    This is why I love being able to see all sorts of different RVs -- every single one has those one or two little interesting qualities that just really captures your attention! This Coachmen camper was no exception!
    The first thing I noticed in this travel trailer was the HUGE open living room feel thanks to those taller sidewalls and that big vaulted ceiling! Then, comes that amazing hidden "Pantrytainment" center!
    The storage under the true queen bed is also spectacular!! The RV isn't without it's little hiccups as I touch on in the video. But overall I think it's an excellent couple's camping option that you'd enjoy quite a bit!

    We are now first time rv trailer owners. With all of your knowledge & tips we felt confident in finding a trailer that fits us. I'm posting here because this is 2022 is what we purchased. Gently used and in great shape we can't wait to start camping in Kansas this spring. I would love to shake your hand in gratitude for sharing your knowledge, good jokes (and bad). We've been watching your videos for over a year and will continue.
    Keep doing what you are doing

    Very nice single or couples camper. Lots of storage everywhere. Love the under bed storage. Very pet friendly with the sleeping area and dish drawer. Would like a floating table to make it easier for a bigger person to sit in the dinette. Don’t like the camp stove right in front of refrigerator in the outside kitchen.

    🐶Boston terrier. Not thrilled with the kitchen. Love the height and the hidden storage. Like the bed being true queen and the underbed storage but my husband would have a hard time lifting it with me in it ( he’s a very early riser). We have a grill on an arm that folds to the back of the camper but swings to the side of the kitchen when using.

      There's not a lot of storage in the bathroom. We put our towels in the side closets of the bedroom. I store larger things for the kitchen under the seats in the dinette, like my countertop ice maker. Get a stepstool for items in the freezer because it is deep and up high. We got another mattress for the bed. We use our memory foam topper for the dinette when it's made into a bed to make it softer. We actually slept 8 in it with an air mattress on the floor and two teens in the theater seats that don'tlay down flat. We cook on a wood fire mostly. We also have a huge electric roaster we use for brisket. Put your snacks on the table or in the fridge because it is a constant opening of the entertainment center if you put them in storage. There is a solar panel on the roof and it runs the fridge with no problems. Get the second a/c if you live anywhere it gets above 90°, especially if kids are running in and out. It was that hidden storage that sold my husband. I was happy to have the camp kitchen.

    Just walked through a '23 model this morning. We really liked it. All it needs is an electric fireplace, we've seen many manufacturers put them in the hidden pantry doors.
    The outdoor kitchen is a little lacking. Loose the pull out stove and you could fit a small sink next to the refer, under the bathroom sink. Just give it a quick connect under there. We use a GCI folding camp kitchen, best outdoor accessory we've bought, next to our outdoor kitchen anyway. We even started using an electric griddle/grill to save on propane.
    The under bed set-up is what really sells it for me. That should be standard across the board. Our two Corgis would love it under there.
    We currently have the Alpha Wolf 26RB, so same basic floorplan. This one is a little shorter and lighter. We have the walk in pantry. Honestly I think you get more storage in this layout. Also you gain at least a foot in floorspace in the living room this way.
    If it just had that fireplace we'd have probably been talking trade in this morning.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I love seeing the comparison between this and the similar Alpha. Overall I found myself nodding along and tend to agree with everything you've mentioned here!

    That...is awesome! Even the few things I don't like just don't seem worth mentioning! This is 99% perfect! I feel like I'm cheating on my favorite brand Flagstaff/Rockwood, but a spade is a spade, this is amazing.
    As for the camp stove, tell Coachmen to make the following modification:
    Camp stove pulls straight out, then put a sliding tray so the stove can pull out toward the left, out of the way, keeping it attached to the camper but moving it out of the way of the fridge. Get me? So a side-to-side slide after pulling out the stove.

    • @thecookiemangaming5646
      @thecookiemangaming5646 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that could work but what if they made that sliding part into an actual drawer and then had a griddle come off the back bumper that comes out and around and you still have the griddle on the left out of the way of the fridge?

  • @dadpool3519
    @dadpool3519 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Hey Josh... I appreciate when you are able to point out a manufacturer's consideration of interior pet "conveniences". The pet feeders are nice. What I would like to see is more consideration being given to kitten litter boxes. The under bed location almost gets there, but not quite. That said, a few more adjustments to a "standard" sized litter box(es) location would be greatly appreciated. I think the first manufacturers to purposefully address that issue will be rewarded.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What would you need to see changed to be more kitty friendly?

    • @dadpool3519
      @dadpool3519 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JoshtheRVNerd Thanks for asking. In this review, the under bed area gets really close. Instead of the framed "openings" under the right side of the bed "cabinetry", leave that side totally open and unobstructed. For those of us with kittens or cats, the left side under bed cabinetry could then be used for kitten / cat related supplies, with the "center" walkway being open and unobstruxted. Mind you, this kind of arrangement requires routine / regular care of the litter boxes.
      It would be great to find a purposefully designated area in a different location throughout the RV to accomplish such a task as well. With RVs removing carpet, maintenance and clean up are getting easier, but often times one has to contend with the idea that the litter boxes are exposed. One RV, the Rockwood Signature Travel Trailer 8324SB again has a perfect spot that is not executed on well enough. Take the bench area of the dinette. You have storage access from the outside and inside. I believe you can lift the seat cushion and all, but it would be ideal for the manufacturer to provide an open side entrance so the kittens / cats can do their business without having to keep the seat top open all the time. Because it has outside access, it would be sooo much easier to clean the litter boxes... akin to the idea of RVs that have a garbage opening on the counter of the kitchen that is accessible to an outside access door to pull the trash out without having to traipse throughout the RV to remove your garbage.
      Does that make sense??? Dogs & cats are usually addressed on RV pet considerations when feeding is being discussed. Dogs are required to go outside to do their biz, but cats can successfully accomplish their mission with the use of litter boxes inside. Minimal manufacturer modifications could be made to "fix" the issue. Hope that helps. And again, as always, thanks for being one of the best most open, honest and transparent RV reviewers in the business! We greatly appreciate you!
      - Dan

    Pretty nice. Love the residential queen bed and the theatre seats. I'm not typically a fan of an outdoor kitchen and as you mentioned there needs to be a modification where the griddle swings to the left so that you don't block the fridge but what I do like is the fact that the camp kitchen is not directly under the indoor kitchen thereby blocking and eliminating cabinet access. I think there's enough storage in the bathroom to accommodate anyone's needs. And speaking of the bathroom yes the plastic sink and miniature faucet do look pretty cheap. However I really like the layout particularly the 30x36 shower with the door and as you call it the fluffy friendly toilet. It's also nice that there is a good amount of counter space in the bathroom to accommodate getting ready in the day. I would like more countertop space in the kitchen because it definitely is tight as far as prep space goes but perhaps if you did your $40 table hack you could bring the dinette table over and use it as additional prep space in the kitchen area. I like the 12 volt fridge and the hidden pantry is very clever. Plenty of space to store pantry goods and other things such as adult beverages. I appreciate the use of pocket doors as it makes access so much easier. It's too bad there isn't a second door into this RV so that it would be usable in road mode but maybe in the next version of this unit. The lighter color cabinets are nice and the doors to access the under bench storage is helpful although a drawer would be ideal. Yes my dogs take up a fair amount of my bed. And heaven forbid I get up in the night as I am not getting my spot back! Vanderbed storage is interesting. I'm not sure that I'm in love with the idea of having to lift the bed to get to the storage. But I guess it's better that they gave you some built-in storage then not because the storage looks on the side of the bed is pretty limited and it doesn't look like there's room for any kind of drawers at the end of the bed which I'm okay with cuz I'd rather have a real queen bed than a short queen bed and a few shower little drawers built into the back wall. I think my dogs might find it interesting hiding under the bed I might have to put something there to block it off so that I don't have to go on a hunt each time I need to leave making sure that everybody is secured. I would most likely put a small table in to use and turn the theater seating into a dynofa and keep the dinette in the down position and cover it and it will probably become the dogs sofa.

Dump the theater seating for a pull out sofa bed and if you want to put your feet up, just get a couple of small ottomans. Outside of those prefered changes. I love the lay out.

    Great floorpan............especially like the hidden pantry behind the TV. Not too sure about the lack of bedroom access when the slide is in though. Almost wish they would have put a second exterior entry door in the bedroom for that reason.
    I agree with you regarding the love/hate relationship with the exterior camp kitchen. They seem to be such a great idea, but the execution is usually terrible. This is coming from someone that really likes to cook outside! As my trailer does not have an exterior kitchen I use a 17" Blackstone griddle with a Blackstone stand for most of the cooking, and a Coleman "Fold N Go" like stove for the occasional time I would like stove burners. My trailer does have the "Propane Cooker Hooker" connection so I can run the griddle from the trailer propane supply, but the "fold N Go" needs the 1 pound bottles. So if I were to design the Exterior Kitchen, I would prefer the same functionality as my makeshift exterior kitchen has. One of the biggest hassles I have is carrying all the "stuff" from inside the trailer to the outside so I can cook it. So I would keep the outside stove, add a side mounted griddle as you suggested (under the awning please), and I would delete the outside fridge and put in a cabinet/spice rack that could hold supplies such as olive oil, spices, cooking utensils, dishes, etc. These things could be left in the cabinet permanently so they are there when you are ready to cook. A sink would be great, but only if it were fully functional and big enough to actually wash all the dishes and utensils you would use. Being the camp kitchen is compact on this trailer, there is likely not enough room for a sink. But that is just me, I am sure that there are others that would rather keep the outside fridge. I guess that would boil down to personal taste. One interesting outdoor kitchen design I have seen is on the Lance 2075. It has an exterior kitchen that pulls out the back. Now granted I would want different kitchen appliances, but I do like the layout of this kitchen and the idea of the pullout design. (just saying, I would not buy this trailer for a number of other reasons, I did find the exterior kitchen idea interesting,)
    Regarding the lack of a ladder on the trailer, that is a dealbreaker for me. As I camp often in areas with lots of trees, it is necessary to clean the tops of the slide outs before you bring them in for travel as they accumulate all sorts of leaves, pine cones, pine needles, etc. I did notice the trailer in the video did not have slide toppers, so cleaning the slide tops would be a must around here. And you never know when you need to get on the roof during a trip.
    Thanks again for your attention to detail during the videos. Always enjoy watching!

The table when put in bed mode is an EXACT fit for a twin mattress also! Great little camper. One downside is no ladder. The little stove outside is useless. Just use the refer for drinks. The motion sensor lights we disabled in the bathroom and at the end of the bed. Come on too much when wanting to watch TV at night. Looks llike a light show on and off on and off...... No regrets in the purchse though!

    I love this. I’d need a folding counter height table because I cook a LOT. I need a square of space for a good sized chopping board. But it wouldn’t need to be dedicated space. Maybe could turn that table into an adjustable height free floating table.
    Omg that hidden door pantry is freaking awesome.

    This is the trailer that I have. However mine is a 2021. The only real difference is mine still has a carpet in the slide and the graphics are different. Our CCC is more as well. It's 1700lbs. I love it but my wife wishes the kitchen prep space was larger.
    The front fishing rod storage is a nice idea but I don't fish. I store my flag pole and outside broom in there plus a few other things. It's hard to open because my front storage is full. I don't have that much in there but the storage is a little smaller than I like.
    The storage behind the entertainment center is what sold me on this trailer. The under bed storage is nice to but we don't use it a lot.
    My dog however loves it. That's her cave. She's a Havanese and she's only 14lbs.
    I've changed some lights and added more like up lighting above the slide molding and led lighting on the outside under the trailer, also added a back splash and a piece of clear acrylic next to the stove to protect the wall.
    All in all we love this trailer. It's not perfect but which one is?

    Similar layout to Grand Design 2600RB (I own one) as you mentioned Josh. Furion A/C scares the heck out of me. Don't like the dinette table as it's fixed but you mentioned the $40 hack to make it a floating table leg system and I would do that in a heartbeat. The under bed cabinet setup is unique, I like it. Outside fridge is nice, I don't care much for the griddle. Everyone has their own cooking weapons and I'm sure that stock thing is cheap.

      What is it about the Furrion air that gives you concern, John? I am not personally aware of a frequency item causing issues with them but my job doesn't always intersect with service regularly so that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I appreciate any info you can provide!

I had a Furrion backup camera on the used Grand Design TT we bought and the cool blue light was on but it wouldn't transmit or connect to the screen in our rig. To Furrion's credit I contacted them and they worked with me to try and fix the issue but in the end it was determined on the used rig I bought that this camera was broken and out of warranty. I would need to buy a new $500 unit to replace it. @@JoshtheRVNerd I think from a general engineering standpoint, these rear view cameras are TOUGH to sync well wirelessly to a receiver in our trucks. Why? Because some trailers are clad in aluminum (a wireless signal blocker) and our trucks are also wrapped in metal. A rearview camera with an antenna that runs to the front of the rig would help tremendously... as would a receiver antenna OUTSIDE the truck and tied to a monitor in the cab. Then I suspect no issues.

    Over all a nice floor plan but I'd like to see a few changes and or options for it. First get rid of the dinette and let me have a free standing table with 2 chairs. Get rid of that closet behind the TV and let me have a fireplace below and a much bigger space for a TV along with a couple of cabinets above that. Get rid of the outside kitchen and let me have storage below the sink in the bathroom. Couple of 30 lb tanks on the tongue and 2 400 watt solar panels on the roof along with a good charge controller and about 600 to 800 amp battery's. Josh you are 100% correct about the manufacturers not offering black out blinds over their windows. That's just ridiculous. And, no ladder offering at all? That means you'll have to take it back to a dealer every year to have a roof inspection / maintenance done. Needless added expense for the owner.

    This one is a bit of a paradox for me, Josh. One the one hand, I can see how this might be attractive to a young single, or couple, but one the other hand it looks too much like a college dorm room in wheels for my taste.
    Otherwise, it checks off a lot of the boxes! It offers a lot for it's size; and it's fairly nice . I especially like the way that it uses the bedroom space beneath the mattress. Excellent! 😋👍
    Maybe they need to make two models off this same floorplan:
    This one, which can be marketed primarily to younger college grads (singles, or couples).
    Another model that would be finished inside for those with more... _'discerning'_ tastes. A little more upscale, but retaining the Ultralite concept.
    For me, it would be too small, because at 6'6" and 285 lbs, I'd probably be like a bull in a china shop. Also, the bed would still be too small for me and my wife.
    They may also consider offering the option to make it a 4-Season camper (upon order only), for those who expect to be in colder climates.
    Overall, it's a nice RV.

    Lots to like about this one. 😊 Especially like the hidden storage behind the TV and the under the bed storage. A few things that require more thought though, that dog dish is useless, it’s tipped at an angle and is right in the walkway. I’m assuming the trays are removable so as a drawer it’s fine but not really necessary. Also the outdoor kitchen is poorly designed, I’d rather have the storage under the sink and center the sink in the cabinet. That ding in the woodwork you pointed out looks like they neglected to secure the top strap on the TV storage panel during transit. Lines up pretty well with the trim in the slide. 😬 But the dealbreaker is no ladder capability. I’m not interested in hauling a ladder with me. Glad you mentioned not storing the sewer hose in the compartment in the “garage”. You’re right someone will!🤮

    I like the decor and the space. But, as you pointed out, the table is too small for more than three eaters. That big U-shaped dinette takes up an awful lot of space for just three people. I hope a table and chairs is an option. Also, if you make the table free floating, as you suggest, you can pul it over to the kitchen to augment the workspace, which is lacking. If there is an option for a table and chairs, I would also replace the theater seats with a sofa bed, to make up for losing the sleeping space from the dinette.
