I’m a former evangelical Christian Pastor of 30 years. I enjoyed this conversation and you are right on! I could give you inside details to the worldview I formerly held! It’s nutty!
Forced faith is evil -- morally and biblically. You are closer to the heart of Christ by leaving a church that teaches you to live like a self-righteous devil.
What ever beliefs I may privately hold, I support a democratic secular state where women’s health care depends on medicine, not theology as do all our private choices. This is the only way where people can be truly free, including those who want to practice their religion. You just can’t force it on the rest of US!
So a segment called "ask an atheist" must also be about what a Christian has to say? You do realize that's what Christians do to atheists every day everywhere we go? Always being set aside for a religious point of view.
As an athiest myself I just watch humans do what they do. I always wonder what will they say about us in the future - that we were Exactly like ancient civilizations.
I freed myself from Charismatic Christianity about 10 years ago, age 60. My extended family are still all in on it. They would see nothing wrong with Wilson’s plan. Frightening.
I’m listening to the season 2 second episode of the Extremely American podcast. The strategy for the church under discussion was written by the present church head’s father. The strategy is to take over a small town. I immediately thought of Stephen King’s Salems Lot.
I'd like to congratulate you guys for total inactivity in the wake of the hurricanes and devastation on the Eastern Coast. No money raised, no blood drives, no food drives, no truckers sent to the area. Just self justification. But you can always ignore the work of religious groups that have actually made a difference.
I'm not an Atheist, but I agree with them about the problematic aspects of "Christian Nationalism". We live in a pluralistic society that is made up of people who hold a variety of religious and cultural beliefs. And arriving at government enforced "theocratic" (or even "theonomic") ordinances, derived from some Protestant Christian group's interpretation of the Bible, to be instituted as governing rules for our society, just doesn't seem plausible at this time. However, I also believe that Atheists should be as willing to learn from examples of the moral behavior of those of us who are not Atheists, as they expect us to be to learn from examples set by Atheists. My mother made me go to church. When I was 16 I said no more. No one will ever make me go to a church again.

FFRF: not just for Atheists and Agnostics; also for Christians who are Against Christian Nationalism.
Thanks for this informative show.
As well as all other faiths that reject Christian Nationalism.
For real -- I'm a missionary and reject wholeheartedly the power-grabbing theocracy of fear.

Horrifying crazy wrapped up in sunshine and lollipops. It makes
my blood run cold.
Remember the Opus Dei connections too.
Leonard Leo…..
👍🏼😎

I'm Jewish, so I'm terrified by theocracy of ANY faith.
You do realize your missing the point by opening with "I'm Jewish". The experience of being atheist is vastly different.
I'm Jewish by DNA, but agnostic. I am right there with ya.

I just did a video on this. So glad I found my people!
As a christian theocracy seems antithetical to the teaching of Jesus 😢

Can we just that they are motivated by power.
I had to switch off after the 75th, "like".
If you’re not Christ like you’re not godly…😊

There are other secular organizations that have that as their purpose. Otherwise you might have a point.

Tell me you missed the point without telling me you missed the point.
@@jpbrooks2 so you have no problem imposing an atheist world view on the 80% of the country that isn't secular? Is that your idea of tolerance?
