taught about the glory of Adrestia, emotionally manipulated to support Edelgard's ambitions, even if it meant Brigid remained in vassalage, and then she outright declare herself to be a manifestation of Imperial Will. That suggests brainwashing.

They are transparent that she is still a hostage and she is fully aware of her situation but she ultimately chooses to respect Edelgard and follow her.
@@HappyPotat Subjective to which role she plays. A lot of these characters can be recruited to different routes. However, some characters can be argued, in a friendly debate, to be more suited to certain routes. I could definitely see Petra side with GD or BL solely based on the past history with the Empire. Its a gamble for her for sure but from what I gathered her loyalty is to her homeland, and it seems to me that this war Edalgard started could easily trigger Petra's bad sentiments with the Empire, giving her the chance to gain her country's independence from the Empire. This is just my interpretation of how I see Petra in her situation.

Weird that she wouldn't, they're each other's only unique lunch dialogue and one of their few group task dialogues

After Awakening and fates I thought I’d never care about character deaths ever again but this voice acting and the fact that the characters actually have reasons to exist just make 3H so much better

My first playthough was the black eagles. Seeing Petra die was rough.. Cause I'm on my second play through and I recuirted her instantly.

I dislike Petra because she is a coward in Gronder Field leave other students die and block Edelgard. It's very logical to kill her. The route who I like Petra is Silver Snow.
