@@mariogonzalez673 my buddy is a welder and he told me that it was better to heat up the welding rods before using them for a better weld so they would use the pit
Back on the 60s and 70s rood ovens they were not affordable and portable so welders have to find a way to keep the roods dry on east coast humid weather
Nice..built my first bbq pit in 9th grade welding class, and a go kart..didnt think after i finished school id make welding into a career, 17 years manufacturing battery tanks, water seperators, heater treaters for the oil field all code weld, full pen x ray..few years in structural Bridge welding for the state of texas, beams and girders, proud 2 say my welding identification # is stamped on the beams for the foundation of the LA RAMS stadium when i worked for heirshfeld steel out in w.texas, also had the contract for many google facilities and so on..got 2 work on some cool projects..🤙great quality on the pit
I watched this from start to finish and I love the simplicity and durability. I love its functional, even as you are cruising a lease/pipe line to work
They generally small because it’s made just for you, when I was in the oil field every welder with a rig had his own Q. It was normal for us to back up in a circle and we all would cook something different.
I'm going to tell you all right now that SCI didn't have this equipment when i was there ... Even though our instructor was badass and showed us as much as he could, we still lacked plenty of tools. We just had the bare minimum and we had to work with what we had... So I'm very jealous of that ... But great job
Dude that came out so sweet, looks like it took a long time and alot of different work, you'd have to sell that thing for $1,000.00 to get your money back out of it lol.
This pit was not made for sale I especially designed it for weldtube loyal followers for loyal weldtube followers is priceless And for all those people who take pride of the work they do 💪💪💪
Hey there Mr. Sarabia, that sure looks like a heck of a lot of work involved in the construction of this grill. How much $$$ do you sell a smoker grill for?
Nice but in order to get the grill out u need to remove all 🥩 of the grill to pull it out insted u should of make it wider so u can pull it off with the meat on the grill to move the charcoal without taking meat off
No information on the materials used to build the cart or the mount - how about making a projects page with some layout drawings and a materials list for the project builds like Lincoln Electric does. Lincoln Electric has at least 5 Welding Project Books that I actually have a copy of.
Looks good to thick of pipe in my opinion too heavy to lug around 1/8" would of been just as bullet proof looks awesome lotbof work would sell it for 1200.00 dollars 35 years of exp. As a structural welder and fabricator

When i was a kid in the '70's every welder in my little East Texas oilfield town had a bbq grill welded on their flatbed truck !
That was so they could heat up the welding rods not really to grill on, but some would grill on them
@@jamor2549 why would they need it for rods

half inch steel!! damn thats a beast! probably holds temp forever
Welding is visually pleasing😍 I’m currently in school for welding & it’s therapeutic. For one of my projects I wanna make a grill🔥
Very informative video. This guy is a damn machine!

Wow!! I got on her to see about making my own pit but after watching this and seeing how much work it is I'm gonna buy one.. 😄🤣🤣🤣 sick job btw!! 😎🤙

Sir, your cutting torch skills are out of this world 🙌
Beautiful work, wish I had that skill. Cool!
Anybody can do it
requires time and a little patience
This is insane!! 👍🏻
All that work. And the cooking grate warps the first use.
I know right with that .375 wall pipe that thing will never cool down. Lol
I am making one out of 13.5 OD pipe tomorrow, I prefer 16" but friend wants a small grill. Nice build for sure.
Whats does 13.5 OD mean? If you had to guess; what’s the thickness of this pipe in the video? I’ve been welding 16 years.
Awesome like the fact you used all types of welding skills from mig to tig to stick not to mention torch cutting cherry stuff yessah!
Yes I did to show you all you can do it
with any of thes process that I use
I was lucky to have the multi-process welding machine to do demonstration
@@goldeneagle_wld245 awesome right on bro stay safe keep the peace in all nationality aloha
Honestly, I think I would have made it a bit wider to cook more foods but overall, pretty neat.

How big is the pipe

What size bar stock was used around the lid here?
1 inch -1\4 carbon steel
how long is the pup ? 16" by ?
Do you have any blueprints for this
