How much money would we pay to have a full noon with them chatting, no pressure, no obsession for small details and just letting the chatting flow with a couple beers? I know I would pay more than I can admit.
Suggest you track down the PopArt DVD from 2003 if you haven't seen it. It has a running commentary behind their promo videos ['Pet Shop Boys in conversation with Chris Heath']. It's great.
@@FranciscoHernandez-ld2es I was lucky to meet Chris twice. 1997 at the Savoy concert and he signed my About cd, and when I met Neil and Chris at a HMV PopArt signing. Both very down to Earth.
The Very cover is tricky, as the CD is orange, the cassette is blue and the vinyl record is yellow. If you have the CD and go to the record shop searching for the record, you may miss it out :)). The orange lego CD cover is absolutely amazing art, though.
They could have had a go with the limited edition triple vinyl. It had a full logo with their faces on each side of the cover. Striking and effective. Never liked this cover nor the inner sleeve.
I could NEVER.. EVER...GET BORED. OF THESE GUYS.. ABSOLUTELY ❤❤❤them too bits although I ❤neil.. Chris is my favourite he's so cute plays absolutely brilliantly.. PETSHOP BOYS for me.. All the way ❤❤❤These guys too bits
I am rediscovering PSB right now ... such an incredible amount of high quality material. What a legacy!!!! It's not just the albums though, also the artwork. the stage setups and the videos. These guys are the real deal, so much hard work they put into all this - incredible endurance. A friend of mine once got me backstage to where the crew was hanging out after one of the shows in Oakland about 8 years ago. I really wish I knew what I know about PSB now back then, it would have been so much fun to have more well informed praise on my lips haha
The secret to their long-term success? They're just a couple of regular guys, like you and me. However, beneath that 'ordinariness', they happen to be geniuses, too.
@@terencemeikle534 obviously, you know Pet Shop Boys by their public image only. Sure 'regular guys' appearance can make a big improvement on the sales
Release is one of my favorite albums. Right up there with Elysium and Behaviour. I absolutely love albums that create a mood and these certainly do that. Absolute joy to play.
@@ChunterInfo I've mulled this over as a life long PSB fan. Finally, I just followed PSB's lead - That their main goal has always been creating great music for EVERYONE to enjoy.
I was quite surprised that Introspection is their best selling album of all time!!! Probably because of Always on My Mind? Also, where is Elysium? And finally... I just ADORE Release! So under appreciated. It is a pity. Some great tracks there, oh yes!
Actually was the point were it all came together - the music the production the visual and the image. "But you just stand behind me, with a keyboard and TV that someone has leant you. You're good at standing still, I'm quite good at singing. They love it. It pays our rent."
I don't want to be pretentious, but I want to praise the Behaviour album. I'm rather a rock guy, but that's one of the best albums at all I can't take down when I put it on.
remember when it came out and alll the magazines had it on their Best Of lists and every big musician even hard rock and metal bands all listed it among their favorite albums of the year!
This is from the BBC doc that I had to search for to watch here in America, but I was able to a few days ago and it is excellent. I hope it gets released so the world can see it!
Loved this part, thanks for uploading it !!! Im to this day surprised that Chris hates the cover of Actually, my personal guess is that he doesnt own all of the PSB releases, maybe the albums but he sometimes forgets what songs are here or there so Im assuming any of Us can guess immediatly a song of theirs in 2 seconds, my thought is that if you play to Chris a random non single of an album he might get difficulties to know which and where hjahaha , how can you not love him ?
I have loved them since the original version of "West End Girls" in 1984. When they finally complete their last album, the guys should take an album cover picture in front of an actual pet shop.
Been loving their music since the 1980s, still am now in 2024
My first track was "In the night". I was immediately hooked. It still gives me goosebumps
How much money would we pay to have a full noon with them chatting, no pressure, no obsession for small details and just letting the chatting flow with a couple beers? I know I would pay more than I can admit.
I’d sell a kidney! I hung around outside the exit of the Manchester Apollo to try and meet them. Chris ran onto the bus, Neil signed my ticket!

It has a dancing star…
@GlennDavidH Yeees! I was about to say that too!
Uh, I wish they created PopArt 2...
I’d pay anything to spend all noon with Chris ❤❤❤❤❤
Introspective is a masterpiece and a milestone that only few can achieve!
By far my favourite :)
Chris is so funny in this documentary.
He is always so. He has a great sense of humour.

Tenant talks as he sings.
It's impressing.
He basically sings speaking.
Awesomely beautiful voice.
Behaviour is a brilliant album, one of my favorites!
Love that one too! Harold Faltermeyer co produced it.
Mee too..
Fully agree - tiz their best!
To quote Robbie Williams, Behaviour was released around the time I left home at 18 years old, it was indeed "a friend" I wore the cassette out...
I was lucky to meet my 80s hero’s backstage after their concert few years ago to have a chat for a few seconds. They were so nice and humble!
I only have one word to describe PSB: perfection!
The Very cover is tricky, as the CD is orange, the cassette is blue and the vinyl record is yellow. If you have the CD and go to the record shop searching for the record, you may miss it out :)). The orange lego CD cover is absolutely amazing art, though.

Still have the orange 3D CD.

I treasure both CD cases, Very and Bilingual, they´re fantastic, Very´s case like a lego piece
Always thought that the orange 3D Lego package should have been awarded in Grammy awards

We are the pet shop boys
Adore...40 years almost
I absolutely love ❤THE PET SHOP BOYS. Fantastic British band ❤ Thank you for the brilliant music...
The first time I heard Pet Shop Boys back in the early 80s ..for me it was love at first sight for my ears...their music is timeless...!!!
How can people hate the Release album. It’s full of gems !
The secret to their long-term success? They're just a couple of regular guys, like you and me. However, beneath that 'ordinariness', they happen to be geniuses, too.
Yep. Aaand they also have a great taste and they know that c:
@@Astroni800 They seem to love what they do, and love their fans.
They are not 'regular guys' at all😂 they are gays and flamboyant 🎉
@sufyanlowel4631 Dude, you've made my day. The thought of Chris Lowe being capable of 'flamboyance' is completely hilarious!
@@terencemeikle534 obviously, you know Pet Shop Boys by their public image only. Sure 'regular guys' appearance can make a big improvement on the sales
Ahh!! Incredible! Two legends!
They skipped over the albums “Yes” and “Elysium.”
@@bobbytumbleweed LOL! That is like someone taking their kids to someone else’s house for a get together and not introducing two of them to everyone…
@@themotownboy1more like forgot couple of kids on the gas station 😂
“Introspective” is my all time favourite… “Left To My Own Devices”…..
I'm 55 now. Been with them the whole journey! Loved that video.

I agree - but I'm not sure we are in a majority!
Elysium? That one did not really work for me. They sounded out of great material other than "Invisible" and maybe the opening track...
I have all the first albums! Vinyl and Cassette tape! Love all!!!
Please upload the whole program 🙏
It's on BBC iplayer
They got their band name from a Pet shop on Springbridge road in Ealing, former owners were friends with Neil and Chris. Interesting!
Bilingual! What a great nostalgic summer album from good old 1996.
I Love your Music. . .ever!
The BBC Imagine: Pet Shop Boys documentary is incredible. I felt like I was privy to personal conversation with them both.
Chris is hilarious
Chris ist halt Chris und anders möchte ich ihn gar nicht haben 😅👍🏼
Es una discografía impresionante. Ningún album de estudio sobra, todos son de altísimo nivel.
Let's digest this for a hot minute: "Please" is the ONLY PSB album to go platinum in the US..... What is wrong with Americans!!!?
Americans have bad taste. And I'm American. Thankfully, they still have a following here.
You're not going to like the answer, but you probably already know
@@ChunterInfo I've mulled this over as a life long PSB fan. Finally, I just followed PSB's lead - That their main goal has always been creating great music for EVERYONE to enjoy.
Американцы не понимают ничего в настоящей музыке.
Великобритания всегда была центром гениальных исполнителей .
Radio is pure garbage in the USA l. The communications act in the 90’s made it even worse.
Well done to Neil Tennant calling out Taylor Swift's bland music.
Yeah it’s all SH1T.

It was just at the right time

I ❤ the album Release!
Yes, it's underrated! Except for a few tracks I really like that one too.
I love Pet Shop Boys!❤❤ Introspective is the my favourite album. But, I like so much others. Warm Regards from Brazil.❤❤
My favorite CD cover of all time is the Orange "Lego" cover from "Very."
Bet they're a great laugh on a night out!
Class, actually!
👍👍
Love these guys😂
2 very talented guys, they deserve every bit of their success ❤
I absolutely loved this segment. If only it went on for an hour and covered all their artwork. A pethead since day1 💕🤗
I don't want to be pretentious, but I want to praise the Behaviour album. I'm rather a rock guy, but that's one of the best albums at all I can't take down when I put it on.
nothing pretentious about that. I suspect most PBS fans would agree with you.

I love Behaviour ... It's a classic!!!
They were missing the Yes cover.
And Elysium.
Were they forgotten? Were they IGNORED? 😅😅😅😅😅
In my top 4 of their albums, together with Introspective, Behaviour and Very.
They definitely were more clever than anyone has given them credit for!!!
Same here 😊@@markusandergard6925
I would love to hear them chat about their excellent B-sides.
A word about "Yes": YES!!!
Amazing. Thank you for all the words!
Incredible and so clever!! PSB Forever!!

Impresionante
Release is a masterpiece. Fact.
Behaviour and Very the best !!
Love it - thanks for upload. Love how the PSB artwork has continued to evolve and be at forefront of design in pop and British culture
Nice!
These guys were killing it in the 80s
" Them" [ being themselves ] is why I love them. They come across threw their music .

Por que no subis el documental completo?😢
Neil says “Introspective” is their biggest selling album but it’s actually “Very”.
Eu amo tudo isso!❤
I still got the Surburbia Maxi Single 😻
They should have mentioned my favorite"Elysium" (beside "Behavior") .

The best
The first album I ever listened to from the P.S.B. was disco. They have the wrong release date on Spotify! Was it not the following year after please?
'Please' was released in March 1986 and 'Disco' in November 1986.
Please come back to Australia!! It's been waaaaay too long since you were last here.🙏
Muito bom parabéns

Behaviour nightlife hot spot great records.
The yawn image is iconic.
And where is "Yes"? A brilliant one
Behaviour is their best. Very , too. Bilingual and Nightlife have some classics.. Even Axl Rose loves the Pets.
Great video. They skipped “Yes“ and “elysium“
though 😉
Yes and Elysium are great albums by the queens of pop 😍🎶
