- Part Two of our Labour Day long weekend getaway took us to the top side of Lock #36 on the Trent Severn Waterway, Kirkfield Lift Lock. Here's the Google Maps location - if you scroll through the photos, you can actually see a few shots of when the incident occurred which led to the damage and subsequent shut down in September of 2022;

Paul, I love your videos. My wife and I have been watching them along. You have given us so many great ideas. Thank you so much for doing this!
My motivation for starting this channel was to inspire others to enjoy the boating lifestyle, so great to know you're enjoying everything. Looking forward to more!!
Happy Boating!
Awesome video. We stopped at the same marina last year. Wonderful people.
Love the seat for anchor girl. Adding a new level of casual to locking through.😎
Yes, good people at Sunset Cove Marina.
And that folding seat that Anchor Girl was using is one of two we have in Boogaboo which are perfect for traveling, as they fold and store flat. Have had similar ones on the past four boats over the years 👍
Awesome video boogaboo is awesome and tiny kitty and anchor girl too. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I'm gonna miss our boating days during the off season 😐
@@BoatingWithBoogaboo It's definitely sad. Hopefully it will be a great next boating season 😍 boogaboo is the best! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Hey buddy, great video as usual looked pretty calm in the water. Taking Easy Adjustment out of the water this week, have a list of minor repairs and a little TLC needing done in the spring.
Keep the great videos coming, very interesting for us new boaters..
Thanks and will do. I'm just working on editing the next video from the Labour Day getaway. Plus, lots more coming for my 'How I Did It' project videos to share during the off season.
Thanks for another great video. that was our last weekend out on the boat. It was a great one but haulout for me is this week :(. Had a great season as I hope you did as well. Now to planning boat projects for the spring.
Sad to hear that your season has come to an end, but glad it was a good one for you.
Ours was, in a word, different. Looking forward to next year. Maybe I'll be able to knock off a couple of the projects I had on this year's list! 😂
Thanks for the video. BTW nice Tee Shirt, we purchased a couple for a great little store in Bobcaygeon a few years ago.
Nice I think I got mine in either Fenelon Falls or at Buckhorn.
Good stuff Paul! I got a little behind in watching as I got super busy. Cheers!
No problem, so long as you eventually find time to watch my boring videos 🤣
And... you're gonna want to keep watching, as I'll be revealing a major change for us, coming up soon 😃
@@BoatingWithBoogaboo I’m all caught up now. Mmmm…intriguing comment
We went through Kirkfield twice this season and had the same good luck. Drove straight in from the bottom both times. We drive by there every time we go to the boat and it always seems there is a lot guys looking and not a lot of work going on.... Oh well, I am sure they will get it sorted out at some point. Cheers.
Yes, great timing for sure. If we had arrived there five minutes later, it would have been a two and a half hour wait to reach the top. Glad I phoned the lock station ahead of our arrival so they knew we were on the way.
And plans for next season, or just gonna play it by ear?
Plans?? I found since we retired that planning is a bit of a moving target. I will definitely choose the "Play it by ear option". Had you told me we would be back in boating this time last year I would have told you to crack another Corona!! 👍. We will definitely be a lot more cognizant of timing for the TSW. The trip we made to Burleigh this year was way to busy for my liking. I was a great summer!!
@CanukSpyder Well, all I can say is planning trips during retirement sure sounds good to me, but that's still a couple of years down the road for me. But in the meantime, I'll take you up on that Corona offer 😉🍻
@@BoatingWithBoogaboo 👍
LOL!! We're here, that's how we know where we are, cuz we're here...I may have to use that...😆
Hey, it was on the fly and I was under a lot of pressure 😂
BTW, best of luck with the sale of The Whale. And just so you know, those 370 Sundancers are super easy to run single handed 😜
Haha! 😂good stuff…thanks for the positive vibes on selling The Whale…370’s are a bit bigger than I want to go, but options are plentiful. First things first tho…😁
🤣Thanks Paul! 370's are a bit out of my price range, but never know!
@WiscoBoater Kinda out of my price range as well 😂 That said, any decent sized cruiser with inboards or vee-drives should be a breeze to handle on your own - even in a breeze.
Just do me a favour and no thrusters! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@BoatingWithBoogaboo hahaha! Hoping to find something in the 30-ish foot range with twin inboards…and smaller engines. Thrusters…unlikely in that size range so you shouldn’t have to worry!😁
You need my 540 sundancer
Nope. Had a bigger Sea Ray already and our 370 Dancer is the best boat for us and our cruising lifestyle. Trust me, after owning SIX Sea Rays over the past 24 years, bigger isn't always better. . .
@@BoatingWithBoogaboo very true. I admire your sea ray knowledge!
That Sea Ray knowledge comes from having to fix them all 😉 It all started back in 1999 with the very first job on our new-to-us 240 SDA being unplugging the 💩 line going to the holding tank 😩
Curious what the seat is that Anchor Girl is using? My wife would like one of those. Thanks!
It's a folding seat that we initially bought through West Marine when they still had stores here in Ontario. The one in the video came from a local chandlery and are always sold at TIBS, if you find yourself there in January 👍
@@BoatingWithBoogabooThanks! Appreciate the info.
You're welcome. I used to have a video showing them more in depth, but it got taken over by folks who were making/selling their own brands, so I shut it down...
Just curious. I'm a SeaRay Captain/Owner...does Anchor Girl have a respectable name??
P.s. I'm a woman.
A respectable name???? Anchor Girl is a nickname I gave her more than 20 years ago and it's used with respect for her experience and abilities in helping me handling our boat(s) and said with affection for my wife/life partner/boating companion of the past 45+ years. So, as her partner in all things, I kinda take offense with the wording of your question.
@@BoatingWithBoogaboo I was wondering why you don't call her by her name. It just seemed demeaning to me to always refer to her as anchor girl. BTW I love your videos! Trent Severn is my favorite region. Please don't be offended. Just trying to give anchor girl a name 😉
