In four Gospels, Christ never even remotely suggests that His disciples should have dominion over anyone, or that non-believers should be coerced into living according to "biblical" standards. What Christ DOES say is that His kingdom is NOT of this world, and He gives us the Greatest Commandment which He said ALL "the law" and the prophets hung. Thing is, you CANNOT both love your neighbor as yourself and at the same time force them to live according to your own personal "interpretation" of scriptures. That is DESPISING your neighbor, not loving them.
"Christian Nationalism" was actually a catchphrase for the architects of Apartheid. "Christian Democracy" on the other hand is a venerable political tradition with plenty of ideas on offer, bizarre that these people seem to have no interest it.
Christian Nationalism will ultimately lead to the creation of first and second-class citizens, Christians being regarded as superior to non-Christians, perhaps to the extent that only Christians will be permitted to hold public office. Furthermore, denominationalism will result in conflicts as to who is Christian and who is not. Which denomination will have the power, Calvinists or Catholics, Pentecostals or Greek Orthodox. Will a state religion emerge as it did in Tudor England or the Roman Empire? In the past, such issues have led to horrific persecution of and by many sects, as well as wars. Lastly, what will take precedence, love of Christ or love of country? We cannot serve both God and Mammon. Sadly, Christian Nationalism conflates the two. Ergo, it sounds heretical, but I do not want to eliminate the heretics, but merely help them see their error, if they can at this point.
You mean like how public figures who speak out against left-leaning narratives tend to get unpersoned, dogpiled, canceled by the mainstream, lawfared into bankruptcy, and thrown in prison on bogus charges for way longer than the written penalty for the alleged crime?
The problem is that it's not really simply "nationalism" that they want. They want an all out theocracy with Drumpf as messiah-king. It's chauvinism not nationalism. But every time they defend it, they use a more "harmless" definition of nationalism. Like, "shouldn't all people have their own country?", or, "shouldn't our borders be save?" (suggesting of course that this isn't the case right now). Also - interestingly a lot of major players in the Christian "nationalism" movement are actually catholic. Opus Dei people for example. And it was catholics who influenced evangelicals to become "pro life" (rather "forced birth" because they don't care about life once it's actually born).
I believe polarization on the abortion issue is harmful to this country. The ideal is legal on demand for at least 3 months and completely illegal unless the baby faces certain death after 6 months (viability). It is absolutely sinful to get an abortion in cases that aren't rape incest or health but absolute bans harm the woman in ethically justifiable cases. This is the conflict we must consider for a reasonable solution. I might be bias though because this is basically the view of my ELCA denomination.
Yeah, remember when protestant Americans were reliably anti-RC? Remember when Americans were concerned about JFK having allegiance to a foreign prince (the Pope)? Considering the players, now it's looking like the coming state church that Voddie craves will be very Catholic-flavored. Christian Nationalism is looking more and more like a protestant death wish.
And yet by your vote . you voted for and/ or assisted the most non Christian, non Constitutional hate mongering party who support this Christian Nationalism
"Christian nationalists" aren't the ones telling me that it's bonkers to allow our border to remain effectively open while we've been unjustifiably and violently making enemies all over the world. "Christian nationalists" aren't the ones telling me that the United States needs to resume manufacturing almost everything we consume. "Christian nationalists" aren't the ones telling me that politicians should care more their own country's citizens than they do about non-citizens. "Christian nationalists" aren't the ones telling me that a massive and bloated government, fueled by taxpayer dollars, is always going to be corrupt and in need of shrinkage.

They hate the idea of globalism, and yet they also sincerely believe that God desired globalism prior to Babel. Weird.
So thankful for your voice Randall. Can’t wait to read Jesus Loves Canaanites (it’s on my Christmas list)

You mean like how the UK is currently fining and arresting people for speech countering left-leaning narratives on social media?
She looked at him like he was stupid in that interview

I think of it this way (and I am not a Christian Nationalist): I am voting AGAINST Kamala not FOR Trump.
What is it about Kamala that is so reprehensible to your conscience that isn’t offended by Trump?

Shouldn't you be at those websites where they are attempting to gaslight you into those beliefs?
@@sunnyandbreezy Do you really need some socially validated "authority" figure to spoon-feed all of "your" opinions to you?
@@Cybrix Why are you triggered by my comment? Why are you discussing topics that have nothing to do with Christianity?
Sounds like that Trump-fear has gotten the better of you.
@@sunnyandbreezy "triggered"?
Oh, so you're JUST trolling.
Understood.
