I agree on the outside speakers. It just another hole to leak and usually don't sound that great anyways. Love the camper though. Only thing I can think of is lack of bathroom storage, and a queen bed would be better for me! Another great video!

Love the kitchen. Hitch weight is a deal breaker. No door shade. Behind the TV, add bungy lines or netting. Good place for the DVD, game console, games.
You mention hitch weight being an issue. Is that as a result of your current vehicle’s capacities making it unsafe or your preferred or target vehicle?
@@JoshtheRVNerd @Bish's RV Reviews, News, & More Current vehicle. It has 1300 hitch weight max and 1550 payload max. Adding my fat butt, the normal stuff I have in my truck and Mrs Astro that leave littles payload weight for any cargo in the truck. And I don't what to push the weights to max as the truck would wear out faster. So it's legally and physically possible but well beyond recommended. But I love this layout.
This reminds me of the 1st Travel trailer we owned. I loved that trailer. But again no rectangular shower. :( I love this decor! So light. I love how you can access that upper corner cabinet. Love the 22 inch oven. Dimmers! I would opt for a queen bed. Wow that closed in walk through is amazing.
We owned a 35 foot 2010 Innsbruck and now a 35 foot 2015 Cougar Xlite both with one a/c unit, which is not enough. In the midwest where summer temps in the upper 80's and low 90's happen often one a/c unit can not keep especially with the trailer parked in direct sun or with little shade. Dual a/c units in a rig over 30 feet is a must.
The question about keeping things from bouncing around on shelves while in transit. I stuff my pillows and blankets in the cabinets. Keeps things in place pretty good.
I believe some of the videos we will see in the next couple weeks were filmed prior to the changeover. Pretty certain that Josh had mentioned that will happen occasionally for the next little while. 😁
It’s nice, But I like the similar Catalina rear kitchen you showed about a week ago a lot better. This one only has living room seating for two, whereas the Catalina had a sofa and two recliners. This one has a better entertainment center, but to me seating matters more. Also, we liked the peninsula that provided separation in the Catalina.
@@JoshtheRVNerd I saved the video of it not long ago, but I remember it had a full bath with walk in shower up front with a rear kitchen and it was also basically a flat deck fifth wheel like this. there is another that is a tie for first, it has a large sliding entry door. i forget what it is though.
Nice Cougar. I like the color scheme, nice that solar is standard. Nice counter and storage space. Would do the table and chairs option. Love the window over the sink. I would use containers, with strong Velcro on the bottom, to hold books or blue ray disks. Unless it’s actually 7’, it is not almost 7’. I like the shower, great to see a towel bar in the bathroom.
To keep things from falling, I would suggest getting organizer bins but make sure to use gorilla shelf liner and use double sided tape to secure it. I did this in our rv and everything staid in place. This was after multiple times of things not.
Really nice rig! I like the layout as well as our current Durango 5th wheel, and though it's a little longer, it checks all of the boxes that I want in a layout of this size.
@@JoshtheRVNerd I have the 250RED. We love that we can access the fridge, pantry, most of the kitchen and the bathroom in travel mode. Though it’s a smaller rig, we feel like it has plenty of room for the two of us. I am always surprised at how many floor plans don’t allow access to the important stuff-your food and the toilet! If I can’t get to those, traveling is just a bit more complicated.
I really just like the rear or front kitchen better than the side kitchens. I like the way the living area is set up. No storage for towels in the bathroom? Gotta have some kind of shelf beside the bed. We both have phone chargers and charge every night. Give and take I guess.
Cheap and easy bedside "stand" you can add to nearly any RV! amzn.to/2XQqxDo And yeah the bath storage is a bit lacking. I'd definitely want to add some kind of towel bar or hooks or .. both maybe I have a bad habit of sleeping with my phone beside my bed and always look for a place to put them. but maybe when you're camping that's not quite as important?
Really like the build, the smart build and solar package are really attractive to me since when I buy a trailer it will almost exclusively be dry camping/boondocking. Problem is as much as I love them, I really don't know how a slide will handle our rough gravel roads up here in northern Canada.
I would never buy another rv with a rear kitchen unless I was going to park it in one place and never travel with it. In this layout, I would get a residential refrigerator rather than an rv type and a queen bed not a king Otherwise it looks nice
Just how I personally picture it being used. It could certainly be towed around, but in my head if I were personally going to tow something this size, then I would likely go with a fifth wheel. But if I were mostly Parked, then I would make it rain on this one
I watched this again they could put bathroom cabinet above the towel bar. Also in the kitchen I did not see a back splash by the stove. The nice stuff they have by the sick should go all the way around the walls in the kitchen. A couple of octopus hooks by the door for coats would be cool to.
Thanks for the second look Tim. Overall I think models in really good shape as it is, but there’s a couple little things like you mentioned it would be very low cost targets that could pick it up just a notch or two
Josh, CPAP thought. Do like Sporttrek does in their STT272VRK with the overhead storage above the bed having about a 1-1.5' wide opening in the middle (with no door) that has power outlets up there.
@@JoshtheRVNerd I agree, though it seems like a lot of them are suffering from QC issues as reported on the FB users page. It's too bad, minus the heavy tongue weights, I like the Sporttrek Touring series. As always, thanks for your comments!
From one squirrel adhd’er to another, I love your videos and “totally” follow you!! (Cough, cough….hahaha) Lol! Anyway, I’m grooving on that kitchen! Not so much the bedroom. It would be that “major deal breaker” if we were seriously looking. I do enjoy the (Winnebago) rear kitchen’s! You, Haylett, sold us a Winnie Minnie Plus, and love, love it!! Personally….I’d like to see more tt’s that when you walk in, the dinette and all the windows are on the door side! I’d like to look at the back “yard” of my camping neighbors, not the front “yard”, so when we do eat inside, they’re not staring at us either. (I know, I could pull the blinds, but I do enjoy the outside light.) I also would like to be able to design our own inside!! Like here’s the 4 walls, now here’s where I’d like to place things, right from the kitchen, bathroo, the cabinets/cupboards etc… Wouldn’t that be fun!! Ok, I’m done! Thanks for the great videos!!
Very nice. Agree with eliminating outdoor speakers. Not the camping experience we’re looking for. A few misses. Radius shower, do you really need two entrances to the bathroom? No side tables in bedroom. We use cpaps. Stove placement. Dislike stove right against a cabinet / fridge.
Great floor plan. I was ready to say best TT plan and anterior I’ve seen. THEN I saw the cable slides 😳😩. These are a total no go. I’ve got several friends whose cables have broken and looking at used cable slide systems, the rubber seals get all torn up. They need to use rack and pinion slides. Great review though.
We've never really seen recurring issues with Cougar's cable system but I'm well aware there are some brands out there using a cable-driven slide less successfully. There are different suppliers for those systems which isn't obvious to a client and I fully respect folks needing to buy with confidence based on their experiences. I'm not really aware of anyone else with a layout quite like this using a different slide system but I'm sure there's ONE out there. Even living in this business like I do I just don't have them all memorized
Look at all that kichen storage! I like the big window over the sink. Behind the tv, you put things in baskets and put Rubbermaid shelf liner on the shelf. Nice practical bathroom. Can you put a shelf above the window in the bedroom for a cpap? Do you have to get a king sized bed? Doesn't that weather under belly help keep rodents out too?
Great idea behind the TV. When I looked at it I just kind of blanked but you folks here in the comments have had some great insights! King sized bed is standard in these, but I'm pretty sure the bed "base" is queen sized if you wanted to trim down & swap to a queen. Belly system definitely helps keep out the critters but man if I've learned anything over the years it's that critters can and will find their way into nearly anything they really want to. My father swears by those little rodent repellent packet things
Crappola, the link hasn't been reset yet or maybe it's because it was a custom order. Really love this plan and would love to know an approximate price. Those rear kitchens get me jonesing ever time.
How about a tension rod in the pantrytainment to keep stuff in? Would that work? Maybe pantrytainment center is meant to be a storage spot for objects that need to be hidden after arrival and set up. Like a purse, keys or wallet?
I like both those ideas. Nothing says you have to use it just one way! Others have mentioned that cargo mesh-type stuff which I also like the idea of using
I wish someone unbiased could do a video like this on the Crusier Embrace EL250 or one of the sisters. I own one and would like an outside opinion, it has everything much higher end units come with. However, with that said, thanks for the vids.
Beautiful trailer! We vote for No speakers outside! We would never force our camping neighbors to listen to our music choices and hope others would feel the same way. 😊. We go camping to get away from all the noise and racket of the city.
The finest RK I’ve ever seen. Matt always has 3 likes and 3 dislikes. All I can say on the inside is there’s a serious lack of dinette storage doors or drawers.
8:30 unlike JayCo; here’s an example of where the white kitchen decor works with the darker living room decor (probably since KeyStone/Cougar’s darker wood isn’t too dark = a really dark brown + their white/light, farmhouse-ish, decor isn’t distressed with solid black accents; + their upholstery isn’t as dark either) 👍🏽 👍🏽
Yes this is cheaper then a fifthwheel version but nothing beats the towing confort of a fifthwheel, but this thing is nice, with people ordering you get to see floorplans you don't see everyday. I really like the living area could Care less for the bed slide would rather see a closet slide. I really want to see more of that, I would probably put a 2 or 3inch tall flat piece of board for the behind TV storage or just not use it lol👍👍
Without question if towing regularly a fifth wheel can’t be beaten If mostly parking or seasonal or something like that a trailer like this wins for me
@@JoshtheRVNerd , closed up access, kitchen space, overall layout. But a few con's, bed slide to deep, making bed hard to make and get into for very senior citizen like us, don't need outside grill/frig so those would be removed for storage, we would have to try shower on for size since we have gotten use to out 4' rectangular shower. If we had one it would have a 12v compressor frig, table and chairs, theater seats if they are better than our current ones from Thomas Payne. Not sure what could be done about them, but solar and leveling controls need to be relocated.
This is "normal" in that regard since it's a big one piece belly skin. It can be a bit of work. Hopefully that's just something you don't need to get into
Josh You say the bed is accessible in road mode meaning we can sleep on it without putting the slide out. Then why cant we sit in the booth or theater seats without putting the slide out ?
I recorded this before I was better educated on that Nobody can ever tell if you if a towable RV's slide is definitely functional when closed up. Because no MFG or supplier tests for that Do so at your own risk and with common sense applied is all I can tell you
Any time you hear "always" immediately question it (which you have obviously). _Always?_ No. _Historically?_ Commonly. Yeah. Structurally rear kitchens place a TON of stress on the back/driver's corner where the slide comes near the rear wall and MFGs didn't used to bulk that area up as much. I haven't seen it as a common issue for a while.
I've said it before and I'll say it again I do love cougars.

My knees are starting to feel a little questionable at times. I'm inclined to agree
That one is really nice.
I liked it from the moment I saw it. Great design I think
Use them little bungee net thingies to hold products in behind TV?
Great idea. Ty!!
I absolutely love how the kitchen looks, personally I prefer a North/South bed.
Wait until you see the white hawk 27rk I have coming
We owned a 35 foot 2010 Innsbruck and now a 35 foot 2015 Cougar Xlite both with one a/c unit, which is not enough. In the midwest where summer temps in the upper 80's and low 90's happen often one a/c unit can not keep especially with the trailer parked in direct sun or with little shade. Dual a/c units in a rig over 30 feet is a must.
Thx Mark! Happy camping buddy
Very nice, nailed it with this one.
I think so too!
The question about keeping things from bouncing around on shelves while in transit. I stuff my pillows and blankets in the cabinets. Keeps things in place pretty good.
that works! And it saves you from needing to occupy space with tie downs and stuff once you're there!
That’s a fantastic Woody Woodpecker impersonation at 4:10
Lol came out better than I expected
You said welcome to Haylett rv 😬
I believe some of the videos we will see in the next couple weeks were filmed prior to the changeover. Pretty certain that Josh had mentioned that will happen occasionally for the next little while. 😁
Yeah Maureen beat me to it. Ty!!
You know.. I never really considered it but yeah they do definitely but heads a bit. Thanks for the perspective :)
Hey Josh! I would use small baskets in the cabinet behind the tv to keep things from slip-sliding away ;)
Love it
my second fav floor plan
What's your #1?
@@JoshtheRVNerd I saved the video of it not long ago, but I remember it had a full bath with walk in shower up front with a rear kitchen and it was also basically a flat deck fifth wheel like this. there is another that is a tie for first, it has a large sliding entry door. i forget what it is though.
Oops!
U started off with a haylett rv into. Its like writing 2021 in 2022!!
Pre-recorded video 😊
These will be phasing out soon enough
But ty for the heads up. I am definitely capable of making an oops like that 😂
My next travel trailer may well be a cougar. We like the king bed for the puggle.
Funny how even a small dog takes up big space like that
Nice Cougar.
OOh.. velcro. Didn't consider that. Good idea!
Which model do you have, Nicole?
Cheap and easy bedside "stand" you can add to nearly any RV! amzn.to/2XQqxDo
And yeah the bath storage is a bit lacking. I'd definitely want to add some kind of towel bar or hooks or .. both maybe
I have a bad habit of sleeping with my phone beside my bed and always look for a place to put them. but maybe when you're camping that's not quite as important?
Really like the build, the smart build and solar package are really attractive to me since when I buy a trailer it will almost exclusively be dry camping/boondocking. Problem is as much as I love them, I really don't know how a slide will handle our rough gravel roads up here in northern Canada.
once you have a bed slide you do not want to go back to a non bed slide
Behind tv use tension rods or bungee netting.
Love that bungee netting idea
14:38 a Towel Bar 🤩 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👍🏽 👍🏽 🙌🏽
I would never buy another rv with a rear kitchen unless I was going to park it in one place and never travel with it.
In this layout, I would get a residential refrigerator rather than an rv type and a queen bed not a king
Otherwise it looks nice
I do agree RK campers seem best for destination use so your stuff doesn’t get tossed around in the cabinets
i love this floorplan for a couples unit. interesting you refer to this as a destination unit - curious why?
Just how I personally picture it being used. It could certainly be towed around, but in my head if I were personally going to tow something this size, then I would likely go with a fifth wheel.
But if I were mostly Parked, then I would make it rain on this one
@@JoshtheRVNerd thanks for the insight -
Like other RVs have put a shelf over the window in the bedroom.
Like the Montana fifth wheels??
A little ditty of a trailer, owned by Jack & Diane, that is one John Cougar Gonnacamp of a trailer!
Howz that for a can of corn?

@@JoshtheRVNerd steal away my friend!
I like that idea actually. Sport Trek has kind of been surprisingly me lately with some fun/fresh ideas
TY for taking the time to share, Jacqulyn! Having an idea what people like and are looking for really helps me know what to bring to video!
Decent input. Ty Steve!
For the shelves behind the TV put a spring loaded curtain rod across the front of the shelf.
Ah, TY :)
The outside speakers can go and 2 doors would be great. The roof is walkable right
Sure is
Look at all that kichen storage!
Uncle Josh, Did you mention what kind of slide is used by Keystone on the model (eg rack and pinion)? Thank you.
Cougar's use Cable Slides currently on all models
Crappola, the link hasn't been reset yet or maybe it's because it was a custom order. Really love this plan and would love to know an approximate price. Those rear kitchens get me jonesing ever time.
Links will be kinda broken for a bit until our new website launches 🚀
Josh, try subway tile in a Herringbone pattern.
I wasn’t wrong, but still wasn’t right 😂
How about a tension rod in the pantrytainment to keep stuff in? Would that work? Maybe pantrytainment center is meant to be a storage spot for objects that need to be hidden after arrival and set up. Like a purse, keys or wallet?
I like both those ideas. Nothing says you have to use it just one way! Others have mentioned that cargo mesh-type stuff which I also like the idea of using
I wish someone unbiased could do a video like this on the Crusier Embrace EL250 or one of the sisters. I own one and would like an outside opinion, it has everything much higher end units come with. However, with that said, thanks for the vids.
Well it's possible I could get my hands on one later this year as I visit different facilities!
Beautiful trailer! We vote for No speakers outside! We would never force our camping neighbors to listen to our music choices and hope others would feel the same way. 😊. We go camping to get away from all the noise and racket of the city.
Sometimes I listen to trash music but I love it lol
So I get it. I don’t expect other RVers to jam out like me
A simple folding stool would work to sit cpap on. Just need to get it off the floor. The tubes are pretty long.
I also found these handy things amzn.to/2XQqxDo to act as bedside stands for almost any camper!
Tention bar aross open area would be helpful.
That works!
I want 2 AC units in a camper that long and can you turn the AC off in the living room.?
You can operate the HVAC from anywhere your phone can Bluetooth to the system
Living room included
Command hooks, and stretchy net. To keep things on the shelf.
Makes sense! I like how that would be less permanent!
The finest RK I’ve ever seen.
Matt always has 3 likes and 3 dislikes. All I can say on the inside is there’s a serious lack of dinette storage doors or drawers.
That’s definitely something I would agree with. On a premium level rv like this it feels strangely missing
Amazon has 8' cpap hoses available. Might make it to the closet. I know mine is probably 1/2 that length.
Good to know. Trying to understand their use more
Love the mirrored closet doors. Bow chicka wow wow. All joking aside nice floor plan. I love it. Do other brands come with a similar floor plan?
hahaha wasn't expecting that from you this morning!
Catalina has something similar here bit.ly/3ti1LOy
Uncle josh voodoo doll, that sounds great probly get good sales to.
Haha
I prefer speakers installed outside. A portable speaker is one more thing I have to carry outside and bring back in.
Fair enough. TY for sharing!
More and more I'm agreeing. I don't dislike the Jayco farmhouse decor but this one is just a bit warmer looking/feeling to me
Yes this is cheaper then a fifthwheel version but nothing beats the towing confort of a fifthwheel, but this thing is nice, with people ordering you get to see floorplans you don't see everyday. I really like the living area could Care less for the bed slide would rather see a closet slide. I really want to see more of that, I would probably put a 2 or 3inch tall flat piece of board for the behind TV storage or just not use it lol👍👍
Without question if towing regularly a fifth wheel can’t be beaten
If mostly parking or seasonal or something like that a trailer like this wins for me
Josh you gotta give up the smokes brother.🤣
Thankfully that's one habit I never picked up. I watched it kill enough members of my family at a young enough age to decide that wasn't for me
Can you please do a review on a 2022 Grey Wolf 26DJSE please
We have some coming. Hopefully when she lands I'll be able to get some footage for you!
Rockwood?
They tend to do more front kitchens like these m.th-cam.com/video/5XbmDhpydjk/w-d-xo.html
I think that's called herringbone? Not subway tile
😁 Nice unit for a newer model though.
TY. I suck with the home-design phrasing lol
Can you get it with w/d hookups?
Herringbone Pattern
WD hookups aren’t available as an option on cougars. We have other bed slides models that include the feature though
I'm dreaming of the impossible... 😕
Herringbone
Ty
I like it.
Awesome! What stands out about it to you, John?
@@JoshtheRVNerd , closed up access, kitchen space, overall layout. But a few con's, bed slide to deep, making bed hard to make and get into for very senior citizen like us, don't need outside grill/frig so those would be removed for storage, we would have to try shower on for size since we have gotten use to out 4' rectangular shower. If we had one it would have a 12v compressor frig, table and chairs, theater seats if they are better than our current ones from Thomas Payne. Not sure what could be done about them, but solar and leveling controls need to be relocated.
Use baskets behind the tv.
Any recommendations for a half ton toy hauler under 30k? Love the channel originally from Kalamazoo!
Maybe something from Cherokee or Wildwood... perhaps something like...

Can you put 6 solar panels on? Outside speakers could leave. Have had them on rvs and don’t even use them.
Depending on the size of the solar package you’re looking at or size of panels you plan to add it’s possible certainly
Josh, is that easier access to the underbelly if repairs are ever needed?
This is "normal" in that regard since it's a big one piece belly skin. It can be a bit of work. Hopefully that's just something you don't need to get into
Cougar? You said Rockwood. Someone needs a vacation!!
hahaha
Whoops..
Love kitchen, front closet and bedroom just do not need second door to bathroom.
I think I'd also prefer that to be something like a 1-door bath with more storage there on that wall. Or hanging bars. Something
Josh You say the bed is accessible in road mode meaning we can sleep on it without putting the slide out. Then why cant we sit in the booth or theater seats without putting the slide out ?
I recorded this before I was better educated on that
Nobody can ever tell if you if a towable RV's slide is definitely functional when closed up. Because no MFG or supplier tests for that
Do so at your own risk and with common sense applied is all I can tell you
@@JoshtheRVNerd Thanks for the response!
I believe that is subway tile in a herringbone pattern
Everyone seems to agree. I don't know why the "HGTV Terms" just don't stick with me.
Very nice
Cougar is just on fire right now man
Josh, I've been told that rear kitchens always leak, do you know anything about that?
Any time you hear "always" immediately question it (which you have obviously).
_Always?_ No.
_Historically?_ Commonly. Yeah.
Structurally rear kitchens place a TON of stress on the back/driver's corner where the slide comes near the rear wall and MFGs didn't used to bulk that area up as much.
I haven't seen it as a common issue for a while.
@@JoshtheRVNerd Thank you Josh .
