    IPA dispenser is like my lab solvent bottles! You can add a finer tip, over the current big one OR just dry tip/tube assembly out completely and then carefully seal the tip (a heat gun works well) and re-drill a smaller hole or pierce with a fine hypodermic needle for "micro flow" If bottles begin squirting "on their own" in the summer heat another tiny needle hole on the top of the bottle stops this and you quickly learn to cover it with a finger tip for "purposeful squeezing"

      A piston-type dispensing reservoir is also helpful. I have two on my bench, one for alcohol and one for Windex. Very helpful for dispensing small amounts of solvent or cleaner directly onto a Q-tip or paper towel. (PS, the plastic type piston dispensers can be a little tippy so I put glass marbles in them; smooth aquarium or floral vase pebbles will also work as ballast. I hate tippy containers that are prone to leaking, which means nearly all modern containers for liquids. Perhaps we should bring back clay amphora jars which can lay at the bottom of the ocean for millenia without leaking ! 🤔😁).

    I'm all about high quality materials, we'll designed and functional products with a great tactile feel and control. I can't stand how almost no products these days are actually "worth" their price. Everybody is looking to make their dollar along the way and 'products value' aren't worth their price. so many products are made to stop working not to last... I find it frustrating.

    Hello folks,
    all outputs (L+R) and the headphone output of my Korg X3 are noisy. The noise is also there when I'm not playing any sound. Does anyone have experience how to fix the problem?
    Best regards

    Great video.
    Please can I ask........is it easy to replace the floppy drive on this synth? Thank you for any advice.

      Thanks. Sorry, this was the only X3 I’ve ever had on the bench. I didn’t even look to see if it had a floppy.

    So you had a Bass Oddity? May be a song in there somewhere :-)

    Looks like Lyle got his brace removed. How did he injure himself anyway?

    • @PsionicAudio
      @PsionicAudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was just the kind you get at the drugstore. Aggravated an old injury, needed it for a few days. No biggie.

      @@PsionicAudio Glad to hear it. I'm older than you and I have arthritis and back issues and so on. My hands in particular are beat to hell, and now I wish I'd worn rubber gloves and workgloves more (in particular, my time in the telecommunications industry pulling cable and installing connectors beat the heck out of my hands and shoulders with lots of repetitive motion stresses). Something for you to consider since you do so much fine handwork and use so much alcohol in your cleaning of circuit boards, eyelet boards and so on. If I had known In advance how much pain I would be setting myself up for in my later years, I probably would have taken better care of myself, and maybe bought stock in Tylenol as well. "Growing old ain't for sissies, as Bette Davis put it.

    That bass/organ thing may be something in velocity cross-switching in the patch. Programming the X3 is a nightmare. I owned an X2 (the 73 key version) for about 6 months before I decided it had to go.

    • @PsionicAudio
      @PsionicAudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was in the patch and set the volumes of the two organ voices to 0 (didn't save it, left it as the owner had it). But even then the organ sounds randomly jumped out.
      Decided not my circus, not my monkey.

      @@PsionicAudio Ooh. Flaky. Korgs in general also sometimes act weird when the memory battery is weakening. In any case, it’s an X model, and really not worth fidgeting with IMO. So many better Korgs, both before and after that series. I guess there was a reason it was only made for a bit over a year.

      Yeah, I was never into most of Vince's stuff (DM, Y, Erasure). Love The Cure and Tears for Fears and Duran Duran though. And others. Synths can be cool. This X3 was... not inspiring.
