Hey Troy, this is looking like a thing of beauty already. The sump fits so well, great job measuring and designing. I love Joey and Tamara, he is always building. Rambo is such an amazing co-star all the time. I am so excited for the future of this tank build, I keep wondering if there will be a big ass window? That would be so sweet. No matter, keep up the fabulous work and I'll be watching. Love from Ontario.
Yes I love this!!! I have just finished all my research and making plans to build one myself but it will be in my living room. So definitely going to reinforce my floor first... I can't wait to see your finished build. I know it's going to be awesome!
Hi, looks good for your first build, I noticed some of your screws haven't counter sunk. Use two drills, one with a smaller wooden drill bit to pilot your holes for your wood screws, then another hi impact screw gun to drive them in under the surface of the wood. It's not a criticism. it will make it easier with so many screws. Also using a pilot holes will stop your wood splitting when driving your screws in. You're always so tidy with your presentation. Your tanks look awesome
I’m super excited for this project Bro. As a novice hobbyist, you just don’t understand how much your guidance builds my confidence as I journey on wonderful hobby, THANK YOU! ❤
Love the new project, I just recently got into the hobby last November and I already have a 180 gallon tank 😅 love the channel and can’t wait to see more
10:00 I wondered what the cord was at first coming from your head, maybe a mic/ear piece cord, then realized oh, it's the light switch string! lol. Great start to this! I really like how this is looking so far! Nice size stand and tank! Looking forward to future videos!
Awesome project! can't wait to see the end result. I'm in the process of building 2 stands for my 75's I have never liked how low fish tank stands are. I'm going to build mine 44" high. Keep up the great content. Thanks for bringing us on this journey.
This looks dope. Looking forward to the progress. Quick question: how many fish are in your 150? Trying to decide how many I want to put in my 125. General American cichlid combos.
I'm thinking about building a plywood aquarium as well but just wanted to know what's the best way to heat it up? If I do it's going to be a 16 foot build
Hey bro love the video, Im starting an African tank and I need your help. How does 2 Calvus cichlids, 2 Julies, 1 Leopard bush fish, 1 bristle nose pleco, and 1 petricola catfish sound for a 40G Breeder tank.
Troy, Awesome tank build i am going to have to look it up and can you tell us the cost after it is finished. I also would keep in your mind that electrical box and water. Fish splash and you don't want water to hit the panel and cause a fire or shortage. That should be considered before being moved next to it. I can't wait to see this process get finished. I am curious on how do you see the fish with plywood..
let me suggest that where your stand legs are screwed into the base board use a 90 degree angle bracket to assure it will not crack or hold......when you screw in on a 45 degree like you did there's a chance it could snap. I would run 90 degree brackets bottom and top of where the supports meet the base and top, it will add so much strength to the structure.
How was the length selected? One might have thought that increasing the length would add only a small increase in the final cost. Be sure to get those brothers over to help.
I applaud you and like the channel but see a potential issue you might encounter in a couple years in that your vertical support is not underneath the the upper frame. In time, weight will sag to the vertical supports and put the frame downward, screws and all. Then the tank would be only supported on a few points, multiplying the force and possibly collapsing the whole tank. Sorry to be a downer. I do woodworking as an advanced hobbyist so I may be wrong but when I mess with any tank over 200 gallons, I am getting steel frames and just building the cabinets around it.
@@CichlidBros yes, brilliant shout outs to Joey and Jeremy. It's looking absolutely fantastic so far - hope you're feeling strong enough to move back into that corner! Keep up the great work
wow awesome project i cant wait to see the finished product
So stoked for this and you man!!! Can't wait to see it come along!
Thanks, Reid!!
Can not wait to see what fish you put in the new tank. 🎉🎉🎉
Holy crap sir! Will defo be following this! Fingers crossed for you 😂
So excited for this!
Wow, this is quite a project! I can’t wait to see the next installment.

Nice project...have fun!
Thanks, will do!

Am really looking forward to the aquarium build instalments 👌
Can’t wait to show updates!
Good Job 👏🏼
Thanks!
Wow that's awesome looking and beautiful aquarium stand. Great job my friend.

@@CichlidBros Thank you 😊
I knew you’ve been watching aquarium domain the second I saw the bottom of the stand lol, it looks just like the double-diy project!
Haha yep, as mentioned his videos were a primary influence on the build
@@CichlidBros I have so many CAD drawings with aquariums based on his builds haha, someday when I have space…
Very nice work bro 👍
Please my support 🙏🙏
430 Gallon aquarium 😮...Bro that's a whole new level...All the best in the making👍 🙌 ❤
You should look at a freshwater ray. Also I have a 12 inch flagtail I’d love to give you guys
You might just be on to something there… 🤫 lol
Wow this is going to be great, can’t wait to follow the progress!
Hope you enjoy it!
I don't know if I am more excited for this content or the SW cube build... that Bob Ross cut was golden! 😂

I built my own stand with leftover lumber from my garage and I’m really happy that I did. I can’t wait to see how you sheath it in the plywood.
Excited and inspired to see how this turns out. Can’t wait to see the journey and final product
I’m excited for this build 🤩
Keep up the good work!!! looks pretty well built so far! I think you'll do just fine on the tank build!!!

WOW 🤩Tremendous Project brother. 👌 Best wishes for this..❤
Those chili rasboras are going to be so happy!!! 😂😂

AQUARIUM DOMAIN BABY 💪💪
This looks dope. Looking forward to the progress.
Quick question: how many fish are in your 150? Trying to decide how many I want to put in my 125. General American cichlid combos.
Thanks! I think around 18-20 but some of those are the barbs and plecos
@@CichlidBros thank you. I have 2 BN and 2 rope fish in my 125, no huge fish like oscars. So I hope I can fit 1-2 more then call it a day.
Amazing! Looking forward to the build. I have a question. What kind of sand you use for this 550 discus tank?
multi (big) tank syndrome lol
Hope you checked out the fish corner cleavland is a underrated dyi goat 👍🏾

Thanks! Will definitely keep track of all the costs and share it. Will move the tank to the right of the box and have it covered
Nice work. Trim that window and box your electrical panel while you’re at it
Will be part of finishing the space like mentioned
I wish u add a support legs in between to hold that much loads of water
It shouldn’t be needed

I would run 90 degree brackets bottom and top of where the supports meet the base and top, it will add so much strength to the structure.
Thanks for the suggestion. I just added L brackets to the bottom of the legs. Might add to the top as well
How was the length selected? One might have thought that increasing the length would add only a small increase in the final cost. Be sure to get those brothers over to help.
Didn’t want to completely block the window and stay about a foot away from fuse box
Are you putting the aquarium on top of carpet?
Yes
You really have the bug 🐜 bad 🤣🤣
Good luck. Will that tank be close to that electric box next to it?
Thanks! It’ll be moved to the back corner once finished - a few feet away
@@CichlidBros good stuff- sorry for the obvious question, but was thinking splash zones from big fish lol!
First 🎉

Smol PP hard!
um ya might wanna turn that away from your electric panel there 🤔😆
I’m not leaving the tank in middle of the room lol. It will move into permanent spot once ready to fill
Cost of lumber these days is just sad. Just one little suggestion, a hammer drill instead of a normal drill will make your life so much easier.
Stingrays, arowanas, and discus. That's all I need to say.
450 will be overstock with 100 chili raaboras
Mo African cichlids, Please!
AquariumDomain much? :)
Yep as I mention in all of these videos
@@CichlidBros yes, brilliant shout outs to Joey and Jeremy. It's looking absolutely fantastic so far - hope you're feeling strong enough to move back into that corner! Keep up the great work
I wouldn't advise building an aquarium in front of your breaker box.
It’s not in front of it anymore
Does your husband help with the fish of do you do it all yourself
No my girlfriend does not
It’s not big enough. You should’ve gone bigger, bigger sir 😡
lol big enough for what?? I didn’t even say what the stocking was going to be…
@@CichlidBros For monsters monsters for monster tanks Sir 👍😞
It’s gonna be awesome :)
Aquarium domain came up with this.
I literally say this in the video
Hey when your done come build me one!
