When I bought my brake light/integrated turn signal for my Ninja 300, I just assumed TST was yet another aftermarket company with cheaply made products. I was totally wrong as made evident by their R3 builds. Bart and the guys are legitimate! Definitely worth supporting such an amazing company.
I am so happy TST is not just producing excellent aftermarket products but hitting the performance side of the house, of my list of bike shops online TST is at the top,
I'm gobsmacked the R3 is a racing bike. All I hear from the 160 mph on straights is it's a girl's bike. Isn't it sad in the United States the majority of riders don't understand that a bike is a bike. I sold my Triumph Sport Bike after 12 years, and I have enjoyed a smaller more comfortable R3. I appreciate each bike for what it does.
D. Paul Gladstone it's really STUPID actually. The problem is that these little children that talk shit about it are the ones that buy 600cc or bigger bikes for their first bike and think they the shit when they, in fact, can't ride for shit. Put them ALL in sketchy situation that takes skill and knowledge to get out of, and they'd crash their bikes and hurt themselves and/or others!!! Kids my dude. They will ALL talk shit. I have more fun on my 300 than I EVER had on my 600. Fact!!! I just ignore the ignorance. And laugh when I see their bike wrecked.
RenesMDJ you seem to forget but looks and sounds is a major factor. Make the r3 have a i4 that revs up to 20k like the old 250rr and you got attraction for old and new riders. I also hear all the time they pick an r6 because if it's looks(not power ,weight or handling).
Good old roebling road my favorite race track. I haven't been on a bike in over 20 years but I sure miss it. I'm thinking about getting a r3 and trying to do some track days. I still have my TL but it hasn't been started in 20 years also. Is the r3 as fun to ride as it looks?
I just picked up some supercorsas in 120/150 (and some warmers) for my R3 race bike should be a big improvement over the rosso 2's I was running. I'm curious which Bridgestones you were using though? Awesome video as usual! Cheers 🍻
This video was from 2.5 years ago so there is a very good chance it has changed but yes, at the time this was the track record for that respective motor displacement. I'd love to see documentation or even a video of that stock R3 breaking the record!
Do reply Please Why did u use 150 on rear on supersport r3 rather 160 or 170 ? Please let me knw d reason i m planning to change frm stock to 160 or 170 with same rim and same stock everythng. ur suggestion please..
I will have to make a tech tip video about this topic. I have typed a response to this question so many times that it is getting boring. Once I have this video posted all you guys can just watch it and realize that putting a large rear tire on the rear of your bike does nothing good for performance.
Ima give it my best I haven't got time race any this year after takin 2nd in the cup last year but rd atl by July 29th are you guys plannin to get out to roebling this winter for testing
We are an Ohlins dealer. Anything you need from their catalog we can get you. You can do just springs and oil, or maybe springs and a valve kit. That will be a very cost effective way to really give you some performance without killing the wallet.
TSTindustries that's unfortunate..what plans do you have on fixing that problem..are you going to show us the work that will be done on the R1 if it hasn't been done already?
We first have to take the motor down again and take it apart. We will do a very thorough inspection for anything that may be out of spec, and also identify the problem that caused our last down time. We may shoot a video about it but I don't know if time will allow for that.
Anslem Brathwaite depends on what you need it to do. If you are wanting optimum grip, compliance, feedback then the size of your tire will be determined by your body mass and riding style. If you just want to see a bigger tire in the back because you see higher displacement bikes using them then you are doing it wrong.
TSTindustries okay thanks well im 5/11 and 210lbs I would want the best feed back from the tyre and the look of it as well. But the bike is not used for racing.
I would recommend going with 150/120. If you can get to a track day you can also experiment with a 160 on the rear but then you are just dragging a larger/heavier tire around with a weak motor with no other benefit but just looking bigger.
Nope. This was moto3 FMRRA. We will be racing CCS at Roebling in August. The 400 will be allowed in the GT500, Supersport 500, and Superbike 500 classes at that event. I am sure we will be working hard to beat those formidable machines at that event.
I think that if you need to know that you better look into the factory service manual. Yamaha sells a very comprehensive one that will answer this and any other questions about removal, re-installation, inspection, etc. of all parts on the bike. It's the same book we use for our efforts.
Bottom end noise from around crank, wont' turn on, smoke pours out of exhaust. We have not had time to strip it down yet to know the source of the problem.
Dude!!! I wish I could get you to help me with my r3!!! I'm having so much freaking trouble with it, it's driving me CRAZY!!! All I did was install the m4, cat delete, and k&n air filter and now it just doesn't want to idle. Put the stock air filter back in and change! Waiting on my ecu to arrive, but it'll be a while and I'm thinking it's more than that. Idk? But it's pissing me off. Love my lil r3, but about to put it on the market!!! Btw, awesome job to you 2 fellas!!! Congrats on that 1st and 2nd place. That's why I wish I could get to you and let you work on my bike. It's OBVIOUS that you and your team KNOW what the hell you are doing. Keep up the AWESOME work.
Raf Van Nuffel if you read this correctly, I said I put the stock air filter back on. And I'm not stupid!!! If I'd have the stock exhaust, i'd do that as well. Thanks for the suggestions, but not speaking to you about the situation. ✌
Raf did not know you didn't have the stock exhaust. For what it's worth, when you post about a bike problem on a bike upload page, people (fellow riders) will try to be genuinely helpful to get you running right. Does your R3 have the AIS block off plate? Is the airbox plugged on the bottom? Are the emissions parts removed from bike? If emissions equipment removed, are the throttle bodies capped?
Nice work on both machines. I have something from your shop on my z125 race bike, it's a stock class on Kart tracks. The z125 isn't finished yet, but getting close now. Just need to finish bars and seat mods, a few other things are on my channel. Would love to see a z125 build from you, something that fits in an SFLminigp class, or better yet the F1 class for SFL, NJminigp, and NYminigp. For those wondering, SFL has a class that allows some mods to the Z/Grom that doesn't fit the other classes. Check the websites for each location for class specifics, www.njminigp.com/ www.nyminigp.com/ www.sflminigp.com/ And again, nice work on the R3's, too bad the "real bike" broke down. Too many people don't appreciate that racing is racing, don't need to always be pushing as fast as possible. Small bikes on twisty tracks can be plenty of fun!
Yea, but we were the ones riding up a class. The moto3 classes are really small here so the other bikes that fit the cc criteria fill them up. If you take a look at the starting grid there were only two real moto3 bikes on it. I think we handled it real well, but I do have to give credit to the two moto3 riders. So an H2 and a Grom are "just bikes"?
All bikes are not "all bikes".
E.A. Hawley pretty sure he's saying that no matter the size of the bike it is in fact a bike. But the h2 is another level.
Love my R3! I will never sell her. She will be handed down to my wife, who will start riding soon!
Need that 400 build in my life.
Great sportsmanship
Thanks.
The Yamaha R3 is the best selling sports bike in the world; because it is the best sports bike in the world.
That is a pretty subjective statement.
6:48 - That Holeshot!
Two sweet rides produce the results. After all that work, you gotta be happy with that. Some nice racing there too!
Thank you. We are pretty happy with the results but now the motor will come apart for more upgrades.
R3 is a great size hobby super bike, really can put the bike through its paces on the track
TST keep up the great work
Oooh I know that girl, she was a rider at a really really young age and actually won a lot of championships. Good to see such a prodigy.
Super awesome! Keep up the great work guys! Glad to know the R3's handled well with the 150's.
Nice job Bartek :)
Dzieki.

I love that place. Thanks for the show. Brought back good memories :-)
Well, why don't you come back to us buddy. It's a hell of a good time, I'm sure you know.
As a spectator. Funds deficient otherwise.
Saludos.. arriba R3
Alex using a horizontal unrestricted rocket launcher at the start. HURLed himself down the track! That was epic!
I believe its a JATO technology mainly using digested beans.
Congratulations!
Thank you.
Great job guys!
Thank you.
Nice video
Bart i m gonna try to get back on track next year you better not pass me with that R3 of yours. GOOOO TST!!!!!!
well done! looking really good out on the track
Thank you. It was fun.
Great video! How did you like going up to 120 & 150 - did you lose turning radius?
I just picked up some supercorsas in 120/150 (and some warmers) for my R3 race bike should be a big improvement over the rosso 2's I was running. I'm curious which Bridgestones you were using though? Awesome video as usual! Cheers 🍻
We tried the R11 Battlax tires at this last event.
Awsome you two sorry haven't seen ya bart I'll have a beer with you guys soon.
We will catch up soon enough. Are you going to be at CCS Roebling?
Whats the exhaust on bike 31? sounds good... @ 6:40

No, the R3 is a 321cc smaller displacement bike. We only categorize it as a superbike due to the race class it participates in.

Anslem Brathwaite I don't ride on the street so unfortunately I won't be able to answer that intelligently.
Curious to know if the Kawasaki 400 is allowed in that division.

He is a rocket. Probably something to do with 20+ years of racing experience on all different size bikes.
Sorry I must have missed it. What bike is the girl riding? Is it just a lowered R3?
Nsf250r
Or a bike designed to be raced, not a street bike made to be a race bike. That and she probably had 30 pounds of weight difference on him.
E G easy now that little girl is highly talented and I think she is 13 14ish
She is just eleven in elementary school straight A student
philip dodd I thought so her and ummm I cant remember her name purple bike both lights out fast its awsome to see the young ones loving the sport
wonder how this R3 compare to KTM RC 390, with the same amount of effort put in.

I think that if you need to know that you better look into the factory service manual. Yamaha sells a very comprehensive one that will answer this and any other questions about removal, re-installation, inspection, etc. of all parts on the bike. It's the same book we use for our efforts.
What is the number 45 bike at 4:32?
That was some sort of custom built Ducati in the Euromax class that we were sharing practice sessions with. Looks pretty trick no?
TSTindustries Ah. That explains it. I thought it looked a little beefy to be running with you guys, lol. It does look trick though.
We ran the Moto3, Super Street 300, and the bigger twins practice together. After that we were split up for qualifying and races.
Put USD forks n dual front disc setup..
USD forks are in the plans. Dual brake rotors....nope. The bike doesn't need that much stopping power and the extra weight can't be justified.
It’ll go like 135 +
What exactly happened with the R1?
Bottom end noise from around crank, wont' turn on, smoke pours out of exhaust. We have not had time to strip it down yet to know the source of the problem.
TSTindustries will there be video when you do?
Oppps somebody shouting that word Lol...
it happens....emotions fly high at these events

You combine the two stroke power delivery, very lightweight bike, with the lightweight rider and you have a recipe for serious speed.
